Central Florida Computer Society Linux Special Interest Group Zoom meeting recording, 8 December 2021. Please click the thumbs up icon to show us you took a look at the video.
A
As
you
can
see,
I
have
four
key
items:
we're
in
the
informal
discussion
phase
and
then
we're
going
to
switch
to
our
round
robin
discussions,
questions
and
I'm
going
to
talk
about
resources
and
topics
for
upcoming
linux
sig
meetings.
Actually,
I'm
going
to
move
that
up
because
I'm
going
to
talk
about
the
survey
I
set
out
and
then
I
have
a
few
things
which
I
can
demonstrate
as
long
as
you
have
some
perseverance
to
hang
on
with
us.
A
Okay,
dick
vogel
just
joined
us
welcome
dick,
so
we've
had
some
communication
with
the
barksdale.
I
think
it
was
barksdale.
I
don't
have
to
brookdale
look
too
I'll
double
check,
because
I've
got
the
weblink
computer
user
group
in
new
jersey,
donna
armitage
came
across
their
meeting
announcements
for
this
evening.
They
hold
their
meeting
their
linux
sig
meetings
on
the
second
wednesday
of
each
month
at
7,
00
pm
eastern
time,
and
she
suggested
to
me
about
a
week
or
week
a
half
ago.
B
A
Was
a
very
good
idea,
and
so
I
attempted
for
most
of
the
last
week
and
a
half
to
get
a
hold
of
them
and
did
not
actually
get
through
to
them
until
yesterday,
at
which
time
both
of
us
had
planned
for
our
regular
wednesday
meetings,
but
each
of
us
said
yep.
That
sounds
like
a
great
idea
and
let's
plan
for
january.
So
as
it
stands
now,
the
january
meeting
will
be
a
combined
meeting.
Let
me
share
my
screen
again
and
go
to
that.
A
A
As
we
are
now
talking,
they're
two
sig
leaders,
co-cig
leaders,
lee
maxwell
and
bill
chris
and
according
to
their
information,
they
have
a
quite
a
background
in
linux
and
lee
is
stating
that
they're
going
to
be
talking
about
linux,
desktop
environments.
A
So
tonight
they're
going
to
start
with
a
linux
desktop
environment,
I'm
not
sure
which
one
they're
going
to
endless
os.
I
guess,
and
then
each
week
they're
going
to
show
a
different
or
each
month
a
different
desktop
environment,
that's
sort
of
what
we've
done,
except
we're
doing
a
whole
distro
once
a
quarter,
and
this
thing
wants
to
keep
refreshing.
So
I'm
just
going
to
go
ahead
and
close
it.
But
that's
the
plan
for
january
looking
ahead
and
I'll
have
more
information
to
send
out
to
all
of
you.
A
Folks,
when
that
comes
up
okay,
so
I
sent
a
survey
out
I'm
going
to
refresh
the
screen
just
in
case
we
got
more
than
six
respondents.
A
I
use
surveymonkey,
which
is
nice,
it's
free
and
yeah.
We
got
six
respondents.
Actually
we
got
five
because
I'm
one
of
the
six
I
had
to
test
it.
So
I
asked
some
questions
and
I
said
how
satisfied
are
you
with
the
linux
sig?
Well,
that's
me,
of
course,
I
would
say
I've
learned
everything
that
I've
said.
If
I
didn't
know
it,
I
probably
wouldn't
have
said
it
or
I
would
have
asked
so.
A
The
vast
majority
of
you
are
saying:
you're
learning
a
lot
and
you'd
like
you'd
like
it
to
continue
so
the
five
who
actually
responded.
Besides
myself
indicated
they'd
like
to
keep
doing
so,
they
had
the
opportunity
to
say
I'm
not
happy.
They
also
said
they're
they're,
not
happy
with
the
group
and
you
haven't
met
my
needs
yet
so
I
didn't
get
any
of
those.
So
that's
positive
reinforcement.
A
A
Let's,
let's
do
that
and
one
of
the
respondents
I'll
go
down
to
it
said,
encourage
from
attendees
two
presentations,
minimum
of
interest
to
them
at
least
15
minutes
each
over
the
year.
So
that
means
you
regulars
sometime,
maybe
once
every
six
months
or
so
pick
a
subject
that
you'd
like
to
talk
about
and
demonstrate
and
share
your
screen.
It
doesn't
have
to
be
a
formal
presentation.
It
can
be
if
you
like,
with
a
presentation
manager,
but
it
lets
you
get
in
and
do
stuff.
A
The
other
thing
that
I'm
learning
too
in
working
with
donna
over
the
last
couple
of
weeks
is
we've
tried
a
number
of
remote
control
sessions
where
I've
used
both
teamviewer
and
I've
also
used
zoom's
one-on-one
remote
control,
which
is
pretty
good.
Now.
The
big
advantage
of
of
seeing
somebody
else's
screen
is
really
providing
the
oral
instruction
and
having
that
person
do
it.
A
So
I'm
going
to
practice
that
tonight,
if
donna
joins
us,
she
wants
to
talk
about
screenshots,
how
to
capture
screenshots,
and
so
my
last
email
to
her
was
if
you're
going
to
join
us
tonight,
we'll
let
you
scare
share
your
screen
and
then
I'll
talk
you
through
setting
up
screenshots
rather
than
me,
demonstrating
it
on
my
computer
and
we'll
see
how
that
works.
If
we
have
the
opportunity
to
do
that,
otherwise
I'll
demonstrate.
B
A
A
Apc
ug
has
had
some
excellent
wednesday
workshops
on
using
the
terminal.
So
when
I
get
to
a
certain
point
and
we
actually
decide
we're
going
to
talk
about
using
the
terminal,
I'm
probably
going
to
send
out
a
survey
again
and
say:
okay,
what
are
some
of
the
things
you're?
Finding
that
in
your
distribution
that
you
use
on
a
regular
basis,
you
just
can't
do
things
with
the
graphical
user
interface
and
then
I'll
see.
If
I
can't
find
the
terminal
commands
that
would
be
appropriate
for
doing
something
like
that.
A
Let's
see
what
else
we
have
here
so
comments,
essentially
the
attendees
one
says
I'm
not
a
linux
user,
but
do
play
a
little
with
it,
enjoy
learning
more
about
it
and
have
learned.
So
that's
good.
B
But
I
don't
have
my,
I
can't
my
linux
machine
for
some
reason,
I'm
having
lots
of
trouble.
I
can't
get
the.
C
B
The
seminar
on
it,
I
don't
know
why
I've
sent
the
email
to
the
email
address,
nothing's
working,
but
I
try
to
get
into
the
other
meeting
and
because
it's
google
groups
and
I'm
using
an
apple
ipad,
I'm
not
getting
into
that
either
even
with
the
zoom
link.
So
for
right
now,
I'm
I'm
in
your
class,
but
I'm
on
ken's
windows
machine
which
won't
help
you
install
the
screenshot.
B
A
google
group,
even
when
I
have
the
zoom
link,
it
doesn't
work.
So
I'm
just
sharing
with
you.
It's
really
difficult,
plus
they
don't
record
to
my
knowledge.
Okay,
so
you
might
want
to
host
it.
B
A
Thank
you.
Thank
you
for
your
recommendation,
but
given
that
it's
going
to
be
the
first
one
I'm
going
to,
let
them
do
it
and
we'll
see
if
we
can't
all
get
in,
but
what
I
will
do
is
try
to
practice
it
ahead
of
time,
I'll,
join,
meet
up
and
I'll
try
to
set
it
up
and
I'll.
You
know
I've
got
multiple
computers
here,
so
I
can
try
different
things.
D
D
Yes,
I
don't
know
what
they
may
have
done
as
far
as
the
link
goes,
but
I
have
a
one
group
in
the
chicago
area
that
I'd
say
most
of
the
time
he
sends
out
the
invitation
with
the
link
as
text
not
as
a
live
link,
and
when
you
do
that
the
person
receiving
it
has
to
know
to
highlight
it
to
do
a
copy,
and
then
you
gotta
paste
it
into
the
browser
url
and
hit
enter,
and
I'm
not
familiar
with
the
ipad
that
much
so,
but
I'm
pretty
positive
you'd
have
to
do
probably
the
same
thing
is
highlight
the
the
link
copy
it
and
then
put
it
in
the
browser
url
line
hit
enter
or
whatever
you
hit
on
a
apple
pad
and
go.
