Appreciate
the
chance
to
be
here:
I'm
Carol,
Jackson,
1114,
61
Patterson
on
James
Island
I'm
here
today
to
continue
to
represent
I,
think
the
communities
of
James
Island
in
trying
to
follow
all
of
the
bouncing
balls
for
the
Constituent
District.
Three
bus
lot:
conundrum
that
we
are
very
confused
about
I'm
here
today
to
basically
ask
you
all
to
not
put
forward
any
specific
recommendation
for
the
board
to
vote
on
4:27
community
members
across
james
island.
E
Don't
know
what
is
going
on
the
last
public
hearing
that
you
had
or
public
presentation
was
all
focused
on
the
camp:
rogue
middle
school
campus,
and
now
we
come
to
find
out
buried
in
the
documents
that
are
before
the
committee's
is
today.
That
is
back
to
the
James
Island
elementary
school.
That
feels
disrespectful
to
many
people
that
there
has
been
that
kind
of
process
that
has
been
linear
decision,
making
not
trying
to
bring
the
whole
community
together
to
find
a
solution
that
they
can
get
behind.
With
the
school
board.
E
We
feel
like
the
neighborhoods
are
being
pitted
against
each
other
and
in
first
James,
Island
elementary
and
then
Megan's
school
and
then
camp
Road
and
now
back
to
James,
Island
and
who
knows
the
other
locations
that
have
been
considered
and
not
really
discussed
with
us.
So
we
would
like
for
you
to
convene
a
citizen's
Charette
type
decision-making
forum
where
you
can
have
a
good
neighbor.
All
the
ideas
can
be
on
the
table.
E
We
understand
there
are
ways
to
ask
for
a
waiver
to
maybe
disperse
the
busses
to
a
variety
of
school
locations
and
we're
not
all
suffering
in
one
place.
I
really
appeal
to
your
better
common
sense
to
make
this
a
Break
process,
because,
right
now
it
feels
like
the
CCSD
is
dictating
to
james
island
community,
and
I
know
you
don't
mean
to
thank.
F
G
I
wondered
about
this
as
well.
The
deep
rebus
ought
to
be
constructed
on
the
dams.
On
my
elementary
school
was
the
language
in
the
2010
referendum
was
approved
in
a
board
meeting
on
November
14
2011
repent
2014
was
included
in
capital
expenditures,
a
meeting
in
January
of
2015
and
was
one
of
the
projects
listed
when
we
approved
the
budget
in
June
of
2015.
So
this
has
been
a
board
action
in
open
session.
Clearly
worded.
D
So
thank
you
so
much
for
hearing
from
us
today,
I
think
I'll
try
to
be
brief.
You
know
a
lot
of
folks
have
expressed
similar
things,
but
the
overall
consideration
or
problem
issue
that
we
have
is
that
we
think
it's
a
bad
idea
to
co-locate
small
children
at
play
with
industrial-grade
Wescott.
It's
a
bad
idea.
Wherever
it
happens,
it's
just
better
to
try
to
find
the
slot
space
that's
away
from
playgrounds
and
where
small
children
are
playing.
There
was
also
the
issue
I
think
in
terms
of
process
with
the
camper
of
middle
school.
D
Do
that,
meaning
that
that
alternative
was
not
put
good
fake?
There
was
no
place
proposed
to
house
the
buses,
while
that
was
being
while
that
lot
was
being
constructed.
So
obviously
it
was
never
a
viable
alternative.
A
lot
of
people
felt
like
it
was
just
thrown
out
there
as
a
public
meeting
to
create
the
political
capital
and
drive
to
bring
the
bus
path
back
to
James
Island
elementary
school.
It
was
left
a
very
sour
taste
in
many
of
our
mouths,
because
obviously
it
was
not
a
viable
option
that
was
never
considered
as
a
viable
option.
D
It
wasn't
presented
as
a
realistic
alternative.
We
thought
it
was
staged
for
the
goal
of
theatre
sort
of
I
understand
that
the
constraints
of
this
are
predicated
on
the
five
to
six
acres
so
that
all
of
the
buses
can
be
co-located
in
the
same
place.
But
we
also
know
that
the
Department
of
Education
you
can
grant
a
waiver
concerns,
centralized
parking
facilities
if
it's
requested
by
the
district
superintendent
and
that's
what
we
would
like
to
see
historic
indoors
as
an
approach.
D
B
Hi,
my
name
is
chika
I
have
a
child
at
styling,
Elementary
I,
didn't
even
this
conversation
I
just
found
out
about
everything
when
it
came
to
us
in
regards
to
camp
right,
I
had
sending
them
to
you
guys
over
the
weekend.
My
main
concern
is
that
there's
defusing
resources
in
general
we
plant
seem
to
we're
out
there
I've
seen
four
five
acres
I,
don't
believe
that
is
completely
necessary.
B
I
would
like
to
see
kind
of
a
brainstorming
or
throwing
of
what
that
buzzlog
is
going
to
look
at
before
we
commit
to
five
acres
of
our
resources
on
James
Island,
which
is
extremely
hard
to
come
by
I
sent
some
different
bus
Lots
from
around
the
state.
