I
am
dr
robert
l
parano
jr,
the
principal
of
the
military
magnet
academy.
I
am
sincerely
honored
to
preside
over
today's
ceremony
this
special
day,
not
only
marks
the
end
of
our
cadets
time
with
the
military
magnet
academy,
but,
more
importantly,
the
beginning
of
truly
making
a
mark
on
the
world
as
a
leader
of
the
21st
century.

Most
importantly,
dear
father,
as
we
face
unknown
challenges,
moving
forward
up
the
road
help
us
to
dear
and
the
greatest
wisdom
of
all,
knowing
that
we
can
do
anything
through
christ
who
strengthens
us
lord,
we
realize
that
one
door
has
closed
while
another
eagerly
awaits
to
be
open.
Therefore,
we
ask
that
you
pave
the
road
with
opportunities
and
inspire
us
to
live
with
hope
in
this
journey.
Called
life
continue
to
bless
us
with
love
protection,
mercy,
strength
and
abundant
wisdom.

To
include
dual

been
active

immediately
following
graduation
and
will
work
toward
an
advanced,
culinary
degree
in
order
to
pursue
his
dreams
of
becoming
a
chef.
So
we
may
see
your
master
chef
one
day,
master
chef,
top
chef.
I
J
Good
evening
I
was
a
bit
early
there
so
sorry
about
that.
But
let
me
just
start
by
saying
good
evening:
everyone
and
I'm
extremely
proud
of
everybody
from
the
people
up
here
on
stage
to
everyone
in
the
audience.
J
It's
a
pleasure
to
be
standing
here
in
front
of
everyone.
It
really
is,
I
can't
describe
the
feeling
of
finally
being
here,
but
it's
not
even
just
the
journey
it's
about
getting
here
and
what
the
journey
brought
us.
J
I'm
proud
to
be
here
as
not
only
a
salutatorian
but
as
a
friend
and
a
classmate
of
all
the
people
who
are
graduating
with
me
for
us
to
end
here
on
this
stage.
It's
truly
a
milestone
in
our
lives.
We've
gone
through
six
seven
more
years
with
some
of
us
and
it's
just
completely
crazy
that
we've
all
gotten
here
together
some
of
these
people.
I
remember
meeting
for
the
first
time
in
sixth
grade.
I
never
imagined
I'd
be
on
the
same
stage
with
them.
A
few
years
later,.
J
J
And
the
journey
hasn't
been
an
easy
one.
I
feel
like
it's
been
hard
for
a
lot
of
us.
I
know
it
hasn't
been
the
easiest
for
me.
There's
been
plenty
of
things
that
I've
come
to
butt
heads
with,
but
I
always
managed
to
get
through
just
like
everyone
else,
or
else
we
wouldn't
be
here
right
now
and
that's
what
I
think
it's
all
about
honestly,
because
after
we
walk
off
the
stage,
those
challenges
aren't
going
to
stop.
J
They
only
get
more
intense,
and
so
what
we
can
do
is
just
continue
to
go
forward
with
the
strengths
and
the
furiosity
that
we
did
before
the
growth
and
development
that
I've
seen
in
everyone
has
been
astounding.
We
are
not
the
same
people
we
were
when
we
entered
this
school,
whether
we
came
in
6th
grade
8th
grade
halfway
through
our
10th
or
what
we
are
not
the
same.
We
all
have
grown
and
we've
matured,
and
I
can't
wait
to
see
the
people
who
we
become
I'm
extremely
proud
of
not
only
myself
but
everyone
else's
academics.
J
I
have
been
the
4.2
since
I
think
last
year
and
it's
been
truly
a
blessing
and
a
great
challenge
to
come.
Second
place
to
byron.
It
has
been
astounding
to
be
able
to
be
challenged
by
someone,
so
talented,
there's
a
few
people.
I
want
to
thank
while
I'm
up
here
and
while
I
got
the
time
the
first
of
them
is
my
mom
without
my
mother.
I
don't
know
if
I'd
be
on
this
stage,
quite
literally,
because
she's,
the
one
who
brought
me
here.
J
But
I
also
just
want
to
thank
her
for
the
strength
she's
given
me
she's.
Given
me
a
lot
of
will
and
not
just
my
first
name
but
she's
helped
me
get
through
an
incredible
amount.
If
it
wasn't
for
her,
I
don't
know
if
I'd
have
the
drive
to
continue
to
do
what
I
have
been
doing
so
I
want
to
say
thank
you
mama.
I
love
you.
J
I
also
want
to
thank
all
of
my
classmates
and
my
friends.
