From YouTube: Small Business Resource Fair - 9/23/15
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
This
is
our
third
and
final
for
the
year
small
business
resource,
fair
government
addition,
the
entire
series
of
small
business
resource
fairs,
has
been
taking
place
all
around
the
city,
and
the
idea
is
that
we
realized
there's
a
lot
of
folks
with
great
entrepreneurial
minds
that
aren't
necessarily
accessing
the
resources
that
the
many
government
and
nonprofit
partners
around
the
city
have
to
offer.
So
we
thought
why
not
take
those
resources
directly
to
them.
After
you
doing
those
events
a
few
times,
we
realized
that
there
are.
A
In
their
opinion,
we
can
all
learn
from
each
other
and
we
can
all
have
a
little
bit
easier
lives,
quite
frankly,
so
I'm
not
going
to
have
a
be
labored
introduction,
I'm,
but
I
am
very
excited
to
have
two
awesome
and
interesting
speakers
here
today
we
have
Todd
graph
from
the
Department
of
permits,
licenses
and
inspections.
Todd
is
working
on
the
kind
of
computer
systems
that
make
pli
work
and
he's
helped
bringing
us
into
the
20th
century.
A
Frankly,
as
far
as
keeping
track
of
permits
that
are
issued,
attaching
them
to
land
being
able
to
find
information
more
quickly
and
easily
and
eventually
allowing
for
the
possibility
of
applying
for
or
at
least
beginning
the
process
for
permit
applications
online
as
well.
We
have
Patrick
Hammonds
from
our
code
for
america.
A
Team
Patrick
was
part
of
a
three-person
team
that
Deborah's
staff
I
leave
Laura
right,
Laura,
Mike
Salar,
our
analytics
and
strategy
manager
brought
to
Pittsburgh
to
help
identify
problems
that
the
entrepreneurial
community
is
facing
and
pick
one
of
them
that
they
can
completely,
if
not
almost,
if
not
almost
completely
resolved
and
Patrick
and
the
rest
of
his
team
created
an
app
that
you
may
have
heard
of
by
now
called
beacon
which
he'll
explain
in
detail.
So
before
we
begin
with
the
speakers,
I
just
want
to
go
around
the
room
with
the
folks
at
the
table.
A
B
No
Susan
going
with
the
Department
of
City
Planning,
which
is
actually
looking
at
down
the
street
at
200
Ross.
The
city
clinic,
includes
an
initiative
that
mean
office
where
all
the
feminine
cases
these
specifications
start.
So,
if
you're
moving
into
a
new
location,
if
you're
doing
any
kind
of
renovation
to
be
just
started
actually
at
the
zoning
counter,
even
before,
even
if
it's
just
an
existing
user
name
just
take
out
an
ad
structure
that
you're
renovating
all
those
building.
B
C
D
Everyone,
my
name,
is
Ben
curlies
I'm
with
the
Department
of
Public
Works,
and
we
issue
the
permits
that
have
to
do
with
anything
in
the
right-of-way
meaning
in
turn
of
your
business,
on
the
sidewalk
or
even
in
the
street.
So
if
any
of
you
have
any
restaurants,
you
might
want
to
put
on
a
sidewalk
that.
D
To
us,
or
if
you
have
a
retail
shop-
and
you
want
to
display
your
wares-
you
can
come
to
us
we'll
give
you
a
permit
to
that.
We
have
a
lot
of
other
types
of
permits
like
valet
parking,
if
you're
going
to
renovate
your
building-
and
you
want
to
put
up
scaffolding
staffing
so
anything
that
is
on
the
sidewalk,
you
need
a
permit
for
we're
located
at
611.
Second
Avenue,
we
have
free
parking
in
the
back
of
our
building.
D
So
if
you
want
to
come
visit
our
permit
office
to
get
a
permit
will
accommodate
your
parking
for
you
other
than
that
we're
on
the
city
website.
We
have
our
own
homepage,
Public
Works
own
page.
