A
A
Good
afternoon
everybody,
my
name
is
Chris
committed
on
the
library
services
manager
here
at
the
Carnegie
Library
Pittsburgh
East,
Liberty
Bridge,
and
welcome
to
the
library
what
a
great
day
we're
having
here
at
the
summer.
Job
fair
everybody
get
yourselves
a
hand,
employers
to
the
assembly.
You
deserve
it.
A
B
B
This
initiative
is
really
close
to
the
work
that
agile
in
Pittsburgh
Public
Schools
at
the
career
technical
education
director
in
preparing
our
students
for
work.
So
it's
really
close
to
my
heart.
We
understand
the
benefits
of
work
experience
in
whatever
survivor
students
such
as
communication,
you
also
provide
them
with
our
skills,
is
also.
B
A
Like
to
take
this
time
to
thank
the
blue
pill,
Garfield
corporation
NeighborWorks,
East,
Side,
neighborhood,
employment,
center,
neighborhood,
Learning,
Alliance
Pittsburgh
be
release
and
all
the
employers
and
attendance
here
at
the
library
we
have
a
commitment
to
providing
area
teens
with
innovative
and
enriching
programs
that
will
build
the
skills
necessary
to
enter
higher
education
and
the
workforce.
The
Pittsburgh
learn
and
earn
program
shares
that
outlook.
It
matches
up
teens
with
a
variety
of
employers
in
order
to
gain
valuable
experiences.
A
In
many
settings,
we've
had
the
occasion
to
host
some
youth
employment
program
students
here
each
summer
that
we've
been
open
and
we
found
them
all
to
be
tremendous
workers
who
really
become
a
part
of
the
staff
and
now
we're
going
to
turn
it
over
to
Hannibal
Hobson
who's.
Going
to
tell
you
about
his
experiences
last
year
with
the
Pittsburgh
Youth
Employment
Program.
C
D
C
D
June
Asia
Brooks
I
had
the
opportunity
to
work
with
see
the
summer
youth
employment
program,
as
well
as
the
Middle
East
and
whomever
around
and
basically
I
had
a
remarkable
experience
with
the
program.
They
taught
me
a
lot
as
far
as
like
they
helped
me
build
my
confidence.
They
helped
build
me
help
me
build
like
a
strong
pump.
D
They
hope.
Oh
so
sorry,
everyone
I'm
so
nervous
I
do
apologize,
but
they
just
well.
They
basically
helped
me
build
a
steady
foundation
that
helped
me
like
that
at
noon,
for
that
that
I
was
wounded
out
and
get
a
job
at
Newport
fact
that
I
was
going
to
be
someone
in
life.
They
made
it
clear
to
me
that
if
you
don't
have
some
type
of
study,
foundation
or
type
of
action
playing
business
plan
like
you're
not
going
to
get
that
far
in
life,
they
honestly
they
made
it.
D
I
was
failing
in
school,
I
was
I,
wasn't
doing,
I,
wasn't
meeting
my
academic
potential
and
basically
that's
what
they
helped
me.
Do
they
help
me
reach
the
sky's
the
limit
they?
Let
me
know
that
anything
is
possible.
You
just
have
to
apply
yourself.
You
have
to
do
it,
it's
not
gonna
happen
unless
you
have
higher,
so
they
also
helped
me
build
just
like
a
life.
Is
a
big
support
system.
They're
the
best
support
system
ever
head
and
I,
just
I
think
everybody
for
it.
C
E
E
My
name
is
shyaa'n
Brown
and
I
had
the
opportunity
to
work
with
the
Summer
Youth
Employment
Program
too
I
really
like
this
experience,
because
they
taught
me
what
it
makes
it
has
a
job
and
how
to
behave
at
an
interview
and
everything
possible
and
once
I
got
placed
at
my
job
as
a
real
warrior.
It
carried
on
to
a
year-round
program.
E
This
really
took
up
a
lot
of
time
in
the
summer
and
it
gave
me
something
to
do
instead
of
nothing
they
sitting
around,
I
was
able
to
work
and
make
money
and
save
laughing
anything
that
was
needed.
Also,
once
I
was
placed
on
a
renal
warrior,
I
found
out
how
much
I
love
working
with
children
and
how
I
would
like
to
continue
to
do
that.
For
the
rest
of
my
life.
C
And
finally,
I'll
say
something
briefly:
I
like
to
first
kind
of
give
a
small
heartfelt
appreciation
to
the
program
and
also
like
to
say
something
small
about
the
current
situation
in
the
Hill
District
right
now,
I'd
like
to
kind
of
give
up,
send
my
heartfelt
condolences
and
the
family
of
principal
Richardson
and
the
entire
Hill
family.
Moving
forward
like
to
say
that
you
know
in
this
library
it's
a
fantastic
resource
to
have
this
I
was
walking
around
like
I,
walked
into
a
starting
seeds
book
how
to
grow
healthy,
productive
vegetables
herbs
and
flowers
from
seed.