You
all
have
been
there
with
me
through
the
up
and
down
the
good
and
the
bad
from
the
moments
when
I
would
laugh
and
joke
to
the
moments
when
I
would
be
mad
and
want
to
be
left
by
myself.
There
was
always
at
least
one
of
you
there
to
bug
me,
and
I
can't
say
I
complain
so
I
truly
appreciate
it.
J
You
guys
have
been
more
than
friends
you're
a
family
at
this
point,
so
thank
you
all
and
finally,
I
want
to
say
thank
you
to
the
the
educators,
everyone
from
dr
paranoid
and
mr
vela
to
chef
kim
to
miss
kranunka.
You
all
are
just
great-
I
wouldn't
be
here
without
you.
You
all
have
led
me
and
guided
me
with
plenty
of
different
types
of
knowledge
and
experience
that
I'll
need
everyone
from
the
guidance
department
to
the
jrotc
department.
J
You
all
have
played
a
role
in
not
only
shaping
me
but
shaping
everyone
else,
who's
here
and
graduating
today.
So
on
behalf
of
all
of
us,
I
want
to
say
thank
you
and
to
close
off.
I
would
just
like
to
give
a
few
words
of
advice
not
only
to
myself
or
to
my
friends
and
classmates,
but
to
anyone
who's
willing
to
listen,
live
life.
How
you
want
do
what
makes
you
happy?
J
That's
not
a
hard
thing
to
do,
because
sometimes
the
things
we
like
and
the
things
that
make
us
happy,
aren't
the
easiest
things
to
do,
and
that's
kind
of
the
point
about
life.
Things
aren't
always
easy.
Things
rarely
come
easy,
but
if
they
did,
then
what
would
be
the
point?
That's
the
challenge.
It's
satisfying
doing
something
and
completing
it
and
then
getting
the
reward.
It
wouldn't
be
as
satisfying
if
we
just
got
it
as
a
handout,
so
be
kind,
be
happy,
be
yourself
and
be
loving.

O
Good
evening,
everyone
first
things.
First,
I
would
like
to
thank
all
family,
friends
and
guests
in
attendance
today
for
this
special
occasion
to
my
fellow
graduates.
It
was
just
four
short
years
ago
that
we
made
the
walk
across
to
the
high
school
building,
and
now
it's
already
time
for
us
to
leave,
how
did
it
all
go
by
so
fast?
O
Now
here
we
are
today
as
the
upperclassmen,
the
seniors,
graduating
and
taking
the
next
step
in
life,
but
even
during
this
special
day
in
our
lives,
we
can't
help
but
look
back,
we've
all
watched
each
other
grow
physically,
mentally
and
academically,
which
has
ultimately
led
us
to
the
celebration
of
all
of
our
hard
work.
High
school
graduation.
O
O
O
Of
course
it
was
your
job,
but
you
went
above
the
college.
You
went
beyond
the
call
of
duty.
You
took
time
to
explain
the
sirens
sometimes
repeatedly
because
we
weren't
paying
attention
opening
up
classrooms
after
school
or
during
lunch.
If
we
needed
extra
help
and
made
lessons
more
interesting,
so
we
wouldn't
tune
up.
O
O
Although
I
had
your
class
for
the
first
time
this
semester,
it
definitely
felt
like
I
had
been
a
student
before
I
don't
think
I'll
ever
forget
how
excited
you
were
when
I
told
you
that
I
would
be
majoring
in
computer
science
in
the
fall,
and
you
made
sure
that
I
took
something
away
from
your
class
before
entering
your
class.
I
had
no
prior
programming
experience
and
now
I
have
a
good
foundation
to
build
from
so
for
that
I
thank
you.
O
O
O
O
O
Some
of
us
will
go
off
to
college
others
straight
into
the
workforce
and
some
off
into
one
of
our
country's
armed
forces,
but
everyone
is
going
to
travel
their
own
path,
no
matter
what
we
do
or
where
we
go.
There
are
challenges
ahead
of
us,
I'm
asking
from
each
of
you,
including
myself,
to
meet
those
challenges
straight
on
with
your
head
held
high
and
your
heart
wide
open.
O
O
O
O
D
I
am
pleased
to
award
a
one-time
scholarship
to
recognize
three
cadets
who,
over
the
years
at
the
military
magnet
academy,
have
shown
exceptional
leadership.
Their
academic
accomplishments
and
disciplined
actions
have
helped
them
to
stand
out
over
others.
Therefore,
a
2000
scholarship
award
is
awarded
to
these
cadets
to
celebrate
their
exceptional
leadership,
qualities,
byron,
white.
