The April 13 ONE Community Dinner honors Janet Carscadden, who passed away last month. Her loss leaves a big hole in our hearts and the community. We celebrate her life and the joy and nourishment she brought to all of us with one of her favorite community dinner dishes: Risotto cakes.

Hi I'm Jess I live over on North, Champlain, Street, just a block or so away, and welcome to the old North End Community dinner. We had a great crowd tonight, uh probably I, don't know I'm close to 80 80 90 people. What you're, looking at here in the kitchen, is at our amazing team of volunteers who cooked up a delicious feast to share with the community. So all the people you see in the kitchen are all volunteers.

Most of them come from the old north end, but some of them come from different parts of the city and once a month on the second Thursday of the month, we put together a delicious vegetarian, mostly vegan, mostly gluten-free meal, and we do that with the with the help of about 12 or 20 volunteers depending on the month.

So there have been folks here all day that there have been folks here all day, cutting vegetables, um cooking food, and then we have another group that comes in to serve and another group that does dishes, and this amazing dinner couldn't happen. Without all these wonderful volunteers, a lot of the food gets donated. We get donations from Intervale, Community farm from Digger's mirth and from City Market, and also from Mascoma bank and so putting together.

These these meals is a huge effort and it takes a whole Community, a community of of farmers, a community of volunteers and cooks and a community of eaters and we're so grateful every month that we can have such a great group of people together to share a meal to share conversation and connect with each other.
