A
So
I'm
Rebecca
Harris
I'm,
the
director
of
the
center
for
women's
entrepreneurship
at
Chatham,
University,
Thank,
You,
mr.
mayor
for
having
us
here
and
for
your
team
for
inviting
us.
We
really
appreciate
it.
The
mission
of
our
Center
is
to
create
economic
opportunities
for
women,
through
entrepreneurial
training
and
through
education,
through
mentoring
and
through
networking.
We
have
a
our
programs
abroad
and
numerous
everything
from
a
half-day
workshop
to
the
basics
of
starting
a
business
to
a
ten
week
intensive
plan
development
plan.
A
Women
are
currently
starting
businesses
that
wondering
a
half
times
the
national
rate,
the
national
average,
but
in
making
them
very
key
and
significant
players
in
this
whole
ecosystem
and
position
really
to
make
significant
contributions
to
what's
happening
in
entrepreneurship,
and
our
programs
are
customized
to
be
women
centric
and
focus
on
increasing
the
ability
of
women
to
really
do
business,
because
here
are
the
things
that
they
really
need.
They
need
help
secure
in
funding.
They
need
help
hiring
employees,
they
need
to
take
calculated
risks
and
they
need
to
ask.
A
But
those
are
some
of
the
things
that
we
really
find
a
report
when
we
reach
natural
rhythm
and
our
result,
we
reach
over
275
women
business
owners
with
customized
programming.
Our
membership
is
90
members
with
exclusive
opportunities
to
our
membership
community.
Our
outreach
is
extensive.
We've
worked
in
partner
with
so
many
of
you
in
this
room
has
really
been
exciting,
as
well
as
a
tendon
and
hosting
many
events,
and
in
terms
of
future
collaboration
here,
I
see
two
strategic
opportunities.
A
One
of
the
biggest
challenges
I
see
today
is
to
collectively
increase
the
level
of
digital
literacy
for
women,
business
owners,
time
and
again,
over
and
over
we've
seen
so
much
effort
be
placed
into
product
and
service
development,
with
very
little
expertise
in
digital
literacy
and
that
can
make
or
break
a
business
one
hundred
percent.
The
second
opportunity
I
see
is
for
the
city
to
get
involved
in
certification
programs
in
licensing
those
are
very
hard
and
arduous
processes
to
go
through,
but
if
we
can
help
them
and
really
be
on
the
ground,
helping
women
do
that.