D
B
D
Let's
be
careful
about
some
of
the
word
which
just
did
meetup
is
a
like.
A
social
media
gathering
place
so
that
people
who
are
interested
in
some
topic
can
join
other
people
in
having
kind
of
like
a
meeting,
but
there
is
google
meet.
D
Google
meet
is
very
similar
to
google,
hangouts
and
google
voice,
where
you
can
do
group
type
meetings
of
kind
of
in
the
same
vein
as
zoom,
but
it
is
a
google
product
and
I
don't
know
if
apple
is
blocking
that
or
not.
A
B
B
A
A
So,
let's,
let's
start
with
tim,
besides
preparing
for
chicago's
winter
weather,
we're
super
it's
going
to
be
mild.
What
are
you
doing?
What
have
you
done
with
linux
and
what
are
you
doing
with
linux
over
the
last
30
days,
since
last,
we
met.
D
Well,
I
haven't
done
a
a
heck
of
a
lot
other
than
keeping
up
with
the
updates
in
part,
because
I
have
been
sick
and
at
the
same
time
too,
I
had
something
else
in
mind
to
do
that
needs
to
be
done,
and
I
haven't
even
been
able
to
touch
that.
D
So
I
haven't
gotten
a
whole
lot
done.
I
can't
focus
and
concentrate
on
some
of
my
normal
stuff.
Otherwise
I
would
have
probably
been
doing
a
lot
more,
but
I
was
lucky
to
get
done.
What
I
did
are.
D
A
D
Or
just
well,
it's
just
a
a
case
where
I
got
into
chrome
within
a
year
of
them
coming
out
with
it.
I
still
have
laying
around
here
collecting
dust,
some
acer
c710s.
D
The
funny
thing
is
I
recently
while
I
was
sick
anyhow
and
that
broke
into
one
of
them,
and
I
must
not
have
remembered
something
because
most
chromebooks,
they
have
soldered
in
components
anymore
and
the
c710.
D
It
uses
sodium
sockets.
So
you
can
go
up
to
eight
gigs
on
the
darn
thing,
which
I
didn't
remember.
You
can
also
pull
out
the
solid
state,
16
gigabyte,
ssd
and
replace
it
with
any
standard
two
and
a
half
inch,
ssd
or
spinning
hard
drive.
D
And
I,
if
you
go
to
look
up
gallium
os,
it's
based
on
ubuntu,
with
a
xfce
desktop
and
a
lot
of
models
of
home
book
that
are
out
of
date,
you're
not
getting
any
more
chrome
os
updates.
D
You
can
get
a
kind
of
like
a
patch
to
the
os,
repurpose
them
and
then
install
the
gallium
os,
which
is
designed
for
the
chromebooks
and
chrome
boxes
and
use
it
like
a
regular
linux
laptop
in
my
case,
of
course,
the
7c.
D
The
c710
is
a
11.6
inch
screen,
they're
only
hd
quality,
so
it's
not
the
greatest
thing
in
the
world,
but
it
would
work
perfectly
fine.
I
have
a
an
old
windows
stream,
hp
laptop
that
came
with
windows.
It
was
a
dog.
D
I
changed
that
to
linux
a
year
and
a
half
two
years
ago,
and
it
works
a
lot
better
than
it
did
with
ten.
That's
for
darn
sure,
and
most
of
this
is
because
the
processors,
especially
in
chromebooks,
most
of
them,
are
lightweight
mine-
were
all
intel
based
versus
arm
chips
and
the
chips
that
were
used.
The
most
were
celeron,
which
means
you
haven't,
got
a
lot
of
horsepower
there
and
I
think
in
the
710.
D
It's
a
celeron,
2
core
1.1
gigabyte
processor.
To
begin
with
so
you're
not
getting
much
there
and
you're
better
off
with
a
pentium
base,
a
core
i3
or
core
i5.
If
you
can
find
them
and
afford
them,
that's
most
of
what
I've
occasionally
worked
on
in
the
last
30
days,.
A
E
Think
I'm
working
yes,
you
are
okay
tim.
I
have
an
acer
c710
out
in
the
garage
that
I
have
played
with
2.
and
yes,
I
did
upgrade
the
memory
on
it
and
I
put
in
a
solid-state
drive
on
and
so
it
it
and
I
changed
the
operating
system
from
chrome
to
peppermint
os
peppermint.
E
It's
it's
not
xfce,
something
else,
but
that's
close
to
the
same
thing
and
and
it
works
very
good-
I
had
to
upgrade
the
bios
on
it,
but
that
was
interesting
because
when
you
flash
the
bios,
you
never
know
what's
going
to
happen,
but
it
worked
and-
and
I'm
I'm
happy
with
it-
it
makes
I
haven't,
really
found
a
good
use
for
it,
but
it's
still
out
there-
and
I
know
it
still
works
every
now
and
then
I'll
turn
it
on
and
it
still
does
update.
So
I
let
it
go.
E
No.
I
I
I
use
linux
as
my
main
computer,
I'm
using
linux
mint.
What
is
it
20
or
whatever
it
is?
Maybe
21.2.
This
is
the
latest
one
and
I
I've
been
on
on
I've
been
on
mint
well
back
since
about
10
or
11,
and
I
I
I
like
the
system,
it's
very
good.
I
even
sent
them
some
money
a
couple
times,
so
it's
a
good
system
for
me.
E
I
don't
have
windows
machines
in
my
house,
so
I
don't
you,
I'm
not
tempted
to
use
windows,
but
I
do
use
some
chromebooks
and,
and
my
what
I
why
happened
to
me
in
the
last
couple
weeks
is
I
wanted.
I
have
a
little
it's
right
here
and
I
can
let
you
see
it.
E
I've
got
one
of
these
chromebook,
they
call
this
a
duel
and
it's
it's
a
nice
system,
but
the
keyboard
comes
apart
on
it,
so
you
can
just
make
a
tablet
out
of
it
and
it's
it's
a
very
nice
system.
The
only
trouble
is
the
screen
is
very
small.
It
makes
that
one
on
the
on
the
the
acer
c710
look
like
a
big
screen.
This
is
this
is
small
and
I
I
haven't.
E
I
have
some
eyesight
problems
and
having
trouble
seeing
them,
so
I
wanted
to
get
something
I
could
see
better
and
use
it.
I
I
do
a
chromebook
say
once
a
month
over
here
and
one
time
we
had
like
40
people
in
our
club
using
chromebooks.
Well,
that
number
is
way
down.
It
might
be
down
in
the
single
digits
right
now,
all
right
and
and
I
I
I
I've
tried
to
stay
up
to
date
with
chrome,
but
it
is
it's
a
string
system,
but
I
I
like
it
now.
E
I
bought
a
new
computer
one
I
can
see
and
I
wanted
to
just
get
something
that
was
a
workhorse
that
had
an
11
inch
screen.
I
could
see
not
that
nine
inch
screen
of
that
little
tablet
thing,
and
so
I
got.
I
found
an
11
inch
one
and
I
found
this
on
ebay
and
it
said
it
had
no
steel
case.
E
E
And
if
you
remember,
if
you've
worked
on
any
of
this
tim
or
mike
or
anybody
that's
played
with
chromebooks
there,
there
was
this
company
called
neverwhere
that
came
out
with
something
called
cloud
ready
and
they
they.
They
tried
to
sell
this
to
school
systems
that
had
a
lot
of
of
windows.
Computers
were
out
of
date
and
they
licensed
them
the
same
way.
E
Google
license
school
systems,
you
know
like
where,
where
they
can
manage
what
you
can
do
with
the
computer
and
and
so
on,
but
and
they
always
offered
a
system
where
the
home
user
it
was
free,
they
actually
encouraged
you
to
use
this
well
somewhere
along
the
line
about
a
year
ago,
neverwhere
and
cloud
ready
were
bought
by
google
so
now
they're
owned
by
google.
