of

u-lock

these

folks

are
incredibly
well
organized.

have

mobilized,

pretty
comprehensive

bikes

getting
returned

started
planning
with

hospitality
industry
to
accommodate.

and
250
000
people,
descending
onto
Indian,
County,
so
Holly
and
Alana,
and
a
few
others
are
working
on
some
kind
of
low
impact,
low-cost,
Municipal,
complementary
programming,
as
well
as
starting
to
engage
Public
Safety
and
what
could
be
a
really
big
event.
So
your
way
but
more
to
come,
I
think
it's
going
to
be
pretty
impactful
healing.

purchased
1270
Williston
Road.
That's
the
former
travel
agency
that
we
will
be
demolishing
to
realign

intersection
of
Garden
Street
of
the
fire
department

new
recruits
have
been
using
that
building
for
trainings.
It's
really
actually
very
helpful
to
have
a
vacant
building
to
use
for
training.
So
if
folks
see
a
lot
of
fire
activity,

apparatus
activity
around
there
we're
just
training
work
on
the
Dorset
Street
signal
project
has
begun
it.

Library
Foundation
presented
their
final,
fifty
thousand
dollar
payment
to
the
city
for
their
Aspire
Capital
campaign
that
they
did
to
raise
money
for

construction
of

new
library.

huge
milestone
in
total.
They
raised
418
thousand
dollars
for
the
construction
of
that
of
this
building
and
then
with
other
funds
that
have
previously
been
given
it
pops
out
at
almost
a
million
dollars,
so
huge
work
by
the
library
foundation
and
others,
and
we
are
very
grateful
for
that.

and
Zoning
director,
hey.
I

Tonight,
as
a
chair
really
said,
there
are
two
amendments:
ldr
2301,
installation
of
solar
voltaic
systems
for
commercial
buildings,
new
commercial
buildings
and
ldr
2302,
which
is
just
some
minor
cleanups
of
numbering
and
organization
in
the
ldr.
I'll,
give
a
super
quick
overview
of
the
solar
photovoltaic
one
and
then
happy
to
answer
any
questions,
and
our
recommended
hearing
date
is
your
first
meeting
in
June.
I
I
It
does
not
say
that
they
need
to
be
connected
to
the
grid.
That
is
the
choice
of
the
of
the
property
owner.
It's
also
not
our
authority
to
require
somebody
to
connect
to
a
public
grid,
because
that's
the
Public
Utilities
Commission,
so
I
just
wanted
to
be
clear
on
that,
and
there
are
some
Tools
in
here
to
make
sure
that
the
energy
being
produced
does
not
exceed
what
the
capacity
of
the
building
or
the
system
is.
I
I
Planning
Commission
had
some
discussion
about
what
it
would
mean
to
maximize
the
use
of
a
solar
ready
Zone.
They
talked
about
an
energy
output
figure.
They
ultimately
landed
on
something
that
they
felt
was
a
lot
more
straightforward
for
folks,
which
is
a
physical
area
standard,
so
you'll
see
in
there.
It
describes
it
as
being
a
solar
PV
system
designed
to
maximize
the
use
of
the
area
of
the
solar,
ready,
Zone,
employing
typical
panel
configurations.
I
So,
instead
of
having
to
sort
of
say
the
latest
technology
that
might
exist
which
could
be
evolving
and
would
involve
a
very
technical
review,
they
felt
that
the
using
standard
panel
configurations
would
be
a
simple
straightforward
way
of
reviewing
it
and,
as
the
technology
changes
to
what
those
are,
then
people
can
do
smaller
units.
So
that's
really
what
this
is.
It
was
passed
unanimously
by
the
Planning
Commission
recommendation
from
them
to
you
is
to
warn
a
public
hearing
for
your
meeting
in
your
first
meeting
in
June.

The
minimum
is
essentially
to
maximize
the
physical
use
of
the
area
of
the
of
the
solar
ready
zone,
so
a
solar
ready,
Zone
under
the
commercial
building
energy
code
must
include
I
believe
it's
at
least
40
percent
of
your
total
roof
area.
In
a
way
that
is
configured
to
be
sort
of
logical
that
it's
not
sort
of
a
serpentine
piece.
So
here
it
says
that
you
must
maximize
the
use
of
that
40
percent
that
becomes
your
minimum.

least
that
they
could
put
in
is
the
nearest
to
the
standard
is
40
of
the
roof
right
under
the
commercial
building
energy
code.
It
would
be
as
getting
as
close
to
possible
of
covering
that
entire
40
percent

their
maximum
obligation
is
that
they
don't
have
to
do
anything
that
exceeds
what
they're
building
is
estimated
to

choose

in
the
cbes
as
to
how
much

do

We
took
that
that
piece
that
was
something
the
commission
wanted
to
do
was
to
create
a
definition
of
wealth.

