A
Hello
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
ames.
My
name
is
ron
edwards,
I'm
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
at
the
ames
animal
shelter
and
animal
control
program.
I'm
very
excited
today
to
announce
our
guest
host
deb
shodroth.
She
is
the
assistant
city
manager
here
with
the
city
of
ames,
so
really
excited
to
see
here
her
here,
I'm
showing
some
of
our
adoptable
critters
furry
and
feathered
critters
today
that
you're
gonna
meet
so
let's
meet
some
animals
with
deb.
B
Hi
everyone,
my
name-
is
deb
shildroth
and
I'm
assistant
city
manager,
for
the
city
of
ames,
and
I'm
here
today
to
talk
to
you
about
one
of
these
very
cute
kittens
here
at
the
ames
animal
shelter.
This
is
starlight
and
starlight
is
one
of
four
kittens
in
a
litter
that
have
been
here
at
the
shelter
she.
He
is
eight
weeks
old.
B
The
the
mother
was
found
by
someone
here
in
the
community
and
once
the
mother
was
brought
into
that
household,
the
finder
ended
up
finding
out
that
the
the
cat
was
pregnant,
and
so
they
kept
the
cat
at
home,
allowed
the
kittens
to
be
born
and
then
called
the
animal
shelter
for
assistance.
In
adopting
out
these
kittens,
they
are
all
very
cute
and
will
be
ready
for
adoption,
along
with
their
flea
treatment,
their
deworming
treatment,
microchipped
and
then
spayed
and
neutered,
and
ready
to
come
to
your
home.
B
Next,
in
this
letter
of
four
is
ninja.
Ninja
is
a
boy
and
again
eight
weeks
old,
very
cute
subdued
right
now,
but
I
anticipate
him
wanting
to
be
interactive
with
the
owner
and
any
other
cats
that
might
be
in
the
household.
So
preference
will
be
given
to
those
individuals
who
apply
and
and
can
adopt
a
pair
of
these
kittens
so
that
they
can
stay
together
as
litter
mates
and
sometimes
we
get
more
applications
than
what
we
have
available
for
kittens.
B
Joining
me
now
is
pumpkin
spice
and
yes,
pumpkin
spice
is
part
of
the
of
the
litter
pumpkin
spice
is
the
only
lighter
colored
kitten
of
the
litter
and,
as
you
can
see,
is
just
very
attentive
enjoys
to
be
held,
and
the
litter
was
brought
back
actually
this
morning
from
a
foster
home
and
so
they've
already
had
an
introduction
to
a
home
and
and
ready
to
go
to
their
forever
home.
So
again,
please
apply
online
to
the
amesanimalshelter.org
if
you're
interested
in
these
kittens,
and
so
we
can
find
a
forever
home
for.
B
B
Well,
I
would
like
to
introduce
speedy,
who
has
just
woke
up
for
a
nap
given
the
name.
I
would
expect
a
lot
of
energy
from
this
kitten
and
a
good
thing
to
keep
in
mind
with
kittens
is
they're
a
lot
like
small
children,
and
so
they
need
supervision
and
attention
in
order
to
be
well
trained
and
to
grow
up
to
be
a
good
companion
within
your
household
and
like
all
pets,
nutrition,
attention
and
exercise
is
very
important
for
them.
B
B
And
joining
me
here
is
chicky.
Chicky
is
about
a
three-month-old
broiler
chicken.
He
is
a
rooster
and
we're
actually
trying
to
find
his
owner.
He
came
in
and
we
just
we
think
he
got
separated
from
his
home
and
the
person
who
found
him
affectionately
named
him
chicky.
So
if
the
owner
is
looking
for
him,
please
contact
the
ames
animal
shelter
and
we'll
get
him
back
safe
and
sound
to
your
home.
A
Again,
we
do
provide
preferences
if
someone
is
interested
in
adopting
a
pair
of
them,
so
they
can
live
their
lives
together
and
have
been
together,
of
course,
since
birth,
so
it's
nice
to
get
them
adopted
into
a
home
together.
We
also
do
consider,
of
course,
individual
adoptions
as
well.
So
again,
just
thank
you
deb
for
showing
these
animals
today
looking
for
chicky's
owner
and
wanted
to
thank
everybody
that
came
out
for
our
first
ever
microchip
clinic.
A
We
had
over
90
pets
that
were
microchipped
here
in
our
communities,
so
those
animals
are
now
identified
permanently
for
a
lifetime.
It
was
just
ten
dollars
for
those
microchips
and
really
thanking
everybody
that
came
out
and
did
that
and
especially
the
volunteers
from
the
iowa
state
university
vet,
med
club.
A
All
of
those
that
came
out
gave
their
time.
We
also
had
three
other
volunteers
that
helped
with
the
coordination
of
where
the
cars
lined
up
but
great
event,
no
accidents,
everybody
left
with
their
pets
that
they
came
in
with
and
they're
all
now
identified
permanently.
So
thanks
for
participating
that
and
thanks
for
watching
the
show.
