A
Hello
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
aims.
My
name
is
Ron
Edwards
I'm,
the
animal
control
supervisor
for
the
Ames
animal
shelter
and
animal
control
program,
I'm
very
happy
to
show
you
some
exotics
that
we
have
today.
The
first
one
here
is
Simon
Simon
is
a
very
mellow
guinea
pig.
He
was
surrendered
to
us
by
his
owners
because
they
were
moving
and
could
not
take
him
where
they
were
going,
which
is
very
unfortunate
for
Simon.
A
Here
he's
about
three
years
old
according
to
the
owners-
and
he
is
very,
very
gentle-
he
probably
hasn't
had
a
whole
lot
of
handling,
so
you'll
want
to
handle
him
a
lot
to
get
him
used
to
your
family.
If
you
consider
adopting
him,
guinea
pigs
are
in
some
ways
a
lot
like
rabbits.
They
do
require
special
diet,
a
special
food
and
special
housing
areas.
You
don't
want
to
stick
them
in
a
real
small
cage.
They
have
exercised
and
needs,
and
you
know
other
needs
that
need
to
be
met.
Just
like
the
rabbits
doing.
A
Our
next
guest
is
going
to
be
a
rabbit
that
we
have
available
for
adoption.
So
Simon
just
came
to
us
a
few
days
ago.
He
is
a
male
about
three
years
old
guinea
pigs
are
actually
originally
from
South
America,
so
it's
a
pet
that
we've
received
from
South
America
I'm
sure
that
Simon
here
was
born
in
the
United
States,
but
they're
originally
from
South
America.
A
They
make
great
pets,
but
it's
something
you
want
to
do
a
lot
of
work
and
do
a
lot
of
information
gathering
on
because
they
are
very
special
pets
and
they
do
need
special
homes.
So
it's
one
that
they
do
need
constant
cleaning
in
their
cage.
They
need
to
be
cared
for,
fed
appropriate
diets,
so
they're,
very,
very
special
creatures
and
again
very
gentle
they're,
not
it's
very
rare
for
them
to
bite,
although
they
can.
A
So
you
want
to
be
very
careful
with
small
children,
make
sure
that
they're
not
hurting
them
or
squeezing
them,
but
they
are
pretty
general
gentle
creatures
and
you
can
see
he's
not
very
active,
but
he
sure
is
active
inside
his
play
area.
As
if
you're
interested
in
meeting
Simon
come
on
down
to
the
animal
shelter,
we
love
to
introduce
you
to
them.
A
And
our
next
guest
today
is
Jafar.
Jafar
came
in
to
us
as
a
stray
and
is
looking
for
a
home.
We
believe
he's
a
young
rabbit
so
probably
somewhere
in
the
range
of
a
year
old,
or
so
it's
really
hard
to
tell
with
rabbits
their
teeth
constantly
grow,
whereas
with
dogs
and
cats,
we
look
at
their
teeth
to
try
to
get
an
estimate
on
age.
So
it's
really
hard
to
tell
with
rabbits,
although
our
guess
would
be
that
this
one
here
is
a
is
a
young
bunny.
We
believe
that
he's
probably
a
Rex
mix.
A
He
was
just
eating
his
his
kale
here
before
I
took
him
so
I
figured
he
might
want
to
eat
this
on
camera,
but
he's
probably
too
curious
about
the
cameras
and
the
lights
and
everything
that's
going
on
to
eat
kale.
But
it
is
a
good
opportunity
to
talk
about
rabbits
and
the
importance
of
feeding
them,
an
appropriate
diet.
They
cannot
live
on
rabbit
pellets
alone.
They
need
to
have
lots
of
these
green
leafy
vegetables.
Cilantro
is
another
one
that
they
really
like.
A
Let's
show
you
me
a
good
site,
the
fun
side,
so
cilantro
all
different
types
of
lettuces
and
things
that
you
can
feed
the
green
leafy
things
are
the
best
for
them
have
a
lot
of
vitamins
and
things
like
that,
as
I
always
do
I
always
refer
potential
adopters
to
rabbit
org.
