A
C
Please
be
seated.
Thank
you.
Thank
you
sonia.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
Everyone
for
coming
and
celebrating
with
us
today
we're
here
to
celebrate
the
promotion
and
promotions
and
swearing
in
of
our
newest
promoted
leaders
in
the
Pittsburgh
Bureau
of
police.
This
is
an
exciting
time
in
American
policing.
It's
a
stressful
time
in
American
policing.
It
was
chief
chief,
led
Flynn
from
the
City
of
Milwaukee
said
that
to
say
one
is
in
favor
of
change.
C
The
one
supports
change
is
kind
of
like
saying
that
you
support
gravity
change
is
going
to
occur
and
we
in
Pittsburgh
are
embracing
the
fact
that
we
as
a
profession
need
to
evolve.
When
you
do
a
change,
we
need
to
continually
be
trying
to
improve
ourselves.
Our
goal
is
to
institute
a
model
of
dispersed
leadership
throughout
the
organization
where
everyone
in
the
organization
recognizes
themselves
as
a
leader
with
that
ethical
responsibility
of
service
to
the
community,
as
well
as
responsibility
for
the
future
success
of
this
organization.
C
B
Thank
You
chief
welcome
family
friends.
What
you
see
standing
here
is
the
future
of
the
Pittsburgh
Police
Bureau
I'm
very
excited
about
the
direction
the
police
department's
going
each
and
every
one
of
these
candidates
here
for
promotion.
I
rest
assured
earned
that
promotion
based
on
merit
they're,
all
very
good
leaders,
they've
demonstrated
that
throughout
their
career
so
far,
the
process
that's
in
place
ensures
that
we
only
select
our
best
leaders
moving
forward,
so
I
congratulate
each
and
every
one
of
the
promo
T's.
D
Thank
the
director
and
to
those
being
promoted
today,
congratulations
to
the
friends
and
family
that
are
gathered
here
today.
I
just
want
to
take
a
moment
to
say.
Thank
you.
Thank
you
for
letting
us
share
with
you
these
men
and
women
who
are
taking
this
next
step
of
responsibility.
You
should
be
very
proud
today
is
a
day
that
they
have
earned
the
promotion
that
they
are,
that
they
are
receiving.
D
The
responsibility
will
lie
within
you
from
sergeants
to
commanders,
to
instill
in
the
rank-and-file
that
belief
in
that
hope
that
this
will
be
the
best
Bureau
within
this
country
and
to
reflect
to
a
community
that
it
will
be
a
partner
not
just
in
solving
crime,
but
in
keeping
crime
from
even
happening.
So
without
much
more
do
I
would
like
to
be
able
to
read
the
oath
of
office,
we're
going
to
start
with
commander
and
for
that
Karen.
Dixon.
D
B
D
And
finally,
today
we
will
be
swearing
in
for
sergeants.
There
is
a
pit
sergeant.
Kurt
Kim,
who
is
currently
out
of
the
state
will
not
be
able
to
join
us
today,
but
will
be
sworn
in
when
they
return
in
the
mayor's
conference
room.
So
if
I
could
please
be
joined
by
Todd
Waller
Timothy
Novosel
joe
louis
joseph
m
lewis,
lance
p
hoisin.
D
D
E
Commander
Dixon
will
be
assigned
to
zone
three
lieutenant.
Surely
we
assigned
to
the
chief's
office
for
a
temporary
basis
until
we
give
him
his
assignment
lieutenant
Palermo
zone
for
sergeant
Waller
zone
for
sergeant
Kim
will
be
zoned
for
sergeant.
Novus
all
will
be
zoned
to
sergeant
Lewis
will
be
zone
5.
C
F
Thank
You,
chief
first
and
foremost,
congratulations,
everyone
that
was
promoted
over
the
past
year.
There's
no
doubt
in
my
mind
that
the
girl
police
is
in
the
right
direction
and
they're
slaughtering
the
leadership
from
within
and
congratulations
to
everybody
and
last
but
not
least,
thank
you,
Miss
Maier's
director/chief
for
letting
me
share
this
this
day.
It's
always
good
to
share
a
good
day
with
you
sit
Thank,
you
Thank.
D
You
sergeant
very
well
said
it
is
nice
to
share
a
good
day.
I
want
to
thank
her
gram,
congratulate
the
officers
who
are
promoted
today,
the
responsibility
that
you've
taken
on
a
day-in
day-out
basis
to
make
it
home
safe
to
their
family
and
the
loved
ones
that
are
here.
You
now
have
exponential
duty
to
make
sure
that
everyone
it
serves
under
you
has
that
same
opportunity
to
do
so.
Chiefs
right,
it's
interesting
times
and
I
would
never
try
to
tell
you
how
to
do
your
job.
D
D
We
promoted
the
right
people
to
be
able
to
take
that
mission
on
it's
an
honorable
day
today
for
the
city
of
Pittsburgh
to
see
so
many
good
candidates
get
promoted
based
upon
the
merit
and
it's
a
process
that
we
want
to
see
continued
on
behalf
of
Stephen
bukar,
the
director
and
the
Department
of
Public
Safety
on
behalf
of
Cameron
McClay,
the
chief
in
the
Bureau
of
the
Pittsburgh
Bureau
of
police
and
on
behalf
of
the
people
of
the
city
of
Pittsburgh.
Congratulations.
