Description
CHAOSS.Community.May.5.2020
A
I
post
them
to
YouTube
so
welcome.
This
is
the
chaos
monthly
meeting.
It's
May
5th
in
our
notes,
all
kind
of
work.
My
way
through
this
I
will
do
a
little
bit
of
screen
sharing
here
for
just
a
second.
So
a
couple
updates
with
respect
to
meetings.
So
tomorrow
is
our
first
asian
of
pacific
chaos.
Community
call
meeting
super
excited
about
that.
It's
at
8
a.m.
u.s.
central.
You
can
figure
out
your
time
accordingly
risk.
A
A
B
A
A
So
the
next
meeting
is
the
19th
okay,
and
just
so
just
so,
everybody
knows
all
of
our
meetings
like
the
Asia,
Pacific
task
call
or
the
risk
call
or
Kumar
lab
call
or
DNI
or
evolutions
whatever
it
might
be,
they're
all
on
the
same
channel,
so
the
same
link
as
what
what
you
will
use
for
all
of
those
meetings
with
reflective
zoom.
Just
you
know,
obviously
we're
all
on
zoom
here
right
now,
I
think
I
haven't
set
up
that
only
the
host
and
co-host
can
share
screens.
A
A
B
B
B
A
D
F
Remark,
please:
maybe
you
have
to
check
the
permissions
on
screen
sharing,
because
we
have
we
had
that
issue
in
a
previous
meeting,
so
I
had
to
grant
permission
for
people
to
share
the
espresso
so
that
we
could
hold
a
meeting.
Ben
I
think
you
should
just
go
back
and
reset
it.
Please!
Ok
I'll
check
that
after
the
meeting.
A
A
They
can
help
coordinate
with
you
as
well
on
that
Kevin.
Just
ok
cool
the
next
item
kind
of
moving
down
I'm
in
the
document
here,
I'm
on
the
second
page,
so
outreach
e
and
google
Summer
of
Code.
So
it's
official
they've
announced
a
ricci
and
google
Summer
of
Code
participants,
so
the
chaos
project
has
10
total.
So
we
have
one
outreach,
e
student
and
nine
google
Summer
of
Code
students.
A
Not
to
go
into
too
much
detail
here
because
we're
still
kind
of
in
close
discussion
with
the
selection
team,
but
we
are
we're
looking
to
finalize
a
finalist
list
for
the
community
manager
position.
So
for
those
of
you
that
don't
know
the
chaos
project
is
hiring
a
part-time
community
manager
for
the
next
three
years,
so
we
were
lucky
to
receive
funding
from
the
Alfred
Sloan
Foundation,
which
will
support
this
position.
So
there's
a
group
of
us
that
are
kind
of
filtering
through
we
have
almost
200
applicants
now,
not
all
of
them
were
high.
E
C
A
F
D
A
Was
trying
to
keep
the
meeting
relatively
short,
just
30
minutes
yeah,
if
you
can
make
it
that'd,
be
great
ray
there.
Bobby
I
should
I
think
I
accepted
so
okay.
That
would
be
great.
Thank
you,
okay.
So
then,
okay,
so
working
group
updates.
So
for
those
of
you
that
are
so.
Thank
you.
These
are
kind
of
just
a
few
details
that
I
want
to
take
care
of
first.
A
So
for
those
of
you
that
are
kind
of
joining
news,
so
we
have
several
working
groups
and
the
working
groups
are
focused
on
the
development
of
metrics
and
some
of
the
working
groups
are
on
the
development
of
software.
So
in
this
meeting
for
the
monthly
meeting
I'd
like
to
go
through
the
any
updates
that
the
working
groups
have
from
the
metrics
perspective,
so
the
first
document
here
is
the
tracking
spreadsheet.
So
this
is
a
spreadsheet
that,
obviously
everybody
has
access
to,
and
it's
just
a
way
to
take
a
look
at
what
metrics
have
been
released.
A
D
D
F
D
E
D
D
E
D
D
A
A
H
I
Brief
update,
not
much
has
changed
since
last
time.
I
could
make
last
week,
but
our
meeting
is
this
Thursday
and
there's
a
lot
under
review.
