Charleston County School District recognizes more than 50 student-athletes from six schools in nine sports that signed a National Letter of Intent to play a sport at the college level. Since the district did not have an in-person ceremony this year, the Communications Office put together this video to celebrate the student-athletes from the Class of 2022.

Burlington Stores, the national discount retailer, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new store in the St. Andrew’s Shopping Center in West Ashley. As part of the celebration, Stono Park Elementary School received a $5,000 donation from Burlington as part of their partnership with the national non-profit organization AdoptAClassroom.org, which will go to the school’s teachers for classroom supplies.

In an effort to help protect the health and safety of our students and staff, the CCSD Board of Trustees has mandated and will now enforce the wearing of facemasks in all schools* and facilities by students, employees, and visitors, according to CCSD Policy ADD (Face Coverings). Enforcement of CCSD Policy ADD will begin on Monday, September 20, and will run through October 15 by Board action. Policy ADD may be extended beyond October 15, based on the county’s COVID activity as determined by SC DHEC.
