A
Hello
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
names.
My
name
is
ron
edwards,
I'm
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
for
the
ames
animal
shelter
and
animal
control
program.
Our
special
co-host
today,
with
me
is
brian
phillips.
Brian
is
the
one
of
the
two
assistant
city
managers
here
for
the
city
of
ames,
so
really
excited
that
brian
could
be
here
and
took
time
out
of
his
very
busy
schedule
to
be
with
us
to
showcase
some
amazing
animals
that
we
have
available
for
adoption.
You
may
remember
brian.
A
He
actually
did
the
where's
brian
series
and
came
out
to
the
shelter
and
learned
how
to
take
care
of
the
animals
and
how
to
clean
the
cages
and
he's
moved
on
since
then,
and
now
he's
the
assistant
city
manager
so
really
excited
to
have
brian
here
today.
So
he's
going
to
show
us
two
dogs
and
one
cat
that
we
have
available
for
adoption.
So,
let's
meet
brian
and
some
of
our
furry
friends.
B
B
She
was
running
underneath
the
bridge
on
south
duff
for
about
three
and
a
half
weeks
before
the
staff
at
the
animal
control
facility
here
were
able
to
catch
her
with
a
live
humane
trap.
You
may
have
seen
some
of
bridget's
exploits
on
social
media
before
they
were
able
to
catch
her,
but
bridget
is
a
little
nervous
around
other
dogs.
B
She
is
going
to
need
a
home
with
a
very
secure
fenced
in
yard,
or
an
apartment
and
she's
always
going
to
need
to
be
on
a
leash
being
on
a
tie
out
out
in
the
yard
or
out
on
an
acreage
running
around
she's,
really
likely
to
take
off
and
be
difficult
or
impossible
to
catch
again,
and
we
don't
want
that
for
bridget.
Bridget
is
a
very,
very
nice
dog.
We've
made
friends
here
in
the
last
couple
of
minutes
and
she's
very
friendly,
especially
when
you
give
her
some
treats
yes,
hello.
B
B
Hi
everyone
we're
here
with
maya
maya,
came
to
the
shelter
as
an
owner
surrendered
dog.
The
children
in
the
household
were
not
able
to
be
kind
to
maya
and
so
maya
needed
to
be
surrendered.
The
dog,
so
maya
barks,
when
people
leave
likes
to
be
around
other
people,
come
here.
Come
here,
no,
not
on
me
up
here.
B
Up
there
we
go
good
job.
Okay,
sit,
sit,
stay
sit
here.
You
go
it's
right
here,
it's
right
here,
it's
the
same
one:
okay
maya
does
well
with
cats
and
other
dogs,
but
it
would
be
best
if
maya
was
in
a
home
that
doesn't
have
any
shared
walls
like
an
apartment
or
a
town
hall,
and
no
children
under
about
the
age
of
10,
because
they
can
scare
her.
B
B
She's
very
friendly,
loves
to
snuggle
and
be
with
you,
she's
purring,
for
me
here
just
being
here
for
a
few
minutes
and
she
would
be
a
great
cat
for
somebody,
who's
looking
for
a
relaxed,
couch,
companion
or
a
lap
warming
friend,
peppermint
has
all
of
her
claws,
and
one
thing
that's
important
to
know
about
the
shelter
here
is
that
if
you
adopt
a
cat,
the
shelter
staff
will
provide
free
nail
trims
for
your
cat
for
the
rest
of
their
lives.
So
that's
a
great
service.
B
B
B
So
if
you're
interested
in
meeting
peppermint,
you
can
make
an
appointment
and
submit
an
application
to
consider
adopting
peppermint
or
any
of
the
other
animals
here
at
the
shelter
the
animal
viewing
is
by
appointment.
Only
once
you've
submitted
your
application,
the
shelter
staff
will
reach
out
to
you
and
schedule
a
time
when
you
can
come
in
and
meet
any
of
the
animals
that
you
would
like
to
view.
B
B
B
And
just
on
a
personal
note,
I
wanted
to
mention
that
over
the
past
summer,
our
family
adopted
a
couple
of
kittens
from
the
animal
shelter
here
and
it
was
an
excellent
experience.
I
really
enjoyed
and
appreciated
how
kind
and
thoughtful
the
animal
shelter
staff
are
had
lots
of
opportunity
to
meet
the
kitties
and
get
to
know
them
and
ensure
that
they
were
going
to
be
in
the
right
home
and
the
shelter
staff
had
all
the
information
that
we
needed.
B
It
was
a
very
smooth
process,
so
can't
say
enough
about
how
great
the
staff
is
here
at
the
animal
shelter
and
the
facilities
and
the
and
the
animals
themselves.
So
we
encourage
you
to
give
them
a
call.
If
you
ever
have
any
questions
thanks
for
watching.
A
So
it's
just
great
to
see
her
here
and
being
such
an
amazing
dog
available
for
adoption
here
at
the
ames
animal
shelter.
So
you
can
view
all
of
our
animals
at
amesanimalshelter.org
and
see
what
we
have
available
for
adoption.
Make
sure
that
you
submit
an
adoption
application
before
you
come
down.
We
do
require
an
appointment
for
viewing
the
animals
and
come
take
a
look
and
see
what
we
have,
and
maybe
one
of
these
will
be
in
your
home
for
the
holidays.
Thank
you.