Thankfully,
there
are
five
PRS
and
right
now
for
different
metrics.
Around
value
I
haven't
had
a
chance,
you'd
give
them
a
lot
of
attention.
We've
been
doing
a
lot
of
work
to
get
the
chaos
cast
the
podcast
for
this
project
off
the
ground
and
that's
eaten
into
my
contribution
time
for
other
parts
of
the
project.
I
If
other
people
there's
no
set
dates
on
closure
of
like
either
merger
not
merged,
but
if
you're
interested
in
the
definition
of
value
as
it
relates
to
the
financing
of
open
source
projects
and
communities.
There's
some
interesting
metrics
to
review
right
now
and
some
conversations
and
the
open
issues
as
well.
So
please
jump
in.
A
A
What
each
of
those
three
different
metrics
is
so,
for
example,
documentation
usability,
documentation
discoverability,
because
these
aren't
really
examples.
These
are
what
it
is
and
documentation,
accessibility,
and
so
the
time
has
been
spent
in
the
working
group
to
work
through
the
the
language
associated
with
each
one
of
these
particular
metrics.
So
I'm
guessing
tomorrow
and
tomorrow's
DNI
working
group
meeting
efforts
will
be
spent
on
that
as
well
and
solid.
Do
you
want
to
speak
to
an
update
on
the
DNI
badging.
J
Yeah,
so
actually
this
is
our
first
week
back
so
so
we've
we
took
a
few
weeks
a
little
over
two
weeks
off
against
last
month
and
we're
just
starting
back,
and
you
know,
with
with
working
on
the
objectives
of
the
internships
for
the
next
three
months.
Okay,
so
we
don't
have
really
much
updates
at
birth
and
so
so
I
know
Toula
is
the
you
know
going
to
be
working
with
us,
I
guess
over
the
summer,
so
yeah
I
guess
we'll
have
more
updates.
J
A
So,
just
so
folks
know
the
outreach
e
student
will
be
working
on
the
DNA
badging
program
and
then
that's
Tola
and
then
asta,
who
was
also
accepted
to
google
Summer
of
Code,
will
also
be
working
on
the
DNA
badging
program.
So
folks,
on
the
call
one
of
the
things
that
we
try
to
do
is
as
we
develop
the
metrics.
We
want.
A
We
work
to
do
that
and
the
DNI
badging
program
is
a
way
to
think
about
metrics
in
diversity
and
inclusion
and
what
are
processes
that
we
can
do
so
that
these
metrics
have
meaning
in
the
world.
So
in
the
case
of
D&I
badging
you're,
looking
at
diversity
and
inclusion,
metrics
associated
with
events,
and
so
how
could
events
go
through
a
badging.
F
A
Effectively
demonstrating
that
they're
being
attentive
to
chaos
metrics
around
events
in
DNI,
so
that's
what
the
badging
program
is,
and
so
Salah
and
mats
now
have
been
working
on
kind
of
building
the
workflow
around
that
and
then
to
students.
This
summer
will
also
be
helping
with
the
technology
in
the
workflow
associated
the
batching
process,
but.
A
K
K
L
If
I
may
add
for
the
badging
program,
I
included
the
link
to
the
actual
github
organization,
which
we
just
got
badging,
which
was
pretty
cool
I,
also
just
want
to
add
that
I'm
very
excited
to
have
our
entrance
this
summer
and
that's
all
really
all
have
to
add
I,
just
I'm
just
happy
about
it.
That's
a
good
add.
A
B
You
know
I
think
I'm,
not
leading
that
group,
but
working
with
it
pretty
closely.
There's
been
a
lot
of
increased
activity
and
continued
development
of
metrics,
so
I
think
many
I
would
say
things
are
going
well
for
that
group.
It's
a
you,
know
big
classic
area
of
health
and
sustainability,
and
would
we
keep
following
the
roads
that
people
take
us
down
and
the
rhetorics
if
they're
a
metric
that
is
currently
under
review,
I
think
there
might
be,
but
I
don't
know
it
off
the
top
of
my
head.
