A
A
B
A
Thank
you.
So
briefly,
could
each
of
you
maybe
we'll
start
with
the
dean,
introduce
yourself
in
your
role
at
the
college.
B
Absolutely
I
am
the
dean
and
a
faculty
member
here
at
the
University
of
Arizona
James
E
Rogers
College
of
Law
I
joined
University
of
Arizona
in
2005,
actually
visited
in
2005
technically
joined
in
2006..
I
was
a
faculty
member
here
until
2012,
when
I
became
interim
Dean
in
2013
and
I
took
the
dean
ship.
So
for
the
last
decade,
I
have
been
working
with
my
colleagues
and
alumni
and
partners
and
nurturing
generations
of
students
as
Dean,
and
that's
a
great
honor.
C
I'll
follow
that
up.
My
name
is
Leah
Wan
I'm,
the
assistant
Dean
for
Phoenix
initiatives
on
top
of
the
James
E
Rogers
College
of
Law
I've,
been
working
in
an
administrative
capacity
for
the
college
of
law
for
over
a
decade,
I
graduated
from
the
Law
School
in
2005
and
practiced
education
law
in
the
California
Bay
Area,
before
returning
to
my
home
state
of
Arizona
so
really
excited
to
be
getting
the
word
out
about
U
of
A
and
building
on
our
very
strong
presence
here
in
the
valley.
C
I
am
based
in
Phoenix
and
I
work
across
our
degree
programs,
our
JD
program,
our
master
of
legal
studies
program
and
our
ba
in
law
program,
as
well
as
our
really
exciting
and
Innovative
legal
paraprofessional
program,
all
of
which
are
available
at
UA
Chandler.
And
we're
really
excited
to
be
talking
about
that.
A
B
So
the
degrees
that
Leah
described
really
paint
a
new
picture
of
the
role
of
Law
and
legal
education
and
supporting
businesses
and
government
and
non-profits
and
communities
the
bachelor's
and
Masters,
and
the
legal
paraprofessional
training
in
particular
create
a
host
of
law,
training
professionals
to
work
in
legal
and
regulated
environments.
So
Chandler
is
appealing
for
many
reasons.
Indeed,
we
could
just
spend
the
next
hour
describing
my
Chandler
as
a
great
home,
but
so
many
of
the
businesses
and
the
development
that's
happening.
There
are
informed
and
should
be
informed
by
understandings
of
regulations
of
contract
law.
B
Basically,
sometimes
that
requires
a
lawyer,
a
JD,
a
licensed
attorney
representing
the
city
or
a
business,
but
often
it's
someone
who
can
bring
that
knowledge
to
bear
in
helping
Identity
or
an
individual
and
navigate
space
and
there's
such
a
wide
array
of
employers
and
such
an
Innovative
energy
in
the
Chandler
area
that
it
was
incredibly
appealing
to
us
to
have
a
UA
and
a
college
of
law
presence.
There.
A
Yeah,
well
maybe
we
can
dive
a
little
bit
deeper
into
what
exactly
the
program
is
going
to
offer
in
Chandler
and
Leah,
maybe
you're
the
person
to
tackle
that
question
for
us
help
us
help
our
residents
and
the
rest
of
the
Southeast
Valley
really
understand
what
type
of
education
they
would
receive
here
at
U
of
A
Chandler.
C
Absolutely
so
I
mentioned
the
ba
in
law
and
it
is
the
first
undergraduate
law
program
available
in
tree.
It's
really
exciting.
There
are
core
legal
classes
that
are
offered
to
undergraduate
students,
so
you
don't
need
to
wait
until
graduate
level
study
to
study
law
any
longer
and
that's
really
a
paradigm
shift
from
even
when
I
graduated
from
law
school
not
so
long
ago.
C
C
That's
actually
one
of
the
strongest
areas
of
growth
for
our
students
and
for
our
programs,
and
so
we
are
able
to
offer
both
those
core
courses
and
elective
courses
at
your
Chandler
downtown.
