1.Mike - discovered a new heat pump was needed at his home. Discovered Amana AVZC20 heat pump with 21 seer. Had this installed in October.
2.Mike - the thermostat for the above system is pretty impressive. Called a "ComfortNet Control System".
3.Mike - there are firms, both on the Internet and locally that will arrange for someone to come out and provide a professional estimate on the size of heat pump that is truly needed for your home. These cost in the neighborhood of $300-$400. Mike opted to use his Texas Instruments calculator instead.
4.Robert - purchased $30 12,000 lumen LED light to use during Zoom meetings. Temperature adjustable.

say
the

phrase
that
all

more
common
words

hear

social

system

heat

compressor
had
already
failed
once
and
then
it
had
a
service
call
because
of
a
failed
series
of
capacitors
and
relays,
and
it
had
failed
again
and
the
technician
that

out

time
told
me
that
he
didn't
like
the
the
pump,
the
compressor
pump.
That
was
out
in
the
outside
unit
on
the
carriers
and
he
suggested
I
consider
getting
a
replacement.

It
said
up
to
20,
seer
and
now
they're
advertising
up
to
21
seer
and
they
haven't
changed
their
tonnage.
So
apparently
they've
done
additional
testing
and
been
able
to
increase
their
seer
ratings.
I
did
get
a
four
ton
and
it
was
installed
in
october.
So
I
will
very
quickly
show
my
installation
there's
the
outside
unit
getting
installed.
The
carrier
had
been
sitting
on
just
on
a
poured,
cement
slab
underneath
this
and
today's
code
is
you've,
got
to
have
a
hurricane
rated
slab.

what
something
like
this
is
going
to
blow
away
in
a
hurricane.
I
wouldn't
think
because
of
its
weight,
but
at
any
rate
they
just
went
ahead
and
mounted.
You
know,
leveled
the
slab
that
was
down
there
and
then
put
the
new
slab
down
on
top
of
it,
and
then
there
are
bolts
that
match
up
with
the
mounting
base
that
they
screwed
it
down
to,
and
I
had
lines
coming
out
going.

a
large
pvc
pipe.
There's

six-inch
pvc
pipe
that
all
those
copper
pipes
go
through.
So
you
can
pull
them
out
and
push
them
in
and
because
I
just
had
mine
done
just
about

year

changed
the
copper
pipes
because
they
didn't
want
to
contaminate
the
new
compressor
and
the
new
evaporator.

our

to
the

wired

I'll
put
in
the
unit,

I
bought
two
new
bulbs
to
go
with
this.
The
bulbs
themselves
are
just
like
a
small
fluorescent
bulb,
but
it's
ultraviolet
and
they

base
attaches
with
a
socket
to
the
electronics.

were
standing
with
a
big
smile,
saying,
yeah
you're,
probably
gonna
break
your
bulbs,
but
I
actually
got
it
in
and
screwed
in
okay
and
it
comes
on
when
power
is
on
this
unit.
These
come
on
and
stay
on
so
that
you're
getting
the
ultraviolet
in
this
area,
theoretically
preventing
mold-
and
I
guess,
sanitizing
the
air-
that's
flowing
up
through
the
unit.

all
kinds

stuff
that
that
you
can't
get
to
without
a
code.
But
I
can
adjust
different
schedules
for
times
of
day
change.
The
thing
whatever

this
particular

system
replaced

unit

to

five-ton
unit,
which
I
thought
was
over
way
overkill

they
said
that's

efficient
unit
for

science
of
it
is,
you

a
lesser
tonnage,
can
be
a
higher
efficiency.

fact,
I
have
a,
I
think,
it's
a
two-ton
mitsubishi
in
my
office
here
in

unit,

I
got
that
about
five
years
ago
six
years
ago
and
it's
a
it's
a
22
seer,
so
it's
much
more
efficient,
theoretically,
all
right.
So
the
other
thing
I
was
going
to
show.

rebates
available
and
one

them
comes

duke
energy,

what
you

information
of
the
unit,

tonnage.

old
one

I
didn't
get
the
800,
I

know,
but
the
first
300
was
applied.

generic

fails

will
be

building

and
costco
requires
that
the
compute
vendors
that
sell
their
goods
