A
Hello
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
Ames.
Today's
going
to
be
a
very
celebratory
show
we're
going
to
talk
about
our
community
cat
room
and
show
you
some
of
the
cats
that
are
in
our
brand
new
community
cat
room.
This
is
a
first
for
the
Ames
Animal
Shelter
and
we're
very
proud
to
be
able
to
offer
this
cage
free
environment
for
our
furry
friend,
feline
friends.
A
Here
at
the
shelter
and
three
of
the
guests
that
you're
going
to
meet
today,
all
three
of
them
actually
are
from
the
Greenbelt
Humane
Society.
We
got
a
special
plea
from
them
to
help
them
out.
Part
of
their
building
has
been
condemned
and
they
desperately
needed
some
help
to
try
and
get
some
of
their
kitties
into
a
new
environment.
A
So
we
of
course
answered
that
plea
and
used
it
as
an
opportunity
to
put
a
jumpstart
on
our
own
community
cat
room
and
the
cats
that
you're
going
to
meet
today
are
all
from
a
community
cat
room
there
at
the
Greenbelt
Humane
Society,
and
we
were
able
to
transition
them
into
our
new
community
room
here
that
actually
just
on
January
2nd.
So
yesterday
the
room
was
opened
up
and
we
opened
that
up
to
eight
cats
from
the
Greenbelt
Humane
Society.
A
It's
a
you
know,
big
transition
coming
from
one
shelter
to
the
next
and
the
car
ride,
and
now
it's
a
new
environment
and
different
food
and
everything-
and
so
tweety
here
is
just
adjusting
to
that
environment.
Tweety
is
one
of
eight:
that's
in
our
community
cat
room
and
we're
going
to
have
a
naming
opportunity
for
that
community
cat
room
coming
up
soon
so
stay
on
top
of
our
Facebook
page
Ames.
Animal
shelter
and
you'll
be
able
to
see
that
information
and
hopefully
give
us
a
great
name
for
our
new
community
cat
room.
A
A
A
In
our
next
guest
today
from
the
community
cat
room
is
iceberg.
We
have
three
white
cats
that
have
very
very
little
little
markings
that
you
can
tell
them
apart.
The
first
one
here
is
iceberg
and
he
has
a
very
small
little
spot
of
black
hair
up
here.
If
you're
really
close,
you
can
see
and
I'm
sure
that
the
camera
can't
even
see
it
plus
he's
not
really
showing
off
that
part.
A
But
you
can
see
it
there,
there's
just
a
little
bit
of
black
in
there.
If
you're
right
on
top
of
him,
you
can
see
it,
but
he
is
part
of
the
community
cat
rooms
he's
also
about
six
months
old,
domestic
short
hair.
Again
there's
he
has
two
other
siblings
in
the
community
cat
room,
so
you'll
notice
them
real
easy
to
see
these
pure
white
cats.
A
There
is
one,
that's
completely
solid
white,
with
no
markings
at
all
and
there's
another
one
that
has
just
a
little
bit
of
a
little
bit
more
of
the
black,
which
is
just
down
here
on
the
neck,
but
iceberg
does
just
has
it
on
the
top
of
the
head
there.
So
he
is
a
neutered
male
and
he
is
available
for
adoption,
one
of
the
things
in
our
community
cat
room
that
we're
going
to
do
as
an
ongoing
program
to
try
and
get
these
cats
adopted
together
since
they
have
been
living
with
eight
other
seven.
A
A
What's,
of
course,
important
to
keep
in
mind
is
that
even
though
the
adoption
fee
is
waived
for
the
second
kitty,
there's
of
course
going
to
be
double
the
vet
bills,
double
the
food,
but
just
for
them
having
a
playmate
while
you're
at
work
or
at
school
or
classes,
it's
just
so
beneficial
for
their
health
and
well-being
that
they
have
someone
to
play
with
and
someone
they
can
run
along
with
and
have
a
great
time
when
you're
not
there.
So
again,
this
is
iceberg.
A
A
And
our
final
guest
today
for
the
community
cat
room
is
Jeanette.
Jeanette
is
an
8
month
old,
spayed
female
she's,
this
beautiful
brown
tabby
with
white
paws.
There
looks
like
we
got
four
white
socks
they're,
so
beautiful
brown
tabby
here,
I'm
she's
a
little
shy
again.
They
just
transitioned
from
the
Greenbelt
Humane
Society
just
the
other
day,
so
she's
still
kind
of
adjusting
to
this
environment,
but
definitely
a
sweet
kitty.
