week

to
tell
you
about
some
of
the
things
that
are
happening
in
your
community
for
the
week
of
August
the
28th
before
we
get
started.
Remember
this
is
your
last
chance
this
week
to
get
to
the
Chesterfield
County
Fair.
It
runs
through
this
Saturday
September,
the
2nd
so
make
sure
you
get
your
tickets
come
on
out
to
the
fairgrounds
to
catch
the
fun
check
their
website
for
more
information.

Now
registration
is
open
for
this
year's
fire
and
EMS
Citizens
Academy.
This
nine-week
program
will
include
hands-on
experience
where
you'll
get
an
in-depth
and
upfront
view
of
what
makes
your
fire
and
EMS
department
and
all
hazards
organization.
The
first
session
is
September
the
26th
so
sign
up
today.
Speaking
of
things,
you
can
do
right
now.
Parks
and
Recreation
needs
your
help.
They
need
your
input
to
help
determine
the
future
needs
and
resources
in
the
county.

During
this
event,
the
Parkinson
Center
will
be
collecting
items
in
support
of
the
Chesterfield
Food
Bank
Outreach
Center,
so
non-perished
food
items
can
be
dropped
off
at
the
display
in
the
lobby.
Please
consider
bringing
a
few
items
during
the
scheduled
event.
The
concert
starts
at
six
on
Saturday
how
about
heading
over
to
the
Pratt
Library
from
two
to
three
for
adults,
read
young,
which
is
a
young
adult
book
club
for
adults.
Just
because
you
aren't
a
teen
anymore
doesn't
mean
you
can't
read
like
one.

This
group
will
delve
into
a
range
of
young
adult
materials
covering
various
genres.
Registration
is
required
and
on
Sunday,
the
Greater
Richmond
Sailing
Association
will
be
holding
a
Labor
Day
Regatta
and
social
in
Midlothian
come
on
out
for
the
races,
the
good
food
and
the
good
people.
The
event
runs
all
day
long.
Lastly,
just
a
reminder:
the
county
offices
will
be
closed
on
Monday
September,
the
4th
in
observance
of
Labor
Day
and,
as
always,
we're
accepting
your
kindness
campaign
submissions
anytime.
