A
Hello
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
Ames.
My
name
is
Ron
Edwards
and
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
for
the
Ames,
Animal,
Shelter
and
animal
control
program.
Our
first
guest
with
us
today
is
a
very
special
kitty.
Her
name
is
Elise
she's
gonna
talk
to
us
there
for
a
minute.
Elise
was
actually
adopted
to
us
when
she
was
a
kitten
just
a
little
bitty
thing,
and
now
she
is
three
years
old.
She
is
a
spayed
female.
She
is
current
on
vaccinations,
rabies
feel
and
Akemi
a
feline
AIDS
tested.
A
The
challenge
with
her
is
that
the
adopter
unfortunately
had
her
declawed
in
the
front,
so
she
is,
and
we've
actually
put
food
here
to
keep
her
occupied
because
she's
a
cat
that
easily
gets
overstimulated
and
has
been
known
to
bite.
This
is,
unfortunately,
one
of
those
things
that
happen.
When
cats
are
declawed,
when
they
don't
have
that
defense
mechanism,
they
tend
to
bite
more.
She
is
just
a
classic
example
of
what
can
happen
again,
not
always
there's
always
someone
out
there.
That's
gonna
say
my
cats
were
declawed
and
they
never
bit.
A
But
she
is
a
perfect
example,
so
we've
got
her
here,
eating
her
food
she's,
one
of
those
cats
that
were
looking
for
an
experienced
home,
someone
that
understands
cat
behavior
understands
when
she's
had
enough
that
it's.
When
you
leave
her
alone,
you
don't
force
her
to
meet
new
people.
You
don't
force
her
for
petting
and
loving
until
she
is
ready
for
it
and
when
she's
done,
she's
gonna
give
you
that
signal
that
she's
done
and
you
just
leave
her
alone.
So
again,
she
is
an
experienced
home.
A
Only
absolutely
no
children
and
again
we'd
want
to
talk
to
people
and
make
sure
they
understand
that
she
is
going
to
be
a
kitty
that
you're
gonna
want
to
make
sure
when
people
come
over
to
visit
that
you
have
her
isolated
from
them.
So
she's
not
meeting
new
people
all
the
time.
It's
very
scary
for
her.
She
knows
she
doesn't
have
claws
for
a
defense
mechanism
on
the
front
paws.
So
again,
you're
gonna
see
a
different
reaction
with
her
than
you
would
with
a
lot
of
cats.
So
she
has
a
beautiful
tabby
kitty.
A
You
can
see
there
she's
just
really
enjoying
her
wet
food
they're,
keeping
her
distracted
while
we
do
this
show.
So,
if
you're
interested
here
in
this
very
special
Kitty,
beautiful
Kitty
with
beautiful
eyes,
hopefully
you
can
see
those
in
the
picture
or
in
the
camera.
If
we
get
a
chance
to
view
those
but
I,
definitely
a
very
special
Kitty
that
needs
a
special
home.
So
if
you're
interested
in
Elise
contact
games,
animal
shelter
come
on
down
here,
we
are
again
looking
for
a
very
special
home.
Absolutely
no
children
and
experienced
adopter.
A
And
our
next
guest
today
is
Mahoney.
Mahoney
is
a
neuter
male.
He
was
not
neutered
when
he
came
here
to
us,
but
we've
had
him
neutered
since
he's
been
here.
He
is
about
two
and
a
half
years
old.
Is
our
estimate.
He
is
just
a
beautiful
and
I
have
to
say.
Probably
my
favorite
kitty
right
now
that
we
have
here
at
the
shelter,
don't
tell
all
the
rest
of
them
that,
but
just
a
very
sweet
kitty
he's
actually
very
talkative,
he's
being
a
little
quiet.
A
Now
cuz
he
got
the
lights
on
him
and
the
cameras
rolling,
and
this
was
been
a
little
more
on
the
shy
side,
but
he's
just
one
of
those
that
when
you
open
up
his
kennel,
he
likes
to
go
up
on
your
chest
and
just
kind
of
hang
out
with
you.
But
just
a
beautiful
cat
got
some
very
unique
markings
here,
some
of
those
large
swirls
and
tabby
stripes,
and
because
he
was
neutered
a
little
bit
later
in
life.
A
A
He
has
been
tested
for
feline,
leukemia
and
FIV.
He
is
negative
for
both
of
those.
So
that's
great
news.
He
has
had
his
rabies
vaccinations,
his
feline
distemper
vaccination
and
dewormed
treated
for
fleas
and
ready
to
go
he's
also
microchipped,
as
all
of
our
animals
are
here,
so
he
is
a
kitty
that
is
ready
to
find
that
forever
home.
