Today
we
pray
for
all
of
those
who
have
met
the
challenge
and
kept
the
faith
to
the
commitment
of
their
studies.
Now
they
have
a
new
kairos
before
them.
We
first
offer
thanks
and
praises
for
the
success
of
their
journey.
We
thank
you
for
granting
them
focus
and
direction
and
then
strengthen
endurance.
For
this
journey,
you
created
the
knowledge
and
understanding
they
have
mastered
and
retained.
B
You
have
created
the
curiosity
and
the
capacity
for
determination
and
commitment
that
led
them
in
pursuit
all
these
good
things
came
from
you,
we
thank
you
today.
We
also
pray
for
tomorrow.
This
graduation
opens
another
door
to
another
time,
as
you
have
led
in
the
past
at
this
moment,
please
lead
them
now
into
the
future,
give
them
focus
and
clarity
and
a
calling
from
you
to
understand
their
purpose,
passion,
determination
and
the
courage
to
respond
and
step
toward
that
purpose.
B

C
C
They've
taught
me
to
never
give
up
push
away
that
internal
and
external
message
that
says
you
can't
others
might
give
up.
That
doesn't
mean
that
you
should
determination,
perseverance
and
yes,
good,
old-fashioned,
hard
work
really
do
pay
off
in
the
end,
they've
taught
me
to
be
brave,
be
brave
in
the
face
of
a
devastating
loss,
be
brave
in
the
face
of
change,
be
brave
in
the
face
of
a
scary
illness
be
brave
when
presented
with
the
unforeseen
and
in
navigating
the
unexpected
twists
and
turns
of
life.

It
is
rare
that
one
school
enjoys
such
a
broad
base
of
community
support.
We
are
honored
to
have
miss
carla
gradson
and
miss
layla
fiona
from
from
constituent
board

We
representing

at
our
ceremony,
along
with
mr

who
showed
dedicated
partnership
to
echs
in
his
time
working
in
city
of
charleston
mayor's
office.
D
E
Faculty
staff
and
families.
Thank
you
for
joining
us
today
to
celebrate
the
first
graduating
class
of
early
college
high
school.
I
often
look
at
my
younger
brother
and
see
myself
and
him
like
many
others.
He
had
his
own
struggles
and
problems
when
it
came
to
starting
high
school.
The
transition
from
middle
school
to
high
school
is
no
easy
one,
which
is
something
I'm
sure
we
can
all
relate
to,
and
it's
something
I
definitely
wish
I
had
properly
prepared
for.
E
E
All
my
life.
I've
been
going
to
go
new
places
and
make
new
friends
in
all
that
jazz
throughout
my
years
at
ehs,
I've
definitely
built
strong
lifelong
bonds
and
can
certainly
say
I've
made
more
family
than
friends
at
echs.
Echs
has
certainly
given
me
the
opportunity
to
go
new
places
back
when
I
was
in
middle
school.
I
learned
this
nina
simone
quote.
That
has
stuck
with
me
throughout
all
my
problems.
The
quote
states
you've
got
to
learn
to
leave
the
table
when
love
is
no
longer
being
served.
E
F
F
To
be
recognized
as
a
charleston
county
school
district
board
scholar,
a
student
must
achieve
a
minimum
gpa
of
4.25
on
the
south
carolina
uniform
grading
scale
based
upon
gpa
calculated
at
the
end
of
the
third
nine
weeks.
In
addition
to
all
dual
enrollment
coursework
completed
in
the
spring,
recipients
of
this
award
will
receive
or
have
received,
certificates
and
medals
for
this
accomplishment
through
their
home
school.
But
we
certainly
wanted
to
highlight
this
accomplishment
at
our
celebration
as
well.
F
F
Y'all
may
be
seated
early
college
high
school
is
unique
in
so
many
ways.
One
of
the
factors
that
contributes
to
this
is
our
diverse
population,
which
is
represented
by
students
from
all
across
the
county,
who
are
each
still
members
of
their
home
high
school.
The
achievements
of
echs
students
are
echoed
across
the
district.