We
also
offer
similar
programs
on
The
Graduate
level,
so
for
those
who
have
received
an
undergraduate
degree
and
are
looking
to
either
advance
in
their
career
Arc
with
their
current
employer
or
maybe
pivot,
to
a
new
employment.
Setting
the
master
of
legal
studies
is
a
degree
that
is
delivered
at
Chandler
and
both
of
those
degree
programs
are
delivered
for
the
working
professional.
C
So
the
idea
is
that
you
can
join
our
programs,
become
a
part
of
our
community
participate
in
all
of
our
engagement
efforts,
for
example,
professional
networking
opportunities
at
Chandler.
It's
a
great
space,
as
you
know,
Micah
it's
right
downtown,
it's
next
door
to
many
different
businesses
and
restaurants
and
places
where
folks
can
convene
the
building
itself
is
beautiful,
a
lot
of
opportunities
to
convene
there,
but
we
also
value
the
actual
academic
delivery,
because
the
building
is
state
of
the
art
in
terms
of
Wi-Fi
connection
and
Tech.
C
That
is
beyond
my
capabilities
with
describing,
but
it's
really
streamlined,
and
so
we
can
deliver
all
of
our
programs
and
connect
with
our
Tucson
colleagues
in
for
our
academic
delivery
as
well,
and
all
of
those
programs
are
available
with
a
working
professional
in
mind.
So
the
Imports
and
components
are
one
weekday
evening
per
week,
and
so
that
really
allows
us
to
meet
individuals
where
they
are
in
their
professional
growth.
A
That's
great
and
I
think
one
of
the
the
things
that's
probably
really
appealing
is
that
in
person,
obviously
James
E
College
of
Law
has
has
a
very
is
very
well
regarded
and
I.
Think
a
lot
of
that
has
to
do
with
the
wraparound
support
that
the
university
provides
so
being
able
to
to
network
and
have
that
connectivity
to
Tucson
in
the
broader
alumni
base
in
greater
Phoenix
can
be
very
important.
How
can
how
how
do
alumni
and
students
interact
outside
of
the
classroom.
B
It's
a
great
question:
it
starts
with
a
really
important
point,
which
is:
there
are
a
lot
of
alumni,
both
in
the
Chandler
and
the
Phoenix
area.
B
So
first,
it's
worth
remembering
how
big
the
U
of
A
is
and
how
old
so
they're
about
300
000,
actually
more
than
300
000
living
University
of
Arizona
alumni,
but
8
000
living
law,
school
alums,
of
which
around
3
000
are
in
the
Phoenix
area
and
it's
an
incredible
base
for
us
they're
people
who
are
committed
to
the
success
of
the
law,
school
University
and
very
interested
in
who
the
students
are
coming
in
and
that's
been
true.
Even
for
these
programs
that
didn't
exist.
B
When
so
many
of
our
JD
graduates
were
there,
they
see
the
need
for
others
trained
in
law
and
regulation.
They
will
Mentor
them,
they
will
help
them
in
the
career
pathway
and
so
there's
lots
of
ways
to
connect.
But,
like
I,
think,
your
question
gets
at
a
really
important
point,
which
is
for
many
academics
and
non-academics
we've
over
the
last
decade
and
certainly
through
covid,
sometimes
divided
the
world
into
online
or
in
person.
But
it's
much
more
nuanced.
B
It's
opportunities
to
get
together
in
person
when
that
enhances
educational
or
networking
opportunities,
but
it's
also
digital
access,
so
that
learning
can
fit
into
complex
family,
personal
and
work
schedules
and
the
beauty
of
the
UA
Chandler
space
is
it's
both
it's
readily
accessible
throughout
the
city.
We
can
bring
alums
and
students
together.
