A
Hi
welcome
to
animals
and
aims.
My
name
is
ron
edwards
and
I'm
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
for
the
ames
animal
shelter
and
animal
control
division.
We're
very
excited
to
introduce
you
to
some
animals
here
today
that
are
available
for
adoption
at
the
shelter.
The
first
one
that
we
have
here
is
virgil.
A
Virgil
came
into
us
as
a
stray
and
was
not
claimed
by
the
owners.
I
didn't
have
a
microchip
and
didn't
have
a
caller
and
no
lost
report,
so
we
weren't
able
to
find
virgil's
owners
so
now
he's
looking
for
a
new
family.
All
of
his
own,
very
sweet
dog
he's
definitely
had
some
training.
He
will
sit
for
you,
he's
being
really
calm
right
now,
just
a
real
gentle
dog.
He
is
a
neuter
male,
we're
estimating
that
he's,
probably
about
two
years
old.
A
We
think
that
he's
kind
of
a
german
shorthair
pointer
mix-
maybe
he
might
have
some
hound
in
here,
but
just
a
real
nice
dog-
that
I
think,
would
make
a
family
very
happy.
We
have
had
him
with
shown
him
with
some
kids
and
a
family,
and
he
did
really
well
even
with
a
really
small
child.
So
if
you
have
children
at
home
and
are
looking
for
a
first
pet,
virgil
might
be
the
one
for
you
come
on
down
and
take
a
look
at
virgil
here
at
the
ames
animal
shelter.
A
Hi-
and
here
we
have
two
birds
that
are
available
for
adoption:
these
are
parakeets.
They
are
required
to
be
adopted
together
they
are
a
bonded
pair.
We
have
zeus
and
gracie
beautiful
parakeets
they're,
not
hand
tamed,
but
they
have
lived
with
each
other
for
six
years,
they're
about
six
years
old
and
they've
lived
with
each
other,
their
entire
life.
So
we
want
to
make
sure
that
they
continue
to
live
out
the
rest
of
their
lives
together
very
easy
to
maintain.
A
A
And
here
we
have
with
us:
mario
mario
is
a
domestic
short-haired
kitten
with
lots
of
energy.
As
all
kittens
do
came
in
as
an
owner
surrender,
we
have
a
litter
of
three
kittens.
They
look
really
similar
and
we'll
have
on
moon,
which
is
another
sibling
to
mario
here,
which
will
look
very
similar
just
neuter
today.
Well,
you
wouldn't
think
he
is
available
for
adoption.
A
He
is
about
three
months
old
and
again,
the
first
kitten
that
we
have
here.
So
this
is
the
first
of
the
kittens
that
we'll
see
during
the
kitten
season.
That's
typically
when
we
have
all
the
kittens
coming
in
here
to
the
shelter
that
are
going
to
be
looking
for
their
forever
homes
again
about
three
months
old
he's
a
neutered,
male
and
he's
ready
to
be
adopted
today
so
come
on
down
and
take
a
look
at
him.
A
And
here
we
have
frankie
frankie
was
an
owner
of
surrender,
he's
about
two
years
old.
The
owners
were
moving
and
were
not
able
to
take
frankie
to
the
new
apartment
they
were.
He
was
they
were
moving
to,
as
I
mentioned
before,
it's
so
important
to
make
sure
that
as
our
lives
change
that
you
can
always
keep
take
your
pets
with
you,
so
making
sure
that
you
know
if
you
plan
on
moving
or
something
that
you're
able
to
find
a
place
that
allows
pets
it's
difficult
but
they're
out
there.
A
Another
thing
that
we
wanted
to
point
out
with
frankie
is
the
soft
paws.
You
see
these
really
bright,
colored
nails
that
are
on
him.
Those
are
not
painted.
Those
are
actually
put
on
his
nails,
so
he's
not
scratching
furniture
things
like
that,
so
an
alternative
to
decline.
A
A
You
saw
the
two
parakeets
today
they
really
need
a
great
home,
so
we're
hoping
to
find
them
a
home
together
and
just
come
down
and
take
a
look
at
all
the
animals
that
we
have
remember.
That's
just
a
sampling
of
what
we
have
again.
Thank
you
for
watching
the
show
today
and
just
want
to
leave
you
with
one
final
note.
We're
often
asked
how
long
animals
stay
here
at
the
ames
animal
shelter
and
our
policy
is
that
we
keep
all
adoptable
animals
until
they
find
their
new
forever
homes.
