From YouTube: District 9 Regular Meeting
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
D
Okay,
the
the
agenda
disappeared.
D
All
right,
we
are
all
set.
First,
the
the
agenda.
F
C
D
D
D
Okay
and
miss
tammy
seconded
toshiba
face
fell
off.
D
C
Okay,
miss
chairwoman
smith.
We
have
our
first
candidate
on
the
line,
mr
leon
green.
D
G
G
D
F
A
Leon
and
I'm
gonna
call
you
leon,
because
that's
what
I
call
you,
okay,
as
you,
you
stated,
you've
been
on
the
board
for
a
long
time,
you're,
a
long-standing
member.
So
what
talents?
A
A
Are
you
familiar
with
the
you
know?
The
island
has
transitioned
some
and
we're
currently
in
transition
from
the
when
the
last
one.
Last
time
you
served,
are
you
familiar
with
the
current
issues
and
do
you
have
ideas
on
how
we
can
best
address
that
for
the
betterment
of
all
students
on
the
island,
not
just
the
newcomers
or
the
or
the
benies,
but
the
vineyards
and
the
communists?
A
G
The
education,
the
courses
and
the
curriculum,
there's
also,
is
that
still
an
issue
with
the
the
building
of
a
new
school
okay,
all
that
needs
to
be
addressed,
and
also
we
have
a
tremendous
amount
of
subdivision
being
built
on
on
john's
island
and
so
we're
going
to
have
to
accommodate
those
students,
and
so
we
need
to
upgrade
our
curriculum
so
that
we
could
keep
those
students
on
the
island.
G
A
D
A
D
D
G
G
I
think
it
was
do
I
plan
to
run
for
the
constituent
school
board.
Well,
my
name
is
on
the
ballot.
Okay,
okay,
right
right
now
they
are
two
vacancies
and
four
candidates.
D
D
A
Too
mr
green
good
evening
and
welcome
to
the
meeting
today
and
so
glad
that
you
applied
for
the
vacancy.
My
question
only
is
that,
what's
the
primary
focus
you
would
have
if
you
are
selected
to
fill
this
vacancy.
G
My
primary
focus,
but
I
would
have
to
deal
with
all
the
issues
that
come
before
me
I
would
have
and
then
I'm
sure
they
are
priorities
whatever
is
priority.
That
is
what
I
would
focus
on.
G
This
time
well,
I
still
have
grandchildren
in
school,
and
so
I've
always
was
involved
with
the
school,
since
my
children
were
small.
So
I
I
haven't.
G
B
Welcome
again-
and
I'm
just
curious
because
you
have
served
so
long
and
we
know
our
attitudes
have
changed
towards
how
we
discipline
and
punish-
and
I'm
just
curious
because
my
brother
teaches
in
the
schools
up
north
and
he
talked
to
me
about
something
called
restorative
justice.
So
I'm
very
curious
about
your
feelings
about
you
know
when
we're
dealing
with
the
discipline
issues,
you
know.
What's
what
your
priorities
for
the
kids
are.
G
G
Now,
however,
you
want
to
define
that,
but
anyway,
there
are
certain
things
that
you
can
and
cannot.
Do
I'm
not
going
to
put
myself
in
jeopardy
by
trying
to
instill
all
or
try
to
bend
the
rules
satisfy
my
ego.
They
are
children.
They
are
supposed
to
be
treated
as
children.
They
are
supposed
to
be
taught
okay.
So,
let's
put
it
this
way,
I
know
the
rules
and
I'm
not
going
to
end
it
and
I'm
not
going
to
put
myself
in
jeopardy
because
I
don't
do
jail.
G
G
I
think
mrs
mrs
klein's
question
was
whether
I
was
going
to
run
for
the
school
board
position.
Okay,
and
the
answer
is
yes,
I'm
on
the
ballot.
Okay,.
A
G
What
will
I
bring
back
differently?
Do
I
need
to
bring
something
differently
or
all
I
just
need
to
be
able
to
deal
with
with
the
issues
that
is
before
me.
G
G
A
I
would
just
like
to
thank
leon
green
for
putting
forth
the
effort
to
come
back
on
the
board
to
assist
us
because
experience,
there's
no
replacement
for
experience
and
we've
got
several
new
board
members
and
I
think,
having
some
added
experience
and
some
history
would
certainly
be
beneficial
to
to
the
board.
