A
Hello
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
aims.
My
name
is
Ron
Edwards
I'm,
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
for
the
Ames
animal
shelter
and
animal
control
program.
Our
first
guest
with
us
here
today
is
royal
royal.
Is
a
Havana
rabbit
we
believe
royal
is
a
young
bunny
came
into
us
as
a
stray,
and
we've
had
no
one
come
forward
looking
for
him
and
as
with
most
bunnies,
there's
no
way
to
put
identification
on
them.
A
Although
bunny
rabbits
can
have
microchips,
he
was
scanned
and
we
don't
have
a
microchip
in
him.
That
is
one
way
to
make
sure
that
if
your
bunnies
ever
get
loose,
that
you
have
a
way
to
identify
them
so
consider
putting
a
microchip
and
your
bunny.
If
you
have
a
bunny
at
home,
if
you
don't
have
a
bunny
at
home,
you
might
want
to
consider
adopting
royal.
We
always
suggest
that
you
do
some
research
before
you
consider
adopting
one
of
these
little
creatures,
they're
very
unique
pets.
A
They
do
require
special
treatment
and
and
I
talked
about
this,
and
every
show
where
we
have
a
bunny
rabbit.
Org
is
an
excellent
resource
and
website
that
we
would
love
people
to
do
some
research
on
it
talks
about
what
it
is
to
have
a
house
bunny
and,
of
course
we
want
all
of
our
bunnies
to
live
indoors
with
the
family.
Not
outdoors.
A
The
weather
here
in
Iowa
is
severely
extreme
in
the
summers
and
in
the
winters,
and
those
conditions
are
just
not
appropriate
for
a
bunny
to
stick
it
in
a
hutch
outside
so
lots
of
information
on
the
website
at
rabbit
org,
and
we
also
have
information
here
at
the
shelter
and
appropriate
housing
that
we
can
show
you
what's
the
appropriate
environment
to
house
a
bunny
in
we'll
also
talk
about
the
appropriate
foods
to
feed
them
what's
important
in
their
diet.
I
have
some
it's
Italian
parsley
here.
A
A
Interestingly
enough,
you
don't
want
to
overfeed
a
rabbit
carrots.
You
only
want
to
give
them
a
little
bit,
not
too
much
carrots,
but
a
lot
of
these
leafy
green
vegetables
are
really
good
for
them.
So
again
this
is
royal.
We
believe
he
is
a
young
bunny.
He
will
be
neutered
before
he
is
adopted
into
his
new
forever
home
and
also
again,
like
I,
said
we
want
to
consider
putting
a
microchip
in
royal
to
make
sure
that
if
he
does
get
loose
somehow
that
we
can
always
return
him
back
to
his
family.
A
And
our
next
guest
today
is
fortune
fortune
is
a
stray
kitten
that
came
to
us
and
has
been
with
us
for
a
little
while
now
and
beautiful
black
coat
here
and
you'll
kind
of
notice,
a
theme
for
today's
animals.
These
are
all
going
to
be
animals
that
are
black
in
color
and
the
next
guest
sally
has
a
little
bit
of
white
to
change
up
the
coloring
a
bit.
A
But
it's
interesting
that
there's
been
some
studies
and
animal
shelters
that
the
black
kittens
and
even
the
black
cats
have
a
harder
time
finding
a
home
than
others,
and
it
may
just
be
that
they
blend
into
their
surroundings,
could
be
some
old
superstitions
out
there,
but
they
are
just
great
cats.
We
happen
to
have
a
few
at
home
in
my
home
and
they're,
just
great,
very
loving
cats,
they're,
really
no
different.
The
color
of
the
cat
doesn't
make
a
difference
on
its
personality,
so
we
hear
people
looking
for
a
certain
color
cat.
A
We
like
to
steer
them
towards
just
looking
at
all
the
cats,
because
each
one
has
a
different
personality,
and
especially
these
kittens
and
actually
he's
a
pretty
relaxed
here.
Fortune
is
a
neutered
male.
He
is
available
for
adoption
now
at
the
Ames.
Animal
shelter
and
fortunate
has
been
unfortunate
to
see
his
buddies
and
his
kennel
get
adopted
and
he's
still
sitting
there.
So
we
know
that
he
gets
along
with
a
lot
of
different
kittens,
because
he's
had
a
lot
of
different
roommates
he's.
A
Ceo
call
me
is
for
a
kitten
he's
about
four
months
old,
as
I
said,
his
his
litter
mate,
not
his
littermates,
but
his
kennel
mates
that
lived
with
him
in
the
kennel
have
all
been
adopted
and
I.
Think
three
of
them
have
been
adopted.
Well,
fortune
is
still
sitting
here
at
the
shelter.
So
a
beautiful
black
kit
he's
got
beautiful
black
coloring
here
he
does
have
some
little
white
hairs
throughout
that
kind
of
gives
him
a
little
silver
effect
there,
but
he
is
just
he's
actually
a
lot
of
energy,
believe
it
or
not.
A
I
think
he's
just
enjoying
the
petting
and
they're
relaxing
here
in
this
environment.