B
B
F
M
G
E
E
A
B
If,
if
any
of
you
have
watched,
move,
the
new
Amazon
series
upload
you'll
understand
very
quickly
that
software
can
be
interfered
with
in
really
interesting
ways
and
there's
so
because
of
those
concerns
being
brought
into
the
risk
working
group
are
starting
to
extend
our
conversations
to
include
open
chain
CII
and
SP
DX
working
groups
as
well
to
address
the
metrics
in
that
list
that
I,
provided
there
I
won't
read
them
all
to
you,
because
I
don't
like
it.
When
professors
read
bullet
points
on
PowerPoint,
so
I
won't
do
that
to
you.
A
B
A
Cool
Thank
You
Sean,
so
for
those
of
you
that
are
kind
of
joining
for
the
first
time.
So
what
what?
What
that
was?
Those
are
all
the
working
groups
that
are
focused
on
the
development
of
metrics,
that
are
specific,
say
to
risk.
So
what
are
the
metrics
that
help
us
get
a
better
understanding
about
risk
.?
So
that's
what
the
risk
working
group
is
doing.
What
are
the
metrics
that
can
help
us
gain
a
better
understanding
with
respect
to
DNI?
What
are
the
metrics
that
can
help
us
gain
a
bit.
A
So
we
have
different
working
groups
that
kind
of
take
on
these
different
areas
of
interest,
with
respect
to
open
source
project,
health
as
a
whole,
and
so
the
working
groups
do
the
work
to
identify
metrics
in
in
each
one
of
those
those
particular
groups.
There
are
times
where
say:
risk
will
come
up
with
a
identify,
a
metric
that
is
important
to
gain
better
transparency,
around
health
risk
related
health
issues,
and
that
metric
may
actually
be
more
applicable,
say
in
common
or
an
evolution.
So
the
metrics
do
move.
A
B
Yeah
at
some
point
we'll
have
so
many
metrics
that
the
working
groups
will
not
be
the
organizing
structure
for
the
metrics
themselves,
perhaps
just
some
distant
future.
Dozen
news
to
me
they're
all
in
the
curation
in
terms
of
curation,
like
it's
point,
there
are
more
metrics
than
looking
I
think
some
of
them
will
mature
to
the
point
of
curation
and
the
classification
schemes
may
become
more
of
a
matrix
than
a
hard
classification.
I
say
that
sounds.
B
A
Then
also
within
the
cache
project,
so
those
are
the
workers
that
are
focusing
on
the
development
of
metrics.
Also
within
the
caste
working
group,
we
have
software
that
is
helpful
in
the
deployment
of
those
metrics
right
and-
and
so
that's,
where
we're
at
right
now
so
I'm
down
it.
I
should
put
page
numbers
on
here,
but
we're
at
the
bottom
of
page
three
arounds
software
updates,
so
the
first
one
that
that
maybe
I'll
turn
it
over
to
Daniel
Daniel.
Do
you
want
to
give
us
an
update
on
the
organizational.
M
A
M
So
couple
of
weeks
ago,
we
were
discussing
about
having
a
centralized
place
where
we
can
have
all
of
their
domains
and
organizations,
information
that
over
remark
on
perhaps
other
third
parties
are
using
here
and
there.
So
we
thought
about
creating
this
specific
property
tree.
If
you,
if
you
go
there,
what
you
will
see
is
three
files
break
me
file.
That
explains
what
this
is
a
big
JSON
file
that
contains
some
of
these
relations
initiations
and
domains,
and
then
the
license
file
so
would
be
good.
M
If
so,
if
you
have
at
any
point
any
internal
need
of
understanding
what
domains
belong
to
certain
organizations
and
so
on,
this
should
be
the
first
place.
You
need
to
have
an
cat,
so
we
would
like
to
first
start
in
preparatory
and
see
if
this
is
useful,
because
this
is
useful
for
a
goal,
and
this
is
useful
for
further
Marla,
at
least.
M
B
N
I
B
H
M
I
go
there,
so
I
wish
I
wish.
I
need
some
updates,
because
we
had
more
luck.
Meeting
like
that,
yeah
we're
before
one
first
twenty,
but
I'm
at
your
hands
before
so
just
to
be
sure,
we
are
moving
this
to
bi-weekly
meetings,
so
we
are
meeting
again
for
the
mark-up
in
kind
of
weeks,
yes
because
of
the
situation
and
lack
of
time
and
so
on.