It's
an
amazing
website,
that's
put
together
by
volunteers
from
the
house,
rabbit
society
and
they
provide
a
lot
of
information
on
how
to
properly
groom
them,
how
to
provide
housing
for
them.
The
appropriate
diets.
A
lot
of
different
things
like
that.
A
So
again,
a
really
good
website
rabbit
org
real
easy
to
remember,
but
it
provides
you
with
information.
I
believe
that
website
also
has
information
about
guinea
pigs.
So
if
you're
interested
in
Simon-
and
you
can
also
look
on
there
for
some
resources-
I
believe
there's
at
least
some
links
to
some
other
guinea
pig
resources.
A
So
Jafar
here
again
we're
estimating
he's
about
a
year
old.
He
has
not
been
neutered,
yet
we
will
make
sure
that
he
gets
neutered
before
he's
adopted.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
every
animal
that
leaves
the
shelter
here
at
least
every
dog
cat
and
domestic
bunny
is
spayed
or
neutered
before
they
leave
the
Ames
animal
shelter.
So
that's
really
important
to
us.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
we're
reducing
the
pet
overpopulation,
not
creating
more
so
again.
These
leafy
vegetables
here,
like
this
kale,
is
very
important
to
Jafar
and
all
the
bunnies
out
there.
A
So
if
you're
interested
in
adopting
Jafar
come
on
down
to
the
aim,
shelter
do
some
research
first
at
rabbit,
org
and
if
you're
still
interested
and
something
that
you
can
commit
to.
You
know
it
could
be
up
to
a
10-year
commitment
for
some
of
these
bunnies
come
on
down
to
the
shelter
we'd,
be
happy
to
introduce
you
to
his
family,
to
your
family.
A
And
our
next
guest
today
is
Lucius.
Lucius
came
to
us
as
an
owner
surrender.
Actually
these
are
some
of
the
cases
that
are
really
hard
for
us
to
see
here
at
the
shelter
he
is
a
14
year
old
cat
that
was
surrendered
because
he
had
some
improper
going
outside
of
the
litter
box
in
the
home.
There
was
a
situation
where
some
dogs
were
in
the
home
and
they
were
sent
to
boarding
and
they
came
back
and
then
all
of
a
sudden
that
started
up
so
it
may
be
stress-related.
A
A
He
is
front
declawed,
so
it's
absolutely
important
that
he
stays
indoors
and
is
an
indoor
only
cat,
so
he
lived
with
the
family
for
a
long
time
and
now
he's
looking
for
a
forever
home,
and
the
thing
that
makes
us
really
hard
for
the
shelter
staff
to
to
to
see
is
that
they
lived
in
a
home
for
so
many
years
and
now
they're.
You
know
in
a
metal
cage
and
it's
really
hard
to
see
that
so
we're
really
hoping
that
someone's
going
to
open
up
their
home
and
their
heart
to
lucious
at
14
years
old.
A
It's
going
to
be
hard
he's
not
going
to
have
as
many
people
looking
to
adopt
him
as
they
would
a
kitten.
Of
course.
Kitten
season
is
here
upon
us,
so
he's
going
to
start
competing
with
a
bunch
of
kittens,
but,
as
I've
always
said
on,
our
shows.
Don't
worry.
Lucius
will
stay
here
until
he
gets
adopted,
so
we
have
absolutely
no
time
limits
whatsoever.
A
So
if
it
takes
six
months
or
longer
to
get
him
adopted
we're
going
to
make
sure
that
we
find
a
home
for
Lucius
where
he
can
live
out
the
rest
of
his
life.
You
know
14
is
an
old
cat,
but
you
know
they
could
easily
have
you
know
another
seven
years
left
to
live
six
seven
years
we
just
really
never
know,
and
since
he
doesn't
have
any
medical
problems
at
this
point
you
know
he
may
very
well
live
to
20
years
old
and
that's
what
we're
hoping
here
for
Lucius.
So
very
gentle
cat.
A
He
actually
has
quite
a
bit
of
energy.