Shortly
after
graduating
college,
joan
became
a
commissioned
officer
in
women
accepted
for
voluntary
emergency
services,
better
known
as
waves
in
the
u.s
navy
reserve
joan,
started
her
education
career
here
in
charleston,
as
mrs
weiskopf
she
had
met
and
married.
My
father-in-law
was
stationed
here
and
retired
after
teaching
over
30
years,
while
living
in
hawaii
she
passed
away
in
january,
2018.,
instant,
joan
weiskopf
is
buried
in
punchbowl
national
cemetery
in
honolulu
hawaii.
H
H
H
You
see,
after
she
retired
joan
volunteered
at
a
local
prison
through
the
hawaii
literacy
program
and
helped
inmates
with
their
writing
skills,
so
they
could
attain
a
ged
it
is.
It
is
with
great
pleasure
that
my
family
and
I
award
the
first
joan
weiskopf
memorial
scholarship
to
alexis
pinckney
with
our
most
heartfelt
congratulations.

You,
students
have
recognized
him
for
his
incredible
leadership:
his
fierce
competition,
his
approachable
demeanor,
his
constant
presence
and,
on
behalf
of
you,
it
gives
me
a
great
gives
you
a
great
pleasure
to
present
this
award
to.
I
C
C
C
C
K
K
K
We
made
it
though,
actually
no,
we
earned
it
waking
up
early
every
morning,
reporting
to
the
same
classes,
finishing
piles
of
assignments,
mostly
on
time
and
spending
countless
assignments
or
hours
studying,
and
not
studying,
working,
hard
and
goofing
off
turning
things
in
early
and
cramming
20
assignments.
All
in
one
night,
you
may
be
wondering
what
I'm
rambling
on
about,
but
everything
I
mentioned
has
one
thing
in
common
that
we
all
struggle
with
time.
K
K
I've
spent
the
last
four
years
of
my
life
waking
up
every
day
to
school
first
thing
in
the
morning,
while
working
a
12
to
9
job
and
spending
every
weekend
with
a
special
someone,
but
despite
having
a
schedule
that
runs
90
miles
a
minute,
I
regret
nothing
with
the
work
I've
done.
I
have
earned
enough
money
to
support
myself
through
my
first
semester
in
college,
built
long,
lasting
relationships
with
tons
of
awesome
people
and
created
an
experience
that
I'll
never
forget,
even
with
all
3
000
classes.
I've
taken
the
most
important
thing.
K
I've
learned
is
that
time
really
does
fly,
but
we
are
the
pilots
think
about
it.
Do
you
remember?
Freshman
year,
I
don't
either,
but
in
all
seriousness
since
day,
one
at
early
college,
we
have
been
making
memories
like
surprising,
miss
danny
with
the
pink
out
day
and
battling
to
death
in
the
number
one
homeroom.
I
still
don't
know
how
mr
parks
won,
but
alongside
our
best
times,
we
also
had
some
that
weren't
the
best
like
having
any
and
all
tests
ever,
especially
the
act
and
sat
and
the
prerequisites
for
those
ones
and
everyone's
favorite.
K
The
win
test,
our
experience,
starting
out
as
a
hallway
of
only
100
people
and
less
than
10
teachers
and
growing
to
what
is
now
a
bustling
community
of
nearly
400
with
traffic
rivaling
downtown
during
summer
is
unforgettable.
This
unique
journey
we
shared
together
is
something
we
can
never
be
taken
away
and
through
it
all
we
made
it.
K
K
K
If
there's
a
decision
that
you
are
debating
about,
because
you're
scared
of
what
might
happen
take
that
leap
of
faith,
no
matter
the
outcome
for
better
or
for
worse,
live
without
regret,
because
there's
no
time
to
we
can't
go
back
in
time
to
relive
memories
or
redo
things,
to
fix
our
mistakes,
but
we
can
take
advantage
by
making
every
second
count
and
never
looking
back.
Thank
you.

We
are
honored
that
you
were
able
to
join
us
this
morning
to
celebrate
this
truly
exceptional
group
of
young
people
at
this
time.
Please
don
your
face
coverings,
we're
dismissing
all
guests
by
section
out
of
an
abundance
of
precaution,
we're
requesting
that
you
move
directly
to
your
vehicles
and
please
do
not
gather
in
the
stadium
parking
lots
before
we
dismiss,
though,
I'd
like
to
have
one
big
round
of
applause
for
this
group
of
remarkable
young.
