From YouTube: Meet U.S. Marine Corps Lashay Marks
Description
Meet U.S. Marine Corps Lashay Marks. Lashay talks about his experience in the Marine Corps; from boot camp to his time oversees.
A
My
main
job
was
artillery
0811
I
did
a
little
bit
of
recruiting
Duty
close
combat
instructor
and
career
planner
I've
been
mainly
at
Camp.
A
Pendleton
I've
been
all
over
to
Hong
Kong
Thailand
Saipan
Bali,
Hawaii
Kuwait
Dubai,
a
few
places
well
I
joined
the
military
like
most
of
my
family
in
Army,
Navy,
Air,
Force
and
I,
always
like
that
Brotherhood
and
that
sense
of
belonging,
so
I
decided
to
choosing
Marines
for
one
reason,
one
because
of
the
uniform
and
everybody
loves
a
man
in
the
uniform
in
the
best
uniform
is
the
Marine
Corps
uniform
and
my
next
door,
neighbor
and
good
friend
of
mine,
Maurice,
page
I,
like
grew
up
with
him
and
thought,
was
a
great
guy.
A
A
A
Maybe
that's
how
I
like
make
my
impact
in
the
world
by
joining
the
military
and
I
always
thought
it
was
an
honor
and
I
used
to
love.
Seeing
my
uncles
and
my
family
members
come
home
in
their
uniform,
like
my
uncle
Steve
was
an
Army
Rangers
like
just
the
respect
that
he
garnished
when
he
came
home
in
his
uniform
was
just
like.
Oh
so
that's!
A
This
is
what
it
means
and
then
I
didn't
get
that
feeling
until
I
like
joined
and
I'll
graduate
and
walk
across
the
stage
you
know
after
boot
camp
and
it's
like
you
come
home
or
wherever
you're
at
in
the
world
in
your
uniform.
It's
just
like
you
just
get
this
amazing
feeling
this
unprecedented
respect
that
people
have
for
men
and
women
in
uniform
and
I.
Think
it's
I'm
just
glad
to
pay
homage
to
all
the
men
and
women
in
my
family
that
served
and
just
honored
to
be
a
part
of
that.
A
A
That's
what
your
drilling
structures
are
pretty
much
they're,
just
a
father
figure
that
get
you
the
places
you
need
to
be
in
a
timely
manner
and
with
a
very
Stern
firm,
comforting
boy
at
times
for
me,
I
feel
like
the
best
stories
from
the
Marines
come
from
being
overseas
and
having
Liberty.
So
basically,
Liberty
is
when
you
get
to
your
destination,
and
you
got
like
three
or
four
days
to
go
out.
A
Hang
out
explore,
see
the
city
and
of
course
they
give
you
a
liberal
brief,
a
liberty
brief,
and
they
tell
you
all
the
places
you
can
go
and
all
the
places
you
can't
go
so
being
young,
18,
19
and
20.
Of
course,
you're
going
to
go
to
the
places
you
can't
go
so
in
Thailand
it
told
us
not
to
go
parasailing
and
what
do
we
go?
Do
we
go
to
the
beach
and
we
go
parasailing
and
one
of
the
guys
the
Marines
I
was
with.
A
We
were
parasailing
and
landed
on
the
beach
injured
himself,
and
we
made
this
big
story
of
how
he
got
injured
and
we
never
told
our
sergeant
major
that
it
was
parasailing.
So
I,
don't
know
you
got
to
stick
together
and
take
care
of
each
other,
so
nothing
a
little
bit
of
Thailand,
whiskey
and
yeah,
and
some
fun
of
taking
care
of
the
pain
being
able
to
go
and
have
a
place
like
Operation,
Shock,
Wave
I
give
him
a
shout
out.
They
help
veterans,
they
Empower
veterans,
to
deal
with
PTSD.
A
You
know
they
have
all
different
type
of
type
of
things
that
you
can
do
to
help
you
decompress
and
just
talk
about
what
you're
dealing
with
and
what
you're
going
through
that
a
regular
civilian
person
that
won't
be
able
to
get
where
you're
talking
about
no
matter
how
hard
you
explain
it
being
able
to
talk
to
a
fellow
marine
or
veteran
and
have
them
share
those
same
experiences.
A
It's
good
to
have
that
space
and
it's
comforting
and
it's
something
that
when
I
get
with
my
fellow
marines
that
I
was
in
with
we
have
like
little
reunions,
it's
good
to
get
with
those
guys
and
talk
about
like
The
Good,
the
Bad
and
just
all
the
funny
stories
that
you've
you've
had
throughout
the
years.
Veterans
Day
means
to
me,
remembering
oh
man,
I'm
getting
chills.
Sorry,
just
remembering
the
veterans
that
came
before
you,
the
ones
you
serve
with,
and
the
ones
that's
going
to
come
after.
A
You
like
America,
forgets,
like
all
the
stuff
and
all
the
Liberties
that
we
have
like
would
not
have
been
possible
without
the
veterans.
You
know
in
the
military,
Marines
Army
Navy
Air
Force,
going
over
there
fighting
battling
and
coming
back
and
just
being
forgotten.
That's
the
one
thing
like
it.
It
hurts
to
not
be
remembered.
You
know
you
got
all
these
professional
athletes
that
everybody
look
up
to
their
Heroes
and
all
this
stuff
is
just
like.
No
Army
range
is
a
hero,
a
marine
Recon,
their
Heroes
Navy,
Seals,
they're
Heroes.
