A
Hi
my
name
is
ella
and
I
help
manage
the
pgh
lab
program
here
at
the
city
of
pittsburgh.
Pgh
lab
is
a
six-month
cohort
partnership
that
connects
local
startups
with
city
departments
and
authorities
to
help
bring
innovation
to
local
governments.
Now,
let's
hear
from
one
of
our
7.0
cohort
teams
about
their
project.
B
There
are
a
number
of
reasons:
people
might
experience
food
insecurity,
often
we
think
of
not
having
a
grocery
store
nearby,
but
also
many
folks,
don't
know
what
to
do
with
the
fresh
food,
how
to
select
it,
how
to
process
it,
how
to
store
the
fresh
produce.
So
education
is
really
a
key
component
to
a
cultural
shift
in
creating
a
food,
secure
city.
C
Royally
fit's
goal
is
to
provide
equitable
access
to
health
screenings,
wellness
workshops,
food
justice
resources
and
solution-based
products
to
those
who
lack
equitable
access.
We
applied
to
pgh
lab
as
an
opportunity
to
introduce
the
city's
leadership
to
our
programming,
with
the
hopes
of
being
able
to
implement
our
holistic
approach
to
preventative
health
and
wellness
throughout
pittsburgh.
C
Our
participation
in
pgh
lab
we
have
been
able
to
expand
our
farm
to
table
workshops
into
the
historical
hill
district,
where
we
are
teaching
residents
how
to
grow
their
own
food.
The
nutritional
value
of
each
produce
item
presenting
a
cooking
demonstration
educating
on
healthy
recipes
of
the
featured
item,
which
includes
tasting
every
participant,
leaves
with
seedlings
recipes
and
growing
instructions
at
no
cost
to
them.