A
Of
course
we
want
to
make
sure
that's
a
forever
home,
it's
going
to
be
indoors
and
of
course
we
absolutely
don't
want
to
have
a
situation
like
a
lease
where
he
has
declawed
and
ends
up
being
a
biter,
or
you
know
a
cat
that
somewhat
we're
determined
is
not
adoptable
and
you
know
putting
him
outside
or
something
like
that,
but
he
is
just
he's:
gonna
try
and
get
a
comfortable
spot
here.
He
is
just
a
lover
for
a
kitty
and
would
make
just
an
absolute
amazing
cat
for
a
family.
A
A
And
our
last
two
guests
today
are
the
neverending
energy,
kitties,
kittens
Arielle
and
Aurora
Arielle
is
the
black
and
white
one
here
and
Aurora.
Is
this
one
here,
the
gray,
tabby
and
white?
These
guys
are
actually
the
last
two
remaining
kittens
from
the
litter
that
was
born
in
a
foster
home
and
just
an
amazing
foster
home.
A
A
So
we
do
want
to
get
these
guys
adopted
together
if
we
can
as
a
bonded
pair,
they
are
sisters,
of
course,
and
again,
just
a
whole
lot
of
energy.
Kittens
are
so
much
fun,
they
get
into
everything,
they
claim
up
curtains,
they
climb
on
couches
they
climb
on
counters
and
all
that
fun
stuff
and
that's
just
part
of
being
a
pet
parent,
and
that
happens
in
all
of
our
houses
and
if
you've
ever
had
kittens
before.
You
know
exactly
what
I'm
talking
about
so
again.
A
These
is
Ariel
and
Aurora
available
for
adoption
here
at
the
Ames
Animal
Shelter
they've
had
all
of
their
current
vaccinations
for
their
age-appropriate
vaccinations,
they're
too
young
for
rabies
vaccinations
at
this
point.
Otherwise
they
are
ready
to
go,
they've
already
been
spayed
and,
of
course,
they
have
all
their
claws,
and
we
want
to
make
sure
that
every
home
that
we
adopt
to
keeps
those
claws
so
important
to
these
little
guys.
We
don't
want
to
change
the
way
that
they
were
made
because
they
were
made
perfect
and
we
want
to
keep
them
that
way.
A
Well,
that's
our
show
for
today
we
want
to
thank
everybody
for
watching
and
remind
everybody
with
these
amazing
cat
adoptions
that
we
have
here,
that
it
includes
free
nail
trims
for
life,
so
the
kitties
that
have
their
nails.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
they
keep
those
nails.
We
will
trim
those
for
the
rest
of
their
life.
They
have
age-appropriate
vaccinations.
So
if
they're
young,
like
those
two
that
you
just
met,
they'll,
have
their
initial
feline
distemper
vaccinations
now
they're
running
all
over
the
room
having
a
great
time.
A
That's
what
they
want
to
do
is
to
get
down.
They
will
be
tested
for
a
feline,
leukemia
feline
AIDS
be
dewormed
flea
treatment.
They
will
also
go
home
with
a
microchip.
So
all
of
that
our
cat
adoptions
are
only
60
dollars
and
it
really
is
quite
a
deal
for
everything
you
get
with
these
cat
adoptions,
so
they're,
just
amazing
little
creatures
here
and
we're
so
happy
to
be
able
to
care
for
them
and
make
sure
that
they
find
the
best
homes
possible
want
to.
A
Let
everybody
know
that
once
again,
all
of
our
dogs
have
been
adopted.
So
when
you
have
everybody
keep
an
eye
on
our
website
and
also
our
Facebook
page,
so
Ames
Animal,
Shelter,
org
and
then
facebook.com
Ames,
Animal
Shelter
for
updates,
hopefully
we'll
be
getting
some
new
dogs
in
from
the
Joplin
Humane
Society.
It's
our
partner,
shelter
that
we
work
with
when
they're
overcrowded
with
dogs.
A
We
bring
them
here
for
adoption,
so
great
life
saving
program
that
we're
very
proud
of
so
keep
an
eye
on
our
social
media
and
our
website
for
new
incoming
arrivals,
especially
with
our
dogs.
But
in
the
meantime
we
got
lots
of
cats
that
need
their
forever
homes.
So
come
on
down
to
the
Ames
Animal
Shelter
we'd
love
to
match
you
up
with
one
of
our
beautiful
critters
that
we
have
here.
