A
That's
not
what
your
city
can
do
for
you,
that's
what
you
can
do
for
your
city,
not
exactly
the
words
President
Kennedy
meant
when
he
use
that
in
is
inaugural
speech
in
1961,
but
the
meaning
is
as
important
today
as
it
was
yesterday,
and
this
is
the
case
right
now
here
in
Pittsburgh.
The
roadmap
for
inclusive
innovation
is
a
guy
that
we're
using
to
take
Pittsburgh
to
the
future
we
want
to
be
part
of,
and
we
have
six
ways
that
we've
identified
to
get
there
today
we're
going
to
talk
about
engagement.
A
Few
announcements
before
we
start
PGH
labs
to
point
out
very
excited.
We
had
a
very
successful
first
cycle,
we're
accepting
applications
for
our
second
cohort.
Anybody
not
familiar
with
this
program.
Pgh
lab,
is
an
opportunity
for
startups
to
work
with
government
to
test
their
products,
to
gain
valuable
feedback
and
to
verify
or
validate
their
business
model.
A
We
have
two
new
partners
to
cycle
the
housing
authority
and
PGH
well
PWSA
and
if
you've
been
following
a
the
news
about
the
uprise,
they
just
announced,
10
finalists
and
one
of
the
finalists
is
a
cohort
from
our
first
cycle.
Hi
burson
and
they'll
be
competing
for
300,000
dollars.
So
we're
very
excited
about
that
and
if
you
have
any
questions,
please
reach
out
to
anya
le
monde,
she's,
a
program
manager.
A
The
second
nouncement
is
about
inclusive
innovation.
Week
is
coming
up
at
the
end
of
March.
This
is
last
year
was
the
first
year.
The
shoes
would
be
bigger,
be
better
and
it's
going
to
be
definitely
more
inclusive.
Last
year,
I
participate
as
a
citizen.
I'm
excited
to
be
on
the
organizing
side
of
things
this
year.
We're
really
all
the
credit
goes
to
Christian.
Marty
I
can't
really
see
her,
but
I
think
she's
back
there
she's
a
program
manager.
Please
reach
out
to
her.
Ask
any
questions:
you're,
not
sure
what
this
is
about.
A
She
will
be
happy
to
answer
at
all.
We
got
really
good
partnerships,
some
really
good
synergies.
A
nice
digital
component
and
yeah
there's
still
room
for
more
events,
so,
if
you're
interested
in
hosting
please,
let's
let
go
soon
Oh,
so
we're
here
to
talk
about
City.
This
is
an
engagement
and
before
you
know
before
we
wanted
to
talk
about
this
I
hope
that
we
actually
go
beyond
that
and
I
was
thinking
about
this
word
engagement
and
when
did
that
actually
become
part
of
our
lexicon.
A
So
I
did
some
research
before
today
and
I
found
some
interesting
results
and
if
you
ever
use
Google
Trends
before
I
highly
recommend
it
so
I
did
a
10
year.
Research
of
the
words
engagement
compared
to
communication
and
I
did
it
here
in
the
United
States
and
where
that
arrows
point
is
a
really
interesting.
A
Inflection
point:
that's
right
around
between
2007
and
2010
2007
right
around
this
time,
the
guys
from
Twitter
and
a
car
head
into
South
by
Southwest
to
launch
their
social
network
in
2009
facebook
launched
fan
pages,
which
is
the
ultimate
tool
for
building
your
community
and
in
2010
Airbnb
start
a
game
recognition
for
the
way
we
travel
today,
as
we
know
it.
So.
A
What's
really
interesting,
though,
is
when
you
expand
those
parameters
to
a
worldwide
search.
You
get
the
same
story.
It
kind
of
looks
a
little
bit
different
at
first,
but
engagement
is
really
on
the
trend
that
we
saw
within
the
United
States
and
the
only
reason
that
it
hasn't
hit
that
inflection
point
yet
is
because
the
United
States
we
adopt
technology
faster
than
the
the
world
as
a
whole.
So
when
we
speak
about
engagement,
there's
not
just
one
type,
so
I
did
one
more
searched
and
I
searched.
A
I
did
three
queries
and
what
you
see
here
is
exactly
what
I
see
here:
community
engagement,
it's
literally
the
common
denominator,
that's
uniting
us
and
what
we're
trying
to
do
here
in
Pittsburgh.
But
when
we
talk
about
city
level,
engagement,
community
engagement
is
not
enough.
We
still
need
participation
from
the
private
sector
government.
We
also
need
engagement
and
support
from
the
institutional
side,
so
I'm
happy
that
we
have
a
scope
of
perspectives
here
today
when
we
go
through
this
facilitation.
A
Equally
important
is
just
like
looking
across
the
whip,
the
river
at
the
north
side
and
see
what
happened
innova
place.
It's
a
great
example
of
an
engagement
model
that
we
should
think
about
when
we're
working
together.
Today
and
again,
when
you
look
through
the
lens
of
the
world
community
engagements
the
way
to
go,
we
were
talking
about
the
inclusive
innovation.
We're
talking
about
engagement.
There's
this
parallel
relationship
between
the
reason
is.
B
A
The
National
Institute
for
robotics
at
CMU,
they
have
a
Springfree
week
where
you
go
and
check
out
the
facility
it's
coming
up.