Although
was
running
around
playing
with
the
new
kennel
mate
that
he
has
right
now,
but
we'd
really
like
to
see
fortune
get
adopted,
it's
his
turn,
he's
earned
it
and
we
don't
want
him
to
be
growing
up
here
at
the
Ames
animal
shelter.
We
provide
a
nice
environment
for
him,
but
it's
not
home,
and
we
want
to
make
sure
that
these
guys
find
a
great
home
again
about
four
months
old.
He
has
already
been
neutered
he's
been
given
his
initial
vaccinations.
A
So
all
you
need
to
do
is
to
provide
him
some
love.
He
will
need
some
rabies.
Vaccinations
I
mean
he's
about
old
enough
for
that
now,
but
just
provide
him
I
love
or
some
love
forever
home
and
a
safe
place
to
be
indoors
where
he
can
be
away
from
dangers.
He
does
have
all
of
his
claws
and,
as
I
mentioned
on,
almost
every
show
I
believe
that
we
want
to
make
sure
that
they
stay.
A
That
way,
pause
come
with
claws
and
we
want
to
make
sure
that
all
the
cats
that
are
adopted
here
keep
their
claws.
Just
a
reminder.
We
do
provide
free
nail
trims
for
life.
So
if
you
were
to
adopt
any
of
the
cats
here
at
the
Ames
animal
shelter
that
have
their
claws,
you
can
bring
them
in
at
any
time
and
just
give
us
a
call
and
we
will
trim
their
nails
for
free.
There
is
absolutely
no
charge
whatsoever
for
doing
that.
That's
our
commitment
to
these
guys
to
keep
their
claws.
A
A
She
was
in
her
adoptive
home
for
about
four
months
and
unfortunately,
sadly
like
to
claw
the
furniture
and
that
just
wasn't
going
to
work
for
the
adopter
and
she
did
try
a
few
things
to
get
Sally
accustomed
to
that,
and
it
just
didn't
work
out
so
Sally's
the
and
we're
going
to
let
her
Sally
go
ahead
and
play
on
the
floor.
Sally
came
into
us
originally
as
a
stray
was
adopted,
and
then
now
she's
been
back
for
a
hundred
and
fifty-one
days
as
of
today.
A
So
altogether
she's
been
at
the
shelter
living
in
a
kennel
for
over
a
year,
and
that's
just
a
really
sad
thing
to
see.
We
don't
like
that
too,
for
any
of
the
animals
to
be
living
in
a
kennel
for
long
periods
of
time,
we're
absolutely
committed
to
waiting
until
we
find
that
forever
home
for
Sally.
It's
going
to
understand
that
she
does
have
some
behavior
challenges.
A
She
will
scratch
the
furniture,
so
you
want
to,
you
know,
have
an
environment
where
maybe
that's
not
going
to
be
a
big
issue,
or
you
know
where
you
make
sure
you
provide
her
with
lots
of
other
things
and
to
scratch
on.
We
understand
that
the
adopter
did
try
some
of
that,
but
it
just
didn't
work
for
her
in
that
environment,
but
sally
has
some
unique,
coloring
and
I'll
try
and
see.
A
If
we
can
show
that
later
on
the
camera,
she
does
have
these
white
spots
kind
of
threw
out
her
fur
towards
the
lower
end
of
her
body
there,
but
a
sweet
cat.
She
does
not
want
to
be
with
other
cats.
If
you
have
other
cat,
she
is
not
going
to
be
an
option.
She
and
that's
part
of
the
reason.
She's
scared
in
this
room
if
she
smells
the
other
cats
and
that's
why
she
got
a
little
scared
and
wanted
to
get
down
off
the
post
here.
A
But
she
is
a
sweet
cat,
she's
very
loving
when
she
it's
just
her
and
her
her,
and
she
would
make
a
great
addition
to
a
home
she's
about
four
years
old,
she's
already
spayed
and
of
course,
what
we
want
to
avoid.
Is
someone
that's
going
to
take
her
home
and
declaw
her?
It's
important
that
we,
you
know,
keep
her
nails
again,
will
provide
those
free
nail
trims
for
life
and
I.
Think
that's
the
end,
we're
trying
to
find
that
best
environment
for
someone.
A
This
can
understand
that
she
will
scratch
the
furniture
so
just
kind
of
keep
that
in
mind
with
Sally,
but
she's
lived
in
a
kennel
for
over
a
year
and
we
want
to
try
to
get
her
into
her
forever
home
soon.
So,
if
you
think
you
might
have
the
right
environment
for
Sally
come
on
down
to
the
aim,
shelter
and
we'd
love
to
show
you
to
her.
A
And
that's
our
show
for
today
we
appreciate
everyone
that
watches
the
show
and
helps
to
share
these
animals
with
your
friends
on
Facebook
Twitter.
Anyway,
you
have
to
share
these
animals
to
help
get
them
the
advertising
that
they
need
to
help
find
them
their
forever
homes.
Again,
Sally's
been
with
us
for
over
a
year
living
in
a
kennel.
So
please
consider
adopting
Sally
talk
to
your
friends
about
Sally.
We
want
to
find
her
a
forever
home
as
soon
as
we
can.
Thank
you
for
watching.