It's
like
okay,
let's
work
in
this,
this
other
way
and
everyone
there
at
the
meeting
agreed.
M
So
if
you
have
any
concerns
and
so
on,
let
us
know
so
every
model
up
there
in
that
specific
link.
You
have
the
news
main
main
things.
For
summary,
there
are
some
data
model
improvements,
so
you
know
that
pre
Marla,
you
can
run
chromatograph
final
product
that
you
have
are
the
dashboards,
but
in
the
meantime,
what
you
have
her
data
models
and
indexes
that
you
can
consume
as
well
directly
through
elasticsearch
API.
So
for
them
we
have
improved
a
bit
the
data
model
for
talker,
half
a
sport
and
matter
most
I.
M
Think
these
improvements
are
you
gotta,
come
in
from
Google
Shopper
Summer
of
Code
malaria,
who
is
not
here,
can
confirm
this.
Then
we
have
a
new
feature
to
remise
information
coming
from
different
data
sources.
So
when
we
are
talking
about
anonymize,
we
we
mentioned
names
or
names
and
all
of
this,
so
it
was
thankfully
the
most
information
from
contributors
just
in
case
and
then
documentation
improvement
since
working
hands
and
mortar,
getting
started
and
so
on,
and
then
the
vision
of
keep
there
as
new
data
source,
including
indexes
they
can
also
some
final
transports.
B
Auger
lots
and
lots
of
updates
on
order.
We
had
a
major
new
release,
which
we
highlighted
in
one
of
our
weekly
auger
meetings
recently,
and
so
we
tweeted
that
out
and
there's
a
Twitter
link
to
the
video
and
also
we
you
know-
and
that
includes
major
updates.
The
documentation
as
well
so
I've
got
updates
to
documentation
getting
started
substantially,
improve
lots
of
the
pieces
of
augur
for
data
collection
and
shortly
it
will
be.
B
We've
been
working
with
a
number
of
folks
on
building
people,
our
notebooks,
that
access
the
augur
schema,
which
has
a
lot
more
data
in
it
than
is
revealed
on
the
augur
front
end
at
this
time,
so
I
think
releasing
a
standardized
version
of
those
notebooks
is
on
our
agenda
in
the
next
month
and
I.
Think
we
are
with
the
know.
A
A
Part
of
the
Chaos
project
and
hoping
the
deployment
of
the
metrics,
amongst
other
things,
John,
alright,
so
I
had
kind
of
a
list
of
outreach
related
things.
Remember
I'm,
trying
to
keep
this
meeting
to
end
at
about
quarter
to
just
so.
We
all
have
time
to
catch
our
breath
before
our
next
meeting,
and
so
just
with
respect
to
kiosk
on
North
America
I've
been
meeting
with
some
folks
at
the
Linux
Foundation
to
get
help
with
going
to
a
virtual
event.
A
A
B
A
B
A
H
A
D
We
sort
of
paused
submissions.
Well,
we
well.
We
took
some
time
to
think
about
what
we
want
to
do
with
the
event,
because
I
think
that
part
of
what
we
need
to
think
about
is,
you
know,
do
all
right.
You
know
seven
hours
of
content
where
we're
just
I,
don't
want
seven
hours
of
content
where
I'm
just
sitting
on
zoom
watching
it.
It's
not
it's
not
the
same
as
going
to
a
face-to-face
event,
so
we
stopped.
We
left
the
CFP.
It's
still
technically
open,
I!
Think
because
I
haven't
closed.
F
D
D
B
The
format's
different
right,
like
I,
would
love
this
submitted
a
bunch
of
little
three
minute
videos
and
then
have
people
like
watch
about
three
or
four
three
minute
videos
over
a
period
of
days
and
then
maybe
have
an
online
zoom
chat
for
a
half
an
hour
or
something
or
or
something
like
that.
Where
we're
not.
Nobody
wants
to
sit
and
listen
to
anybody.
Talk
for
20
minutes
on
Zoom.
I
I
I
Crossing,
thank
you,
but
you
know.
Well
maybe
that's
super
funky
and
I
enjoyed
it.