E
Obviously,
this
computer
had
to
have
been
designed
and
sold
before
the
the
split
up
and
and
and
are
the
before,
that
google
owned
neverwhere
right
now,
even
on
their
website
neverwhere's
website,
it's
awfully
hard
to
find
information,
but
I'm
finding
this
neverwhere
almost
chromebook
is
not
truly
a
chromebook,
because
it's
got
different
keys
on
the
keyboard.
E
It's
more.
It
looks
more
like
a
windows
or
a
regular
pc.
It's
got.
It's
got
the
function
keys
along
the
top.
Instead
of
those
special
keys,
you
know
for
for
for
doing
separate
tasks
and,
and
then,
but
there
are
some
keystroke
things
you
can
make.
It
do
some
of
the
other
things,
but
everything's
just
a
little
different.
But
you
know
I
was
a
little
disappointed
with
this,
but
I
love
the
quality
of
it,
my
goodness
it
came
very
nice.
E
It's
got
excellent
quality
and-
and
it's
not
all,
that
heavy
battery
is
good
for
like
eight
hours,
not
bad,
and
it's
got
an
older
processor
in
it.
But
that's
okay
and
it's
got
four
four
gigs
of
ram
so
yeah.
I
can
do
some
of
the
newer
things
with
it.
You
can't
do
with
with
the
older
chromebooks.
E
So
that's
where
I
played
a
lot
of
my
time.
The
linux
just
works
for
me.
I
I
use
it
every
day
and
it's
it's
my
work
horse.
I
I
use
most
of
the
out
of
the
box
on
mint
things,
mint
utilities
and-
and
I
love
them-
I
I've
learned
to
like
them.
I
I
put
some
in
myself,
but
pretty
much,
I'm
I'm,
I'm
I'm
on
the
linux
and
when
I'm
not
in
linux,
I'm
on
one
of
the
chromebooks,
so
that
that's
that's
about
where
I'm
at.
A
E
Don't
I
have
not
tried
it
yet
I
I
I
I
would
think
so.
You
know
there's
a
heck
of
a
lot
of
information
on
wine
from
neverwhere.
Unfortunately,
they
never
they
never
cleaned
up
the
site,
and
so
there's
like
about
two
or
three
years
of
of
well.
It
looks
to
me
like
it's
teeny
users
that
got
on
and
all
they
did
wanted
to
do
was
trash
the
system.
You
know,
and
there
were
mac
users
and
things
with
this.
Chromebook
isn't
as
good
as
my
mac.
E
A
They
exist
on
the
neverwear
site.
It
might
be
interesting
just
to
see
if
you
can
boop
any
live,
distro
yeah.
If
the
bios
allowed
it,
you
could
image
the
chromebook
image
than
everywhere
macrium
or
something
similar
and
then
overwrite.
What's
there
with
it,
with
your
linux,
mint
distro
and
see
if
it
runs
and
then,
if
you
wanted
to
put
it
back,
then
just
put
the
image
back.
E
Right
or
if
I
could,
or
if
I
could
even
I
I
was
hoping
I
I
searched
google
a
lot.
I
was
hoping
that
somebody
had
got
one
of
these
neverwhere
computers,
they're
still
being
sold
on
ebay
for
130
bucks
if
you're
interested,
but
I
I
would
think
that
somewhere,
I
should
be
able
to
boot.
You
would
think
google
would
have
come
out
with
on
with
an
operating
system
for
chrome
that
would
have
booted
right
on
these
computers.
E
You
know
and
you
you
would
think
it
would
be
to
google's
advantage
to
make,
since
they
own
the
company,
to
make
these
neverwhere
computers
very
usable.
You
know
and
and
bring
them
up
to
date
and
wouldn't
seem
like
it
should
take
them.
You
know
they
they
make
special
systems
for
like
about
20
different
manufacturers.
E
Make
these
things.
I
can
tell
you
about
one,
the
class
I
was
teaching
a
few
years
ago
down
at
the
club.
I
had
a
fellow
who
bought
a
new
chromebook
and
brought
it
in,
and
he
said
this
is
trash.
I
can't
do
anything
on
it.
E
I
looked
at
it
and
I
was
since
I
was
doing
the
class.
I
said
all
right,
but
just
let
it
hear
with
me
he
was
so
disgusted.
He
just
didn't
even
want
to
stay
for
the
class.
I
said:
let
it
with
me
I'll,
take
it
home
I'll,
try
to
figure
out,
what's
what's
wrong
with
it.
So
after
the
class
I
took
the
chromebook
home
and
I
I
I
tried
to
figure
out
what
was
wrong
and
every
time
I
type
into
it
I
get
hieroglyphics.
I
couldn't
figure
out
what
it
was
doing.
E
I
couldn't
log
on
as
anybody
and
then
I
found
out
I
I
was
able
eventually
I
tried
to
log
on
as
me
as
a
user,
because
I
had
dave,
give
me
his
username
and
his
and
his
password
for
google,
so
I
could
get
on
this
gym,
but
then
I
tried
to
go
in
as
myself.
E
I
added
the
user
and
I
went
right
in
everything
worked
perfect
and
I
said
what
is
this
and
I
found
that
he
had
gone
in
and
played
around
with
it
song
and
somehow
he
had
switched
the
language
to
to
he.
He
he
had
his
location
as
israel
and
he
had
his
language
as
as
as
jewish
language
and
that
language
actually
types
right
to
left.
You
know
and
no
wonder
I
was
having
all
these
issues.
E
I
was
having
things
you
know,
I
type
on
the
screen
and
I'd
see
the
thing
go,
the
wrong
direction,
and
and
and
as
soon
as
I
I
I
called
him
on
the
phone.
I
said
you
know
what
you
didn't.
E
I
said,
oh,
I
was
fooling
with
that
and
I
said
well,
you
fooled
one
step
too
many
and
dave
he
sends
bo
a
couple
he's
bought
a
couple
of
chromebooks
he's
got
some
apartments
he's
a
retired
doctor
he's
got
some
apartments
around
in
the
area
that
he
rents
out
and
so
in
in
these
apartments
he's
putting
a
chromebook
in
them,
so
people
can
watch
movies
and
and
things
in
there
and
but
he
he
uses
the
chromebooks
for
them
all,
but
they're
all
old,
acer,
chromebooks,
they're,
they're,
they're,
the
heavy
ones
and
they're
ones.
E
E
I
know
he
was
down
here
in
brampton,
but
he
when
I
did
my
first
apc
ug
saturday
afternoon
thing
huey
was
my
host.
E
You
know
when
I,
when
I
he
was
supposed
to
be
the
one
that
calmed
me
down
and
told
me
how
to
do
things,
and-
and
you
know
I
got
to
be
friends
with
huey
after
this
and
he
said
well
one
thing
he
lived
in
clearwater
at
one
point
in
time
and
he
belonged
to
the
club
here
locally
even
before
I
joined
and
I've
been
around
the
club
for
like
35
years,
but
it
was
before
that
that
he
was
around
and
he
says
oh,
I
live
over
in
central
florida
and
then
the
next
time
I
saw
huey
he
had
moved
to
bradenton
and
he
told
me
about
how
he
still
did
the
windows
group
for
for
you
folks,
over
there-
and
I
have
here-
we
come
up
to
our
to
our
chromebook
sake.
E
Urban
is
not
a
sega
yeah.
I
guess
it
was.
It
was
a
chromebook
sig
that
we
had
once
a
month
at
the
club,
and
I
I
said
well
huey.
If
you
come
up
I'll,
buy
you
a
lunch.
E
Well,
huey
came
up
and
I
bought
him
lunch
and,
and
then
he
came
back
two
weeks
later
or
three
weeks
later.
I
think
he
won
the
second
lunch.
You
know
that
was
okay.
I
I
I
enjoyed.
I
enjoyed
his
compliment
and
now
I
follow
him
on
that
tech.
First
senior
he's
a
very
good.
He
always
a
very
good
teacher.
No
I
I
I've
learned
that
he's
he's
very
good
and
not
everybody
is,
but
he
is
yep.
A
Okay
bud
gallagher.
What
have
you
been
up
to
in
the
last
month.
C
Not
too
much
I
did
play
around
a
bit
with
the
pop
os
I
decided.
