We
are
working
our
way
through
the
the
various
topics
and
different
things
that
are
happening
in
each
of
the
districts.

to
have
you,
obviously
you
were
one
of
our
first
guests
when
we
launched
a
podcast
a
while
back.
So
it's
been
a
while
a
lot.
A
lot
of
stuff
has
happened
in
the
county
since,
since
we
last
had
you
on
before
we
get
to
some
specifics
in
Dale
and
get
some
updates
on
some
very
important
projects
there,
and,
and
certainly
a
lot
of
things
that
folks
are
very
interested
in
I-
want
to
kind
of
get
your
point
of
view
on
a
couple
of
kind
of
county-wide
things.

Let's
start
with
economic
development,
as
I
said,
you
were
one
of
the
the
first
guests
that
we
had
on
the
show.
If
you
had
told
us
that
day,
the
Lego
was
coming,
I
mean,
maybe
maybe
you
knew
I,
don't
know,
but
I
I
think
that
you
know
that
news,
certainly,
and
certainly
all,
of
the
different
things
that
happened.

You
know
in
Economic
Development
in
2022,
if
you
for
folks
who
you
know
want
to
walk
through
that,
we
we
did
an
episode
with
Garrett,
who
is
the
head
of
economic
development
for
Chesterfield
in
on
episode
34.,
but
Mr
Holland.
What
kind
of
gets
your
thoughts
in
terms
of
Lego
all
the
different
announcements
from
an
economic
development
standpoint
in
2022?

That's
a
big
impact
on
us
economically.
As
you
know,
we
have
worked
very
diligently
over
the
last
several
years
to
bring
Economic
Development
to
Chesterfield
County,
our
small
business,
which
is
a
backbone
of
our
economy,
but
having
Legos
enhances
even
that.
So
it's
been
a
huge
win
for
the
county.
It's
been
great
also
for
Deo
District,
because
ma'am
the
workers
will
come
from
the
district
and
the
other
districts
as
well.
In
addition,
it's
going
to
be
a
major
impact
for
I,
have
a
major
impact
for
our
schools.
Yeah.

Our
children
and
really
one
of
the
things
that
was
very
impressive
for
me,
was
their
impact
on
the
climate
yeah
carbon
neutral,
yeah,
everything
about
their
project,
the
building
the
grounds
around
it
right
will
impact,
of
course,
climate
impact,
and
so
that's
been
very
significant
here
in
Chesterfield
County.
Something
I've
been
really
committed
to,
because
my
constituents
are
certainly
committed
to
is
having
an
impact
on
the
climate
and
making
sure
that
we're
carbon
neutral.
We
have
set
goals
even
to
2030.
In
regards
to
that.

The
thing
works
between
schools
and
the
county,
I
kind
of
want
to
talk
a
little
bit
about
sort
of
the
the
way
that
the
budget
sort
of
turned
out
sort
of
your
thoughts
on
not
just
the
the
budget
overall,
but
specifically
the
the
impact
and
the
importance
of
working
with
the
schools.
Closing
that
that
funding
Gap
that
we,
you
know
we're
still
all
waiting
for
the
general
assembly
to
to
do
its
work
and
to
come
back
with
its
budget,
but
it
it
certainly
seems
like
from
the
outside.

that
Gap,
and
certainly
that
the
county
working
with
the
schools
was
seems
to
be
an
important
part,
especially
for
for
you,
in
in
terms
of
being
a
board
member.
Just
give
me
some
thoughts
on
on
on
that
relationship
with
the
schools
and
and
why
it
was
so
important
for
the
county
to
work
with
the
schools
on
on
that
issue.

We
communicate
and
we
coordinate
and
that's
what
we've
been
doing
over
the
years
and,
for
example,
just
a
couple
of
years
ago
we
started
meeting
this
chair
and
vice
chair.
We
started
working
with
our
school
board
member
with
the
superintendent,
and
you
know
we
have
an
outstanding
budget,
Department
staff.
We
have
just
outstanding
people
in
Chesterfield,
I
always
say
no
one.
Does
it
better?
In
fact,
people
look
at
us
as
Leaders
as
it
relates
to
budgeting
and
having
a
balanced
budget
right
and
being
a
triple
A
County,
which
impacts
our
schools
in
a
significant
way.

As
you
know,
we
just
had
the
blind
referendum
pass
last
year:
375
million
dollars
just
for
schools
right
and
we're
having
a
triple
A
means.
We
have
lower
cost
of
borrowing
right
to
build
those
new
schools
and
so
I'm
excited
about
that.
But
the
critical
part
of
this
is
working
together
with
them
to
meet
that
funding.
Gap
right,
so
the
county
has
exceeded
what
it
expected
to
invest
with
school.
So
we
have
helped
to
close
that
Gap.
We
will
ensure
that
that
Gap
is
closed.
Once
we
hear
from
the
general
assembling
the
governor.