All
of
our
permits
are
listed
on
the
home
page
and
we're
available
anytime
between
7
and
6
p.m.
during
the
day.
Infinitely.
E
I'm
going
silicon
with
the
finance
department
here
he's
going
second
floor
and
out
what
I
do
the
bar,
because
is,
you
would
come
to
our
office
register
your
business
and
taxes,
and
if
you
haven't
questions
regards
the
various
taxes
for
your
business,
it
would
be
the
people
you
could
see
regards
to
that.
We
working
b
li
in
their
car
meeting.
E
B
F
G
Everything
that
he
just
explained
we're
doing
the
same
thing:
yep
yeah
hi.
My
name
is
Bob
glotón
with
the
Allegheny
County
Health
Department,
food
safety,
division,
Joe,
witzel
and
I
are
here
representing
the
food
safety
division
in
terms
of
the
plan
review
section
that
we
have
so
places
that
are
hoping
to
open
as
a
new
food
service
facility,
a
retail
food
market
or
other
businesses
involving
food
would
come
to
our
office
for
permits.
G
F
C
A
F
F
F
The
first
phase
of
this
upgrade
is
the
installation
and
deployment,
and
this
phase
is
currently
about
ninety
percent
complete.
What
this
means
is
that
we've
installed
we've
deployed
and
we
have
migrated
all
of
our
historical
data
and
records
into
the
new
system,
and
the
new
system
is
the
acela
civic
cloud
platform.
F
So
any
time
you
come
into
the
third
floor,
200
ross
street,
where
we
are-
and
you
work
with
us
you're,
going
to
be
working,
utilizing
this
new
platform
that
we
have
recently
launched
our
second
phase
that
we're
going
to
be
moving
into
in
october,
and
you
can
see
from
the
infographic
here
we
kind
of
moved
down
from
phase
1
here
to
phase
two
in
this
second
phase
here,
it'll
start
in
october.
First
and
the
goal
for
this
phase
is
to
develop
out
the
acela
citizen
access
portal
and
what
this
is.
F
This
is
a
website
that
you,
as
the
citizen,
are
able
to
access
and
utilize
to
acquire
permits
and
licenses,
so
you'll
no
longer
have
to
come
into
200
rah
street
to
meet
with
us
and
talk
with
us
you'll
be
able
to
just
do
this
right
online
and
to
get
your
your
your
business
rolling.
So
this
phase
is,
is
really
going
to
be
kind
of
rolling
out
in
octo
over
until
December.
Now.
F
So
our
third
phase
is
going
to
just
be
focused
on
creating
data
sets
custom
data
sets
for
you
all
and
ones
that
we
are
publishing
as
well
and
publishing
them.
On
the
regional
open
data
portal,
for
you
to
then
access
once
again,
Julie
and
I
are
here
to
answer
any
specific
questions
that
you
might
have,
and
my
focus
will
be
on
the
technical
side
of
things
that
you
have
and
anything
about.
The
business
operations
in
day-to-day
julie
will
be
able
to
handle.
A
H
All
right,
Thank,
You
Henry,
as
Henry
mention
my
name-
is
Patrick
Hammonds
I'm
from
Code
for
America.
Has
anyone
heard
of
Code
for
America
before
raise
your
hand
a
little
bit?
Okay,
so
Code
for
America
is
an
organization?
Is
a
non-profit
based
in
San
Francisco
that
partners
of
city
governments
all
over
the
country
to
help
improve
their
digital
services?
We
believe
that
a
lot
of
government
services
could
be
made
better
by
beautiful
interfaces
and
and
information.
That's
actually
delivered
indian
real
time.
H
So,
throughout
the
year
we
have
been
working
with
mesa
city
departments
to
find
areas
where
our
skills
could
be
put
to
use
and
we
could
actually
deliver
improvements
to
in
you
know
what
kind
of
small
small
applications
and
this
beacon
which
mount
talking
about
today
was
really
began
at
this
event
in
February.
