A
A
couple
people
from
the
local
area
and
couples
spread
all
over
the
place,
and
tonight
we
are
going
to
do
pretty
much
our
agenda
in
this
sequence,
where
we're
in
the
informal
discussion
right
now
a
quick
review
of
what
we've
done
in
the
sig.
A
Since
we
started,
I'm
going
to
start
a
feature
of
each
one
of
our
sig
meetings
featuring
a
utility
of
the
month
which
we'll
do
and
then
we're
going
to
talk
about
maintaining
our
linux
installation,
and
when
I
had
the
concept
of
doing
this,
I
figured
what
you'll
see
on
the
following
screens
that
we
could
probably
cover
this
in
an
hour
and
a
half
or
two
hours,
and
then
I
started
putting
this
together
and
realized.
Well,
it
might
take
a
couple
of
meetings
to
get
everything
in.
A
So
if
I
don't
cover
everything
tonight,
I
don't
want
to
rush
through
it.
There's
really
no
reason
to
rush,
and
if
we
need
to
drill
down
answer
questions
as
we
go
whatever
we'll
just
pick
up
next
month
with
the
things
we
missed
tonight,
but
we'll
have
a
little
q,
a
I'll
talk
about
some
resources
and
then
we'll
talk
about
topics
for
upcoming
meetings.
A
Before
we
get
going.
One
of
the
things
that
came
up
during
the
cfcs
windows
sig
on
sunday
was
that
people
were
having
trouble
seeing
huey
poplock's
screen,
especially
down
in
his
task
bar.
So
I'm
going
to
just
with
this
window.
I
am
just
unless
it's
on
a
windows
computer,
I'm
just
going
to
bring
up
my
taskbar.
A
So
now
you
should
see
my
entire
screen,
I'm
not
I'm
not
in
the
slideshow
at
the
moment.
So
you
should
I've
got
a
24-inch
screen
here
and
you
should
see
my
little
clip
mate
behind
it
and
you
should
see
my
task
icons
all
the
way
over
in
the
corners,
the
time
and
date
on
the
right
side,
lower
and
left
side
lower.
A
But
can
you,
if
you
all
choose
to
you,
can
decide
what
you
want
to
do
as
far
as
the
additional
display
of
people
that
are
that
are
in
the
group?
But
can
you
all
see
that
screen
from
top
to
bottom
and
left
to
right
yeah?
I
can
okay,
one
of
the.
A
A
A
What
you'll
get
is
two
thirds
of
the
screen
with
a
smaller
representation
of
the
screen,
I'm
sharing
and
then
one
third
of
the
screen
will
have
your
video
choice
and,
if
you've
selected
speaker,
then
you'll
see
me
talking
and
if
you
select,
let's
see
what
else
I've
got
on
view
here,
you
can
do
side
by
side
gallery
and
then,
if
we're
interactively
discussing
what's
on
that
screen-
and
you
want
to
actually
see
the
other
people
talking
at
the
time
that
we're
pointing
to
it
or
asking
questions
about
it,
you
can
look
at
side
by
side
gallery
otherwise
view
and
standard
will
put
the
display
of
the
other
people
in
the
conference
above
the
full
screen.
A
B
A
B
B
A
B
B
On
this,
a
lot
of
those
black
bars
seem
persistent,
and
I
haven't
seen
a
way
of
getting
rid
of
them.
B
A
B
A
A
I
have
a
an
application
that
I
have
used
for
years
and
years
and
years
and
years
called
clipmate
and
clipmate
lets.
You
keep
a
history
of
things
that
you
have
copied
to
your
clipboard
and
you
can
see
in
this
particular
folder.
A
This
will
roll
over
the
oldest
will
drop
off
the
top
and
the
newest
will
go
in
on
the
bottom
and
I'm
all
the
time
grabbing
like
tonight.
I
was
grabbing
an
address
from
an
email
and
pasting
it
in
to
a
post
office
label
kind
of
thing.
So
this
was
the
address
I
needed
to
pull
up
and
I
I
just
pulled
it
up
and
then
dropped
it
in
as
needed
and
I'm
you
know
I
would
get
a
youtube
video
to
share
or
something
like
that
and
in
an
email
I
sent
to
tim
earlier.
A
I
was
talking
about
an
alternative
to
open
dns,
which
was
cloudflare
and
I
went
to
their
website
and
picked
up
the
picked
up
their
address
and
then
dropped
it
into
the
email
so
being
familiar
with
this.
I
really
wanted
to
have
something
similar
for
linux
and
there
are
a
number
of
different
applications
that
are
out
there.
A
A
A
It
looks
like
it's
cyrillic,
it's
either
cyrillic
or
greek.
No,
it's
greek!
That's
a
greek
letter!
So
it
looks
like
this
was
created
by
a
greek
author
anyway,
at
4.3
stars,
so
we'll
stick
it
in
I've
been
playing
with
it.
Now
on
my
other
linux
computers,
it
seems
to
be
working
good.
Oh,
what's
my
password.
A
A
A
B
A
A
Oh
here
we
go
omit
items
in
the
middle,
so
I
didn't
really
understand
that
when
I
first
saw
it
apparently
what
it
does
is
when
you
reach
say
this
50
and
then
you
put
another
item
in
an
item
in
the
middle
will
drop
out,
but
your
oldest
will
stay
and
your
newest
will
stay
and
I
guess
that's
on
the
basis
that
the
oldest
might
be
the
most
important
to
you.
But
the
newest
has
been
the
most
recent.
You
don't
want
it
to
go
away.
A
A
Apparently
you
can
create
some
action
keys
and
I
haven't
figured
that
out
yet
so
I'm
not
at
the
moment.
I
don't
seem
to
need
it,
but
I
will
leave
that
to
anyone
that
wants
to
play
with
it
and
report
back
and
then
you
can
actually
put
some
security
on
it.
