A
Hello
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
ames.
My
name
is
ron
edwards,
I'm
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
for
the
ames
animal
shelter
and
animal
control
program.
Our
first
guest
with
us
today
is
laverne.
Laverne
came
into
us
as
a
stray
we're
thinking
that
she
is
a
jack
russell.
Terrier
mix
breed
very
sweet,
very
lovable
she's
a
little
bit
shy
here
with
the
camera.
I
think,
but
she
sure
does
have
a
lot
of
energy.
A
A
A
She
has
a
great
disposition.
We
haven't
seen
any
negative
behaviors
from
her
whatsoever.
She
does
need
a
little
bit
of
training.
She
does
tend
to
get
really
excited
and
maybe
piddles
a
little
bit
dish
do
but
she's
just
really
excited
to
see
people
and
and
be
with
somebody,
so
we're
estimating
she's
about
a
year
old,
again,
no
negative,
behaviors,
we've
seen
from
her.
She
just
seems
like
a
pretty
relaxed
dog.
A
A
I
think
we
already
have
a
few
applicants
that
are
interested
in
adopting
her,
so
I'm
sure
she's
going
to
be
adopted,
really
quick.
So
if
you're
interested
in
laverne
come
on
down,
I
just
want
to
remind
people
that
laverne
and
the
others
have
been
on
our
website
they're
on
our
website
from
the
day
that
they
come
in.
So
if
you're
interested
in
adopting
from
the
ames
animal
shelter,
you
can
always
check
out
our
website,
which
is
ames
animal
shelter,
dot,
org
and
see
the
pictures
of
these
guys
and
hopefully
some
information
about
them.
A
So
if
you're
interested
in
laverne
come
on
down
we'd
love
to
have
your
application
considered
to
adopt
her
again
she's
a
jack
russell
mix
about
a
year
old,
she
still
needs
to
be
spayed,
but
we're
going
to
make
sure
that
she
is
spayed
before
she
goes
home.
So
if
you're
interested
in
laverne
come
on
down
to
meet
her
she's,
a
great.
A
A
He
definitely
needs
some
training,
he's
a
young
lab
a
lab
mix
and
needs
a
lot
of
training.
He
still
has
some
accidents
in
the
house,
so
he'll
need
some
help
with
potty
training,
and
we
can
also
provide
some
assistance
and
details
on
how
to
help
make
that
happen
for
colton
here,
but
he
just
has
a
lot
of
energy,
so
maybe
a
nice
yard
where
he
can
run
and
play
maybe
even
having
another
dog
where
he
can
work
off
some
of
that
energy
with
him.
But
colton
is
a
lab
mix.
A
We
think
he's
about
a
year
old,
that's
our
estimate,
but
appears
to
be
a
very
friendly
dog.
We
haven't
seen
any
behaviors
here
that
concern
us.
A
So
we're
not
sure
if,
when
he,
when
he's
eating
his
meal,
if
he
thinks
it's
going
to
be
his
last
meal
or
not,
but
he
he's
already
put
on
a
little
bit
of
weight
since
he's
been
back
with
us,
but
he
still
has
some
some
weight
to
gain.
A
He
did
live
with
other
dogs,
actually
all
smaller
dogs
than
him,
but
he
again
just
has
a
lot
of
energy
that
he
needs
to
get
out
good
boy.
Can
you
see
just
a
lot
of
energy?
You
see
that
tail
just
go
in
there,
so
he
needs
a
lot
of
time
spent
with
him.
He'd
probably
be
a
great
running
partner
with
lots
of
energy.
So
if
you
have
lots
of
desire
to
run
burn
off
some
of
that
energy,
I
think
he'd
be
a
great
adoption,
a
great
pet
for
you.
A
A
And
our
final
canine
guest
today
is
teo.
Teo
came
into
us
as
an
owner.
Surrender
dog,
as
you
can
see,
he's
very
calm,
doesn't
move
much
at
all.
Teo
came
to
us
in
a
pretty
bad
shape.
He
is
recovering
really
well.
He
had
severe
skin
problems
that
were
not
treated.
A
The
previous
owner
did
not
get
him
the
vet
care
that
he
needed
and
he
should
have
had,
but
we've
got
him
on.
We've
had
him,
we
got
him
to
the
vet,
actually,
the
next
day
that
he
came
in,
got
him
on
a
treatment
regimen
now
and
he's
doing
so
much
better.
When
he
came
in
here
he
was
constantly
scratching
and
just
very
uncomfortable
and
probably
in
a
lot
of
pain
with
the
skin
wounds
and
everything
that
he
had.
A
So
he
just
was
in
really
bad
shape.
So
we're
very
happy
and
fortunate
that
he's
here
with
us
now
where
we
know
that
we're
going
to
make
sure
that
he
gets
the
right
care,
he
likes
to
walk
himself
with
the
leash.
So,
but
he
is
about
we're
estimating
about
five
to
six
months
old.
We
think
he's
a
a
mixed
breed
dogs.
We
think
yes,
thank
you.
A
He
is
a
probably
a
german
shepherd
terrier,
something
mixed,
maybe
somewhere
it's
kind
of
hard
to
say,
but
just
a
little
guy
here
he's
not
going
to
be
a
big
dog
at
all,
he's
already
hello,
but
just
a
lot
of
a
bundle
of
joy,
lots
of
ex
lots
of
energy
and
just
ready
to
run
and
play
so
he's
been
in
somewhat
of
an
isolation
room,
so
he
hasn't
got
a
whole
lot
of
energy
out
of
him.
So
we're
gonna
make
sure
he
gets
a
lot
of
energy,
but
this
is
teo.
A
A
Well,
that's
our
show.
For
the
day
today
we
appreciate
everybody
that
watches
and
tunes
in
every
other
week
to
watch
animals
and
names,
and
I
just
want
to
say
a
thanks
again
to
the
crew
that
puts
this
together.
We
wouldn't
be
able
to
help
promote
the
animals
that
we
have
for
adoption
without
their
amazing
work.
They
do
a
very
good
job,
derek
leading
the
team.
We
really
appreciate
everything
that
he
does.
A
It
really
helps
to
get
our
animals
adopted.
We
have
a
lot
of
people
that
come
in
and
say
they
saw
us
on
the
show
and
saw
the
animals,
so
it
really
helps
to
get
the
word
out
there
and
keep
in
mind
that
what
you
saw
today
is
just
a
sampling
of
the
animals
we
have
available
for
adoption.
We
have
some
great
animals
here
right
now:
lots
of
kittens
we're
accepting
applications
on.
A
So
if
you're
interested
in
adopting
some
kittens
come
on
down,
we
have
a
lot
of
them
here,
some
that
we're
waiting
to
wait
until
they're,
two
two
pounds
old
two
pounds
and
two
months
old
before
we
can
get
them
spayed
and
neutered,
because
we
don't
want
to
send
anything
home
without
being
spayed
and
neutered.
A
It's
part
of
a
very
important
philosophy
that
we
have
here,
that
we
want
to
make
sure
that
everything
is
incapable
of
reproducing
before
it
leaves
here
so
are
really
important
to
us.
So,
thanks
again
for
watching
again
keep
on
keep
in
touch
with
us
through
our
facebook
page,
as
well
as
the
website
which
is
amesaanimalshelter.org
lots
of
animals
coming
in
and
going
so,
I'm
sure
if
you're
looking
for
a
pet,
we'll
have
the
right
one
for
you.
Thanks
for.
