From YouTube: Teach Local Signing Day Ceremony - May 14, 2021
Description
Four Charleston County School District (CCSD) students participated in a “signing day” to celebrate their commitment to work in the district when they graduate college in the near future.
These four students, Lillian Avery, Aaron Booth, Ivy Grinnage, and Tina Robinson, are all graduating seniors from Early College High School, and part of the CCSD’s Teach Local program, which provides high school students with training to become an educator and support to attend a college and earn a degree in education.

From
my
perspective,
I'm
so
excited
about
our
future.
Our
our
students
have
so
much
promise
they've.
They
have
faced
challenge
after
challenge.
Obviously
you
know
the
pandemic
happened
in
their
junior
year,
but
but
to
come
to
a
school
that
was
just
opening
when
they
were
freshmen,
they
persevered
through.
Many
of
them
I
mean
98
of
our
graduating
seniors,
have
more
than
20
college
credits,
which
is
remarkable
so
to
face
deadlines
in
college
classes
and
and
the
reading
loads
in
college
classes
and
papers
and
and
everything
that
comes
with
attending
college
classes.
D
I
already
graduated
with
my
associates
from
early
college
high
school,
so
having
my
associates
kind
of
gives
me,
the
heads
up
for
what
college
classes
are
like
and
also
being
in,
the
teacher
cadet
program
has
helped
me
see
what
being
a
teacher
means
and
the
kind
of
things
that
teachers
and
the
kind
of
skills
that
teachers
need.
I.
E
Really
went
back
and
forth
a
lot
with
what
career
choice
to
pick,
and
I
always
wanted
to
do
something
where
I
was
helping
people,
whether
that
was
you
know,
children,
adults,
anyone
and
I
think,
after
being
in
the
teacher
cadet
program.
I
learned
a
lot
more
about
children
in
education
and
it
made
me
want
to
be
able
to
teach
well.
