reverend
ricky
burgess
pittsburgh
is
becoming
a
city
for
all,
because
black
pittsburgh
matters,
our
city,
is
reimagining
our
police
force.
We
have
strengthened
the
civilian
police
review
board
to
give
it
greater
civilian
oversight
over
the
police.
We
created
and
funded
the
stop,
the
violence,
initiative
and
trust
fund
to
create
greater
community
and
policy
partnership
programs.

We
stopped
the
hiring
of
new
officers
in
order
to
right-size
the
police
force.
We
initiated
a
number
of
police
reform
policies,
including
a
duty
to
intervene,
requiring
police
officers
to
stop
another
officer's
bad
behavior.
We
prohibit
buying
suppressed
military
equipment,
ban
the
use
of
chokeholds
and
no
knock
warrants.

We
are
implementing
recommendations
of
the
community
task
force
on
police
reform
and,
finally,
in
order
to
implement
these
and
other
future
public
safety
reforms.
We
have
created
twin
city
offices,
the
office
of
community
health
and
safety
in
the
mayor's
office
and
the
office
of
community
services
and
violence.
Prevention

department

partner
in
the

pittsburgh
matters.