So
thank
you.
If
you're
selected,
thank
you.
G
Also
I'd
like
you
to
know
that
during
this
time,
I've
always
been
in
contact
with
mr
larson.
It's
as
a
matter
of
fact.
I
have
even
given
him
some
suggestions.
Well,
I
gave
him
a
suggestion
pertaining
to
graduation
and
I
also
gave
him
a
suggestion
about
producing
the
saint
john's
face
mass
yeah.
So
that's
coming
out
and
I'm
kind
of
excited
about
that.
G
It
is
my
baby
and
I'm
kind
of
I'm
anxious
to
get
back
in
the
press
box,
but
you
know
for
the
crowd
that
we
usually
have
everybody
could
socially
distance
themselves.
They
won't
that
won't
be
a
problem.
I
just
need
to
bring
my
wipes
for
the
for
the
microphone.
D
G
D
G
D
And
you
know
we
meet
well,
we
meet
evie,
you
know
we
meet
the
first
and
the
third
of
the
month,
so
tuesday's
right,
the
first,
the
first
tuesday
and
the
third
tuesday
of
each
month.
So
we
should
have
some
response
back
by
the
first
of
september.
Hopefully.
G
Okay,
so
were
you
meeting
by
way
of
zoom
during
the
summer.
A
D
C
C
C
D
I'm
doing
okay,
we
have
some
questions
that
we're
gonna,
ask
you,
and
once
this
is
over,
you
can
continue
to
youtube
and
watch
the
rest
of
the
meeting.
The
constituent
board,
meeting,
okay,.
H
Okay,
I'm
gonna
do
my
very
best
to
hear
everything
you're
saying
it's
raining
very
hard
over
here
on
the
eye.
D
I
know
it's
raining
hard
over
here
by
me
too,
so
how
would
you
separate
your
current
position
with
st
john's
high
school
from
the
constituent
board
responsibilities.
H
First
of
all,
I
want
to
say
good
evening
to
everyone
on
the
zoom
this
evening.
It
is
my
honor
to
be
invited
to
this
meeting.
H
A
Hi,
my
name
is
renee
blygen
and
I
am
vice
chair
district
9,
constituent
board,
welcome
and
thank
you
for
your
interest
in
serving
on
a
d9
school
board
being
an
employee
at
st
john's
high
school.
I
know
that
you're,
aware
of
some
of
the
challenges
of
the
district
as
well
as
some
of
the
strengths.
A
H
Being
a
proponent
of
education,
public
schools,
I
grew
up
in
the
public
school
system
and
with
my
position
as
a
focus
facilitator.
I
am
an
additional
help
to
the
administration
there
in
reference
to
discipline.
My.
H
A
social
emotional
perspective
there
are
times
when
things
become
overwhelming,
for
students
for
teachers,
staff
and
faculty,
and
so
I
am
there
as
that
extra
help.
I
work
in
the
iss
room.
It
is
now
called
focus
facilitation,
and
so
I
am
there
to
lend
my
skills
as
not
only
a
crisis
chaplain,
but
I
am
also
certified
in
schism
crisis
intervention.
Stress
management.
I
can
bring
all
those
components
forward
because
there
may
be
times
when
parents
are
so
frustrated
when
the
constituents
are
so
frustrated.
H
D
C
Question
is:
I
would
like
to
ask
for
some
explanation
of
restorative
practice,
role
at
st
john's.
H
The
restorative
practice,
rules
at
st
john's,
are
to
bring
the
students
back
to
a
place
where
they
can
be
productive
citizens
in
the
school
and
productive
learners
to
those
so
that
they
can
be
restored
to
a
place
where
they
are
calm.
H
So
once
those
children
are
restored
back,
which
means
that,
with
my
restorative
practices,
what
I
do
is
I
will
they
will
send
the
children
to
me.
They
will
be
separated.
I
will
de-escalate
them
or
calm
them,
and
then
my
restorative
practice
would
be
to
allow
them
to
see
themselves
in
the
problem.
H
How
they
could
have
been
have
contributed
to
the
problem
and
how
they
could
have
prevented
the
problem,
how
they
could
be
problem
solvers
within
their
own
situations,
and
that's
the
practices
at
st
john's
high
school
to
respect
the
students,
as
we
would
want
them
to
step,
respect
ourselves
and
then
to
restore
them.
