A
Hi
and
welcome
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
names,
my
name
is
ron
edwards
and
I'm
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
for
the
ames
animal
shelter
and
animal
control
services.
Today
we
have
ellie
with
us
she's
our
only
dog
we
have
here
at
the
shelter
right
now.
She
is
actually
a
stray,
so
she's
not
available
for
adoption
right
now,
so
we're
hoping
to.
Maybe
the
owners
will
see
her
on
the
show
and
come
in
and
claim
her.
If
the
owners
don't
claim
her
by
this
coming
saturday,
the
12th
she
will
be
put
up
for
adoption.
A
We've
named
her
ellie.
She
came
in
with
a
microchip,
but
unfortunately
it
wasn't
registered
with
the
microchip
company.
So
we're
not
able
to
return
her
back
to
her
owners
as
quick
as
we'd
like
to
she
didn't
have
any
id
tags
or
callers.
So
we're
not
sure
who
she
belongs
to
seems
like
a
really
sweet
dog
she's,
a
purebred
sheba
in
you.
We
think
she's,
probably
about
a
year
old,
very
gentle,
very
sweet
dog
loves
running
out
the
yard
and
playing
with
the
staff.
A
A
And
our
next
shelter
guest
with
us
today
is
bella.
Mia
bellamia
came
to
us
as
a
stray.
She
didn't
have
any
identification,
no
tags,
no
collar,
no
microchip,
so
we
weren't
able
to
return
her
to
her
owner
she's
been
with
us
the
minimum
holding
time
now.
So
she
is
looking
for
her
own
forever
home
a
home.
That's
going
to
keep
her
indoors
and
allow
her
to
become
part
of
the
family.
A
A
Looking
for
her
for
a
new
forever
home,
she
does
have
all
of
her
claws
and,
as
I
stated
she's
ready
to
go
to
a
new
home,
we
think
she's
about
eight
months
old,
really,
sweet
nature
cats
so
come
on
down
and
take
a
look
at
bella
mia
here
at
the
ames
animal
shelter.
A
Here
we
have
lilo
lilo
is
an
owner
surrendered
cat
she's
about
a
year
old.
The
owner
couldn't
keep
her
anymore.
The
landlord
found
out
that
she
had
a
cat
in
the
apartment,
and
so
they
brought
lilo
here
for
us
to
find
a
new
home.
So
it's
really
really
important
when
you're
thinking
about
making
a
lifetime
commitment
to
a
shelter
pet,
make
sure
that
you're
allowed
to
have
pets
where
you
live,
and
also
you
want
to
think
in
the
future
too.
A
If
you
think
you're
going
to
be
moving
sometime
soon,
will
that
place
allow
pets
so
something
to
really
think
about,
because
we
don't
want
to
see
cats
like
lilo,
ending
up
in
shelters
because
they
have
no
place
to
go
so
lilo
is
looking
for
now,
a
new
forever
home.
She
has
all
of
her
claws.
A
She
hasn't
been
spayed
yet
so
we
will
get
her
spade
before
she
goes
home,
but
she
is
available
for
adoption
seems
to
be
a
pretty
gentle
nature
cat,
I'm
a
little
excited
here
in
the
room,
but
definitely
has
has
kind
of
calmed
down
and
got
used
to
this
environment
here
at
the
shelter
it's
kind
of
hard
on
them
when
they
come
from
a
home
environment
to
the
shelter
environment
so
come
on
down
and
take
a
look
at
lilo
she's
waiting
for
her
forever
home.
A
Okay-
and
here
we
have
marmalade
marmalade-
is
one
of
the
shelter
favorites.
Our
animal
control
officer,
really
just
loves
marmalade,
normally
was
brought
in
by
a
very
caring
family
as
a
stray
they've
been
trying
to
to
get
marmalade
for
quite
a
while,
and
they
noticed
that
marmalade
had
some
injuries.
A
We
took
a
marmalade
into
the
vet
hospital
and
they
had
to
do
quite
a
bit
of
work
on
him.
It
appears
that
he
got
into
a
fight
with
a
cat
that
was
outdoors
so
just
you
know
another
reason
why
cats
should
be
left
indoors
and
not
outside
allowed
to
roam
the
injuries
that
he
sustained
was
because
he
was
outdoors
he's
better.
Now
he
is
looking
for
his
forever
home.
We.
We
estimate
that
he's
about
two
years
old,
two
to
three
years
old.
A
We
still
have
his
cone
on
him
to
keep
him
comfortable
to
keep
him
from
trying
to
bother
his
leg
here,
where
he
sustained
most
of
the
injuries
again
he's
just
a
marmalade
is
a
really
sweet
cat
and
thank
you
to
the
family
who
brought
him
into
here
into
the
ames
animal
shelter.
So
we
could
give
him
the
treatment
that
he
needs
and
find
him
a
home
where
he's
going
to
be
kept
indoors,
so
marmalade
won't
have
any
more
injuries
like
he
has
again.
Marmalades
are
ready
to
be
adopted.
A
A
Well,
that's
it
for
the
animals
that
we're
showing
today
here
on
animals
and
ames,
make
sure
you
stop
by
the
shelter
that
was
just
a
sampling
of
the
cats
that
we
have
here
at
the
shelter.
That
was
the
only
dog
that
we
have
here
at
the
shelter
at
this
time,
but
keep
checking
back
with
us
our
website's
a
great
place
to
watch
and
see
what's
happening
here,
which
is
cityofames.org
animal
shelter.
I
also
want
to
spend
a
send
out
a
special
thank
you
to
the
volunteers
that
helped
us
for
the
veishea
service
project
day.
A
The
cat
kennels
and
the
new
cat
room
are
great.
The
cats
love
them.
The
volunteers,
love
and
the
staff,
love
them,
and
the
public
comments
that
we've
received
so
far
have
just
been
really
amazing.
We're
so
happy
to
see
now
that
the
cats
can
stretch
out
and
really
do
what
cats
do,
and
they
have
the
nice
beds
in
there.
A
New
litter
pans,
new
bowls
new
food,
water
dishes,
new
toys
and
we're
really
doing
everything
that
we
can
to
improve
the
conditions
for
the
cats
here
that
are
waiting
for
their
forever
home
and,
as
I
said
before,
don't
worry
we're
going
to
take
care
of
the
dogs
as
well
we're
going
to
make
improvements
to
the
dog
housing
areas
and
their
play
yards
too.
So
it's
not
just
about
the
cats,
but
come
take
a
look
at
the
shelter.
If
you
get
a
chance,
stop
by
the
shelter
see
what
we've
done
in
our
cat
area.