What
I
really
appreciated
they
streamed
it
to
twitch
and
I
was
following
conversations
that
they
did
a
really
wonderful
job
of
curating
back
channels,
so
that
people
said
it
felt
very
conversational,
like
you're,
actually
wanted
to
be
there
and
hang
out
with
people.
So
any
lessons
we
can
glean
from
them.
I
think
like
Matt
Stratton
is
a
friend
of
mine
and
he
was
Co.
Organizing
I
could
always
pick
his
brain,
but
we've.
A
D
A
N
A
C
I
mean
whether
it's
with
the
alleppey
or
not
like
I,
think
those
of
us
that
are
sort
of
on
the
CFP
committee
for
chaos
con
we
could
I
mean
after
people
are
back
from
vacation
like
maybe
we
can
have
a
quick
call
next
week
and
I
mean
I
agree
with
Don.
We
can't
have
like
even
improve
it.
They
have
a
virtual
session
I.
C
They
want
on
YouTube,
but
it's
it's
more
of
a
hallway
conversation
that
that
we
want
to.
We
want
to
I,
guess,
keep
I,
guess
it.
You
know
in
a
virtual
format,
but
yeah
I
mean
maybe
we
I
mean
I,
think
we
need
to
make
a
decision
on
what
we're
going
to
do
like
we
cancel
it
outright
or
do
something
different
yeah.
C
D
Mean
it
I
almost
hate
to
suggest
that
cuz
I
love
it
so
much,
but
but
this
is
actually
what
we
suggested
for
the
contributor
summit
for
Amsterdam
for
cube
con
the
kubernetes
contributor
summer.
It's
not
going
to
happen
in
Europe
I,
don't
think.
We've
announced
that
yet,
but
but
the
whole
event
went
virtual
and
then
to
do
like
an
extra
day
of
virtual
stuff
when
the
vast
majority
of
the
benefit
people
get
out
of
the
contribs
summit
is
hallway
track.
It
just.
F
D
Seem
worth
it
to
us,
especially
given
that
it
was
only
a
couple
of
months
before
Boston
the
Boston
keep
con.
So
I
don't
know.
Maybe
we
don't
do
one,
maybe
we
maybe
target
at
FOSDEM
next
year
and
do
another
just
do
another
European
one
I
I,
don't
know
I
grew
through
them.
Maybe
maybe
we
should
get
the
committee
together
and
have
a
conversation
after
you've.
Had
your
next
talk
with
with
the
Linux
Foundation
I'll.
A
A
A
So
it's
a
very
simple
page
at
this
point,
so
I'm
github,
so
basically
the
long
and
short
of
it
is,
is
that
the
metrics
page
was
creating
a
lot
of
confusion
for
people
coming
to
the
KS
project
via
github,
just
because
it
had
a
long
list
of
metrics
and
we
have
released
metrics
on
the
website
and
it
was
really
creating
just
kind
of
you
know
back
and
forth.
So
anyway,.
A
Up
with
just
pointers
to
the
proper
location,
so
click
on
the
link.
It's
a
lot
easier.
There's
a
tiny
bit!
Oh
there's
a
tiny
bit
of
cleanup
to
do,
but
nothing
that
is,
that
big
of
a
deal
so
I'm
super
happy
about
that.
Don.
Just
posted
a
video
about
her
big
ass
work
at
VMware
I
put
a
link
in
there.
It's
like
eight
minutes
or
seven
minutes.
It's
not
long
and
it's
actually.
I
So,
for
those
who
haven't
heard
this
already,
the
Kaos
cast
is
a
Kaos
themed
podcast.
It
has
a
couple
lead,
hosts
and
a
wide
panel.
We
welcome
all
of
you
here
to
be
on
the
panel
if
you're
interested,
but
the
the
quick
update,
we've
recorded
four
episodes
working
through
the
getting
it
posted.
The
first
one
went
live
last
week.
Next
one's
gonna
go
live
this
week
and
then
George
and
I
are
meeting
Friday
along
with
another
panelist
Benia,
who
has
been
fantastic,
and
the
three
of
us
are
gonna.
I
Try
to
see
what
it
looks
like
to
shift
you
a
once
a
week
recording
schedule
and
have
different
sort
of
themes
that
different
people
lead.