C
Q
Q
Q
R
R
I'm
honored
and
humbled
to
have
been
invited
to
speak
to
you
on
such
an
important
occasion
graduates.
It
is
a
pleasure
for
me
to
join
with
this
wonderful
crowd
of
parents,
family
members,
friends
and
fellow
educators,
to
congratulate
you
and
recognize
you
for
your
accomplishments.
You
did
it.
You've
met
all
the
requirements
for
a
high
school
diploma
from
the
state
of
south
carolina.
R
R
It's
been
said
that
the
principal
goal
of
education
is
to
gr
is
to
create
people
who
are
capable
of
doing
new
things,
not
simply
repeating
what
other
generations
have
done.
In
other
words,
in
order
for
our
society
to
advance
the
people
who
make
up
our
society
must
be
educated.
With
that
definition
in
mind,
I
think
it's
safe
to
say
that
education
is
an
instrument
for
change
in
people's
lives.
R
Education
strengthens
your
self-confidence
and
it
sparks
higher
goals
and
learning.
It
will
spark
higher
goals,
as
you
take
your
next
step
in
life,
whatever
that
might
be,
and
it
will
spark
higher
goals
in
all
aspects
of
your
life.
Education
will
simply
make
you
always
want
to
do
better.
It
is
probably
difficult
right
now
for
you
to
grasp
the
exact
value
of
your
education.
R
Just
finishing
high
school
alone
is
the
first
step
to
opening
up
thousands
of
opportunities
for
you.
There
aren't
many
jobs
left
in
society.
That
does
not
require
at
least
a
high
school
diploma.
That's
one
of
the
first
questions.
You
will
always
be
asked
on
any
application,
so
I
challenge
you
today
to
to
continue
to
get
all
the
education
that
you
can
and
to
continue
to
learn.
Technology
has
and
will
continue
to
affect
our
lives,
but
at
an
increasingly
accelerated
rate,
which
we've
all
witnessed
by
the
impact
of
covet
19.
R
new
career
opportunities
will
take
shape
around
the
internet.
Robot
may
mow.
Our
lawns
drive
our
cars
vacuum,
our
carpets,
the
virtual
office
virtual
classroom
may
be
the
run
of
the
day.
Fuel
cells,
solar
energy
and
other
forms
of
energy,
such
as
hydrogen,
will
power
the
way
we
live.
The
miracles
of
dna
and
genetic
engineering
would
do
everything
from
fighting
and
preventing
disease
to
giving
birth
to
new
businesses
and
industries.
R
Perseverance
is
the
ability
to
never
give
up
perseverance
means
having
willpower,
it
means
hanging
in
there
hold
out
and
hold
on
keeping
on
when
there's
nothing
left
in
you,
except
the
will
to
say
hold
on
having
the
power
of
commitment,
consistency
and
conviction
to
never
give
up.
That
is
the
same.
Will
power
that
each
of
us
will
need
if
we're
going
to
be
successful,
now
I'll,
say
to
you
graduates
many
times
in
life,
things
will
not
go
as
we
planned.
R
R
You
may
have
to
hang
in
there
and
wait
for
some
time.
Ask
me.
I
speak
from
experience
for
some
of
you
that
first
job
may
not
bring
the
size
paycheck.
You
think
you
deserve
ask
me.
I
speak
from
experience.
You
may
have
to
hang
in
there
and
wait
for
sometimes
for
you
that
new
shiny
car
may
have
to
take
a
back
seat
to
an
old
clunker
until
your
other
priorities
are
met.
You
may
have
to
hang
in
there
and
wait
for
some
time.
R
However,
if
you
study
the
lives
of
any
successful
person,
you
will
find
that
many
of
them
failed
before
they
succeeded.
Yet
they
persevered
so.
You
know
the
saying:
if
at
first
you
don't
succeed,
try
again
have
a
belief
in
yourself
and
a
higher
power.
If
you
believe
that
you
cannot
do
it,
then
you
have
already
failed.
Success
begins
with
a
positive
self-image
and
a
belief
that
it
can
be
done.
Therefore,
I
would
say
to
you:
ultimately:
you
are
in
charge
of
your
life.
No
one
can
determine
your
success
or
failure.
R
It's
up
to
you,
no
matter
how
extensive
you're
training,
no
matter,
how
wise
your
advice,
no
matter
how
much
your
coaches,
your
parents,
teachers,
advisors,
nurtured,
you,
you
and
you
alone
are
in
charge.
The
rules
for
this
journey
for
the
next
leg
does
not
allow
substitute
runners.
