enjoying
today
with
fear
sadness,
ease
our
city
engineer,
and
today
we
are
at
the
location
of
the
Chesterfield
Street
bridge.
It's
a
very
well-traveled
area
in
our
city,
but
recently
Public
Works
took
on
a
stream
water,
drainage,
repair
project.
Add
this
location
and
appears.
We
just
want
to
talk
a
little
bit
about
that
this
morning,
because
this
was
quite
a
project
to
take.

eventually

got
to
the
point
where
the
water
never
entered
the
horizontal
structure,

just
cascaded
across
the
dirt

a
virgin
clay
material
and,
of
course,
over
the
years,
erosion
had
moved
back
and
eventually
uncorrect
it.
We
woulda
lost
ships,
filled
street
and
associated
utilities
associated
businesses.
It
was
a
very
difficult
repair
that
had
to
be
made.
We
no
option
just
absolutely
had
to
be
made.

I'd
say
the
first
thing.
The
major
challenge
is,
you
know,
storm
drain
repair,
dig
it
up
repaired
Shores.
Well,
we
just
to
get
in
and
make
the
repair
again
at
the
bottom
of
the
35
foot
vertical
slope.
You
had
to
work
safely,
numerous
things
with
all
about
and
the
idea
came
up
to
use
a
soil
nail
wall,
which
is
a
relatively
new
technology.

Soul.
Nails
were
basically
in
engineering
terms,
but
in
practical
terms,
you
go
in
and
put
the
horizonal
bill,
horizontal
hole
and,
in
this
case
of
some
inches
in
diameter,
about
20
foot,
deep
in
Sartori
fault,
rebar,
epoxy-coated,
rebar,
centered
in
place
and
then
come
back
and
inject
grout
to
hold
it
in
lock
it
into
the
dirt.
Okay,
the
number
of
rebar
the
number
of
holes
was
based
on
geotechnical
engineering
reports.
It
roughly
ended
up
to
be
a
grid
by
a
foot
on
center
of
spacing.

We
went
in
build
holes,
install
the
rebar,
grout
it
and
let
the
grout
set,
and
at
that
time,
after
certain
periods,
we
had
to
go
back
and
literally
test
a
certain
number
of
the
anchors
and
we
actually
put
a
load
test
on
them
recorded
to
assure
that
we
had
the
design
strength.
All
right,
so
you've
got
two
rebar
in
place
now,
there's
actually
a
cap
screwed
on
the
end
of
the
rebar
is
a
little
preparation
for
the
kaplan
end,
and
then
we
went
in
and
put
reinforcement
grid
around
each
rebar
on
the
faces
vertical
wall.

Then
we
put
a
welded
wire
fabric
vertically
across
the
face,
and
after
all
that
was
in
place
and
checked.
We
we
use
the
shot
cream
which
uses
people
with
that
shotcrete
as
a
gun.
I
like
you
making
a
pool,
but
in
this
case
the
process
a
little
bit
different,
the
strengths
or
a
lot
of
higher,
and
we
literally
shot
a
gunite
wall,
a
vertical
slab
and
that
vertical
slab
was
held
in
place
by
the
soil.

Replaced
it
is
the
old
taking
the
old
strokes
out
for
the
restructuring
now
we're
at
a
what
I
would
call
a
Shippo
challenge.
This
original
railroad
cut
would
Slave
Lake
and
in
honor
of
that
ship
ho
wanted
us
to
to
more
or
less
repeat
and
have
representative
of
how
it
looked
when
it
was
built
and
over
those
over
the
years,
there's
a
lot
of
different
vegetation
growing
up,
but
when
it
was
built
and
for
years
it
was
a
bear
plays
surface.

So
we
submitted
that
shippo
and
basically
said
we
could
match
the
texture
of
the
de
clay
with
a
pigment
in
the
shotcrete
and
they
agreed
you
know
and
from
result,
resulting
pictures.
We've
had
a
lot
of
good
reports
if
we
did
a
good
job,
I
think
our
contractor
did
a
good
job.
I,
don't
claim
any
Erfurt
on
that
he's
the
one
who
did
it
matching.

In
this
thing
there
were
90,
York,
Street
Bridge
was
closed
at
the
time,
so
we
had
double
the
traffic
on
Chesterfield
and
we
had
an
active
construction
site
with
trucks
coming
in
and
out.
So
it
was
a
very
difficult
job.
We
completed
it
in
three
months.
I
can't
very
good
contractor
a
very
good
design
team,
a
very
good
project
again.
A
A
lot
of
credit
does
go
to
you
as
the
project
manager
for
this,
in
the
coordination
of
everything
that
had
to
be
done
and
even
dealing
with
our
our
State
Archives
with
the
shippo
office
to
ensure
that
the
the
historical
accuracy
was
correct
with
the
red
place,
I
guess
dealing
with
the
red
play.
Bank
innocence
was
here
kind
of
a
double-edged
sword.