H
So
when
we
were
our
first
day
in
the
city
of
Pittsburgh,
we
came
to
the
winner,
small
business
resource
fair,
and
we
saw
a
lot
of
people
that
had
many
questions
for
City
Department
about
how
to
do
business
in
the
city,
and
it
was
the
middle
of
februari.
You
know
you
know
what
people
are
coming
to
downtown
on
like
a
Wednesday
night,
when
it's
freezing
outside
that.
That
really
means
something.
H
So
we
have
been
trying
to
figure
out
ways
to
to
provide
information
in
a
more
easily
accessible
way
throughout
the
year,
and
one
of
the
things
we
saw
was
people
don't
know
about
upcoming
opportunities
to
work
with
the
city
of
Pittsburgh.
They
just
there's
one
place
where
that
goes.
Just
did
you
know
the
newspaper
and
a
small
website
called
bid
net
and
other
than
that?
There's
a
lot
of
people
being
left
out
of
loop.
So
what
we
did
is
we
worked
with
a
group
called
city
parks
back
in
April,
and
we
did
a
small
pilot.
H
They
had
talked
to
us
about
how
they
had
put
out
rfps
multiple
times
for
cleaning
like
cleaners
for
their
many
facilities,
and
they
were
only
able
to
return
in
like
interest
and
bitters
each
time
they
put
it
out.
They
put
out
through
three
times
they
got
one
or
two
respondents
and
if
you're
see
Department
trying
to
find
good
service,
that's
not
really
an
ideal
situation
right.
H
You
don't
actually
have
a
market
to
choose
from
you
just
got
like
well,
whoever
shows
up
gets
the
contract,
and
so
what
we
were
seeing
is
there's
a
communications
gap
and
what
could
we
do
if
we,
if
we
tried
to
to
close
that
gap,
and
so
we
launched
a
simple
website
that
was
all
it
was,
was
an
FAQ
and
a
box
to
put
your
email
address
in?
If
you
put
your
email
address
in,
you
got
regular
updates
about
this
opportunity,
you're
giving
information.
H
We
were
told
when
new
questions
and
answers
were
put
on
the
FAQ,
your
total
upcoming
opportunities
to
do
site
visits
to
to
ask
further
questions,
and
with
that,
with
that
effort
we
were
able
to
see
16
respondents,
so
we
saw
16
times
the
amount
of
respondents
for
this
one
RFP.
So
we
thought
why
don't
we
do
that
with
all
opportunities
and
that's
what
this
is
so
beacon?
What
you
can
do
is
you
go
to
beacon?
That's
build,
PGH,
calm,
/,
beacon.
H
If
you
can't
read
down
the
screen,
you
go
to
beacon
you
put
in
your
email
address,
you
say
what
service
or
commodity
you
provide
and
you
will
get
emails
whenever
an
opportunity
is
posted.
That
matches
one
interesting
opportunity
on
earth
right
now
is
an
RFP
for
a
municipal,
ID
feasibility
study.
So
let's
say
you
are,
you
know,
are
some
kind
of
a
consultant
that
can
can
run
like
feasibility
of
that
kind
of
program.
You
could
respond
to
that
and
you
sign
up.
H
If
you
provide
that
service,
you
get
an
email
and
then
you
can
go
to
beacon
and
get
information
about
how
to
how
to
go
forward
with
that.
Rfp
has
contact
information
and
we
will
be
adding
content
as
as
we
continue
rolling
it
out,
so
I
encourage
you
to
go
today,
sign
up
and
I'll
be
around
throughout
the
evening.
A
few
have
any
questions.
Thank
you.
A
Thanks
a
lot
Patrick,
so
this
is
the
important
part
of
this
evening
now.
This
is
where
everybody
gets
a
chance
to
talk
to
all
the
folks
that
are
seated
around
these
tables.
Ask
specific
questions
or
not
so
specific
questions,
but
the
most
important
part
is
that
we
are
here
face
to
face
talking
to
each
other
in
forming
relationships
so
that
we
realize
the
person
on
each
side
of
the
table
is
a
human
being,
and
neither
of
us
want
to
drive
each
other
nuts.