Right
now,
speaking
of
schools
along
those
same
lines,
one
of
the
things
I
know
for
Dale.
Specifically,
you
know
there
was
a
lot
of
of
of
interest
and
certainly
a
lot
of
work
that
went
into
sort
of
figuring
out,
not
just
for
the
bond
referendum
piece
and
where
you
know
where
the
different
parts
of
infrastructure
that
need
to
be
added.
What
what
things
need
to
be
addressed,
what
what
buildings
need
to
be
replaced?
A
But
then,
even
before
that
you
know
with
Fallen
Creek
and
getting
a
new
Elementary
School
in
Dale,
the
county
was
able
to
kind
of
use
some
savings
from
some
other
places
and
get
those
projects
going.
Falling,
Creek
Middle,
you
know
looking
to
open
in
August
the
new
Elementary
School
projected
to
be
in
August
of
2026.
How
excited
are
you
at
the
prospect
of
being
able
to
open
those
two
facilities
in
the
next
couple
of
years
and
to
and
the
impact
that
it'll
have
on
the
students
in
Dale.

Our
children
and
and
along
those
same
lines
you
talk
about
new
facilities.
Yes,
you
know
the
old
Buell
Elementary
School
to
be
able
to
modernize.
You
know
when
we
were
here
the
first
time
you
know
we
talked
about
sort
of.
You
know
that
thing
is
90
something
years
old.
You
know
45
000
square
feet,
I,
think
in
terms
of
the
existing
infrastructure,
so
you're
going
to
be
able
to
keep
the
gym,
keep
the
cab
Auditorium
have
a
larger.
A
You
know
retrofitted
multi-purpose
room
classrooms,
bulk
meeting
space,
to
be
able
to
to
put
that
money
into
a
project
I
believe
opening
in
in
July
of
this
year
to
have
that
new
recreation
center
of
Beulah.
What
does
that
mean
for
the
community
and
and
certainly
not
just
for
the
entire
District,
but
certainly
like
the
folks
that
are
right
there
to
have
this
type
of
facility
and
be
able
to
use
something
with
so
much
tradition
and
so
much
Heritage
in
that
location,
Brad.

To
be
the
largest,
the
Beulah
recreational
Sun
is
going
to
be
the
largest
one
in
Chesterfield
County.
In
addition,
as
you
pointed
out,
certainly
the
meeting
rooms,
the
cafeteria
there,
the
gym
that
will
be
used
by
the
community,
a
meeting
place
right
in
spaces
for
the
citizens
and
40
neighborhoods
associations
to
meet
in.
So
it's
going
to
be
a
huge
game.
Changer
for
that
area.
Right
and
again,
as
I
mentioned,
it's
going
to
be
the
largest
in
Chesterfield.

In
that
regard,
but
I'm
very
excited
about
that
Center.
In
addition
to
that,
we're
going
to
also
improve
the
qriket
field,
okay
with
world
class
Cricket
field,
and
we
have
a
lot
of
systems
in
the
region
who
play
cricket
okay,
and
so
we
learned
about
that
just
a
while
back
we
met
over
there
in
fact,
look
at
this
field,
okay,
and
so
we're
looking
at
improving
and
enhancing
what
we
already
have.

County
yeah
absolutely
because-
and-
and
you
know,
one
of
the
great
things
too
is
that
it's
going
to
be
the
I
think
that's
still
the
plan
right
for
the
the
admin
for
parks
and
rec
to
be
located
there,
so
that
sort
of
helps
as
well
speaking
of
other
things
in
Dale,
an
update
on
Courthouse
Landing.
So
when
you
were
here
the
first
time,
I
I
think
this
Opera,
you
know
the
chance
to
have
this
type
of
mixed
use.

Development
in
Dale
is
such
a
huge
opportunity
because
there's
not
a
whole
lot
of
stuff
in
like
this
right,
and
that
was
one
of
the
things
we
talked
about
before.
You
know
the
idea
that
Courthouse
Landing
for
folks
who
aren't
aware
intersectional
courthouse
in
Ironbridge,
talking,
124
Acres,
I,
think
of
of
space
you're
talking
290
million
dollars
in
investment
coming
to
Dale,
I.
Think
in
the
end,
the
idea
is
that
it
would
generate
like
three
and
a
half
million
dollars
of
tax
revenue.

It's
500
600
jobs,
at
least
at
the
time
when
we
did
that
first
episode,
the
idea
of
bringing
something
with
mixed
use,
you're
going
to
get
a
you
know
a
120
room
Hotel.
You
know
260
some
thousand
square
feet
of
retail
100
000
square
feet
of
office.
What
does
it
mean?
You
know,
businesses,
restaurants,
that
kind
of
thing.
How
excited
are
you
about
this?
You
know
coming
to
Dale.

Long
saw
it
has
been
years
and
we've
been
working
on
this
diligently,
and
this
will
impact
the
entire
County
in
terms
of
the
account
administration
at
our
schools.
All
those
in
the
air
will
be
impacted
by
this
I'm
excited
about
also
the
world-class
medical
facility,
VCU
yep.
In
addition,
just
yesterday,
I
learned
that
HCA
is
bringing
a
on
an
office
a
complex
here
as
well-
that's
great
on
Ambridge
Road
nearby
here.
So
it's
going
to
be
a
huge
impact
on
this
Economic
Development.
It's
certainly
needed
in
the
area.