C
You
know
it
really
rang
a
point,
we're
all
like
seeds
and
in
a
way
vegetables,
raw,
like
vegetable,
to
comment,
different
shapes
and
sizes
and
textures
and
tastes,
and
we
all
started
season.
You
know
we're
sort
of
scattered
throughout
the
world
and
in
the
organic
world,
and
you
know
we're
all
give
an
opportunity
to
grow.
Something
like
this.
C
To
me
has
really
given
me
the
nurture
minh
and
the
nourishment
to
really
really
find
you
know
my
roots
and
be
able
to
grow
up
right.
It's
been
a
tremendous
experience.
You
know
both
of
the
young
lady's
desk
book
had
tremendous
stories
and
let
the
sink.
Obviously
the
mayor
as
well
as
City
Council
and
everyone
else
was
involved
in
this
program
and
I
just
wanted.
G
G
More
than
anything
that
I
can
add
four
years
we've
had
a
program
in
the
city
that
is
taking
about
300,
kids
and
giving
them
an
opportunity
to
not
only
learn
about
experience
and
being
able
to
to
get
a
hands-on
experience,
but
also
build
that
opportunity
in
that
resume,
an
opportunity
for
kids
to
be
able
to
earn
a
little
bit
of
money
to
get
back
to
school.
The
next
semester
and
in
the
process
build
the
self-esteem
that
we
are
talking
or
heard
about
a
little
bit
earlier.
G
It's
been
a
successful
program,
but
it's
only
been
four
300.
So
last
year
we
doubled
it.
We
had
600
kids,
but
the
problem
was
we
had
1200
that
apply,
which
meant
for
every
kid
that
we
were
giving
that
opportunity
to.
We
were
saying
no
to
another
and
through
the
support
of
foundations
and
through
the
support
of
corporations
through
the
support
of
Jerome
Bettis
by
the
partnership
with
Allegheny
County
by
everybody.
G
This
is
a
partnership
that
isn't
really
being
driven
by
city
government,
but
is
empowering
organizations
like
the
gluten
filled,
Garfield
corporation,
like
Carnegie
Library
and,
like
others,
to
be
able
to
take
their
missions
and
to
take
them
even
further,
and
that's
really
how
we
go
about
this.
It's
a
partnership
that
is
based
in
the
community
based
in
the
neighborhood,
helps
the
family
helps
the
individual
gets
people.
A
sense
of
self-worth
gives
them
a
little
bit
of
a
jingle
in
their
pocket
when
they
go
back
to
school
and
at
the
same
time,
wakens
in
them.
G
F
Thank
you
hi,
I'm
here
today
on
behalf
of
rich
Fitzgerald,
the
county
executive
for
Allegheny
County,
and
he
is
out
of
town
and
unable
to
be
here,
but
he
asks
me
to
to
let
you
know
how
proud
we
are
to
be
part
of
this
this
year,
the
to
partner
with
the
city
of
Pittsburgh
and
the
Three
Rivers
workforce
investment
board,
so
that
young
people
all
over
the
region
can
go
to
work
this
summer.
I
also
would
say
to
you
two
things,
one
to
every
young
person
who
is
here
today.
F
F
I
would
also
say
that
you
do
this
at
a
time
in
our
city
and
in
this
region
in
all
of
Allegheny
County,
when
the
the
world
of
work
is
expanding
and
it's
becoming
more
diverse
and
we
are
a
city
in
a
county
that
really
are
in
good
time.
So
you
enter
the
world
of
work
at
a
time
when
there
is
work
for
you
and
I,
encourage
you
to
take
advantage
of
every
opportunity
that
comes
to
you
this
summer.
Thanks.
H
Hi
everyone
I'm
here
on
behalf
of
Stephanie
passionate
from
the
Three
Rivers
Workforce
Investment,
Board
I,
just
want
to
say
how
excited
we
are
that
this
collaboration,
this
communication
in
this
partnership
that
has
been
a
conversation
for
many
years,
has
finally
come
to
fruition
from
Allegheny
County
the
mayor's
office,
the
city
team
in
Three,
Rivers,
Workforce,
Investment,
Board,
we're
proud
to
offer
these
job
opportunities
to
our
area,
youth.
All
I
can
say
to
all
of
you
take
advantage
of
it.
This
is
your
next
step
to
your
goals,
your
future
and
your
success
in
life.
A
Thanks
again,
everybody
for
being
here,
I
think
closing
I
just
want
to
tell
you
this.
This
is
incredible.
We
processed
said
printed
700,
Summer,
Youth
applications
today,
tremendous
thanks
again
everybody
things
being
here.
Good
luck
this
summer
and
make
sure
you
head
upstairs
or
as
a
workshops
up
in
our
meeting
room
space.