So
if,
in
fact,
there
are
passwords
and
things
like
that
that
you
might
inadvertently
copy
and
not
want
to
show
up
in
your
history,
apparently
you
can
put
some
exclusion
things
in.
A
A
So
let's
try
an
example.
I'm
going
to
open
up.
B
Let's
see
what
are
we
using
here
for
this
okay,
I'm
using
brave
to
browse
so,
let's
just
open
up
brave
and
let's
go
to.
A
A
A
A
B
It
lets
you
say
that
you
don't
want
it
to
save
path,
save
things
like
passwords.
You
can
put
exclusions
in
there.
That's
the
only
thing
that
I
would
be
concerned
about
is
that
if
I
copy
a
password
to
paste
it
into
something
which
I
periodically
have
to
do,
even
even
though
I
have
a
passport
manager,
I'm
concerned
that
I
would
it
would
save
that
in
inside
of
there.
That
does
mike.
Does
this
synchronize
to
other
computers
or
just
just
for
this
computer.
A
At
the
moment,
it's
this
computer
and
sean
knows
that.
If
I
tell
from
the
the
wallpaper
behind
me,
that's
the
synology
disk
station
default
wallpaper
for
for
their
seventh
version
of
their
software.
I
just
installed
a
synology
file
server
a
couple
weeks
ago
and
we're
still
playing
it
and
sean's
got
one
too.
A
B
A
We
got
lots
of
things
to
do
to
maintain
it,
and
so
my
natural
curiosity,
once
I
got
linux
up
and
running,
was
how
do
I
maintain
my
linux
mint
now
sitting
to
my
left,
not
in
the
conference
at
the
moment
is
a
hewlett
packard,
desktop
that's
about
10
or
12
years
old
and
was
at
one
time
my
main
computer
until
I
built
one
and
that
and
when
I
decided
well,
what
am
I
going
to
do
with
this
thing?
My
son
didn't
want
it.
My
my
close
friends
here
didn't
want
it.
A
I
said:
well
all
right
I'll
put
linux
on
it,
so
linux
mint
has
been
on
that
for
a
long
time,
and
I
will
admit
I
haven't
backed
it
up,
because
all
I
use
it
for
maybe
is
watching
some
youtube
videos.
A
Very
rarely
is
there
any
data
stored
on
it
of
any
sort.
It's
just
there
for
another
screen
in
the
office,
so
I
haven't
been
backing
it
up
at
all
and
every
now
and
then
I'll
get
a
notice
that
that
there's
an
update
here
for
the
linux
distro
and
software,
and
I
may
update
it.
I
may
not-
and
I
don't
think
I've
ever
uninstalled
anything
that
I
had
installed
and
tried
out
and
nor
have
I
tried
to
clean
it.
A
Up
of
you
know
temporary
files
and
cache
and
all
the
rest.
It's
just
sitting
there
running
and
it's
never
had
a
problem
and
I
never
maintained
it
never
backed
it
up.
But
these
are
the
things
that
if
you've
got
a
computer
and
you're
going
to
use
it
very
first
one
list,
you
got
to
back
it
up
and
there's
a
lot
of
emphasis
on
backup
and
computer
user
groups.
A
A
The
computer
up,
I
think,
is
very
important
and
if
even
at
the
very
beginning
in
your
trials
to
set
up
a
linux
computer
for
the
very
first
time,
if
you're
successful
in
patting
yourself
on
your
back
and
then
the
next
thing
you
do
causes
it
to
crash
or
delete
something
or
messes
it
up
or
you're.
Just
really
not
sure
do
you
really
want
to
start
over
from
scratch?
A
About
it
all
right
to
start
with
time,
shift
is
included
as
one
of
the
programs
in
linux
mint
and
in
my
search
on
the
internet,
and
this
link
is
a
hot
link,
as
I
will
be
sharing
this
presentation
after
the
meeting's
over.
So
you
can
come,
take
a
look
at
it
and
they
actually
walk
you
through
a
number
of
different
ways
to
set
time
shift
up.
A
A
So
you
don't
save
it
again
and
then
just
save
the
differences-
and
it
says
each
snapshot-
is
a
full
system
backup.
So
it's
going
to
get
the
updates
that
you
have
made
to
the
operating
system.
It's
going
to
get
any
documents
that
you
save
or
you
that
you
write
or
modified,
and
it
says
it
can
be
saved
to
any
disk
formatted
with
a
linux
file
system.
A
When
I
first
saw
that
I
didn't
pay
too
much
attention
to
it,
and
I
just
jumped
right
in
stuck
an
external
hard
drive
on
tried
time
shift
and
says:
no,
no,
no!
You
can't
do
this.
This
is
not
a
linux
disk
linux
system,
so
it
wants
your
ext4
3,
whatever
linux
file
system
to
save
to
so
that
means
you
need
a
dedicated
device
to
say
all
right,
I'm
going
to
have
a
device
that
I'm
going
to
dedicate
only
for
time
shift,
at
least
for
the
moment,
and
I
did
try
a
couple
different
things.
A
I've
got
an
external
hard
drive,
let's
see
here.
If
I
stop
share
for
just
a
moment.
B
A
A
A
A
A
A
You
wound
up
with
a
32
gigabyte
partition.
Now
that's
not
going
to
handle
a
big
computer,
at
least
not
at
32,
but
you
know
they
got
these
things
up
to
128
gigabytes.
Now
we're
still
at
reasonable
prices,
but
for
this
installation,
the
lenovo
computer,
we're
using
right
now
has
very
little
on
it
besides
the
operating
system,
so
I
went
ahead
and
let's
see
this
is
showing
the
properties.
B
I
tried
to
interrupt
you
asking
whether
you
were
planning
on
sharing
the
screen.
