Description
February 11, 2019 COW Policy and Personnel Committee Meeting
A
C
Ma'am,
this
is
just
a
desire
to
clarify
the
policy
to
make
sure
it
comes
with
all
the
different
types
of
searches
that
are
happen
so
previously.
It
always.
We
simply
mentioned
reasonable
suspicion,
searches
and
we're
looking
to
just
capture
that
the
random
searches
and
blanket
searches
that
we
are
currently
doing.
Our
schools
aren't
very
clearly
defined
in
the
policy,
so.
D
A
matter
of
you
want
to
make
sure
that
what
we
have
written
corresponds
with
what
we
actually
need
to
do.
Yes,
that
right,
that's
a
lot
of
question,
we
never
say:
oh
we're,
gonna
party
didn't
want
they
had
it,
but
the
raid
on
the
individuals
reasons
such
as
original
searches
of
individuals
may
be
conducted
by
school
personnel
or
school
ground,
post
blueprint
or
a
school
sponsored
activities.
D
But
I
want
to
read
that
city,
someone
wandering
always
thinking
about
identified
an
individual
or
search
on
the
school
ground
or
event,
or
we
talking
about
such
an
entire
classroom
with
these
of
students
or
or
entire
quality
of
people
or
one
person
I
want
to
make
sure
we
know
to
make
sure
we're
not
singing
about
a
person.
Fourth
searches.
That
would
violate
rights
absolutely,
but
the
policy
didn't
say
here:
I
want
to
make
sure
we
get
that
clear.
That
sure.
C
Of
captures
that
nobody
can
be
targeted
without
reasonable
suspicion
before
and
last
of
these
other
protections
in
place.
For
example,
if
there's
a
random
search,
we
have
to
be
able
to
clearly
show
that
it
was
scientifically
random,
but
there's
no
possibility
that
aspirin
was
targeted
or
the
image
was
targeted,
because
we
have
these
protections.
D
D
D
The
course
I
read
this
puzzle,
you
know
what
I'm
saying
that
when
you
what
I'm
saying
what
would
you
like
I
said
you
can
add
to
the
law
specified
and
then
I'm
saying
is
that
if
I
went
along
once
the
longer
lon,
you
cannot
change
it.
You
know
me
got
a
lawyer
right
there
little.
We
don't
make
laws
in
the
policy,
but
in
Vienna
what.
D

A
D
C
D
Is
live
executing
please
another
time.
Fourth
time
for
security,
I
think
improvement.
I
just
want
to
make
I
just
want
to
make
sure
we
were
identifying
particular
persons
and
they
say
balls
reasonable
suspicion.
Now,
really
that's
really
the
Langham.
Looking
for
in
the
process.
The
process
is
reasonable.
Suspicion,
like
I,
see.
A
C
So
when
it
comes
to
reasonable
suspicion,
searches
that
are
conducted
every
day
in
the
schools
that
information
currently
is
not
centrally
managed.
So,
for
example,
if
an
administrator
walks
into
a
restroom
and
smell
cigarette
smoke
and
find
the
student
in
the
restroom,
they
would
conduct
a
regional
suspicion.
Search
of
that
student
and.
D
A
B
B
D
D
Person,
but
the
house
will
be
just
working
over
there
when
you
having
trouble
with
these
habits,
if
the
weights
and
wherever
them
we're
gonna
need
to
come
back
in
a
minute.
There's
something
else
legally.
Once
you
see
some
potential
but
live
reliability,
that's
my
fixed
eroding.
Only
today,
most
ponies
moved
with
you
baby
shorts.
C
C
Types
of
searches
as
blanket
searches
and
random
searches
are
considered
reasonable
under
the
law
which
the
policy
requires.
So
we
have
to
have
reasonable
the
reason
when
the
standard
met.
Bringing
this
forward
just
clarifies
that
the
board
and
we
as
a
district,
recognize
clearly
that
these
random
searches
and
blanket
searches
are
also
reasonable.
Okay,
thank
you.