B
A
Know
that
that's
that's
a
fantastic
answer
and
a
really
fantastic
approach
to
getting
meeting
the
students
where
they
are,
and
this
question
might
be
a
little
premature
given
that
the
program
is
just
getting
up
and
running
here
in
Chandler.
But
you
know
if
you
were
looking
into
your
crystal
ball,
what
does
the
future
look
like
for
College
of
Law
in
Chandler
two
three,
four
five
years
into
the
future,
and
where
do
you?
Where
do
you
see
it
headed.
B
B
This
state
is
supported
by
only
two
law:
schools
they're,
both
great
they're,
both
public
they're,
both
highly
ranked
we
work
closely
with
ASU
and
many
different
dimensions
and
look
forward
to
that.
We
both
work
throughout
the
state,
but
between
us.
We
can
only
begin
to
respond
to
the
needs
of
individuals
and
businesses
and
the
communities
for
this
kind
of
training.
So
as
vibrant
and
large,
as
our
programs
are,
they
weren't
just
started.
We're
continuing
to
expand.
B
For
example,
LPS
it's
a
relatively
new
category
of
Legal
Professional
approved
by
the
original
Supreme
Court,
but
it
builds
on
our
earlier
work
with
the
ba
and
master
students
and
as
big
as
those
programs
are
I.
Think
we're
only
at
the
beginning
of
what
the
community
will
want
and
in
fact
needs
to
continue
to
thrive
and
prosper.
Think
of
all
the
high-tech
businesses
and
the
just
the
issues
there,
we've
talked
about
compliance
but
privacy
and
cyberlawn
cyber
security
and
then
there's
ulcers
for
the
companies
that
do
work
across
the
border.
B
All
the
interesting
overlay
of
laws
that
govern
cross-border
Finance,
business,
Partnerships
and
relations.
Think
of
the
day-to-day
challenges
both
for
individuals
and
businesses
and
in
in
in
finance
and
administration.
There's
just
these
are
the
issues
that
being
trained
in
lawn
regulation
address
and
you
don't
have
to
look
far
around
Chandler
to
understand
just
how
much
need
there
is
wow.
A
I
want
to
sign
up
that
was
very
motivating.
I'll
have
to
get
an
application
in
so
before
we
jump
off.
Is
there
anything
else
you
want
to
share
and
where
can
people
go
to
learn
more
about
the
programming.
B
Absolutely
let
me
let
Leah
talk
about
where
to
learn
more
about
the
program
again,
reflecting
the
important
reality
that
we
have
colleagues,
faculty
and
leaders
there
in
Phoenix,
of
which
Leah
is
representative
of
the
whole
college
and
teaching
and
just
critical
to
these
programs.
But
let
me
also
mention
that
you
know
people
may
not
be
ready
yet
to
commit
to
a
full
degree
program,
but
be
interested
in
exploring
some
of
his
classes
in
their
absolutely
ways
to
do
that
and
make
sure
the
quality
is
high.
B
I
can
promise
you,
but
the
best
way
to
fulfill
that
promise
is
take
one
of
our
classes
and
get
a
sense
of
our
faculty
and
the
materials
we
put
together
and
the
opportunity
so
I
just
like
to
highlight
the
ways
that
people
might
have
an
interest
in
something
more
specific,
not
necessarily
want
to
complete
a
full
degree
program.
And
yet
the
window
is
there
for
that
too.
Well,
yeah.
C
Absolutely
we
are
always
happy
to
meet
with
individuals
one-on-one,
but
that
of
course
takes
time.
So
if
you
would
like
to
stop
by
Chandler
at
any
point,
it
is
always
staffed.
Please
come
by
and
see
our
space
and
take
advantage
of
our
course
offerings.
There
are
so
many
different
professional
networking
sessions
that
we
hold
and
I'm
happy
to
share
those
with
you
like
to
get
in
touch
with
some
internet
research.
You
can
always
go
to
law.arizona.edu
and
all
of
our
degree
offerings
are
listed.
