Director of Parks and Recreation Neil Luther provided the Board of Supervisors an update on programs, successes and planned initiatives.

This work session served as an introduction of the county's Executive Director of Sports, Visitation and Entertainment, JC Poma. During the session, Mr. Poma briefly discussed his background, the county's approach to tourism development and why it is important to Chesterfield's overall financial ecosystem.

Katherine O'Donnell from Richmond Region Tourism provided an update to the Board of Supervisors on the status of the Tourism Improvement District initiative in Chesterfield County.

Segment (2/3) Environmental Engineering provided the Board with an update on various environmental stewardship topics that include reservoir update, RPA projects, tree canopy ordinance and anti-litter/ beautification efforts.

Segment (3/3) FOLAR Trails provided the Board with an update on various environmental stewardship topics that conserve, protect, and promote the Appomattox River for all to enjoy.

Chesterfield County, Virginia is requesting a bond referendum (election) for Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022. A bond referendum is a vital component of the local democratic process in which citizens vote on the financing of the county’s long range capital plan. This brief work session was presented to kick off the 2022 referendum campaign. Deputy County Administrator for Finance and Administration Matt Harris present an overview of the effort to include the projects selected, the financing mechanics, a summary of the public information campaign and a schedule with key dates through November.

At Wednesday's Board of Supervisors meeting, Park Manager Nate Clark provided the Board with a Pocahontas State Park Annual Update.