A
B
A
A
A
B
A
A
Files
and
here's
the
sd
card-
and
you
can
see
that
the
the
time
shift
program
did
in
fact
create
a
time
shift,
folder
I'll
I'll
bring
that
up
here
in
a
minute.
I
did
put
it
on
the
desktop,
and
you
can
see
this
I'll
talk
about
later,
so
this
is
and-
and
I
told
it
to
go
ahead
and
make
several
different
kinds
of
snapshots
told
to
make
a
boot
snapshot
a
daily
snapshot,
an
hourly
snapshot,
a
monthly
snapshot
and
on
demand-
which
I
did
the
first
time
and
to
do
it
weekly.
A
So
this
gives
you
an
idea
of
what
will
wind
up
on
here
and
if
I
go
and
look
at
properties
on
this
now,
let's
see
when
was
this
first
run,
so
it
was
oh
okay,
so
this
is
actually
running.
You
know
this
is
running
automatically
right
now,
so
it
looks
like
sunday
was
the
first
day
that
I
did
a
manual
run
on
it.
A
Okay,
so
we
had
we've
used
quite
a
bit
of
it.
A
A
B
A
No,
it's
not
going
to
give
me
the
details.
The
the
idea
is
because
it's
getting
your
system,
you
supposed
to
be
able
to
restore
it,
and
I
guess
you
can
restore
it
from
the
live
boot
and
then
run
it.
I
don't
know,
have
you
played
with
this
tim?
Have
you
done
any
restorations
with
time
shift
only.
B
A
tiny
bit
and
I
didn't
get
into
arrest
restoration
situation
as
yet,
but
my
opinion
of
the
utility
is,
you
have
a
time
machine
on
mac
and
you
have
your
on
windows,
the
restore
points,
yeah
they're,
all
basically
doing
kind
of
the
same
concept.
A
A
So
I
just
clicked
wizard
and
you
want
to
use
rsync,
because
this
is
this
is
essentially
what
it's
using
in
the
terminal,
and
this
is
90
of
what
the
the
installations
will
be.
A
A
You
choose
your
destination
and
you
can
see.
I
do
have
an
external
hard
drive
on
here
that
I
could
be
using
except
it's
not
ext4,
so
I
could
not
use
that,
but
here's
the
32
gig-
and
this
is
what
this
is,
what
I
used.
B
That
the
btrfs
has
the
has
the
you
know
it
has
this
this
built
in
to
its
to
the
way
it
works.
It
has
the
ability
to
do
these
snapshots
within
the
at
a
lower
level
than
just
doing
it
through
this
tool.
A
A
Well,
I
guess
btrf
is.
Can
you
execute
that
on
the
terminal
like
you
can
rsync?
I
don't.
I
don't
think
so
I
don't
know.
I
know
you
can
use
dd.
We
we
talked
about
that
a
little
bit
on
yesterday,
but
dd
is
a
terminal
command
for
for
doing
some
backups
at
the
terminal.
And
it's
it's
a
it's
a
bit
over
my
head.
There's
there's
so
many
options.
I
didn't
even
want
to
try
it.
B
Think
of
the
btrfs
as
a
more
modern
version
of
a
file
for
of
a
disk
formatting.
The
est
ext4
is
an
older,
older
style,
there's
also
zfs,
so
cfs
dtrfs
have
the
ability
to
do
the
versioning
or
the
snapshots
at
the
lower
level
on
the
drive
itself
just
for
kicks.
Let's
take
a
quick
look:
I'm
not
going
to
do
it,
but
let's,
let's
go
to
discs.
A
So
I'm
not
even
being
given
an
option
at
this
point
to
format
it
with.
Oh
okay,
it
wants
partitioning
first,
okay,
let
me
just
let
me
say
no
partitioning
at
the
moment
just
for
kicks.
A
B
A
A
A
B
That's
it
if
you
want
to
delete
it,
just
right:
click
on
that
orangish
bar
and
say:
delete!
Oh
hey!
It's
not
letting
you.
A
A
And
you're
going
to
see
in
these
other
demos
if
we
get
to
them
that
I
learned
the
hard
way
that
I
couldn't
even
do
some
backups
without
unmounting
and
even
on
mounting
it
kept
wanting
to
remount,
and
I
was
complaining
to
john
kennedy
and
he
said
yeah
just
boot
from
the
live,
distro
run
the
same
program
and
they
won't
be
mounted
and
then
you'll
be
able
to
do
what
you
want
to
do.
So.
A
That's
that's
why
I
was
playing
around
I'm
sitting
here
now
with
one
two
three
six
discs
sitting
in
front
of
me
all
eventually
bootable
for
for
demo.
If
I
wish
you
know
if
we
get
that
far
okay,
so
let's
see
I
was
let's
see.
If
I
finished,
did
I
finish
the
wizard
or
is
it.
A
This
guy
said
next:
okay,
so
now
here's
where
you
choose
what
kind
of
snapshots
do
you
want,
so
I
kind
of
minimized
it,
but
I'm
saying
okay,
I'm
going
to
keep
one,
but
technically
speaking,
if
I
got
plenty
of
room
on
an
external
drive,
I
could
keep
every
month
as
its
own
standalone
snapshot.
I
just
said
nah.
If
I
keep,
if
I'm
doing
these
weekly
daily
and
boot,
then
really
all
I
all.
A
I
really
want
to
do
is
month
by
month,
long
term
and
same
thing
for
for
the
week,
I'll
keep
I'll
keep
one
week's
worth
and
one
month's
worth
now
daily
I'll
keep
six
days
until
it
comes
up
and
makes
the
weekly
and
then
it'll
start
over
again
dropping
the
oldest
and
putting
the
newest
in.
So
that
means
if
I've
got
something
in
in
a
document,
for
example,
that
I
changed,
I
said
oops,
no,
I
need
a
version
from
yesterday.