One
of
the
ones
that
was
local
was
more
closely
to
the
middle.
They
are
actually
over
35
acres
and
their
bus
lot
is
currently
2.1
mr.
socha
mr.
B
McNeil
prior
to
this,
and
he
suggested
that
that
lot
was
not
up
to
code,
but
it
still
has
a
lot
of
space
and
I
think
the
visual
definitely
helps
that
there
may
be
some
other
options
to
making
it
fits
within
the
standards
that
are
set.
My
suggestion
is
to
take
our
time
to
our
due
diligence:
come
up
the
designs
to
utilize
as
little
resources
as
possible
within
the
bus
standards
and
then
trying
to
find
property
that
will
work
accordingly.
B
H
F
I
Good
evening,
one
everyone
but
Monica
Smith
I'm
vice
chair,
but
if
the
citrus
would
be
nine
and
I'm
just
here
to
give
my
support
for
the
Montessori,
School,
Andy
and
I
were
really
excited
about
it.
So
we
just
hope
that
anything
continued
the
face
continue
to
go
along
as
such
plans
to
speed
really
debilitating.
I
H
C
Good
evening,
everyone
I
am
a
my
name,
is
Patricia
Miller
I'm,
a
former
Montessori
educator
and
I
know
that
the
benefits
of
this
program
for
fra
sin
and
to
all
children
will
benefit
them
in
a
different
learning
technique.
I'm
here
to
request
that
the
district
moves
forward
to
allow
Gayle
Frison
to
become
a
Montessori,
School
and
I,
also
I'm
amazed
by
Miss,
Kim,
hey
I,
told
her
daughter
at
Montessori
and
I.
C
Remember
she
came
into
the
environment
one
morning
the
classroom
environment
one
morning
and
said
I'm
going
to
start
my
own
Montessori
program
and
she
successfully
did
that
and
she
know
there's
for
all
children.
It
doesn't
have
any
face
or
any
colors
for
all
children
and
I.
Ask
that
you
bring
this
program
to
the
community
by
yourself
right
and
thank
you.
Thank
you.
J
Good
afternoon,
everyone,
my
name
is
charreah
watson,
and
I
am
the
president
of
the
SI
ce
and
UNICEF
Ryerson.
Currently,
I
am
also
the
mother
of
a
first
grader
at
Edith
out
Frierson
and
I
am
here
to
express
not
only
my
desire,
but
the
community's
desire
to
for
Edith
elf
Reisman
to
become
a
or
a
school
in
my
district.
Thank.
J
K
H
M
Good
afternoon,
everyone
thank
you
for
allowing
us
to
be
here.
We
know
that
beautiful
Frierson
has
a
community
that
has
had
a
total
of
five
meetings.
The
last
one
was
the
largest,
which
was
at
the
high
school,
and
so
basically,
this
team
has
created
this
program
proposal
to
implement
the
Montessori
program
at
Edith,
L
Frierson.
M
Our
goal
is
to
make
sure
that
one
we
have
sustainability
at
Frierson
Elementary
and
the
most
important
goal
is
to
make
sure
that
we
are
providing
a
quality
program
in
which
all
of
our
children
can
benefit,
one
that
the
community
has
requested
and
asked
for
again
again
so
with
the
move
to
our
second
slide,
and
so
our
goal
today
is
really
just
to
give
you
an
update,
and
so
in
the
1718
school
year.
We
know
that
we'll
have
three
and
four-year-olds
at
Ryerson
a
total
of
26
students.
H
H
G
G
A
G
Programs
throughout
the
district,
and
that
does
include
Reverend
Collins's,
that
all
the
other
Montessori
schools
in
Charleston
have
an
attempt,
have
an
attendance
zone
in
which
you're
not
part
of
the
applicant
pool
you're,
you
walk
into
the
school
and
you
apply
or
if
you
don't
want
to
be
in
Montessori,
you
have
an
assigned
to
secondary
school.
Is
that
the
plan
for
Frierson?
Is
it
going
to
operate
identically?
To
that
it.
F
G
We
do
you
guys
believe
you
have
time
to
work
out
all
that,
because
I
don't
want
to
start
something
that
looks
like
Montessori
light
and
the
kids
on
John's
Island
aren't
having
the
exact
same
execution
as
the
kids
elsewhere,
and
that
includes
the
secondary
area.
The
the
the
other
question
I
have
is
like
Percy
and.
C
G
K
N
G
Want
to
make
sure
that
we
don't
have
I
liked
what
the
lady
said
is.
Maybe
considering
speeding
up
pulling
the
kids
back
onto
the
island
because
I'm
like
Percy
and
unlike
chain,
seven
Zuma.
You
now
have
John's
Island
residents
who
have
begun
in
the
Montessori
program
and
have
aged
up
so
we're
now
talking
about
bringing
them
in
we're
talking
about
transferring
them
to
another
school
and
I
want
to
make
sure
that
whatever
this
program
does
it
doesn't
get
overwhelmed
by
students
not
living
in
that
area
that
it's
you
know,
North.
We.
