News and notes, as we get ready for the start of this school year, we realize we need to provide you with important.

A

Information related to the safe restart plan and the physical opening of our schools. When.

A

Conditions related to the kova 19 pandemic. Allow.

A

For a safe return to our schools, this video will highlight.

A

Bus transportation, as well as student arrival on campus.

A

The setup of our classrooms, how meals will be served.

A

The cleaning and sanitizing of our schools and the critical roles.

A

Our nurses will play in the day-to-day operations of our schools.

Let's go to our chief operating officer, jeff beroe,.

Jeff, thank you andy and hello. Everyone I'd like to open by telling you that.

B

Charleston county school district has not been on our own on this journey.

B

To get ready for school this year, medical professionals.

B

At the south carolina department of health and environmental control.

B

And the medical university of south carolina have been with us every step of.

B

B

So, let's start with our buses, we have high expectations.

B

For the quality of our transportation service this year, with hundreds of new.

B

Buses and the necessary number of trained drivers to transport our students to and from school safely, among the changes.

B

This year will be the need for bus passes to ensure that we can transport all of our signed up students within the covid protocols. This will limit the number of students on a bus to.

B

Somewhere between one half and two-thirds of the normal capacity, we will fill from the back of the bus.

B

First and disembark in the opposite manner, the bus driver and all passengers will wear masks at all times.

B

If a child does not have a mask when boarding the driver will provide one.

B

Buses will be disinfected at midday and in the evening.

B

All students arriving on campus will need to wear masks.

B

This includes walkers, bikers and car riders to assist with social distancing.

B

Parents will need to drop off their children at the designated areas as.

B

We'll not be allowing visitors, including parents, beyond the front office of the.

B

Building like traveling on the roads, we expect everyone to walk on the right side, where possible, we'll try to make some of.

B

The walkways one way we will have reminder signage for social.

B

Distancing at key locations in the school.

B

Upon arrival, we will expect students to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer.

B

We have installed wall mounted dispensers at key locations in our schools and will ensure hand. Sanitizer is available in all classrooms. As you can see, we are installing.

Plexiglass dividers to provide additional social distancing between.

B

Students we'll continue to monitor guidance from the center for disease.

B

Control and south carolina dhec for the need to wear masks when achieving six foot social distancing or having these dividers. One of the questions that commonly comes up.

Is the movement of students and faculty we'll certainly be working to minimize.

B

That movement throughout the school day, but it'll vary school by school.

We know that nutritious school meals are vital to a productive day in our.

B

Classroom as well I'll now turn to joe pettit from nutrition services to talk about the plan in our cafeterias.

Our goal is not only to feed the students, but our number one priority as.

Always is to make sure that food safety and student safety is at the top of what we do in nutrition services. We.

Are excited to welcome students back to campus.

C

We're doing everything possible to assure that safety is top priority.

C

From our employees and delivery drivers at the back door.

C

Having their temperatures taken wearing, face, mask and always practicing social.

C

Distancing in the cafeteria and in the kitchen, we believe that safety will be at the front of all that we do.

C

When students walk in all serving lines will be disinfected.

C

With an epa approved, germicide disinfectant spray.

C

Students will enter at a sanitation station where they will have hand.

C

Sanitizer, our nutritious meals will be prepared.

C

And placed in syllable containers the students will move through, they will.

C

Pick the items up without any hand-to-hand direct contact with.

C

Nutrition services team members at the cashier stand.

C

Students will either call their name scan their badge or.

C

The cashier will use a tally sheet to ensure that there is a contactless.

C

Payment at every school after students go through and each class is finished.

C

All of our nutrition services team members will then.

C

Again, wipe the serving lines, all contact services with a germicide disinfectant.

C

We want to assure that students will move through the line quickly.

C

And safely, to assure that they receive nutritious meals in all that we do.

C

We can't wait to welcome your students back and we are excited for school to.

Launch again, and to continue serving great meals, as we have always been committed to doing.

We are stepping up our cleaning and disinfection in our schools in response.

B

To covet as well we'll be disinfecting all bathrooms during the day, in addition to the nighttime cleaning at least once per week, all space in the school be fogged with a disinfecting.

B

Hydrogen peroxide solution: we are also receiving questions about air quality.

B

Although nationwide air quality may be a concern in schools, I'm very.

B

Confident in our systems, first, during the summer we inspected all of our fresh.

B

Air systems and ensuring that they are fully operational, fresh air systems continuously replace air in schools.

B

By taking outside air conditioning it, making it cooler and pumping it into our.

B

Schools, while taking other air out we'll be turning this system on even.

B

Earlier than we normally do as well, additionally, we'll ensure that all.

B

Systems have the maximum capable filter allowed by the manufacturer on all of.

B

Our systems, as always nurses, will play an integral.

B

Role in our school operations, first, every school will have at least.

B

One nurse on all school days, each school will have a special air.

B

Conditioned unit in its clinic in an area or room for isolation in the event.

B

Of a confirmed co-fit case with a teacher or student, a nurse who.

B

Has been trained in contact tracing will immediately investigate determine if anybody else needs to be quarantined. They'll also be able to.