A
I
can
at
least
go
and
get
it
and
put
it
back
if
it's
really
critical
to
stuff
you're
doing,
apparently
you
can
do
it
for
24
hours
a
day
every
hour
and
at
boot
each
time
the
computer
boots.
It's
making
a
snapshot
automatically,
so
that's
kind
of
nice.
If,
if
that's
what
you
want
and
you
can
apparently
have
emails-
and
I
don't
have
it
set
up
for
that-
so
I
just
said:
don't
don't
send
me
any
emails
on
it.
I
don't
particularly
want
that.
A
I
had
to
go
ahead
and
back
everything
up
from
the
root
which
I
thought
would
be
inclusive
of
the
home
and
that's
something
I
haven't
yet
figured
out
whether
I'm
double
covering
myself,
because
I
would
think
if
I
start
with
root-
and
I
start
with
the
root
folder,
then
it's
going
to
back
it's
going
to
snapshot
everything
below
it,
but
I
I
said
well,
let
me
just
go
ahead
and
also
do
it
for
the
user,
which
is
the
computer
society.
A
B
The
real
root
is
just
a
forward
slash
now.
The
other
guy
is
correct,
that
you're
doing
just
a
folder
there.
A
B
So
you're
this
is
the
setup
wizard
for
time
for
time
shift
is
time
shift
actually
doing
anything
with
the
operating
system
or
just
your
home
folders.
B
B
A
B
A
B
Okay
is
it:
if
can
you
go
to
the
actual
folder
or
the
the
the
sd
card
yup
and
on
the
sd
card?
Is
it
a
flat
system
where
you
can
actually
browse
the
what
it's
backed
up.
A
B
Like
it
is,
follow
this
okay
where's
homes
for
home?
Well,
if
we
go,
let's
say
user,
no,
that's
usr!
Oh.
A
B
A
B
It
lets
you
optionally,
back
up
user
home
folders
or
not
back
them
up,
yeah
right,
that's
what
the
wizard
was
doing.
It
was
giving
you
the
option
to
not
back
up
certain
ones,
yeah
cool.
This
is
a
cool
thing
and
I
like
that,
you
can
just
browse
it.
A
Well,
I'm
going
to
talk
a
little
bit
about
macram
reflects
and
at
least
in
windows
with
macro
reflect.
You
can
mount
its
its
entire
backup
as
a
drive
letter
and
then
browse
that
and
pull
stuff
out
now.
I
don't
know
how
it
would
be
with
backing
up
a
linux
computer,
but
you
know
at
least
it
will
have
an
image.
B
A
Folder
yeah,
as
as
of
8
11
at
6,
50
p.m.
B
Yep
and
I
I
would
imagine
that
it's
it's
only
backing
up
the
things
that
are
changing
like
between
the
dailies
and
the
weeklies
and
so
forth.
Otherwise
I
mean
do
you
know
how
much,
how
much
data
your
operating
system
and
your
how
much
data
is
being
used
on
your
internal
drive
right
now?
B
A
So
you
can
see
I'm
I'm
using
19
gigabytes
or
something
in
that
neighborhood
15,
69,
19,
gigabytes.
B
And
your
sd
card
is
using
about
what
what
did
it
say
like
25
out
of
32
or
something
like.
B
A
B
A
A
A
B
A
A
Hello
welcome
it's
missouri,
missouri,
okay,
good,
so
what
we're
doing
tonight
essentially,
is
talking
about
maintaining
your
linux
installation.
This
is
our
our
third
meeting
and
we
started
setting
up
the
computer
that
I've
been
sharing
the
screen
on
and
we're
about
25
into
this.
It
just
gives
you
an
idea
of
what
we've
accomplished
so
far
until
you
joined
us
right
now,
we're
talking
about
backup
programs.
A
Okay,
so
we
talked
about
time
shift,
so
I
personally
prefer
live
images
going
all
the
way
back
into
the
the
90s.
I
was
always
making
oops
they
need
to
back.
You
need
to
mute
guys
if
you're,
not
it's
got
noise
so
and-
and
I
use
mac
and
reflect
in
windows-
and
I
said
if
it'll
work
in
windows
and
if
I
can
boot
from
the
recovery
disk,
which
has
a
version
of
mac,
reflect
on
it,
it
should
back
up
anything
and
it
did
so.
I
can.
A
I
can
show
you
what
it
did
and
but
one
of
the
features
of
discs
is
that
it
does
have
the
ability
to
do
an
image
backup.
So,
first,
I'm
going
to
show
you
what
it
looks
like
right
from
the
distro
itself.
We
had.
We
had
taken
a
little
bit
of
a
look
at
it,
so
we'll
stop
share.
There
start
share
here.
B
A
Okay,
so
here
is
the
main
drive
on
this
lenovo
computer,
128,
gigabyte,
ssd
and
here's
that
sd
card
it
does
have
a
cdd
reader
on
it
nothing's
in
it,
and
then
here's
our
external
hard
drive
and-
and
is
it
going
to
show
me
what's
in
use
yeah?
A
A
Okay-
and
I
want
to
tell
it
to
save
it,
to
the
external
hard
drive
now,
I'm
going
to
tell
it
to
start
creating,
but
you're
going
to
see
it's
going
to
it's
going
to
tell
you
here
with
a
with
an
error
yeah
and
it
wants
to
unmount
the
samsung.
Now
it
would
not
mount
it
unmount
it
when
I
tried
it
from
here,
but
let's
just
take
a
look:
let's
see
if
it
unmounts
it
make
a
fire
out
of
me
and
save
me
from
having
to
boot.
A
A
It
made
a
disc
image,
but
it
made
a
clone
of
it
because
you
can
see
the
size
is
128.,
so
it
took
up
128
gigabytes
of
storage,
where
macrameflect
will
do
some
disk
compression
and
not
back
up
unused
sectors.