Those
of
us
who,
who
drive
that
you
know,
are
pretty
pretty
excited
about
that
project
being
done.
What
does
it
mean
for
transportation
in
Dale
to
have
those
kinds
of
projects
not
just
in
the
pipeline,
but
you
know
for
in
terms
of
the
route
10
widening
you
know
actually
coming
to
fruition.
What's
it?
What
do
you
feel
like
that
means
for
transportation?
Here
great.

Importantly
safely,
and
so
what
was
Croco
about
this
is
that
we
did
the
infrastructure
prior
to
the
project
project,
as
you
mentioned,
Courthouse
Landing
yeah.
So
we
wanted
to
start
with
infrastructure
many
times
there
was
complaints
years
ago
about
not
having
the
infrastructure
in
place
before
we
began
right.
So
in
this
case
it's
the
opposite.
We
have
the
infrastructure,
we're
moving
it
in
place.
The
roads
are
looking
wonderful,
I
can
see
the
end
I.

And
then
some
like
I
said
as
somebody
who
drives
that
all
the
time
I'm
very
excited
about
that
going
to
come
into
fruition.
Speaking
of
different
sort
of
improvements.
Obviously
you
know:
we've
talked
about
schools,
we
we've
talked
about
roads,
but
then
there's
also
parks.
There
are
a
couple
of
Park
projects.
I
know
that
are
near
and
dear
to
folks.
In
the
Dale
District
you
got
the
cogwell
park,
which
is
a
construction
beginning,
I
think
this
fall
completion
next
year
and
then
there's
one
at
thick
with
I.
A
A
B
That's
why
I'm
so
excited
about
the
cogbill
park
coming
online,
that
those
neighborhoods
in
that
area
have
been
asking
for
it
for
years
yeah
and
it's
about
to
come
to
fruition.
It
is
a
wonderful
thing
and
that's
the
one
thing
we've
done
in
the
Dale
District
I
must
say:
we've
improved
all
our
Parks
I
am
Bridge
Park,
the
fickle
Park,
as
you
mentioned,
11.3
acre
parcel
has
been
significant.
So
what
we're
doing
is
we're
really
making
a
difference
throughout
the
county
and
certainly
throughout
Dale
with
regard
to
Parks,
such
as
connectors
to
park.

And
the
opportunity
to
get
out
and
do
something
and,
like
you
said,
listening
to
that
feedback,
that
was
a
a
focal
point.
We
just
had
that
community
meeting
at
Ridgedale
to
talk
about
the
special
Focus
plan
there
to
there's
I
know
there's
one
in
Rockwood
as
well
as
we
wrap
up
here
these
these
special
area
plans.
It
sounds
like
the
way
that
at
least
it
seems
like-
and
you
can
sort
of
correct
me
if
I'm
wrong
here,
but
it
feels
like
that
the
way
the
county
uses.

This
is
an
opportunity
to
sort
of
get
that
feedback
about
what
folks
do
and
don't
want
in
these
specific
areas
how
the
county
should
or
shouldn't
sort
of
move
forward
in
these
specific
areas.
Why
is
it
really
crucial
in
your
opinion,
for
the
county
to
do
that
work?
You
know
whether
it's
Ridgedale
Rock,
wherever
that
special
focus
is.
Why
do
you
feel
like
it's
so
important
for
the
county
to
to
get
that
that
background,
that
feedback
on
these
on
these
locations
before
they
sort
of
break
ground
on
a
plan
going
forward?
They.

Citizens
and
from
Those,
whom
we
interface
with,
sometimes
we
don't
often
get
that
impact,
but
getting
out
with
our
special
error
plan.
So
I
want
to
applaud
my
planning,
commissioner
and
commission,
for
working
this
up
and
for
allowing
me
to
be
a
part
of
it
as
well,
because
it's
critical
important
that
we
again
listen
and
we
take
the
input
as
we
envision.
What
will
be
coming.
Yeah
and
they're
part
of
it
and
I
find
that
to
be
so
successful.
And
what
we
do
is
that
we
don't
go
alone.

District,
and
certainly
for
the
folks
who
live
there
as
we
wrap
up
I'm
just
curious
in
terms
of
kind
of
the
big
picture
you
know.
What's
it
feel
like
to
to
have
so
much
sort
of
in
that
pipeline,
so
many
different
things
cooking,
you
know
it
feels
like
everything
is,
is
kind
of
moving
and
there's
lots
of
stuff.
You
know
for
folks
to
be
looking
forward
to
what's
that.
What's
that
feel
like
as
the
as
a
supervisor,
there.

a

Corporation

their
mentorship

divorce
National
Honor
Society
at
Meadowbrook,
High
School,
where
I
was
just
a
few
days
ago
to
culminate

celebrate

contributions

scholarships
for
our
young
people
at
Meadowbrook,
High
School,

we
excite
I'm
excited
and
the
citizens
are
excited
about
what
where
we
are,
but,
more
importantly,
where
we're
going.