Again.
A
We've
estimated
that
she
is
about
eight
months
old,
current
on
vaccinations,
deworming
flea
treatment,
so
we're
very
thankful
for
the
Greenbelt
Humane
Society
for
reaching
out
to
us
and
being
able
to
provide
an
environment
for
these
kitties
in
our
community
cat
room.
So
again,
this
is
Jeanette
and
she
is
available
here
at
the
Ames
Animal
Shelter.
A
A
Hopefully
one
of
these
one
of
those
families
will
also
be
interested
in
the
two
dogs
that
we
got
today.
Toby
is
a
tan
pug.
Lab
mix
is
what
they're
calling
toby
and
butch
is
a
also
a
lab
mix.
Maybe
some
Shepherd
in
there
it's
kind
of
hard
to
say
definitely
a
special
blend
of
many
breeds,
but
both
of
dogs
seem
very
sweet.
A
I
just
met
them
just
before
we
went
back
on
camera
again,
both
dogs
seem
very
sweet
and
hopefully
we
can
get
these
dogs
into
a
home
forever
home
very
soon,
we'd
love
for
them
to
be
in
a
warm
environment.
They
were
at
the
almost
home,
Humane
Society
of
North
Central
Iowa
for
quite
some
time,
so
be
nice
to
be
able
to
get
these
guys
into
a
home
I'll.
A
Make
sure
that
if
they
are
still
here
during
our
next
show
that
we
put
them
on
the
TV
show
and
we've
made
a
commitment
to
the
almost
home,
Humane
Society
that
as
soon
as
we
get
these
dogs
adopted,
we
will
gladly
take
in
some
additional
dogs
from
them
to
help
them
out
with
their
overcrowding
situation
that
they
have
going
on
right
now.
So
these
are
wonderful
dogs.
They
have
they've,
been
microchipped
vaccinated,
heartworm
tested
just
amazing
dogs
that
they
need
some
extra
help
with
so
come
on
down
to
the
shelter.
A
You
can
also
see
them
online
at
Ames.
Animal
Shelter
org,
you
can
see
their
pictures
and
a
little
profile
on
them.
So,
in
addition
to
all
the
eight
cats
that
we
have
from
the
Greenbelt
Humane
Society,
we
have
the
two
dogs
today
that
just
came
in.
So
what
I
also
like
to
talk
about
is
our
community
cat
room,
as
I
mentioned
earlier
in
the
show
you
can
see
here.
This
is
just
an
amazing
room
for
a
cage,
free
environment
for
the
cats
here
at
the
shelter.
A
These
cats
will
live
in
this
room
until
they
get
adopted.
We've
set
our
kind
of
maximum
number
in
this
room
as
eight
cats.
So
there
are
eight
cats
in
this
room.
If
one
gets
adopted,
we're
going
to
move
one
of
the
others,
that's
in
one
of
our
regular
kennels
one
of
the
cages
in
our
cat
adoption
room
that
meets
the
criteria
into
this
room.
A
That
means
that
the
animals
have
been
spayed
or
neutered
they've
been
feeling
leukemia,
feline
AIDS
tested
their
negative
for
both
of
those
and
they're
thriving
they're
doing
well,
and
then
we
can
let
them
adjust
into
that
community
cat
room.
You'll
notice
that
there
is
a
large
kennel
inside
the
room,
what
that
does
is
provides
a
kind
of
transition
for
the
new
cat
coming
into
the
community
cat
room
where
it
can
adjust
to
the
sights.
The
sounds
the
smells
in
that
room
and,
of
course,
the
other
cats
that
are
there.
A
They
may
be
a
little
shy
here
with
the
camera
in
the
room,
but
it's
a
very
nice
room
for
these
guys
in
a
cage,
free
environment
and
again
they'll
stay
in
this
room
until
they
are
adopted,
and
then
we'll
move
some
others
into
that
room.
So
what
we'd
love
to
have
eventually
is
a
completely
cage
free
environment
for
our
feline
friends.
A
That,
of
course,
is
our
goal
eventually,
so
we're
working
towards
that
goal-
and
this
is
just
the
start
when
I
think
the
community
and
all
of
our
donors
who
helped
make
this
room
possible
for
all
the
donations
that
we
had
of
the
scratchers
the
toys,
the
food.
Everything
helps
put
this
make
this
room
possible,
so
special.
Thank
you
to
all
of
you
who
helped
out
to
make
this
community
cat
room
such
a
special
place
for
our
feelings.
