A
So
we
began
this
program
in
January
and
we
wanted
to
recognize
not
only
those
employees
that
exemplify
the
best
of
the
city's
workforce,
but
those
that
have
dedicated
their
lives
to
serving
the
people
of
Pittsburgh.
We
created
the
award
in
remembrance
of
mayor
Sophie,
masloff
and
mayor
man's
lofts.
Work
was
probably
the
most
of
any
mayor
of
the
city
of
Pittsburgh
in
serving
and
as
a
public
servant,
not
as
a
mayor
but
as
a
public
servant
for
her
entire
life,
and
so
we
named
the
award
after
her
the
mayor,
Sophie
masloff,
employee.
A
The
month
award
goes
to
employees
who
have
dedicated
themselves
to
bettering
the
city
serving
the
public
and
the
people
of
the
city
of
Pittsburgh
in
doing
so
in
an
exemplary
way.
So
it's
my
honor
to
be
able
to
present
this
to
officer
Bobby
Herndon
for
this
month,
but
also
to
be
able
to
present
this
proclamation
as
well.
On
behalf
of
the
people
of
the
city
of
Pittsburgh,
whereas
master
police
officer,
Bobby
Herndon
will
be
completing
40
years
of
service
with
the
city
of
Pittsburgh
Bureau
of
police.
A
B
A
D
Translations
I
was
just
trying
to
think
where
I
was
in
1978
and
we
won't
go
there,
but
I
mean
I
spent
25
years
with
the
FBI,
and
that
seemed
like
a
long
time
and
you
spent
40
years
with
the
city
of
Pittsburgh
and
I.
Can't
imagine
some
of
the
stories
that
you
have
and
experiences
but
I
think
and
correct
me
if
I'm
wrong,
but
I
think
you
are
the
oldest
longest
police,
not
oldest
and
age,
but.
A
D
Serving
police
officer
in
the
city
so
for
that
on
behalf
of
Public
Safety,
thank
you
very
much
and
I
know
the
first
time
I
met.
You
I
asked
you
to
come
the
office
and
I
think
that
was
you
indicated
to
me.
That
was
the
first
time
you
you
thought
you
were
in
trouble
and
it
was
the
first
time
you
had
come
to
the
public
safety
director's
office.
So
but
you
enlightened
me
about
abandoned
vehicles,
because
I
know
the
mayor
and
the
former
chief
of
staff
had
many
questions,
of
which
I
knew
nothing
about
that
commander.
D
A
Thank
you
yes
and
I
just
want
to
make
for
the
public's
knowledge.
The
recommendations
of
the
employee
there
month
is
made
directly
by
the
directors
and
the
chiefs
of
the
bureau's.
It
is
requested
on
a
monthly
basis,
and
your
recommendation
was
made
by
chief
Schubert,
who
couldn't
be
here
today,
but
she
stan
grec.
He
is
chief.
B
B
Too
would
like
to
thank
Bobby
Herndon
for
her
dedication
for
40
years
of
service
not
only
to
the
citizens,
but
also
to
the
bureau
police,
for
the
help
that
you
provide
me.
What
I
call
with
my
dumb
questions
about
abandoned
cars
and
towing
operations
and
so
forth,
and
I
too,
was
thinking
about
where
I
was
at
when
you
were
hard
and
I
was
about
to
go
into
eighth
grade.
C
B
E
Bobby,
congratulations
well
deserved
I've,
known
Bobby
for
the
25
plus
years
that
I've
been
with
the
department
and
it's
always
been
a
pleasure
to
know
her
I've
had
the
privilege
the
last
couple
of
years
of
being
her
commander
and,
as
the
mayor
pointed
out,
she
works
with
pretty
much
no
supervision.
As
a
matter
of
fact,
our
supervision
of
her
is
pretty
much.
This
hey
Bobby.
We
have
this
problem,
ok,
I
got
it
solved
and
that's
pretty
much
it.
What
do
you
need
not
much
of
anything
she's,
a
dream
employee.
E
A
C
Pretty
much
am
just
humbled
right
now,
I
I,
like
what
I
do
it's,
you
know,
talk
cars,
don't
speak,
you
know,
and
when
you're
dealing
with
cars
you
don't
have
to
deal
with
a
whole
lot
of
other
things
like
back-talking
things
like
that,
you
know
it
is
what
it
is,
but
I
am
very,
very,
very
appreciative
of
this
award.
Thank
you.
So
much
I
really
appreciate
it
and.