I
was
going
to
install
it
on
a
virtual
machine
with
vbox
and
quickly
discovered
that
it
was
impossible
to
install
on
vbox,
because
you
could
never
see
the
whole
screen
and
you'd
get
the
parts
of
the
installation
process
where
the
button
you
needed
to
click
wasn't
displaying
and
you
had
couldn't
scroll
the
screen
anywhere
to
get
to
the
click
here
to
continue
button.
C
So
eventually
I
gave
up
on
it
and
installed
it
on
vmware,
and
so
I
did.
I
guess
I
just
finished
it
just
the
day
before
I
haven't
been
back
to
play
with
it
yet,
but
I
did
eventually
get
the
pop
os
to
install
with
it.
C
C
C
C
Now
you
so
about
25
percent
of
time
I
actually
am
in
linux,
but
primarily
just
browsing
without
really
running
the
applications,
but
occasionally
I'll
fire
up,
leave
your
office
and
do
something
and
leave
your
office
in
it,
but
other
than
that.
It's
probably
the
only
other
application
linux
application
application
they
use,
except
for
browsers.
A
Yeah,
okay,
yeah
the
I've
still
got
pop
os
on
the
club's
computer,
which
we
may
jump
into
a
little
bit
later,
although
I'll
probably
jump
into
men's
on
my
other
one
so
that
we
can
do
this
screen
capture.
That
donna
would
like
us
to
look
at
so
we'll
we'll
get
to
that
donna.
Hang
in
there.
A
I
see
dick
mogul
with
us.
Have
you
have
you
dabbled
in
in
linux
at
all,
or
are
you
just
eavesdropping
tonight
on
mute
there?
You
go.
B
I
have
mint
installed
on
an
old
laptop
that
I
old
dell
laptop
that
I
have
and
I've
got
it.
So
I
can
it's
dual
boot,
so
I
can
either
boot
to
linux
or
to
windows,
and
I
have
not
fooled
this
for
the
longest
time,
but
I'm
anxious
to
to
have
you
continue
with
the
linux
group
now
for
tonight.
B
B
I
had
no
trouble
at
all
getting
the
the
ipad
to
get
into
the
meeting,
so
I
don't
know
what
her
problem
is,
but
I
I
didn't
share
it
anyway,
but
what
I've
been
spending
my
time
on
is
I
they're
three
computers
and
well
they're
more
than
that,
but
there
are
three
computers
that
are
the
primary
computers
in
this
house
and
I've
upgraded
them
all
to
windows
11..
B
So
I've
been
very
happy
with
the
with
the
experience.
I've
had
no
trouble
with
it.
So
I'm
I'm
learning
that
I
also
following
the
example
of
ray
brown.
I
got
my
fitbit
sense,
and
so
I'm
I'm
trying
that
out.
My
wife
had
gotten
one
and
fell
in
love
with
it.
So
I
I
decided
I
I
ought
to
keep
up
with
her
with
instead
of
my
six-year-old
fitbit
charge
original
chart
not
charged
two
or
three
just
fitbit
charge,
and
so
that's
that's
kind
of
where
I've
been
spending
my
time.
A
You
know
if
all
you
want
to
do
is
is
boot
up.
In
my
case
with
my
dell
notebook,
I
just
close
the
screen.
It
goes
to
sleep.
I
open
the
screen
and
back
up
just
like
a
chromebook,
and
I
just
use
it
to
browse
even
to
play
a
web-based
game
that
I've
been
playing
for
years
and
the
only
time
I
really
start
to
think
about.
Well,
what
are
some
of
the
things
that
I
can
do
with
it
that
are
different
is
when
I
start
thinking
about
this
group.
A
Notebook
had
been
dual
booted,
but
now
it's
just
a
single
running
linux
mint
and
the
the
club's
notebook
which
is
a
lenovo
has
been
through
the
dual
boot
like
you
described
dick,
and
I
decided
against
that
because
I
already
experienced
the
interface
manager
called
grub,
locking
up
on
me
and
having
to
be
repaired
and
then
locking
up
on
me
again
and
then.
Finally,
I
just
said:
okay,
I'm
done
with
that.
I'll
only
have
one
operating
system
on
the
computer
at
a
time
making
image
backups
each
time.
A
So
I
can
always
go
back
to
the
other
operating
system
if
I
wish
so
we're
on
right
now
on
the
club's
notebook
which
I'm
looking
at
off
to
my
left,
the
I'm
looking
at
pop
os
and
I'll-
probably
jump
into
that
here
in
a
little
bit
just
to
talk
about
one
of
the
limitations.
I
noticed
I'm
a
desktop
icon
guy
and
I
noticed
that
since
pop
os
is
based
on
ubuntu
with
a
known
desktop,
but
they
do
their
own
thing
with
it.
A
They
don't
easily
show
shortcut,
icons
and
there's
a
there
is
an
add-in
called
gnome
tweaks,
which
I
haven't
even
tried,
but
we
might
try
together
tonight
if
we
wish
to
to
do
that.
So
we'll
we'll
take
a
look
at
that
ken
and
or
donna.
It's
actually
your
turn.
If
you
would
like
to
say
a
few
words
before
this.
B
A
B
Ken's
laptop
the
screen
won't
turn
on
that
was
linux.
It
was
his
old
toshiba
and
I
think
it
bit
the
desk
because
the
screen
won't
turn
on
and
back
to
what
dick
was
asking.
I'm
talking
about
that
meetup
that
google
meetup
that
I
register
and
I
get
the
zoom
link,
and
so
I
copy
that
zoom
link
and
then,
when
the
time
of
the
meeting
comes,
I
click
on
it
and
I
just
sit
in
the
waiting
room.
B
E
B
A
All
right,
I'm
going
to
share
my
screen
again
and
talk
about
a
couple
of
the
things
that
that
I
was
going
to
talk
about.
First
of
all,
I'm
on
a
windows
computer
it
just
at
the
moment
my
main
computer
remains
windows.
I've
learned
to
use
multiple
desktops
and
so
that
it's
just
what
I'm
doing
so,
let's
see
if
I
can
find
the
linux
user
group,
okay,
one
of
the
things
that
was
called
to
my
attention.
I
think
it
was
donna
that
did
that
sent.
B
A
To
me
maybe-
or
I
picked
it
up-
I
don't
remember
if
you
sent
it
to
me
or
I
picked
it
up
from
me-
we
don't,
but
linux
mint
is
20.3,
is
coming
and
they're
talking
about
a
surprise,
new
app,
so
they're
saying
to
start
with,
they
are
going
to
have
the
mate
or
mat
xfce
and
cinnamon.
A
So
that's
pretty
pretty
much
standard
and
they're
saying
the
version
for
xfce
and
cinnamon
is
going
to
remain
the
same,
but
mate
is
going
to
have
a
new
release
and
they're
going
to
have
some
changes
to
that
flat
pack
is
a
repository
for
software
and
they
are
updating
that.
Sometimes
it's
easier
to
get
your
software
from
flat
pack
and
since
mint
18
flatback
has
been
supported
and
then
previously
it
wasn't
so
there
are
sometimes
software
distributions.
A
That
flatback
is
is
the
way
to
go
to
get
it,
even
though
it
uses
more
memory.
In
order
to
do
it,
they're
saying
that
the
native
mint
apps
will
have
dark
mode
support,
so
they'll,
look
like
this
screen.
They'll
be
dark
instead
of
white
they're
supposedly
also
displayed
better,
they
say
properly
in
row
and
low
resolutions.
A
Okay,
the
calendar
applet
has
been
approved
and
the
sticky
notes-
and
I'm
not
sure
what
I
antics
having
a
a
search
facility-
will
be.
A
Yeah
I
see
well,
this
looks
like
it's
spanish,
isn't
it?
Oh?
Is
it
spanish?
Oh
no!
No!
I
guess
marty
now
marty.
Maybe
I
don't
know
november
december
yeah,
daddy
dcmv,
except
that
looks
like
french
to
me.
Yeah.
I
guess
it
is
french
yeah.
I
guess
it's,
the
french
guy
who
wrote
the
article
a
new
app
called
thingy
and
they
don't
know
what
it
is
or
what
it
does
or
how
it
looks.
Well,
why
not
create
a
surprise
and
create
something
called
thingy?
A
It's
still
based
on
ubuntu
the
latest
version.
It
has
this
stable
linux
kernel,
which
I
would
hope
they
would
do
and
they're
saying
larger
title
bars
and
mints,
cinnamon
and
hey.