I'll,
say
we're
always
looking.
We
are
to
you,
know,
white
male
people
that
have
kind
of
spearheaded.
We
don't
want
that.
We
want
to
be
as
representative
and
diverse
as
our
community.
So
more
people
are
really
encouraged.
N
B
I
Good,
so,
if
you're
looking
to
check
it
out
now,
it's
it's
podcast,
dot,
chaos,
tech,
community
and
I
will
link
to
our
document.
That
gives
the
overall
strategy,
but
you
can
email
us
at
podcast
at
chaos,
tech
community,
if
you're
at
all
interested
or
my
handles
in
my
name
just
say,
hi
on
any
platform
and.
D
A
I'm
gonna
see
if
the
community
handbook
I
have
one
question
running
out
of
time
on
the
web
page.
If
you
click
on
that,
one
of
the
things
that
we
have
is
just
a
cast
out
community
I
think
the
read
page
is
great,
but
if
you
scroll
down
just
a
little
bit,
we
have
those
recent
chaos
posts.
Those
were
getting
a
little
stale
me
rule.
E
A
A
F
D
This
please
everybody
have
a
community
manager
who
can
kind
of
keep
us
organized,
but
but
keep
in
mind
like
the
blog
posts.
We
could
start
doing
some
some
super
short
blog
posts.
I
could
do
something
really
quick
around
that
to
promote
that
video
and
just
like
embed
the
video,
and
we
could
do
a
blog
posts
for
each
one
of
the
podcasts
and
about
the
podcast
and
make
those
really
sort
of
light
like
I
could
probably
do
a
blog
post
about
that.
A
E
So
the
workflow
is
an
issue
with
the
with
the
weekly
newsletters,
okay,
the
the
format
that
those
are
created
in
kind
of
creates
some
some
ongoing
problems
too
to
get
them
put
on
to
the
website.
Okay.
So
if
we
changed
our
workflow
on
how
they're
created
it,
it
would
make
it
easier
website.
Yet,
okay,
why
don't
you
and
I
chat
outside.
A
Of
this
about
that
cool,
thank
you
and
Thank
You
Don
for
me
to
do
that,
and
cat
scan
is
updated.
We
have
in
the
seconds
left
on
this
meeting.
There
was
a
question
about
how
things
are
going
with
the
move
to
get
lab.
I.
Think
I'm
gonna
kick
that
to
next
week.
Just
so
we
can
kind
of
talk
through
that
a
little
bit
more.
Unless
anybody
wants
to
talk
about
it
for
10
seconds,
we.
G
C
B
Think
there's
any
question:
I
think
we
went
with
kind
of
a
decision
to
kind
of
a
fuzzy,
concise
op
consensus
like
if
there
was
no
objection
and
I
think
we
reached
that
in
one
of
our
community
meetings,
possibly
the
one
in
April,
which
would
have
been
right
after
the
board
meeting
that
were
so
I
think
we
did
sort
of
reach
a
consensus
on
this
call.
Last
last
monthly
call
I
think
in
terms
of
the
move.
B
D
F
B
F
B
The
years
matt9
others
have
repeatedly
approached
github
for
that
same
kind
of
partnership
and
whereas,
like
10
years
ago,
github
source
code
was
open
sourced,
it
isn't
and
get
labs
remains
open
sourced.
So
we
have
an
opportunity,
as
a
metrics
community,
to
make
upstream
contributions
with
get
lab
that,
just
frankly,
don't
exist
with
github,
and
there
were
other
reasons
driving
it.
But
I
think
that
was
the
thing
that
put
us
over
the
top
in
terms
of
this
really
makes
sense.
Okay,
anybody
tell
me
if
I'm
not
sizing
that
fairly,
what.
D
A
B
D
A
D
B
D
A
Wonderful
sunny
day
in
the
entire
planet,
so
alright,
no
that's
I
find
these.
These
are
totally
fair
conversations
and
I
don't
mind
them
at
all.
I
think
they're
super
helpful,
so
cool
thanks.
Everybody
and
I
guess
we'll
see
you
in
some
working
groups,
maybe
see
some
of
you
tomorrow
and
we'll
see
y'all
around
okay.