A
B
B
B
A
Now
on
this
particular
computer,
one
of
the
really
nice
things
about
it-
and
we
discussed
a
little
of
this
yesterday
too-
is
every
every
notebook,
has
usually
a
different
function,
key
to
get
to
your
boot
manager
and
choose
how
you
want
to
boot
it,
including
setting
the
bios
for
the
order.
This
lenovo
without.
B
A
A
A
And
my
comment
tim
was
that
this
this
version
was
made
with
the
rufus
setting
for
the
image
in
the
dd
settings.
When
I
had
it
set
for
iso
it
just
would
not
just
I
couldn't
even
get
that
first
menu,
but
anyway
it's
there
note
it
told
me:
I
had
a
wi-fi
available
so
for
those
that
are
setting
us
up
on
a
computer
and
all
you
got
to
do
is
go
find
the
wi-fi
and
give
it
the.
A
And
I'm
in
and
where
I
to
go,
install
linux
mint
at
this
point
it
keeps
that
setting
and
it
knew
it
when
I
did
the
install,
but
we're
not
here
to
do
the
install
but
at
least
we're
there
and
it
is
in
fact
seeing
the
signature
mini.
So
there
it's
sitting
up
there
and
you'd
think
well,
okay,
it
must
be
mounted.
B
And
128
save.
A
And
it
doesn't
give
me
any
choices
or
settings,
there's
compression
or
anything
like
that.
It's
just
rudimentary
give
me
a
give
me
an
image,
so
I'll
tell
it
to
start
I'll,
probably
stop
it
and
connected
to
another
port.
I
have
that
external.
I
got
all
kinds
of
usb
ports
on
this
notebook.
It's
old
enough
that
it
doesn't.
The
newer
ones
are
usually
just
coming
with
one
usb
3
and
and
one
usbc,
and
then
they
want
you
to
to
use
a
in
fact.
Let
me
grab
it
here.
A
If
I
still
see
it
yeah
I've
got
it
another
little
gadget,
which
is
a
hub.
So
if
I,
if
you
can
see
it,
when
you
look
at
my
image,
this
is
a
little
usbc
hub
and
it's
got.
A
Yeah,
it's
got
three
or
four.
Let's
see,
it's
got
three
usb
threes
on
there
and
an
hdmi
and
an
ethernet
on
the
end,
but
all
right,
let's
tell
it
to
start
creating
I'll,
stop
it,
but
let's
see
if
it
does
it
this
time.
Yep
there
goes.
So.
These
are
tiny,
tiny
little
letters
I
know,
but
you
can
probably
see
them
scrolling
on
on
your
screen
scrolling
on
your
screen
and
you
can
see
the
bar
is
starting.
A
A
A
The
the
disc
I'm
booting
from
is
from
the
paid
version
of
macrame
reflect.
It
has
a
lot
more
capabilities
in
terms
of
especially
in
terms
of
restoring
and
resizing,
but
I
did
try
it
with
the
free
version,
because
I
wanted
to
make
sure
the
free
could
at
least
access
it
and
make
a
backup
and
and
do
and
do
a
basic
recovery
and
it
and
it
does
so
they
they
have
not
crippled
their
free
version
for
just
imaging
a
computer.
B
Hey
mike,
what's
this
booting
into,
is
this
linux,
or
is
this
windows.
A
A
Prefer
if
it
was
linux,
but
this
seems
to
be
reasonably
fast
so
we'll
see
how
long
it
takes
here
to
load
everything
there.
We
go
okay,
so
I'm
I'm
now
in
a
screen
that
will
let
me
back
up
the
computer,
restore
the
computer
and,
let's
just
see
it
for
restore,
I
should
be
able
to
oh
and
I
should
even
be
able
to
explore
an
image
and
pull
stuff
out,
but
I
don't
want
to
so.
Let's
see
why
I'm
not
seeing
oh,
I
want
to
image
to
browse
for
an
image
file.
A
A
A
So,
on
the
first
of
august
I
was
able
to
make
an
image
and
it's
only
9.2
gigabytes
in
size.
A
B
A
Okay,
so
yet
again
another
image
back
up
yet
again,
another
bootable
drive
and
this
one
in
the
community
seems
to
be
the
one
that's
most
favored
clonezilla
can
be
used
for
everything
from
a
home
computer
to
major
network
setups,
including
backing
up
rate
arrays,
and
I
assume,
maybe
even
back
up
a
synology
file
server.
I
don't
know
and
when
I
first
researched
it
from
their
website
weather
update.
A
Oh,
I
just
got
a
weather
update.
Okay,
I
found
it
was
designed
literally
to
use
clonezilla
from
the
command
line.
However,
if
you
get
the
live
distro,
it
has
a
same
front
end
on
it
very
much
like
like
time
shift
does
and
that
front
end
will
go
through
on
a
script
and
prompt
you
for
things
on
how
to
back
it
up
and
how
to
make
an
image.
A
B
A
Work
with
disks
or
partitions
now
I
can
do
a
complete
clone
as
disks
did
by
going
down
to
to
this
one
okay,
but
I
want
to
work
with
this
the
same
way
as
macri
reflect
does
so
I
want
to
have
image
files,
so
I
I
use
that.
A
But
notice
sean
that
we
could
put
it
onto
a
server.
A
B
A
A
And
I
don't
want
to
check
and
repair,
and
where
do
I
want
to
put
it
okay,
the
one
thing
I
forgot
to
do
on
the
signature
mini
was
to
put
a
folder
for
the
destination.
I
thought
this
would
go
ahead
and
do
it
so
I
had
actually
put
a
folder
for
pictures
on
here,
so
I
said
all
right
what
the
heck,
I
will
just
go
ahead
and
choose
that
folder
and
then
I'll
just
move
it
into
the
root
after
when
I'm
done
so
it'll
it'll
be
in
my
pictures.