We
can
have
rounded
corners
too,
just
like
windows
11,
so
there's
a
rounded
corner
for
you
in
your
file
manager,
they're
getting
away
from
the
greenish
tint
to
a
gray
tint
a
date
of
a
native
dark
mode.
So
we'll
look
at
it,
it'll
be
when
it
finally
comes
out
and
it's
stable
and
all
the
rest
of
that
says
it
arrives
christmas.
A
A
A
I
do
have
a
an
icon
for
my
sd
card
and
that's
all
that's
on
the
screen,
and
then
they
have
a
an
application
menu
and
that's
fine
and
if
typically
in
mint,
if
you
wanted
to
have
it
on
the
desktop
you
right,
click
and
you'd
see
one
of
these
things.
You
could
make
it
a
favor,
it's
in
my
favorites,
which
means
it's
down
in
the
bottom
panel,
but
you'd
also
say
put
it
on
the
desktop.
That's
not
here,
so
I'm
going
to
go
back,
let's
see
if
I
escape
out
of
this
right.
Okay!
A
So,
according
to
this
article,
I
I
googled
it.
I
said
how
to
I,
google
or
I
didn't
google,
I
tucked
up
code.
Let's
start
calling
it
ddg
how
to
add
desktop
icons
in
pop
os.
A
So
if
you're
going
to
play
with
pop
os-
and
you
want
to
do
that
now-
I'm
we're
going
to
try
something
because
I
haven't
haven't
done
this
okay,
so
they're
saying
you
need
to
install
known
tweaks
once
you've
got
it,
you
go
to
extensions,
desktop
icons
and
click.
The
icons
you
want
displayed
on
your
desktop.
That
sounds
pretty
straightforward,
so
they're
saying
go
to
the
pop
store,
search
for
tweaks
and
or
sudo
apt,
install
gnome
tweaks.
So
I'm
going
to
make
it
easy
on
myself
and
just
go
to
the
terminal.
E
Mike
I've
used
google
error
on
tweaks
before
unknown
tweaks
and
it's
very
easy
to
use.
I've
never
had
any
trouble
good.
A
Well,
I've
never
used
it
before
and
I've
I've
used
gnome
on
ubuntu
and
gone
through
quite
a
circuitous
route
by
drilling
down
through
folders.
Until
I
found
the
folders
that
had
the
icons
and
then
dragged
those
icons
to
the
desktop
in
order
to
get
something
on
the
desktop,
so
this
looks
like
it's
a
good
way
to
do
it
we'll
give
we'll
give
it
a
shot
anyway.
A
A
A
A
A
A
A
Let's
see,
figure
desktop
icon,
do
right,
click
in
the
desktop
and
choose
the
last
item:
desktop
icon
settings;
okay,
right
click
in
the
desktop
desktop
icon
settings
there
we
go
okay,
all
right
now,
new
icons,
alignment.
A
A
A
C
A
A
Okay,
so
that's
not
it.
Let's
try
firefox.
A
B
A
B
B
A
A
So,
while
we're
waiting
for
that
and
for
me
to
rejoin
it
since
you've
joined
us,
sean
we've
all
gone
around
talked
about
what
we've
done
with
our
computers
this
last
month,
linux
wise.
So
why
don't
you
enlighten
us?
What
have
you
been
doing
with
yours.
C
Was
that
for
me
yeah,
I
have
the
only
linux
I've
been
involved
with
is
the
synology
so,
but
I
haven't
really
other
than
helping
you.
I
haven't
really
done
anything
with
the
with
regards
to
linux.
C
Okay,
so
what
we
did
was
you
had
set
up
a
zero
tier
account
on
their
website.
Zerotier.Com
created
a
free,
zero
tier
account,
and
as
a
result
of
that
it,
I
think
you,
if
I
remember
correctly,
it
automatically,
creates
the
first
network
or
you
have
to
click
a
button
create
network
which
you
did
and
then
you
downloaded
or
we
downloaded
the
client
for
your
linux
computer
once
we
did
that
and
we
installed
it.
We
took
the
zero
tier
special
id
and
asked
your
client
to
join
the
network.
C
We
did
that
on
not
only
on
your
linux
computer,
but
also
your
windows,
computer
and
from
there
you
go
after
you've
done
that
and
you're.
I
think
your
son
ben
wants
to
do
that
too.
C
So
you
want
somebody
to
join
your
network,
you
have
to
download
the
software
and
you
give
them
the
network
id
and
then
they
ask
to
join
and
then
they
just
wait,
and
in
your
case
you
just
waited
until
you
went
on
to
the
zero
tier
dashboard
and
went
into
your
network,
and
you
can
see
if
you
can
see
the
computers
or
clients
that
have
requested
to
join,
and
you
have
the
option
of
you
know
letting
them.
C
You
know,
check
the
checkbox
and
allow
them
to
connect,
and
once
that's
done,
you
have
a
private
address.
It's
not
a
publicly,
not
a
publicly
a
routable
address.
It's
a
private
address,
as
if
kind
of
the
demos.
The
the
example
I
gave
to
you
mike
is
it's
like
having
another
router,
but
it's
a
software-based
router.
C
So
it's
like
plugging
plugging
devices
into
a
router
and
then
those
devices
are
able
to
talk
to
one
another,
but
in
the
case
of
the
software
defined
they
don't
have
to
be
in
the
same
place
like,
for
instance,
your
son
is
in
somewhere
in
the
midwest
and
he
joins.
If
he
joins
your
network
and
you
allow
it,
he
can
then
see
your.
He
could
then
communicate
with
your
computers
internally
and
do
things
that
that
are
things
that
you
would
want
to
do
on
a
local
network,
for
instance,
file
sharing
or
speed
tests.
C
You
know
for
for
programs
that
are
running
on
the
on
one
of
your
servers,
so
we
did.
We
also
did
that
with
your
synology
and
the
synology
was
a
little
trickier
and
it
wasn't
super
hard.
It
was
just
we
had
to
install
a
docker
container
or
a
docker.
We
installed
docker,
and
then
we
installed
a
container.
C
C
So
we
just
copied
and
pasted
the
commands
into
the
terminal,
and
you
know,
within
between
five
and
ten
minutes,
we
had
it
up
and
running
pretty
neat
thing,
especially
if
you
have
family
across
the
country
or
across
town.
Even
or
you
know,
I
guess
even
next
door,
you
could.
C
He
has
a
local
backup,
but
he
also
his
computer
also
backs
up
with
with
something
called
time
machine
which
is
a
native
program
on
mac
os
that
allows
for
you
to
back
up
your
all
of
your
files,
either
to
a
hard
drive
or
to
a
network
drive,
and
it
typically
is
supposed
to
be.
A
network
drive
that
it
can
be
found
as
if
it
was
you
know,
it
doesn't
use
a
typical
ip
address.
It
uses
something
called
zero
configuration
networking
or.
B
C
And
as
a
result
of
zero
t
ring
on
there,
zero
tier
allows
for
that
broadcast
over
the
zero
tier
network.
So
it
looks
like
it's
on
the
the
computer
has
no
idea
that
the
it's
backing
up
to
a
computer
in
florida-
it
just
sees
it
as
a
computer
as
a
network
drive
that
it
is
allowed
to
back
up
to
I
plug
in
the
credentials
and
hit
save
save
the
credentials.
C
So
my
dad
doesn't
have
any
ideas
he's
just
not
technically
oriented
and
he
is
able
to
you
know
he
knows
that
his
stuff's
being
backed
up,
not
necessarily
how
that's
up
to
me,
but
it's
a
certainly
a
a
very
handy
thing,
and
for
free
you
can
have
up
to
50
computers
connected
to
your
private
zero
to
your
network.
For
for
free
after
50,
you
start
paying
50
bucks
a
month.
C
In
some
cases
people
use
it
for
gaming,
I
believe,
but
if
you're
doing
high
graphics
gaming,
I
don't
think
it's
good.
I
don't
know
I'm
not
a
gamer
but
yeah.
So
that's
that's
what
we
did.
That's.
That
was
the
extent
of
my
linux
experience
this
month.