I
would
put
that
on
your
agenda.
A
lot
of
fun,
but
what's
so
interesting
to
me,
is
that
innovation
is
literally
changing
the
shape
of
engagement.
Communication
is
no
longer
transactional.
It's
storytelling!
It's
no
longer
one
or
two
channels.
It's
omni-channel!
So
when
I
see
this
video's.
A
A
They
had
a
large
scale
game
set
up
in
the
park
right
next
to
the
zumba
stage,
and
you
know
it
was
a
really
fun
day
to
be
out
there
and
playing,
and
if
I
would
have
done
it
right
and
known
the
weather,
it
would
be
so
warm
I
would
have
said
we
should
have
done
this
facilitation
outside,
but
I'm
really
excited
to
work
with.
Adam
I
met
him
through
my
through
my
colleague
Christine.
It
was
actually
her
idea
so
kudos
to
her
for
recommending
working
with
them.
C
D
D
D
These
goals
aren't
perfect.
They
don't
have
to
be
perfect,
but
they
are
something
that
the
city's
going
to
be
able
to
use
the
jumping
off
point
to
create
something
that
it
can
do
for
its
citizens
over
the
next.
You
know
year
or
two
or
three
or
four.
Whatever
the
last
thing
we're
going
to
do
before
I
know,
everybody's
got
to
leave
we're
just
going
to
go
around
the
table
or
run
the
room
a
couple
of
times
and
share
some
of
the
goals
we've
come
up
with,
so
why
don't?
D
B
F
Okay,
so
one
of
our
items
was
to
have
a
universal
sign
up,
and
this
was
under
engagement,
so
this
would
be
a
universal,
so
our
goal
is
to
provide
a
tool
that
connects
neighbors
that
need
help
with
people
willing
to
help
so
people
that
need
help
shoveling
or
raking
or
planting
or
taking
out
their
trash
with
the
volunteers.
Who
are
willing
to
do
this.
So
this
single
Universal
sign
up
would
be
an
entry
point
or
portal
there
be
one
authentication
need
login
you'd
create
your
account.
F
F
It
would
let
you
connect
to
the
programs
that
you
want
to
be
part
of,
and
if
you'll
say
you
were
signing
up
to
help
with
with
children,
and
you
check
that
box,
it
would
bring
up
the
clearances
that
you
would
need
to
apply
for
and
stuff
like
that
and
also
allow
people
who
want
help
to
potentially
sign
up
for
subscriptions
or
announcements
or
newsletters
or
whatever.
We
had
the
idea
of
gamifying
this,
where
you
know
you
could
get
certain
levels.
D
C
So
our
goal
is
to
share
consistent
messaging
across
all
culturally
identified
influencers
and
those
influencers
include
CBC's
cultural
associations
and
other
nonprofits
that
serve
communities
across
the
city.
And
we
would
like
to
make
sure
that
that
includes
measurement
goals,
of
how
many
people
have
been
engaged.
How
many
people
receive
the
message
and
how
many
people
attended
said
opportunity.
E
B
Ours
is
the
education
portion.
One
of
our
goals
was
to
post
citizen
guides
on
social
media
outlets
and
creating
a
local
government
guide
on
the
political
process,
so
that
16
to
34
year
olds
are
more
familiar
about
local
government
functions
and
what
it
can
and
cannot
do.
This
can
be
measured
by
the
number
of
calls
or
emails
or
social
media
interactions
with
Millennials
and
with
elected
officials,
and
calls
to
311
website
traffic
things
like
that,
and
the
goals
would
be
to
have
increased
interaction
between
those.
D
E
We
focused
on
fresh
fruit,
fresh
food
provision,
finding
ways
to
get
fresh
food
to
the
people
who
need
it
and
we
identified
gathering
data
on
who
uses
farmers
markets
and
who
needs
who
needs
more
access
to
fresh
food
and
then
partner
with
NGOs
to
increase
access
to
free
for
fresh
food,
not
free
food,
fresh
food.
The
whole
goal
is
to
making
we
started
with
making
farmers
markets
more
accessible
to
the
disadvantage,
but
its
general
category
making
fresh
food
more
accessible
to
those
who
don't
have
access
to
it.
E
D
Yes,
alright,
so
what
all?
How
do
you
guys
do
after
I'm
finished
talking
here?
Just
bring
up
your
sheets,
we'll
hang
them
up.
We
can
talk
about
it,
a
little
bit
more
hangouts
a
little
bit
real,
quick.
You
can
find
out
more
about
me
and
what
I
do
online
City
plate,
org
flywheel
go
fly
will
go
com.
This
is
the
kind
of
stuff
that
I
do
for
other
businesses
and
companies.
D
I
also
help
companies
learn
how
to
do
this
themselves,
so
they
don't
need
me
up
here
on
the
microphone
telling
them
what
to
do
the
whole
time.
You
guys
did
a
really
great
job.
Two
hours
is
not
enough
time
to
do
this
and
you
guys
did
it
so
last
thing:
I
think
it's
just
give
yourselves
a
big
hand
for
doing
it,
though,
if
you
do
want
to
talk
about
anymore,
the
ideas
you
generated-
and
you
don't
have
time
to
hang
out-
you
can
talk
to
todd.
Todd
is
going
to
be
a
kind
of
a
point.