A
B
A
A
B
A
A
A
And
input
a
name
and
so
on
and
so
forth.
So
at
this
point
once
I
say,
ok
it'll
start
making
the
backup-
and
I
think
you
saw
it
earlier,
but
when
I
go
back
into
linux,
you'll
see
that
the
clonezilla
image
is
on
the
hard
drive.
So
I'm
just
going
to
go
ahead
and
just
I'm
just
going
to
abort
this
right
in
the.
A
A
While
I'm
waiting
for
this
any
comments
on
the
time
shift
or
the
image
backups
questions.
A
B
A
B
B
A
B
A
B
A
A
B
It
is,
does
clonezilla
have
the
option
to
back
up
the
changes
that.
A
Kind
of
thing:
let's
see
what
oh
yeah.
Well,
I
see
what
you're
saying.
Yes,
I'm
pretty
sure
you
know
in
what
we
went
through.
I
didn't
go
through,
maybe
some
of
the
other
options
that
were
there
like.
Do
you
only
want
to
get
changes
that
kind
of
thing,
but
I
think
if
you
actually
use
it
as
a
command
line
utility
and
don't
use
the
wizard
like
I
was,
I
think
you
can
specify.
Not
only
can
you
specify
compression,
but
I
think
you
can
also
specify
changed
files.
A
B
Mike
yes,
go
ahead
off
hand
since
you
are
in
linux
mint.
There
is
a
backup
tool
in
there
with
two
options,
and
one
of
them
is
just
to
back
up
your
home
directory.
B
I'm
assuming
it'll
work
with
either
a
single
partition,
installation
or
a
broken
up
partition
type
of
installation,
and
then
you
also
have
the
system
backup
how
good
it
is.
I
don't
know
I
haven't
invested.
So
what?
What.
A
A
B
Let's,
let's
see
this
is
the
xt4,
so
let's
just
do
it
and
can
I
create
a
folder
while
I'm
here.
B
I
just
put
it
there:
maybe
it'll
set
it
in
the
root,
add
files
or
directories
so
documents.
B
A
B
B
A
Okay
and
the
other
would
be
software,
I
guess,
and
let's
look
at
that.
A
B
A
B
Doing
anything
at
the
moment,
maybe
I
didn't
select
it.
Let's
try
again
it's
a
program.
You
can
set
it
up
so
that
it
runs
automatically
at
startup,
which
I
have
it,
and
it's
just
to
help
reduce
the
blue
to
a
reddish
color.
A
I
see
a
little
change
yeah,
I
see
a
little
change
going
on
in
the
I
may
not
be
coming
across
on
the
screen.
My
screen
is
fluctuating
if
it's
trying
to
do
something,
but
it's
not
actin
doesn't
want
to.
Maybe
because
I'm
screen
sharing
it's
not
going
to.
Let
me
do
it.
A
A
Oh
then
I
got
to
get
back
in
here
and
reshare
and
all
that
don't
I
is
there
something
like
the
task
manager
in
linux,
where
you
can
stop
a
process,
kill
sure.
B
A
B
Know
the
exact
process
that
you
want
to
kill.
I.
B
You
want
to
go
into
your
system,
monitor,
okay
system,
monitor,
should
have
all
your
processes
system
monitor
and
let's
see,
devices
processes
and
let's
see,
if
there's
a.
A
A
Okay,
now
the
screen's
nice
and
no
it's
still
messing
up.
Let
me
see.
B
B
Let's
see,
if
I
do
say,
kill,
kill,
process
that
did
it
and
one
more
and
kill
I
like
this
one.
This
is
kill
it.
A
B
A
A
A
A
A
B
A
So
we
noticed
when
I
first
turned
the
computer
on
that
down
here.
I
have
an
alert
that
says:
six
updates
are
available,
so
this
is
coming
from
the
software
manager
and
the
software
manager.
If
I
click
on
it
is
going
to
tell
me
or
not,
software
manager,
the
update
manager.
Excuse
me
it's
going
to
tell
me
what
is
available
to
be
updated
much
of
what's
here.
I
probably
have
no
idea
what
it
is.
A
I
do
know
that
ssh
has
to
do
with
the
ability
to
control
a
remote
machine
and
sean
actually
showed
me
how
this
was
used
when
we
accessed
the
the
synology
from
one
of
our
other
computers
secure,
socket
slayer.
I
know
that
has
to
do
with
how
encryption
is
used
inside
of
the
web
to
communicate
I'm
using
brave
browser
on
here
as
one
of
the
primary
browsers.
A
So
it's
got
an
update
and
I've
installed,
but
not
activated
proton
vpn,
because
we've
had
some
proton
vpn
problems
with
with
linux
mint,
and
I
I
just
didn't
want
to
have
that
same
problem,
but
at
least
there's
some
updates.
So
if
you
wish,
you
can
just
say,
install
updates
and
off
it
goes
now.
A
I
like
this
is
one
case
where
I
do
like
to
use
the
terminal,
because
it's
quick
and
I
can
watch
the
process
and
then,
if
I
wish
I
can
come
back
to
the
update,
manage
and
see
if
anything's
left,
so
I'm
going
to
open
up
the
terminal
and
now
this
is
something
that
nobody's
explained
to
me.
Yet
there's
two
forms
of
the
command
apt.
A
A
B
Mike
yep
go
ahead,
there's
a
little
bit
simpler
than
what
you're
doing
right
now.
Okay,.
B
If
you
use
the
arrow
keys
and
up
arrow,
it
brings
back
from
the
bottom
up
your
commands
that
you've
previously
keyed
in
and
then
you
can
use
the
left
and
right
arrow
keys
to
position
it
and
or
use
the
backspace
key.
B
A
B
I
haven't
understood
that
myself,
it's
just
a
case
where
things
are
evolving.
It
used
to
be.
You
had
to
do.