A
The
whole
the
whole
purpose
of
me
doing
this
was,
as
you
said,
let
my
son
have
full
access
to
my
computer,
my
computer's
data,
if
I
wish,
but
when
I
got
the
synology
file
station
at
the
disk
station
and
put
the
file
sharing
capabilities
on
it.
A
I
can
share
throughout
my
home
because
it's
network
attached
storage
and
it's
using
the
same
network
that
everything
else
is
hooked
up
to
here
in
the
house,
and
you
could
just
open
up
your
ports
of
your
router
and
let
somebody
log
in
and
let
somebody
access
your
files,
but
that's
kind
of
dangerous
to
do,
because
then
a
hacker
could
try
to
bulk,
get
in
with
passwords
or
use
use
some
kind
of
device
to
to
try
to
get
into
your
system
and
break
in.
A
A
That
is
funneling
things
through
another
account
and
an
application
called
docker,
and
by
that
obfuscation
I
guess
is
the
term
I
would
use
is
it
makes
it
exceedingly
difficult
for
somebody
to
hack
into
your
system
and
likewise,
once
it's
set
up.
It
makes
it
extremely
easy
for
the
person,
at
the
other
end
to
just
click
on
his
file
manager
and
and
there's
this
network
attached
storage
device.
A
That
looks
like
it's
on
his
computer,
but
my
son's
in
omaha,
I'm
here
in
florida,
and
so
if
he
wants
to
get
to,
you
know
some
files,
whether
it's
the
will
or
the
trust
or
you
know
my
quickened
data
to
put
into
his
quicken
or
something
along
those
lines
or
even
family
pictures.
You
know
and
make
it
easy
for
him
to
get
in
and
share
pictures
go
ahead.
A
A
C
Yeah,
that
does,
if
you
go
to
the
zero
tier
website
and
you
click
on
download
it'll,
give
you
a
pop-up
that
says
you
need
to
create
a
network
first,
you
can
just
dismiss
that,
but
then,
under
down
on
the
download,
there's,
there's
a
series
of
icons
across
the
top.
One
of
them
is
nas
or
network
attached
storage.
If
you
click
on
that,
it
jumps
down,
it's
just
a
placeholder,
it
jumps
down
the
page
and
it
shows
you
all
of
the
devices
that
are
nas
devices
that
zero
tier
works
on.
So
I
know
it
works.
C
A
B
A
C
The
beauty
of
zero
tier
is
it's
for
an
instance
where
you
would
need
somebody
to
be
either
yourself
or
somebody
else
to
be
able
to
connect
to
devices
somewhere
else.
So,
for
instance,
if
you
say
you
have
a
computer
that
you
leave
on
at
home
and
you
travel
and
you
have
a
laptop,
you
can
have
the
zero
tier
software
installed
on
the
computer
at
home
and
on
the
computer
on
your
laptop.
C
That
would
all
work
without
ever
having
to
open
any
ports
on
your
on
your
standard
router,
because
you've
got
zero
tier
installs
as
a
piece
of
software.
That
acts
makes
it
act
like
it's.
It's
a
local
router,
but
it's
it's
in
essence.
It's
on
the
internet
and
it's
all
encrypted
as
well.
They
talk
about
that
on
the
website.
A
Is
anyone
else
in
the
group
tonight
run
running
network
attached
storage
at
home?
I
have
a
synology
of
mine
yeah,
that's
right!
I
remember,
but
you
said
you
had
one
anyone
else
using
you
know
either
via
ethernet,
cable
or
wi-fi.
A
A
You
can
either
get
one
with
an
ethernet
cable
or
it's
actually
got
a
wi-fi
chip
in
it.
So
to
get
something
this
small
and
it
can
have
an
ssd
in
it
probably
an
m2,
and
then
it
you
just
walk
around
the
house
and
the
thing's
connected
to
your
network.
So.
A
B
I've
been
using
a
western
digital,
my
cloud
master
network
attached
storage
for
several
years
and
within
the
last
few
months
I
got
a
note
from
western
digital
that
I'm
going
to
have
to
replace
it
because
of
its
vintage
and
the
hardware.
B
That's
on
it.
It
is
no
longer
up
to
the
security
that
they're
implementing.
So
in
january,
they
said,
they'll
be
offering
me
a
discount
on
getting
a
new
western
digital
mic
cloud
device
to
replace
this
one.
It
says
you
can
still
use
it,
but
you
need
you
really
need
to
keep
it
off
the
internet
to
have
the
full
security.
B
A
I
will
make
a
comment
about
that.
I
have
a
good
friend
used
to
be
a
co-worker
before
I
retired,
and
he
called
me
and
he
said
mike.
A
I've
got
a
western
digital,
my
cloud
and
I
can't
access
my
files
and
he
said
I've
contacted
tech
support
tech
support
says
I
need
to
open
it
up,
take
out
the
hard
drive
and
physically
attach
it
to
a
usb,
cable
and,
or
you
know,
a
usb
dock
or
plug
it
into
my
computer
in
the
in
the
the
sata
port,
and
he
didn't
want
to
go
through
all
of
that.
D
With
the
western
digital
mic
cloud,
the
only
time
you
have
to
worry
about
it
is,
if
you
are
trying
to
attach
to
it
remotely
outside
of
your
home.
That's
where
the
security
issue
comes
in,
if
you're,
using
it
only
in
your
home
as
a
local
device
to
your
computers.
C
C
You
decide
to
do
that.
You
better
make
sure
that
you've
gone
into
the
interface
and
disconnected
from
the
from
the
western
digital
account.
You
know
what
I
mean
see.
You
have
a
the
way
that
it
connects
is
with
through
western
digital,
and
you
need
to
un
take
that
account
information
out
of
there.
So
it's
no
longer
phoning
home
and
trying
to
have.
You
also
should
go
into
your
router
and
turn
off
upnp.
C
A
Or
buy
a
25
sata
case
and
take
it
take
the
hard
drive
out
put
it
in
the
sata
case.
A
Okay,
so
I
promised
I
would
show
how
to
do
a
screen
capture
in
linux
mint.
So
I'm
going
to
share
my
other
computer.
A
Oh,
I
went
through
that
process
and
nothing
changed
on
the
pop
os,
even
after
you
rebooted
right
right.
So
apparently
the
person
who
posted
that
art
that
note
on
reddit
only
knew
a
piece
of
it
by
saying
yeah,
you
can
manage
capabilities
of
your
icons,
but
you
can't
get
it
to
turn
an
icon
on
on
your
desktop.
You
still
got
to
go
through,
find
the
dot
application
file
in
the
in
the
proper
application.
A
Folder
drag
that
to
the
desktop
and
then
right,
click
on
it
and
make
it
executable,
which
is
what
I
have
done
with
gnome
and
ubuntu
way
back
when
so.
Okay.
So
let
me
go
into
this
guy.
B
Going
to
show
how
to
install
this
this
program.
A
Well,
first
of
all,
I'm
going
to
show
what
I
have
and
then
I'll
find
out
how
to
install
it,
because
I've
done
lots
and
lots
of
installs.
I
think
this
is
one
that
didn't
come
native,
because
I
liked
it
better,
and
so
I
went
to
this
particular
one.
Let
me
share
this
desktop
and
then,
let's
see
what
we
got
here,
okay,
so
we're
going
to
minimize
this
to
get
rid
of
the
black
screen,
get
it
up
out
of
the
way,
okay
and
make
sure
my
mouse
pointer
can
get
down
here
to
the
bottom
okay.
A
A
A
Let's
see
if
they've
got
a
little
okay,
so
let's
say
I
want
to
go
ahead
and
screen
capture
this
guy
right
here,
so
you'll
notice,
sitting
down
in
my
I
caught
still
call
it
the
taskbar
so
sitting
down
here
in
my
taskbar
is
clipping
and
it's
what
the
very
first
time
you
start
it
from
your
menu.
A
A
A
A
Well,
it
could
be
so
I'm
going
to
click
on
screenshot.
I
have
a
couple
of
choices.
If
I
want
this
whole
screen.
Well,
famous
last
words:
let's
try
again.
If
I
want
this
whole
screen,
I
can
grab
the
screen
and
sometimes
you
want
to
do
that
because
you
want
to
point
something
out,
and
perhaps
I
wanted
to
point
out
this
section
about
annotating
pdf.