This
he
was
playing
in
the
room
before
we
cleared
it
out
for
the
taping
today
and
he
actually
has
quite
a
bit
of
energy
and
spunk
left
in
him.
So
if
you
are
interested
in
Lucius
here,
because
he
has
a
long-haired
cat
he's
going
to
be
need
constant
brushing,
he
does
have
a
few
little
spots
where
the
hair
is
matted
up
a
bit.
But
you
know
that's
a
good
bonding
time.
A
You
can
sit
there
and
watch
your
favorite
TV
show
including
animals
and
aims
and
sit
there
and
pet
him
and
give
him
loving
and
brushing
him
at
the
same
time,
and
you
can
see
that
he's
enjoying
it,
even
with
all
the
lights
and
the
camera.
He
is
definitely
enjoying
all
this
attention
here.
So
if
you're
interested
in
him
come
on
down
to
the
shoulder
we'd
love
to
introduce
you
to
him.
A
And
our
final
guest
for
the
day
is
Kaylee.
Kaylee
came
in
to
us
as
a
stray,
and
we
didn't
have
anybody
come
forward
to
claim
her
we're
estimating
she's
about
a
six
month
old.
She
is
a
female.
She
was
just
recently
spayed,
so
she
is
ready
now
to
find
her
forever
home
and
a
forever
home.
It's
going
to
keep
her
indoors
and
keep
her
safe.
A
She,
of
course
didn't
have
any
microchip
or
any
kind
of
identification
didn't,
have
a
tag
on
or
anything
for
us
to
identify
and
known
her
and
get
her
back
to
them
so
she's
available
for
adoption.
Now
she
again,
she
was
just
recently
spade
a
six-month-old,
so
she's
very
much
like
a
kitten.
One
of
those
are
gonna,
have
a
lot
of
energy
and
run
all
throughout
the
house
and
try
to
climb
up
on
counters
and
curtains
and
do
everything
that
kittens
just
love
to
do.
She.
A
We
have
a
picture
of
a
cat,
that's
up
there
on
the
wall
and
I
think
she
just
saw
that
cat
again,
very
playful,
very
active
young
kitten
here,
lots
of
energy.
So,
if
you're
interested
in
adopting
a
kitten
and
again,
this
is
kitten
season.
So
for
the
next
few
months,
we'll
probably
have
lots
of
kittens
for
adoption,
but
kayla
is
just
one
of
them:
she's,
a
beautiful
buff,
color
short-haired
cat
here
with
lots
of
energy
for
a
home
that
has
wants
to
have
lots
of
fun
with
the
new
kitty
to
add
to
the
family.
A
Thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
aims.
We're
really
happy
that
you've
tuned
in
to
see
the
animals
that
we
have
available
for
adoption.
Our
last
dogs
got
adopted
late
last
week
and
we
have
one
dog
right
now
that
the
owner
should
be
coming
to
pick
up
today.
Otherwise
we
will
show
our
dogs
just
a
reminder
to
people
that
are
watching
this
show.
If
you
stay
on
our
website,
which
is
aims,
animal
shelter
org,
you
can
always
see
updated
pictures
and
information
of
animals
that
are
here
at
the
shelter.
A
It's
updated
every
15
minutes.
So
as
soon
as
we
pick
up
an
animal
in
the
field
or
ones
brought
to
us,
we
have
a
picture
up
on
our
website
within
15
minutes
and
that
really
helps
people
that
have
lost
their
pets
to
come
in
and
look
for
them
so
make
sure
you're
clicking
on
lost
pets
and
also
pets
available
for
adoption.
A
You
can
kind
of
get
a
glimpse
of
all
the
animals
that
are
here
at
the
Ames
animal
shelter
and,
of
course,
we
always
welcome
our
visitors
and
community
members
to
give
us
a
column
or
be
happy
to
talk
about
the
animals
that
we
have
here
at
the
shelter
and
will
encourage
you
to
come
on
down
and
meet
them
in
person
and
see
if
it
might
be
a
right
fit
for
your
family.
Thanks
for
watching.
