B
Aiken
South
Carolina
as
you
meander
down
the
street,
and
if,
by
chance
your
eyes
do
meet
you
smile
and
offer
a
warm
hello
as
you,
each
on
your
way
do
go
you
addressed
as
sir
or
ma'am
people
exude
that
southern
charm?
That's
what
I
like
about
my
hometown,
Aiken
South
Carolina,
smiling
faces
beautiful
places,
Palmetto
trees
and
horse
races,
pleasant,
hellos
from
friendly
people,
soaring
spires
and
church
steeples
live
oak
and
long
needle
pine
green
all
year,
so
refreshingly
fine
that
melodic
sweet,
southern
drawl,
they're
all
inclusive,
friendly
y'all.
B
That's
what
I
like
about
my
hometown,
Aiken
South,
Carolina,
Christmas
lights
and
luminaries
city
officials,
hosting
dignitaries.
No
sleigh
rides
here.
Just
gentle
snow,
occasionally
dusting
the
ground
below.
Then
ever
so
quickly
melt
in
a
way
a
winter
wonderland
for
just
a
day.
That's
what
I
like
about
my
hometown,
Aiken
South,
Carolina,
shrimp
and
grits
biscuits
with
gravy
a
breakfast
delight.
Well,
maybe
collard
greens
and
black-eyed
peas
I'll!
Try
some!

What
life
gets
humdrum
followed
this
rule
of
thumb
at
banks
ear.
You
can
learn
a
bit
of
local
history,
search
where
flora
and
fauna
abound
check
out
the
library
for
the
latest
books
visit,
Copeland
Gardens,
to
find
a
shady
nook
taken,
the
exhibits
and
the
rail
cars
at
the
railroad
depot
so
much
to
see
and
do
wherever
in
town
you
choose
to
go!
That's
what
I
like
about
my
hometown:
Aiken
South
Carolina,
yes,
I'm!
A
transplant,
Yankee,
a
northern
bred
Ritt
hurry
akin
welcomed
me
with
open
arms
and
I
succumb
to
her
glorious
chomps.