A
So
then
I
would
say:
let's
get
the
whole
screen.
Let's
include
the
pointer,
so
you
can
see
the
pointers
sitting
down
there
and
I
don't
want
the
screenshot
dialog
to
show
up
at
the
same
time.
So
let's
have
about
five
seconds
and
then
say:
take
screenshot
all
right
now,
I'm
gonna
move
the
pointer
down
here
and
say:
okay.
This
is
what
I'm
interested
in
annotating
pdf,
okay,
five
seconds
and
let's
just
put
it
into
pictures
and
then
let's
go
to
pictures.
A
And
here
is
the
picture
we
just
caught
and
notice
that
the
pointers
sitting
down
here
and
I
got
the
whole
screen.
Okay,
let's
try
it
again
this
time.
All
I
want
are
the
computer
monitors
so
again,
I'm
going
to
go
to
screenshot,
I'm
going
to
select
the
area
that
I
want
to
grab
the
grab
after
delay.
Now
is
grayed
out
it
won't
it
won't.
It
won't
delay
anything,
I'm
going
to
say,
take
a
screenshot,
and
now
I
get
a
pointer
crosshairs
and
I'm
saying
all
right.
A
A
So
again
it's
not.
There
are
other
screenshot
apps
available
generally
across
all
the
distros
and
all
the
software
stores,
and
many
of
them
have
many
more
features
than
just
this
basic
one.
For
example,
once
I've
gotten
that
screenshot
suppose
I
want
to
put
text
over
the
top-
and
maybe
I
want
to
put
a
red
square
around
this
section,
so
you
would
want
a
screen
capture
program
that
has
editing
capabilities.
A
A
You'll
need
to
clarify
a
little
bit
more.
What
your
question
is.
A
A
This
is
something
huey
poplock
talks
about
and
has
given
presentations
on
and
if
you
go
to
huey.net
and
just
in
his
search
search
on
evernote
you're,
going
to
find
articles
and
you're
going
to
find
videos
and
he'll
describe
the
whole
evernote
system,
it's
a
means
of
capturing
multiple
pages,
storing
them
in
databases
being
able
to
index
them
being
able
to
recall
them
being
able
to
print
them
out
very,
very
comprehensive.
E
You
might
I
I
use
something
I
use
that
same.
Take
screenshot
program
that
you're
using,
but
to
answer
her
question,
I
I
hit
print
and,
and
I
print
to
a
pdf
and
when
I
print
to
a
pdf,
I
get
several
pages.
You
know
what
just
like
what
she's
talking
about.
E
Yeah
it
will,
it
will
print
the
whole
page,
all
the
way
to
the
bottom
now
and
in
the
pdf
that's
saved.
So
if
you
hit
print
and
then
and
then
don't
print
it
save
it
as
a
pdf,
because
it's
an
option,
that's
on
the
screen,
you
can
save
it
as
a
pdf,
okay,
it'll
work.
I
mean
it's
not
as
elegant
as
your
way,
but
but
it
will
work.
A
A
A
If
I,
if
I
take
a
picture
well,
let's
see,
I
guess
I
got
to
do
it
in
brave
with
more
than
one
page.
So,
let's
just
see
here
so
again,
we'll
go
to
where
I
was
so
you're
saying.
Essentially,
if
I
wanted
to
capture
everything
that's
here
and
be
able
to
scroll
down
through
the
whole
thing,
if
I
say
screenshot,
no.
A
A
A
A
B
D
A
Okay,
this
here's,
your
here's,
the
column
that
tim
was
talking
about.
Okay.
So
if
I'm
in
the
terminal-
and
I
type
sudo
apt,
auto
clean
or
pseudo
aft,
auto
remove
or
pseudo
app
clean
or
pseudo
app
package
lists,
then
it
would
in
fact,
bleachbit
is
now
going
to
execute
those
commands.
For
me
as
a
shell,
and
it's
it's
telling
you
what
each
one
each
one
will
do.
Okay,
so
auto
clean
gets
rid
of
obsolete
files,
auto
remove,
gets
rid
of
obsolete
files.
A
Clean
gets
rid
of
the
cache
and
package
lists
are,
are
cash
that
come
in
like
from
the
store,
so
I
don't
normally
go
through
a
deep
scan
and
go
through
a
lot
of
these
other
things.
Occasionally,
I
might
click
a
broken
desktop
file
just
to
make
sure
I
don't
have
any.
A
You
this
is
where,
if
you
are
a
bit
paranoid-
and
you
perhaps
followed
the
2016
election,
you
know
they
were
talking
about
clearing
bleach
bit
free
space
on
drives,
so
this
uses
dod
security
protocols
to
write
ones
and
zeros
to
the
disk
space.
That's
remaining
after
you've
deleted
files
so
that,
theoretically,
the
three
letter
agencies
cannot
access
your
disk,
whether
they
can
or
not
is
another
question.
A
A
Just
a
basic
operating
system
go
in,
put
bleach
bit
on
it
and
tell
it
the
free
disk,
free
up
clear,
all
the
free
disk
space
and
feel
fairly
secure,
giving
that
computer
to
somebody
else
that
all
the
data
you
used
to
have
on
this
computer
no
longer
resides
on
there
and
isn't
going
to
be
recoverable.
E
You
can
also
use
duke
nukem
too.
Yes,.
E
A
On
windows,
ccleaner
does
have
a
similar
routine,
so
you're
probably
used
to
using
ccleaner
and
in
the
settings
you'll
see
some
boxes
that
you
can
check
and
tell
it
to
thoroughly
clean
the
free
space
yeah.
D
That's
under
advanced
option,
tab
down
at
the
bottom
yep,
okay,.
A
Okay,
we
never
get
to
this
section
of
our
meeting
so
or
if
we
do,
we
only
get
to
the
first
page.
So
I
will
say
next
week
there
is
an
apc
ug
workshop
and
john
kennedy
and
orf
last
name.
Sorry
orb.
A
If
you're
watching
the
video
have
taken
input
from
a
number
of
us
that
there
are
some
unique
installation
methods
that
are
not
commonly
used
now,
we
did
try
a
few
of
those
in
this
sig
as
we
went
on,
probably
in
the
july
august
and
september
meetings,
but
they're
going
to
go
ahead
and
they're
going
to
have
a
session
a
whole
session
on
software,
installation
and
removal.
A
So
if
you
would
like
to
sit
in
on
that
next
wednesday,
they
are
re-registering
everybody
in
the
apc,
ug
linux
workshops.
I
asked
judy
because
she's
always
saying
don't
re-register
don't
re-register,
and
this
time
she
said
yes,
re-register
she's
clearing
out
her
database
and
this
is
going
to
be
for
the
foreseeable
future.
I
guess
at
least
six
months
of
linux
workshops
december
january
march
april
may
something
like
that,
so
once
you've
registered
for
this,
you
should
be
registered
for
all
of
the
linux
workshops
until
she
sends
out
another
one.
A
Okay
command
line,
and-
and
I've
talked
about
this
a
number
of
times,
I
did
find
a
very
good
video.
Let's
see
if
I
can
at
least
get
it
to
pop
up
from.
B
A
A
Okay,
ebuzz
central
you'll,
see
that
I
I
recommend
mewi
and
their
linux
group,
so
easebuzz
central
is
one
of
the
major
uses
users
of
of
the
mewi
linux
channel
and
he
has
his
own
youtube
channel
and
he
will
do
two
or
three
distros
a
month.
Sometimes
a
couple
of
distros
a
week
and
I've
found
his
distros
his
reviews,
they're
short
they're
to
the
point.
B
C
I
think
you
got
the
url
the
same
for
both
of
them.
Oh.
A
B
A
B
A
Correct
that
okay,
so
you
can
see
from
his
channel
that
he's
got
reviews
of
if
you
can
think
of
a
distribution
he
just
about,
as
as
you
has
covered
it,
here's
mangero
and
gerald
kde
something
called
heftor
I've
never
heard
of,
but
it's
an
archdistro
a
group.
He
did
do
a
pop
os
overview
as
a
beginner
friendly,
which
it
is
it's
kind
of
beginner
friendly
one.
I've
never
heard
of
before
maka-lulu.
D
I've
played
with
that
a
little.