Sudo
apt,
dash,
get
space,
update,
app.
B
You're
right
yeah
and
that's
the
old
style
of
doing
it.
They
drop
the
dash
get
and
it
does
exactly
the
same
thing.
B
A
B
Misspelled
dispel
uprage
yeah
might
have
that
too.
No,
you
got
you
g
yeah,
you're,
missing.
A
B
B
And
as
far
as
the
the
dual
keyboards
and
mice
I
had
that
last
night
I.
A
Know
my
my
vision
was
of
an
organ
player.
You
know
with
his
five
rows
of
keys
and.
A
And
his
feet,
I
don't
have.
I
don't
have
to
step
on
anything
all
right.
So
now
it's
it's
going
to
tell
you
how
much
it's
going
to
actually
add
which
that
you
know
it's
fine.
I
got
plenty
of
room.
Okay.
Now
I'm
going
to
keep
my
eye
because
I'm
not
broadcasting
where
my
fingers
are
I'm
going
to
keep
my
eye
down
here
on
the
alert.
A
A
A
A
So
it's
it's
done,
and
this
guy's
done
okay,
one
more
thing
that
normally
wouldn't
be
considered
updating
or
upgrading,
but
in
the
software
manager
the
repositories
themselves
can
be
updated,
and
this
is
done
over
here
and
you
can
refresh
the
list
of
packages,
so
you
may
actually
wind
up.
It's
actually
generating
a
cache
which
will
stay
on
your
computer
and
when
you
go
searching
for
something
you'll
have
the
latest.
A
A
This
is
the
installed
version,
and
I
think
it's
here,
if
I
remember
correctly
so,
let's
yep
there-
it
is
so
in
between
the
time
of
installing
mint
64
from
the
latest,
downloaded
distro
and
booting
it
connecting
to
the
internet
and
trying
to
install
zoom
this
way
and
a
mature
package
that's
been
installed
for
about
three
and
a
half
months
now,
somewhere
in
there
during
the
update
zoom
got
added
to
the
repositories
that
this
goes
and
looks.
For
so
that's
nice.
B
A
It
is
nine
o'clock,
I
am
getting
a
little
foggy
and
there's
a
few
other
things
that
will
probably
take
half
hour.
45
minutes
and
my
throat
needs
a
drink
and
I
need
to
run
to
the
restroom
in
a
bit.
So
I
think
I'm
gonna
call
it
at
two
hours
and
instead
I'm
going
to
jump
down
to
resources
and
cover
those
real,
quick.
A
Apc-Ug
is
having
a
special
learning.
Linux.
Excuse
me:
that's
the
next
one
apc
ug
on
its
wednesday
workshops,
which
included
security,
data,
backup
and
recovery.
A
It
was
about
a
two
and
a
half
hour
workshop
and
john
kennedy's
portion
on
data
backup,
which
includes
a
number
of
backup
programs
that
we
didn't
cover
tonight,
including
the
ones
that
are
in
linux,
mint
itself,
and
I
don't
believe
he
covered
clonezilla
either
so
there's
more
stuff
to
investigate
anyway.
They're
always
good.
If
you
want
to
watch
the
whole
thing,
just
take
this
youtube
link
and
take
out
anything
after
the
question
mark
you
get
it
right
from
the
start.
A
A
They're
going
to
talk
about
some
new
things,
they
want
to
keep
it
as
simple
as
possible,
but
if
you're
also
looking
for
clarification
of
things
that
you
picked
up
either
here
with
the
chicago
group
or
any
of
the
other
groups,
just
take
a
take.
A
look
at
this
link
to
register
for
that
workshop
and
you
have
to
register
before
11
30
p.m.
On
august
24th
to
attend
online,
I
have
gone
to
a
couple
of
interesting
sites.
A
A
A
So
if
you
would
like
to
see
what's
going
on
on
your
computer,
try
the
I
n
x,
I
command
without
the
switch.
This
is
one
of
about
20
or
30
different
switches.
You
can
get
and
you're
going
to
get
a
ton
of
information,
and
if
you
want
to
know
what
this
command
can
actually
do,
there's
a
command
in
the
terminal
called
manual.
A
It's
abbreviated
m-a-n.
If
you
say
m-a-n
space
I-n-x-I,
you
get
a
very
comprehensive
manual
of
all
the
information
that
you
can
pull
out
about
your
system,
your
network,
your
your
distribution,
your
settings,
lots
and
lots
of
stuff.
A
It
even
has
a
command
to
get
the
current
weather,
so
not
that
you
can't
get
the
weather
from
somewhere
else.
Anyway,
looks
very
interesting,
and
I
will
probably
look
at
this
between
now
and
the
next
time
we
meet
just
to
see
what
else
I
can
pick
up
from
it
all
right.
Let
me
close
this.
A
Okay,
I
still
for
those
of
you
that
aren't
familiar
with
me.
We,
the
problems
with
facebook,
whether
trying
to
stay
neutral
as
far
as
partisanship
is
concerned,
their
privacy
problems
they've
had
being
fined
by
governments
worldwide
about
data
sharing,
which
they
just
kind
of
look
at
as
a
cost
of
doing
business.
A
I
just
said
in
december,
I'm
done
with
facebook
and
I
want
something
that
can
be
as
neutral
as
possible
and
I
found
the
mewi
site
and
on
the
meew
site
I
found
a
linux
group,
which
I
thought
was
pretty
good.
I'm
just
going
to
take
a
very
quick
look
just
to
show
you
what
it
looks
like,
except
I've
got
to
click
on
it
in
the
right
place.
B
A
Okay,
so
this
is
the
the
basic
screen
of
melee.
I
did
a
presentation
for
ap
cug
on
it.
It's
in
there
it's
in
their
youtube
channel
on
their
on
their
wednesday
workshops,
and
it
was
one
of
their
hour-long
segments
on
it
and
we
covered
all
the
capabilities
of
melee.
