A
Hi
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
ames,
my
name
is
ron
edwards,
I'm
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
for
the
ames
animal
shelter
and
animal
control
program.
Today's
show
is
going
to
be
all
about
cats.
We
took
in
eight
cats
from
our
partners
at
the
animal
rescue
league
of
iowa,
who
are
really
starting
to
see
an
increase
in
the
number
of
cats
coming
into
their
facility.
A
A
He
is
part
of
the
eight
that
you're
going
to
meet
today
that
we're
a
transfer
from
the
animal
rescue
league
of
iowa.
You
can
see
here.
He
is
just
loving
that
attention
he's
getting
there
from
kathy
kathy
is
our
full-time
animal
control
officer
and
our
star
employee
here
at
the
ames
animal
shelter
so
so
proud
to
have
her
on
the
team
taking
care
of
all
the
animals.
A
And
our
next
cat
here
is
dean,
a
beautiful
brown
tabby,
those
beautiful
stripes
on
his
head.
There
he's
also
about
two
years
old.
He
is
a
neutered
male
again
was
also
transferred
from
the
animal
rescue
league
of
iowa.
So
this
is
one
solid
tom
kitty.
He
you
can
see
the
big
jowls
there
on
his
head
and
that's
from
being
neutered
later
in
life
and
he'll
stay
that
way
forever.
A
But
we
think
it
really
adds
some
little
extra
to
him
and
he's
just
a
beautiful
cat
he's
a
little
unsure
of
the
new
surroundings,
so
he's
trying
to
get
adjusted
to
it
and
just
learning
the
the
new
smells
and
sights
and
sounds
here
at
the
ames
animal
shelter
from
the
animal
rescue
league.
So
a
beautiful
kitty,
dean
looking
for
his
forever
home
and
he
does
have
all
of
his
claws
and
of
course
we
want
to
make
sure
that
it
stays
that
way.
A
A
She
is
what
she
would
call
a
russian
blue
that
color
that
you
see
most
people
would
say
that's
a
gray
but
in
cats
that
color
is
considered
to
be
blue,
and
if
you
look
at
it
really
closely,
you
can
see
that
there
are
definitely
blue
tints
to
it
she's
about
seven
months
old
and
she
is
also
a
transfer
from
the
animal
rescue
league.
So
I
think
she's,
the
youngest
one
of
the
eight
cats
that
we
received
yesterday
and
wanted
to
say
that
we
are
so
proud
to
partner
with
the
animal
rescue
league
of
iowa.
A
A
Shelter-
and
our
next
guest
today
is
kelly.
Kelly
is
a
spade
female
tortoise-shelled
cat,
beautiful
colorings.
If
you
can
see
there
on
her
coloring
she's
got
gold
and
orange,
and
tan
and
brown
and
black
and
those
tortoiseshell
cats
are
just
the
most
beautiful
mixture
of
the
colors
she's,
also
a
transfer
about
three
years
old,
and
she
is
now
looking
for
her
forever
home
at
the
ames
animal
shelter.
A
A
All
of
these
cats
have
just
been
spayed
or
neutered
before
they
came
to
us
and
again
want
to
thank
the
animal
rescue
league
for
doing
all
of
that
they're
fully
vaccinated.
When
they're
adopted
from
the
ames
animal
shelter,
they've
had
microchips,
implanted
and
all
of
their
current
age-appropriate
vaccinations,
rabies,
vaccination,
they've
all
been
tested
for
feline,
leukemia
and
feline
aids
and
are
negative
for
both
of
those
and
really
just
overall,
they
are
ready
to
go.
A
A
And
our
next
kitty,
I
have
to
say
I've
only
met
her
for
less
than
24
hours,
but
she
is
my
favorite.
She
is
the
most
gorgeous
cat
and
she
really
wants
to
go
home
with
me.
I'm
not
sure
that
all
my
other
cats
at
home
agree
with
that,
but
she
is
just
such
a
beautiful
cat.
We
think
she's
a
norwegian
forest
cat,
at
least
a
very
good
mix
of
a
norwegian
forest
cat.