To
a
place
where
they
can
be
productive
to
the
teachers,
the
classroom
and
their
fellow
cohorts.
H
Well,
I
actually
wanted
to
apply
during
the
last
election,
but
I
missed
it.
I
actually
missed
two
previous
elections.
I've
been
on
the
island
now
for
over
22
years
and
I've
always
been
a
proponent
of
education.
I've
always
wanted
to
be
a
helper
in
some
ways
and
I've
always
wanted
to
be
a
part
of
the
school
board
if
possible.
H
I
missed
two
previous
elections,
and
so
when
this
election
came
up,
the
constituents
reached
out
to
me
and
said
miss
ford.
We
need
you,
there's
a
vacancy
on
the
board
and
we
would
love
for
you
to
be
a
part
of
night.
Thank
them
graciously
because
I
really
didn't
I
didn't
know
the
deadline
was
coming
up,
and
so
I
really
want
to
be
on
this
board,
because
I
I
believe
that
I
can
affect
change
as
a
change
agent.
H
My
background
and
my
degree
is
in
human
services,
which
is
serving
people
and
that's
what
I
love
to
do.
I
love
to
serve
people.
I
love
to
help
people.
I
am
a
critical
thinker,
I
am
a
strategist,
and
so
I
really
wanted
to
be
on
the
board
for
those
reasons,
because
we
see
how
saint
john's
high
school,
the
students
enrollment
have
decreased
angel
oak
elementary
just
built
a
new
school
not
too
long
ago,
and
it's
already
beyond
capacity
mount
zion
elementary
school
is
at
capacity.
H
We
need
to
have
a
retention
policy
in
place
to
retain
these
students
and
to
give
them
a
quality
education.
I
am
very
passionate
about
this.
I
have
three
grown
children,
eight
grands
and
two
great
grandchildren,
and
I
have
raised
my
children,
five,
nine
and
ten
after
their
father
died.
I
was
a
single
parent
and
so.
H
H
A
Okay,
thank
you.
Are
you
in
my
last
one?
Are
you
familiar
with
the
responsibilities
of
the
board
members
for
b9
for
constituent
board
members.
H
Yes,
the
job
of
the.
H
Constituency
handle
discipline,
transfers,
redistricting
and
I
think
there'll
be
a
lot
of
that
happening
because
of
the
influx
of
people
with
the
development
on
johns
allen
with
so
many
people
coming
in.
So
I
believe
that
you
all
the
board
will
be
faced
with
redistricting
redistricting.
H
I
can't
say
that
word
so
please
forgive
me
so
I
know
those
are
some
of
the
tasks
and
the
challenges
that
the
board
faces.
B
Yes
and
again
welcome,
I
have
a
question
I
know.
Historically,
there
have
been
unequal
outcomes
in
say
there
were
three
kids
involved
in
the
same
incident,
and
I
I
understand
historically
that
not
there
wasn't
always
equal
justice,
but
I
am
wondering
if
you
think
it's
possible
when
you
have
maybe
three
children
same
incident,
where
you
might
have
a
different
outcome
for
different
kids
on
depending
on
their
needs.
B
H
Well,
my
take
on
that
is
to
look
at
the
totality
of
the
situation.
That
is
to
look
at
the
record
of
the
child.
H
We
also
need
to
look
at
what
will
be
best
trying
to
work
with
the
parents,
because
sometimes
when
we
need
to
take
a
child
out
of
the
school
and
to
move
them,
someplace
else
there's
problems
with
transportation,
which
would
then
delineate
every
chance
of
a
child,
continuing
their
education
or
maybe
dropping
out,
and
so
a
lot
of
factors
come
into
play
when
making
those
type
decisions.
So
you
must
take
those
situation
on
an
as
calm
basis
and
look
at
the
totality
of
the
situation
irregardless
to
three
or
multiple
students
being
involved
in
an
incident.
B
A
I'm
doing
good
my
question
to
you
is:
I
I
heard
you
mention
about
the
constituents
asking
you
to
be
part
of
this
board
and
mentioning
that.
How
would
you
come
on
this
board
and
how
would
you
come
with
your
plans
and
how
would
you
enhance
it.
H
Knew
I
would
need
to
be
informed
as
to
what
is
going
on.