The
basic
the
basic
meewi
is
free.
A
It
is
a
public
group,
but
they
want
you
to
post
something
that
they'll
approve
and
from
then
on
you're
in
if
you're
interested
of
anything
in
particular
many
of
the
posts
are
hashtagged
and
you
can
you
can
go
down
through
this
and
just
every
day,
there's
something
new
to
look
at
and
get
you
know,
tips
and
techniques.
A
I
mentioned
our
special
interest
group
and
you
meant
I'd
already
talked
about
inxi,
so
here's
a
screenshot
of
what
that
inxi
manual
looks
like
and
I
posted
for
them,
so
they
could
take
a
look
at
it
and
see.
What's
there,
it's
not
the
whole
manual,
but
just
you
know
quick
and
somebody
else
came
back
in
and
said
how
great
a
tool
it
is.
So
it's
a
it's
a
place
to
hang
out,
get
good
posts
to
put
your
own
tips
and
techniques
in
and
to
get
information
back.
A
So
that's
just
a
suggestion
to
to
check
it
out
if
you're
not
on
mewi
and
you
click
that
you'll
be
offered
an
opportunity
to
open
up
a
free
account
and
let's
see
what
else
I
have
here.
I
think
it's
just
the
final
screen
so
next
month
we'll
continue
those
things
we
missed
right
now,
sean
and
I
are
involved
in
a
process
of
figuring
out
exactly
how
we
can
set
up
a
peer-to-peer
network
between
linux,
windows
and
or
mac
computers.
A
The
proper
way
and
in
that,
of
course
we're
trying
to
make
sure
that
it's
communicating
with
our
synology
disk
stations
properly,
but
I
don't
have
much
hair
left
and
I've
been
doing
a
lot
of
tearing
out
of
hair.
A
When
I
brought
this
up
with
john
kennedy,
I'm
mentioning
your
name
again,
john.
If
you're
watching
this
video,
he
said
I
don't
even
mess
with
that,
he
said.
I
just
use
online
sharing
services
like
dropbox
google
drive,
microsoft,
drive
pcloud,
which
he
really
likes,
and
I've
got
installed
and
I'm
playing
with
it
and
to
me
those
are
all
sort
of
a
cluj.
You
kind
of
want
to
open
your
file
manager
as
I'm
about
to
do
here
and
then,
when
you
bring
your
file
manager
in.
A
And
you
want
that
to
show
you
what's
available
now
I've
got
a
cell
phone.
That's
on
my
network.
I've
got
another
linux
computer,
that's
on
my
network.
I've
got
this
windows
computer,
that's
on
the
network,
and
I've
got
my
file
stations
on
the
network.
I'll
see
my
file
station
there's
my
my
file
station
there's
a
common
folder
on
it
that
that
I
am
in
fact
using
among
the
computers
that
can
get
to
the
file
station.
So
here
is
this
month's.
A
A
Of
networks,
I'd
like
to
see
my
two
linux
computers-
and
I
still
don't
so
we're
investigating-
and
I
thought
if
we
have
the
solution
by
next
month.
In
addition
to
talking
about
the
stuff
we
left
off,
I
kind
of
like
to
to
talk
about
sharing
files
a
little
more
boring,
but
we
probably
ought
to
know
what
file
types
we
have
to
work
with
in
linux
and
what
the
structure
is
and
where
they're
located
I'll
skip
down
a
minute.
A
A
But
maybe
if
I
install
wine
and
then
I
I
use
that
to
access
windows
apps,
maybe
I
can
do
that,
so
I
will
be
investigating
and
if,
if
we
get
that
resolved,
that
would
be
a
subject
for
a
future
one
and
there's
always
the
terminal,
as
tim
mentioned
and
basic
commands,
so
that
just
like
the
pseudo
update
and
upgrade
to
me,
those
are
basic
commands
that
everybody
ought
to
know.
Maybe
a
few
intermediate
ones
and
then
for
those
of
us
that
are
bored
with
the
basic
intermediate
stuff.
A
So
that's
kind
of
what's
on
my
list
and
if
anybody
has
any
suggestions
now
I
can
add
it
to
it
or
if
you
want
to
email
me,
you
can
do
that
or
those
of
you
that
are
in
the
google
group
for
this
sig.
You
can
just
send
an
email
to
cfcs,
linuxcig
at
googlegroups.com,
with
the
proper
dashes
and
underscores,
and
I
will
send
the
video
out.
You
can
just
reply
to
that
and
and
make
your
suggestions
if
you
like
and
I'll,
take
any
comments
that
you'd
like
to
make
at
this
point.
B
Well
off
hand,
I
don't
know
if
it
fits
in
with
your
peer-to-peer
stuff,
but
going
back
quite
a
number
of
years,
a
tool
that
young
kids
got
familiar
with
is
still
available.
It's
called
bnc
virtual
network
connection.
You
might
want
to
look
into
that
vnc,
okay,.
B
A
Yes,
I
I
have
been
doing
a
lot
of
talking
a
la
a
la
the
window's
sick.
So
that's
that's
a
good
point.
When
we
do
our
our
tech
cigs
in
in
and
the
apple
sig
for
that
matter,
it
really
isn't
a
presentation,
it's
it's.
Everybody
has
something
to
say
and
to
share
and
we
could
certainly
do
an
entire
meeting
where
that's
all
we
do
is
go
around.
Of
course,
the
the
risk
is
that
nobody's
got
anything
to
say,
but
hopefully
there
are
others
that
that
are
as
verbose
as
I
am.
A
Do
a
reply
all
not
just
to
me
if
you
reply
all
to
our
our
group
emails,
it
goes
out
to
the
group
and
we'll
be
doing
this
again
next
month.
Thank
you
for
your
attendance.
Hey
thanks
mike.
