A
Hello
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
ames.
My
name
is
ron
edwards,
I'm
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
for
the
ames
animal
shelter
and
animal
control
program.
Our
special
co-host
today
is
shelby.
She
is
a
community
safety
officer,
part
of
the
ames
police
department,
which
we
are
part
of
a
division
of
and
want
to
welcome
her
to
the
show
and
she's
going
to
show
you
some
animals
that
we
have
here
for
adoption,
a
combination
of
furried
creatures
that
we
have
available
for
adoption
and
talk
about
our
adoption
process.
B
Hi
guys,
my
name
is
shelby,
I'm
a
community
safe
safety
officer
with
the
ames
police
department.
This
is
mr
jay
he's
the
only
dog
that
the
animal
shelter
actually
has
right
now,
but
he's
already
adopted.
We
just
wanted
to
show
you
how
fast
that
the
dogs
can
actually
get
adopted
here.
The
website
aims.
Animal
shelter.org
is
always
open.
30
minutes
refresh
every
time
and
you're
going
to
be
able
to
see
any
dogs
that
are
available.
B
This
is
coco
she's,
one
of
the
cats
that
we
have
here
at
the
animal
shelter
she's
about
six
years
old.
She
came
in
as
a
stray,
so
the
animal
shelter
is
still
trying
to
get
used
to
her,
trying
to
know
her
what
she
likes
and
everything
she
does
have
all
of
her
claws
and
they
want
to
make
sure
that
she
stays
that
way.
She's
also
an
indoor
cat.
Only
outdoor
cats
can
be
dangerous
to
themselves
and
pray
that
they
try
and
hunt
on.
B
This
here
is
mia
she's,
one
of
seven
kittens
that
they
have
at
the
animal
shelter
carried
by
their
mom
and
the
staff.
They
are
born
february
25th
by
the
end
of
april
you'll
be
able
to
adopt
them,
go
to
the
ames
animal
shelter.org,
be
able
to
look
up,
alma's
kittens
and
see
the
kittens
for
yourself
make
an
appointment,
try
and
see.
If
you
want
to
adopt
them,
do
they
do
want
to
try
and
keep
the
animals
together
to
bond
as
siblings,
so
their
preferences
are
trying
to
get
them
together.
B
Now
we
have
two
fancy
mice
here
that
are
available
for
adoption.
This
one
right
here
is
daffodil.
This
one
is
a
chrysanthemum
they're,
not
the
best
of
friends,
so
they
do
need
to
be
adopted
separately.
Their
adoption
comes
with
everything
that
you
see
here,
which
is
the
fee,
is
ten
dollars
per
mouse
that
you
see
caring
for
these
little
girls
is
important,
so
they
need
their
space
cleaned
all
the
time,
often
to
prevent
any
dirty
house
issues
that
you
might
have
with.
A
Mice,
well,
I
want
to
thank
shelby
for
highlighting
some
of
the
adoptable
animals
that
we
have
available
today.
She
did
a
great
job
and
she's
a
big
animal
lover
herself,
so
I
know
that
she
enjoyed
doing
the
show
today
when
I
again
mentioned
the
adoption
process
right
now,
a
little
bit
different
policy
because
of
the
covid
measures
that
we're
taking
part
of
it,
of
course,
is
the
plexiglass
that
we
have
here
to
keep
our
staff
safe
and
the
public
safe
as
well.
A
If
you
see
an
animal
on
our
website
at
amesanimalshelter.org,
once
you
see
an
animal
that
you're
interested
in,
you
can
complete
an
adoption
application
and,
of
course,
the
first
place
that
that
goes
to
immediately
as
soon
as
you
hit
that
send
button
that
submit
button
goes
to
abby
here
and
abby.
Is
our
adoption
coordinator
and
she's
actually
reviewing
applications
as
I
speak,
so
it's
a
constant
job
of
applications
coming
through.