So,
if
you're
doing
ground
mounted
solar,
how
much
so
the
commission
developed
our
own
standard
for
that,
which
this
is
say,
the
amount,
if
you
did
it
on
the
ground,
would
need
to
be
equivalent,
as
if
you
had
to
do
it
on
your
roof,
good
yeah.
But
yes,
absolutely
you
could
do
it
by
ground,
Mount
solar!
You
could
do
it
by
geothermal
heat
pumps,
there's
different
ways
that
you
could
achieve
it
as
long
as
it's
renewable
energy.

Other
means
not
exactly
so
that
there's
a
really
detailed
definition
in
the
commercial
building
energy
standards
that
I'd
be
happy
to
provide
as
part
of
the
public
hearing,
but
it
does
speak
about
if
it's
a
non-flat,
if
it's

flat
roof
building,
then
the
orientation
doesn't
really
matter.
It
doesn't
matter
right.
If
there's
a
pitched
Roof,
then
it
talks
about
the
proportion
of
the
building
that
is
facing
X
degrees
to
X
degrees
in
terms
of
sort
of
east
south
west,
and
that
a
certain
proportion
of
that
needs
to
be
capable
of
handling
solar.
I
So
it
doesn't
say
that
your
north
side
of
your
building
needs
to
be
handling
solar
because
that's
not
where
the
sun
comes
from.
So
it
does
account
for
that.
Okay
and
if,
if
and
that's
that's
embedded
in
the
definition
of
what
is
a
solar
ready,
Zone
and
this
standard
only
says
you
have
to
put
solar
in
your
solar
ready,
Zone,
that's.
I
Well,
the
solar
ready
Zone
itself
is
on
a
flat
roof
building
40
of
the
building
so
yeah
our
standard
is
you
have
to
put
solar
in
the
Solar
ready
Zone
in
a
pitched
roof?
Building
the
it's
not
exactly
40,
it's
it's
a
slightly
lesser
number,
based
on
how
much
is
actually
oriented
towards
the
Sun.
So
if
the
building
it's
not
making
you
do
more
than
what
the
building
could
do.
I
The
parallel
component
in
our
regulations
is
that
our
new
subdivision
regulations
last
year
did
encourage
lot
layout
that,
as
best
as
possible,
gives
the
opportunity
for
a
building
to
be
oriented
in
a
way
to
optimize,
Norse.
Obviously,
there's
a
lot
of
pre-existing
sites
in
the
city,
not
every
single
one
of
them
is
going
to
be
able
to
optimize
a
building
that
is
going
to
its
Southern
orientation,
but
it
the
cbes
definition
accounts
for
all
of
that
got
it.

somebody

not
capable
or
we're
choosing
not
to
do
a
rooftop
one,
but
we're
going
to
do
an
equivalent
and
instead
of
doing
it
in
three
places
around
we're
going
to
do
one
big
one
that
covers
the
parking
lot
that
serves
all
three
of
these
buildings.

metering
and

for
this
Co-op
how
it
would
you.

buildings

they
had

sets
of
solar,
but
they,

installed

percent
of

they

needed

paid

fund
and

to
any

we're
already

distributed

the
Summit
Properties,
how
it
got
really
fired
up
about
the
fact
that
there

no
solar
in
that
building,
it's
a
four-story
residential
building
and
they're

split
systems

heat
pumps
that
heat
and
cool
all
those
apartments,
and
not
one
Speck
of
solar
on
that
property.
This
will
fix
that,
hopefully
right
for
all
future
construction.

hundred
percent.

million

thousand
eight
hundred
dollars
remaining
and
on
our
allocated
arpa
funds.

until
December
2024
to
allocate
those
dollars

2026

spend

the
federal
government
as
lost
Revenue
missing
Revenue.
These
dollars
can
be
used
for
any
Municipal
purpose,
so
anything
that
we
otherwise
normally
would

course

things,

intent
tonight
you've
had.

has
had
several
conversations

the
last
year

half
about
this.

city-wide
survey.

from

Committees
on
their
recommendations.

additional
information
about
leveraging
these
funds
with
other
grants
and
there's
a
one
specific
opportunity
that
we
identified,
or
the
bike
and
ped
committee
identified
with
staff
around
the
Hinesburg
road
path.
That
is
that
you
could
consider
really.

intention
from
for
tonight
is
not
that
you
necessarily
make
decisions,
although
you
could
is
really
to
hear
what
the
five
of
you
the
process,
the
five
of
you
would
like
to
use
to
get
to
a
decision
or
a
series
of
decisions

coming
months
and
years
and
ensure
that
staff
is
bringing
you
back.
The
information
you
need
to
make
those
final
decisions

everything

advocated

we
might
like

so

it

thinking

up

million

dollars

we're
going

caveat

administration