You
must
run
your
race,
you
must
take
ownership
and
personal
responsibility
for
your
race,
your
journey,
your
life,
remember
you
and
you
alone
are
responsible
for
what
happens
in
your
life.
You
can't
blame
anyone
else.
R
We
have
to
take
full
responsibility
for
our
actions
and
watch
how
real
life
will
change
just
doing
enough
to
get
by
won't
make
it
happen.
Excellence
is
about
doing
something
uncommonly
good,
it's
not
about
perfection,
because
perfection
is
a
goal
that
none
of
us
will
achieve,
but
excellence
is
about
becoming
what
we
are
capable
of
becoming
and
it
is
deliberate.
It's
not
an
accident
that
we
stumble
upon
is
about
asking
ourselves
more
and
becoming
more
and
demanding
more
of
ourselves.
R
In
fact,
demanding
more
of
ourselves
than
others.
Demand
of
us
has
strong
determination
exists
for
competition,
uncompromising
discipline,
but
a
commitment
to
excellence.
More
than
anything
else
accounts
for
being
hailed
as
the
greatest
record-setting
things
to
be
accomplished.
Excellence
does
not
tolerate
excuses.
Excuses
are
not
acceptable.
R
R
Your
accomplishments
are
many,
and
I
challenge
you
to
continue
to
pursue
excellence
in
all
that
you
do.
Life
will
come
at
you
fast,
but
the
military
magnet
academy
has
equipped
you
with
the
tools
you
need
to
handle
it.
Education
is
learning
to
solve
problems.
Perseverance,
perseverance
is
that
special
attribute
that
will
keep
us
going
earlier.
In
my
speech,
I
told
you
to
ask
me,
because
I
speak
from
firsthand,
how
many
of
you
in
this
graduating
class
will
be
a
first
generation
college
student.
R
R
Thank
you.
There
is
no
set
path.
You
do
it
on
your
time
on
your
schedule,
I
was
just
like
you
coming
out
of
high
school.
I
didn't
think
that
I
could
go
to
college
or
no
one
pointed
me
in
the
right
direction
so
immediately
after
graduating
from
high
school,
I
enlisted
in
the
army
as
an
18
year
old
private,
and
it's
probably
the
best
thing
that
I've
ever
done
in
my
life.
So
I
want
to
congratulate
each
of
you
for
the
commitment
to
serve
our
country
again
to
these
parents.
R
Again,
thank
you
for
inviting
me
to
be
with
you
hang
in
there.
I
know
that
the
military
magnet
academy
graduates
are
ready
and
for
those
of
you
because
I
know
everyone
have
different
choices
to
make,
and
I
understand
that
all
of
you
cannot
at
this
time,
enroll
at
south
carolina
state.
So
let
me
say
to
you
now:
the
academic
transfer
portal
will
always
be
open
to
you.
Thank
you
very
much.
I
The
change
of
command
ceremony
is
a
military
tradition
that
is
rich
with
symbolism
and
heritage
dating
back
to
medieval
times.
In
more
recent
times,
the
colors
represent
not
only
the
heritage
of
the
unit,
but
also
the
unity
and
loyalty
of
its
soldier.
The
colors
are
the
commander's
symbol
of
authority
representing
his
responsibility
to
the
organization.
K
B
C
C
The
work
is
done
by
the
authority
invested
in
me
by
the
charleston
county
school
district
under
the
state
of
south
carolina.
We
now
confer
and
affirm
and
state
that
these
cadet
candidates
have
met
all
requirements
in
accordance
with
south
carolina
department
of
education
standards,
and
we
declare
them
as
alumni
and
graduates
of
the
military
magnet
academy.
T
Good
evening,
on
behalf
of
the
senior
class
of
2022,
we
are
honored
to
present
a
class
gift
to
our
esteemed
commencement
speaker.
Thank
you
for
finding
it
not
robbery
to
make
our
class
commitment
ceremony
an
important
part
of
your
day.
We
will
always
remember
that
he
made
the
sacrifice
for
us
so
that
we
admit
so
that
we
may
return
the
blessing
forward
to
others.
T
Please
bow
your
head,
dear
god,
as
we
end
the
ceremony,
we
want
to
thank
you
for
all
the
marvelous
things
you
have
done
today.
Thank
you
for
your
love
that
you
have
revealed
to
us
and
for
the
love
that
we
have
shared
together
today.
We
thank
you,
god
for
every
prayer
we
prayed
for
every
prayer.
We
have
prayed
every
song.
We
have
sung
all
the
things
we
have
learned
and
all
the
laughter
and
fun.
Thank
you
for
all
the
joy
you
brought
in
all
our
wonderful
times
together.