A
She
is
a
spayed
female
about
two
years
old.
We
understand
she
loves,
brushing
she's,
very
affectionate.
You
can
see
there
she's
just
loving
that
attention
from
kathy,
but
just
a
beautiful
gorgeous
cat.
Now
it's
extremely
important,
which
you
understand
with
long
haired
or
medium
haired
cats
that
they
need
to
have
daily
brushing.
A
A
A
And
ivan
is
the
next
cat.
He
is
about
three
years
old.
He
is
a
neutered
male,
a
beautiful
black
and
white
he's
a
he's.
A
big
kitty
he's
a
little
bit
shy
right
now,
a
little
camera
shy,
so
he's
kind
of
hanging
out
there
in
the
back
of
the
kennel.
But
we
have
to
remember
what
these
kitties
have
gone
through.
They
came
from
whatever
environment
they
came
into.
The
animal
rescue
league
they've
been
spayed
and
neutered
vaccinated,
had
vet
exams
now
they've
traveled
here
to
the
ames
animal
shelter
looking
for
that
forever
home.
A
A
A
And
our
next
guest
today
she's
actually
not
from
the
animal
rescue
league.
She
was
an
owner
surrender
kitty.
Unfortunately,
she
had
several
litters
of
kittens
three
litters
of
kittens
that
we
know
of,
but
now
we're
gonna
fix.
All
of
that
and
she
is
going
to
be
spayed
before
she
goes
home,
she's,
a
kind
of
beautiful
calico,
coloring
and
brown
tabby
short
hair,
we're
estimating
she's
about
two
years
old
and
again
she
just
had
a
litter
of
kittens
that
were
weaned
from
her.
So
her
kittens
are
soon
going
to
be
available
for
adoption.
A
And
our
final
guest
for
today
is
chester.
Chester
is
also
one
of
the
transfers
from
the
animal
rescue
league
of
iowa.
He
is
about
two
years
old.
He
is
a
neutered
male
that
buff
color.
So
that's
kind
of
that
really
light
orange
tan
color
is
called
buff
and
white
and
again
he's
a
transfer
from
animal
rescue
league.
He's
neutered,
fully
vaccinated
has
all
of
his
claws
and
ready
to
be
adopted
into
a
forever
home.
A
Well,
that's
our
show,
for
today
you
met
some
amazing
cats-
that's
nine
cats
that
are
here
at
the
ames
animal
shelter
that
are
looking
for
their
forever
homes.
Again,
I
want
to
thank
the
animal
rescue
league
of
iowa
for
partnering
with
us
to
help
save
these
furry
felines.
They
all
deserve
the
best
of
homes.
They
deserve
to
be
kept
in
a
safe
indoor
home,
where
they're
going
to
be
loved
on
and
cared
for
for
many
many
years,
and,
of
course,
when
I
mentioned
that
again,
it's
extremely
important
to
us
that
these
cats
keep
their
claws.
A
A
Paws
come
with
claws.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
they
keep
them
here.
We
do
provide
those
free
nail
trims
for
life,
so
take
us
up
on
that
offer
if
you're
interested
in
adopting
one
of
our
kitties.
If
you
see
someone
today
that
you're
interested
in
you
can
complete
an
online
application
at
amesanimalshelter.org,
if
you're
looking
for
cats,
then
under
the
cat
pitch
you'll
see
apply
to
adopt
a
cat
adoption
application.
A
You
click
on
that
link,
submit
that
application
to
us.
It's
an
automated
system.
You
can
apply
to
adopt
a
cat
24
hours
a
day,
seven
days
a
week
that
application
is
automatically
sent
to
us.
We
review
that
and
then
our
adoption
coordinator
reviews
those
and
gets
in
contact
with
everybody,
so
everyone
will
hear
from
us
if
you
do
apply
to
adopt
from
us
just
make
sure
you
indicate
which
animal
cat
dog
rabbit
you
are
interested
in,
adopting
so
make
sure
you
keep
an
eye
on
our
website.