I
have
been
reading,
of
course,
the
minutes
from
jordan,
but
I
believe
in
fair
play.
I
do
not
believe
in
favoritism
or
siding
with
someone,
I
believe
in
letting
the
facts
make
the
decision
and
bringing
everything
into
totality.
H
So
as
I
come
forward
what
I
mean
I
am
going
to
lean
on
and
trust
those
that
have
been
on
the
board
for
so
many
years
for
so
long
of
a
time
to
to
help
to
guide
me,
because
I
am
a
newcomer,
I
would
be
a
newcomer
to
the
board
and
so.
E
B
H
Have
it
will
be
a
collaborative
effort,
of
course,
because
we
must
collaborate
in
order
to
effect
change,
and
so
I
believe
in
effective
communication
and
as
we
collaborate
as
I
bring
my
ideas
forward.
Of
course,
I
will
be
open-eared,
open-minded
and
open-heart
to
hear
from
those
that
have
more
experience
in
the
district
than
I
do.
A
D
C
D
C
Okay,
miss
klein's.
Second
question
is
to
miss
ford:
do
you
participate
in
circles
with
students.
H
Yes,
I
do
I
love
circles
with
my
students,
they
love
it
as
well.
This
is
circles
is
a
restorative
practice
and
what
we
do
is
we
would
circle
the
students
with
the
chairs,
distancing
them,
and
so
what
I
do
is
I
have
a
ball,
which
is
a
pressure
ball
that
I
use
and
the
only
person
that
can
talk
is
the
one
with
the
ball
in
their
hand,
and
you
cannot
speak
if
you
don't
have
the
ball.
H
So
the
ball
gives
you
permission
or
whatever
item
I
would
give
them
to
use,
and
what
we
will
do
is
go
around
the
circle
and
allow
them
to
speak.
D
H
A
D
D
Okay,
that
will
be
it
and
thank
you
for
coming
out,
miss
fordham
and
we
meet
every
first
sport
miss
ford.
We
meet
every
first
and
third
of
the
month,
and
so
we
should
have
a
tuesday
every
tuesday,
every
first
tuesday
and
every
third
tuesday
of
the
month.
Let
me
clarify
that
the
right
way,
sorry,
and
hopefully
by
the
first.
We
may
have
a
conclusion
for
you.
H
Thank
you.
Miss
smith,
miss
lockhart,
miss
bligen,
dr
karen
simmons,
to
michelle
glover
to
miss
pat
klein
to
miss
champagne,
and
I
thank
you
all
for
having
me
this
afternoon.
H
A
D
D
C
D
C
Okay,
so
if
someone
can
make
a
motion,
please.
A
D
C
D
D
C
C
D
D
D
D
A
Madam
chair,
I
make
a
motion
that
leon
green's
name
be
submitted
to
fill
the
current
vacancy
on
d9
board.
D
D
Can
you
can
you
put
that
agenda
on
the
because
I
don't
have
the
agenda
in
front
of
me.
C
D
C
D
C
D
D
D
D
E
A
No
just
football
start,
they
started
practicing
on
yesterday
and
they
do
have
a
new
head
coach
mike
harwick.
A
I'm
sorry
ahead
because
I'm
needing
to
get
off
actually
for
another
conference
yeah,
I
did
check
with
heart
gap
regarding
their
sick
and
I
have
not
gotten
the
correspondence
I
have
attempted
twice
to
get
in
touch
with.
A
Mr
I
was
I
spoke
with
someone
at
the
office
and
I
was
told
that
mr
vela
would
be
able
to
tell
me
he
has
not
been
there
up
until
this
afternoon
and
I
did
not
think
I'm
not
as
young
as
I
used
to
be
so
I
emailed
mr
benintendo
asked
him
if
he
can
find
that
information
for
me.
As
soon
as
I
get
it,
I
will
give
it
to
everyone.
Okay,
the
president
is
an
fb.
Stick
is
active
for
this
coming
school
term.
D
D
Oh
eo
freisen,
I
apologize.
I
was
on
e.l
fry
since
sick.
I
think
it
was
two
weeks
ago
and
what
they
did
was
they
showed
what
the
school
was.