A
D
It's
not
a
bad
distro,
it's
different,
that's
the
whole
thing.
I
look
at
a
lot
of
these
myriad
of
distros
as
a
lot
of
people.
Look
at
art,
whether
it's
painting,
marble
art,
whatever
the
case
may
be.
Art
is
art,
and
these
are
all
people
expressing
how
they
like
what
they
created
and,
if
you
like
it,
so
be
it.
A
A
A
But
if
you,
if
you
start
watching
these
series,
just
to
see
what
people
are
doing
in
linux,
it's
it's
an
interesting
series
and,
as
you
can
see,
I
mean
this
goes
on
and
on
and
on
so
we've
got
nothing
better
to
do
than
watch
youtube
videos
and
and
see.
What's
going
on
they're
here
on
his
channel
on
ebuzz,
central
and
I'll,
I
will
correct
that
link.
A
A
A
A
A
A
So
you
can
sign
up
for
this
and
you
can
listen
to
his
podcast.
If
you
have
a
podcast
manager
for
your
phone
or
your
ipad
or
if
you
just
want
to
read,
then
you
can,
you
can
see
what
he's
going
to
cover
and
this
particular
one
he's
talking
about
packet
filters
which
don't
really
appeal
to
me
at
the
moment.
But,
let's
see
pure
os
has
a
brand
new
version.
A
A
But
when
you
think
about
it,
they're
probably
going
to
get
an
open
source
they're
not
going
to
pay
anything
for
all
you
do
is
pay
their
consultants
to
install
it
and
then
they're
going
to
use
libreoffice
and
that's
also
going
to
be
free
for
them.
So
that's
quite
a
savings
at
the
governmental
release,
so
interesting
things
to
take
a
look
at
on
a
periodic
basis.
A
B
A
We've
looked
at
and
in
the
past
and
john
kennedy
talked
about
ventoy
and
I
have
sitting
over
here
in
my
collection
of
of
usb
keys,
a
64
gigabyte
key
and
I
have
vent
play
on
it,
and
I
have
just
put
the
web
ui
plug-in
configurator
on
this
key
and
then
I
also
have
a
link
for
it.
In
my
browser
I
can
plug
the
key
in
open
up
the
interface
and
it's
going
to
show
me.
A
Let's
see
if
they
actually
show
this
and
show
a
little
bit
about
it,
but
you
get
a
whole
bunch
of
functions
that
you
can
go
through.
You
can
sort.
You
can
organize,
you
can
add,
you
can
delete
and
you
don't
have
to
go
in
and
edit
any
configuration
files.
This
takes
care
of
everything
for
you
with
the
ventoy
configurator.
A
If
that's
something
that
interests
people
we
could,
we
could
take
a
look
at
it
in
the
future,
but
I
found
this
on
on
on
linux.
A
System
information
tool
hard,
oh
hard
info,
okay,
we
have
looked
at
hard
info,
at
least
once
in
the
past,
giving
us
information
on
our
system.
So
apparently
he's
got
a
nice
tutorial
in
here
on
how
to
actually
set
it
up
and
install
it.
A
A
Let's
see
what
else
we
got
sticky
notes,
okay,
so
oh
and
these
sticky
notes
sync
with
evernote.
How
about
that?
That
kind
of
is
an
interesting
link
in
so
if
you've
got
stinky,
no
sticky
notes
all
over
your
screen
and
they're
not
organized,
and
you
have
installed
evernote
then
there's
a
way
to
tie
them
together
and
get
them
into
the
evernote
database.
A
A
A
Okay,
so
melee
is,
is
a
essentially
a
free
and
open
clone
of
facebook,
with
privacy
no
ads,
and
then
you
can
buy
in
and
get
additional
features,
but
it's
essentially
free
for
the
vast
majority
of
people
that
come
in
this
is
their
linux
group
very
much
like
a
facebook
group
and
every
day
there
is
something
new.
So
here's
here
I
was
talking
about
heba
central,
so
you
can
see
here's
his
post
of
the
mangero
deepin,
which
one
of
the
first
things
we
saw.
We
went
to
youtube.
A
This
is
where
I
first
found
him:
here's
an
open
source
media
player
that
they're
reviewing
and
they
give
you
the
link
to
it
and
some
people
will
talk
about.
You
know,
can
actually
post
their
comments.
They're
saying
is
this
an
internet
radio
broadcast
program
and
somebody
else
is
saying:
spark
try
spark
gap.
B
A
Which
is
an
internet
radio,
blender.
A
3D
creation
software
blender
anybody
used
blender
in
the
past,
so
an
application,
I'm
not
into
3d
graphics,
but
if
you
are
an
artist
or
you're
a
computer
artist
or
a
gamer
or
whatever.
That
looks
like
something.
That's
interesting.
So
there's
all
kinds
of
interesting
things
that
post
here
literally
on
a
daily
basis
and
I'll
find-
and
you
can
see,
there's
his
his
there
is
he
buzz
central's
previous.
A
A
A
And
it
looks
like
zorin,
which
we've
taken
a
look
at
zorn,
core
and
they've,
come
out
with
a
light
edition
and
it's
fairly
recent
post.
A
A
A
A
B
A
E
A
Okay,
so
what
what?
No?
Let's?
Oh,
didn't
you
kick
me
out
all
right,
so
apparently,
I'm
gonna
have
to
log
in
the
concept
behind
a
discord.
Server,
though,
is
it's
essentially
a
computer
bulletin
board
and
on
the
left.
You've
got
a
menu
and
it's
got
all
kinds
of
subjects
and
then
each
subject
people
will
comment
on
and
they
can
post
pictures
and
they
can
post
articles
and
there's
a
file
section
and
you
can
upload
and
you
can
download
files
and
share
information.

A
We've
got
hang
on
a
second
okay,
so
what
we
did
is
we
set
this
up
very
much
like
the
central
florida
computer
society
bulletin
board
system
used
to
be-
and
these
are
people
that
have
have
you
know-
dropped
in
even
bob
g
dropped
in
surprised
me
places
for
comments
and
then
a
place
to
in
our
computer
society.
A
We've
got
a
section
on
chromebooks
section
on
windows,
section
on
android
and
we
did
not
have
a
linux
sig
at
this
time
when
we
were
first
looking
at
this,
and
the
biggest
problem
is,
is
getting
people
to
sign
on
and
use
this
on
a
regular
basis
at
one
time
I
thought
I
would
set
that
up
for
our
linux
sig,
but
it
was
easier
just
to
use
the
google
group
structure
that
we
use
for
our
other
cigs.
A
A
For
example,
here's
our
meeting
notes
from
a
year
and
a
half
ago
of
our
tech
sign
and
that
got
posted
okay.
B
A
E
A
The
next
month
we're
going
to
try
and
go
with
a
a
joint
meeting
with
bcug,
and
I've
asked
them
to
send
me
their
agenda
when
they
put
it
together
and
also
I'm
sure
I'll,
have
the
same
kind
of
link
that
you
saw
today
when
we
were
looking
at
it
for
everybody
to
click
and
join
and
then
be
able
to
get
into
their
meetings.
A
Something
for
you
to
consider
is
whether
or
not
you'd
like
to
be
the
third
group
in
this
in
this
group
and
whether
whether
they
would
like
to
change
their
meeting
dates
if
they're
hard
over
on
wednesday.
So
the
biggest
problem
we
have
is
is
with
ccs.
Linux
sig
is
its
opposite.
Our
tech
sick
here
on
on
the
fourth
tuesday,
so
our
fourth
tuesday
yeah
tuesday
yeah.
D
Yeah,
that
means
the
next
linux
meeting
for
the
chicago
group
is
january.
25Th,
it's
like
from
my
point
of
view,
a
hell
of
a
long
way
off.
A
Well,
I
keep
getting
into
commitments
and
I
drive
a
sport
car
I'll
admit
to
it.
It's
it's
a
corvette.
A
In
my
in
my
early
days
of
my
youth,
I
had
one
and
I
finally
could
afford
one
again
and
I
bought
one
and
they
want
me
to
be
their
webmaster,
so
I
will
be
setting
their
website
up
over
the
next
90
days,
just
something
casual
for
me
to
do
to
keep
me
busy
any
any
final
comments.
