A
Hello
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
in
ames.
My
name
is
Ron
Edwards
I'm,
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
for
the
Ames
animal
shelter
and
animal
control
program.
The
first
two
guests
will
see
today
are
going
to
give
updates
on
them.
They
were
on
our
last
episode
and
you
may
have
seen
that
show
the
first
one
here
is
Abner
and
I
just
had
to
bring
him
on
to
show
the
the
great
success
with
him
he
if
you're,
if
you
saw
the
first
show
you
remember,
he
was
pretty.
A
A
He
is
just
becoming
a
great
little
bunny
and
even
better
news
than
improving
is
Abner
has
been
adopted,
so
we're
just
waiting
for
him
to
be
able
to
get
neutered,
and
the
important
thing
was
that
he
was
gaining
weight
for
that
surgery.
So
now
he's
pretty
much
ready
to
go,
he's
ready
to
be
neutered
and
he'll
be
going
to
his
forever
home
very
soon,
so
I
just
wanted
to
give
everybody
an
update
on
Abner
and
next
we'll
see
Kinsley.
Who
was
another
one
that
came
in
to
us
in
really
bad
shape.
A
I
wanted
to
share
this
with
our
viewers.
I
know
it's
important
to
all
of
you
received
some
emails
about
Abner
and
people
always
want
to
know
the
that
they're
doing
well
and
that
they're
thriving
here
at
the
Ames
animal
shelter.
So
just
an
update
on
Abner
he's
doing
great
going
to
be
going
to
his
forever
home
soon.
A
And
our
next
update
today
is
Kinsley.
You
may
remember.
Fourth
Kinsley
on
the
previous
show
that
she
came
in
during
one
of
the
recent
snowstorms
and
was
in
really
bad
shape.
She
was
just
under
three
pounds
or
just
at
three
pounds
I
believe,
and
now
she
has
almost
doubled
her
weights
and
she's
been
here.
So
it's
amazing
what
some
TLC
and
good
food
can
do
to
help
these
guys
and
I
can
actually
pet.
A
Her
now
and
I
can
just
feel
the
difference
in
her
coat
now
that
she's
getting
consistent
food
she's
still
a
skinny
cat,
she
still
has
a
ways
to
go,
which
makes
it
even
more
critical
that
she
was
found
when
she
was
so
a
very
sweet
cat,
a
little
bit
scared
now
with
the
lights
and
everything.
But
now
you
can
tell
she
has
the
energy,
whereas
on
last
episode
she
was
definitely
there's
not
a
whole
lot
there,
and
now
she
is
really
thriving.
A
And
our
next
guest
with
us
today-
and
this
is
the
first
one
that
is
up
for
adoption
right
now-
is
regal
regal-
is
what
we're
calling
a
Siamese
mix
got
some
beautiful,
tabby
stripes
here,
but
just
a
gorgeous
cat
he's
also
a
big
cat.
He
is
a
neuter
male,
so
he
is
ready
to
be
adopted
and
to
go
into
his
new
forever
home,
but
tint
is
very
sweet,
seems
to
be
very
friendly.
He
seems
to
be
okay
with
other
cats.
A
I,
don't
know
that
we've
looked
in
seen
kind
of
his
reaction
to
other
dogs,
yet,
but
my
sense
is
that
he
might
be
a
okay
and
one
to
go
into
a
home
that
has
a
dog
as
long
as
the
dog
is
cat
friendly
of
course.
So
again,
regal
is
a
neutered
male.
We're
estimating
he's
about
three
years
old
came
into
us
as
a
stray,
so
we
don't
have
any
information
about
him.
He
didn't
have
any
microchip.
No
identification,
no
tags,
no,
no,
no
form
of
identification
for
us
to
get
him
back
to
his
people.
A
I
think
you
see
some
cat
toys
down
there
and
he
wants
to
go
play,
but
regal
is
a
beautiful
cat
again,
a
good
size.
Catch
loves.
This
attention
loves
to
be
pet.
Just
seems
like
a
good
cat
to
fit
into
a
family.
So
if
you're
interested
in
meeting
regal
here
at
the
Ames
animal
shelter,
we'd
be
happy
to
show
them
to
you,
come
on
down
and
take
a
look
at
I
may
be
happy
to
put
them
in
the
room
and
you
can
spend
time
and
get
to
meet
them
up.
Close
and
personal.
A
Thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
aims.
We
had
a
few
other
cats
that
we
were
going
to
bring
on
today
and
they
were
a
little
camera-shy,
so
we
let
them
just
chill
out
in
their
in
their
kennels
there.
I
did
want
to
mention
that
this
week
are
all
of
our
statistical
data
for
the
animals
that
enter
the
Ames
Animal
Shelter
is
going
to
be
on
the
website,
which
is
Ames
animal
shelter
org.
A
We
absolutely
believe
that
transparency
is
a
must
in
a
municipal
animal
shelter,
so
you
have
all
the
history
there
of
all
the
animals
that
have
come
in
the
last
ten
years
and
with
our
new
database
we
even
have
more
data
than
we
have
before
so
you'll
notice
that
there
is
a
some
missing
data
from
some
of
the
handwritten
records
that
we
have,
but
you'll
see
that
the
new
data
breaks
animals
into
cats,
kittens
dogs,
puppies
rabbits
and
Wildlife
consider
other
animals.
So
a
lot
of
history
there
please
get
it.
A
If
you
get
a
chance,
take
a
look
at
that.
We're
going
to
be
posting
that
on
our
Facebook
page
as
well
and
again,
we
want
to
be
as
transparent
as
possible.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
everyone
knows
that
the
animals
that
come
in
animal
shelter
and
what
happens
to
them,
it's
the
complete
numbers,
we're
not
hiding
anything.
A
It's
all
the
animals
that
enter
the
shelter
here
and
hopefully
have
a
live
outcome
and
you'll
see
that
over
ninety
six
percent
of
all
dogs,
cats
and
rabbits
that
enter
the
Ames
animal
shelter
find
new
homes
or
they
return
back
to
their
original
owner.
So
it's
a
great
success,
something
we're
very
proud
of,
and
we
always
want
to
continue.
Our
policy
absolutely
is
that
we
want
to
improve
adoptions,
increase
adoptions,
increase
owner
returns
and
reduce
euthanasia.