D
Gonna
look
like
for
the
kids
who
were
returning,
especially
the
younger
kids
and
they're,
asking
everybody
to
they're
still
taking
the
response
for
whether
you
want
your
child
to
come
back
to
school,
physically
or
virtually,
and
so
that's
mainly
what
they
were
talking
about
and
showing
they
did
show
what
the
classroom
would
look
like
with
the
plastic
boards
going
around
the
kids
and
how
it
would
look
like
they
have
a
pole
in
the
middle
and
they
would
put
plastic
going
out
like
it
would
look
like
triangles.
D
So
that
was
it,
that's
all
and
I
haven't
had
any
any
other
response
from
them.
Yet.
F
Sure
I
have
a
couple
of
quick
items.
First,
I'm
I'm
very
excited
to
say.
F
As
far
as
teacher
vacancies
in
district
9,
we
currently
have
a
special
ed
resource
vacancy,
which
is
which
is
actually
a
part-time
0.5
at
mount
zion
elementary
and
then
we
have
an
rotc
instructor
at
st
john's,
and
I
am
excited
to
announce
that,
because
this
has
not
been
a,
this
has
been
not
a
normal
recruitment
season
for
us,
as
you
can
imagine,
but
it
is
some
of
our
highest
numbers
of
recruit
recruits
across
the
whole
district
because,
as
you
probably
are,
are
aware,
we've
had
some
needs
to
transfer
teachers
because
garrett
closed,
we
had
burns
the
final
piece
going
moving
to
meeting
street
as
part
of
the
meeting
street
project
we've
had
the
acceleration
schools
where
we
had
teachers
transfer
out,
we've
had
lucy
beckham
opening
in
mount
pleasant.
C
F
In
the
district,
so
it's
one
of
the
largest
numbers
we've
had
in
a
couple
of
years,
so
I
was
a
little
nervous
at
the
beginning
of
the
summer,
because
honestly,
we've
had
candidates
turn
us
down
about
coming
to
charleston
in
general
because
of
the
coven
19
numbers,
which
we
did
expect
so
we're
feeling
good
about
vacancies
across
the
board,
and
I
was
very
pleased
to
see
where
district
9
sits
on
vacancies.
F
The
other
piece
I
will
tell
you
is,
I
have
personally
been
trying
to
talk
to
all
employees,
especially
and
not
say
especially
teachers,
but
making
sure
I
understand
teachers
needs
about
returning
to
the
classroom
when
that
time
is
appropriate
or
working
remotely.
So
I
I
feel
like
when
we
are
able
to
return.
We
have
teachers
who
I
know
that
are
very
committed
to
that.
So
I
think
that's
a
real
positive.
F
That's
what
I've
got
I
I
know
you
all
know
the
upcoming
board
meetings,
but
I
usually
remind
you
of
that.
This
monday
we
have
the
august
august
24th
it's
a
board
meeting
and
obviously
there
will
be
a
vote
based
on
the
hopefully
the
new
board
member
for
district.
Nine
and
the
committee
of
the
whole
is
first
in
september
the
14th.
A
F
So
there's
a
couple
things
going
on,
dr
simmons.
I
think
that's
you
asking
the
question,
so
you
have,
depending
on
the
school's
ability
or
their
capacity,
to
bring
some
students
back
in
person,
and
that
is
of
course
dependent
on
the
coveted
19
rates
and
where
we
are
as
a
community
as
they
continue
to
decrease.
F
If
we
have
families
that
want
to
bring
want
students
back
in
person
and
we
have
staff,
we
have
teachers
who
are
willing
and
able
to
teach
in
person.
There
could
be
a
a
group
of
students
depending
on
the
capacity
of
the
building,
not
every
student
necessarily
and
then
we
we
could
have
other
students
in
that
building
learning
remotely
with
teachers,
teaching
that
are
part
of
that
faculty.
F
D
F
F
I
would
have
to
confirm
what
grade
it
goes
down
to.
I'll
be
honest,
I'm
not
100
sure
I
can
check
with
mrs
simmons.
D
A
F
Do
you
mean
just.
F
State
county
state
test,
so
I'm
gonna
be
honest,
I'm
not
on
the
academic
side.
So
I'll
toshiba,
that's
another
question
we
can.
We
can
get
an
answer
to
I'm
staying
in
my
lane
on
the
hr
side,
but.
A
D
D
C
Toshiba,
ms
smith,
that
that
information
will
be
shared
with
the
board
members
I'll,
send
that
information
I'll
email
that
information
out
to
you.
