A
Hello
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
aims.
My
name
is
Ron
Edwards
I'm,
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
for
the
Ames
animal
shelter
and
animal
control
program.
Our
first
guest
with
us
today
is
mouth.
He
was
actually
named
by
the
person
who
brought
him
her
into
us.
She
actually
came
to
us
under
quarantine,
so
she
had
bitten.
Somebody
bitten
the
person
that
found
her.
A
She
was
just
a
scared,
kitten
that
didn't
have
a
lot
of
human
socialization
and
got
a
little
excited
with
her
itty
bitty,
teeth
and
and
bit
somebody
so
by
law.
We
have
to
put
them
under
quarantine,
which
just
means
we
watch
them
in
water
to
them
for
10
days.
Well,
now
that
mouth
has
been
released
from
quarantine,
as
is
healthy
and
trying
to
eat
the
microphone
mouth
is
available
for
adoption.
She
is
we're
estimating
about
8
weeks
old.
A
She
has
just
reached
her
to
pound
limits,
so
that
means
that
we
can
get
her
spayed
with
our
partners
at
the
summers
at
vet
hospital.
So
she
has
available
for
adoption
she's
a
little
bit
on
the
shy
side.
She's
still
got
to
learn
that
people
are
friends
and
that
she's
going
to
be
safe
around
them
and
not
get
hurt
by
them,
but
she
is
a
sweet
kid
she'd
be
kind
of
the
medium
haired
black
cat.
A
Here,
there's
a
little
bit
of
lighter
coloring
inside
there,
but
she'll
probably
be
a
solid
black
cat,
medium
hair,
but
just
a
really
sweet
little
kitten
that
deserves
an
indoor
home
with
the
family.
That's
going
to
give
her
love
and
attention
vet
care
everything
she's
going
to
need
for
a
very
long
time.
She's
got
a
long,
long
life
ahead
of
her,
and
we
want
to
make
sure
that
she
stays
safe
in
her
new
home
and
that
she
thrives
with
her
family.
A
And
our
next
guest
today
is
keke.
Keke
came
to
us
in
a
very
sad
situation.
Kiki's
owner
was
placed
in
a
hospital
and
the
last
we
heard
she
was
in
intensive
care
and
not
doing
well.
So
unfortunately,
Kiki
needs
to
find
a
new
home.
The
family
decided,
that's,
probably
the
best
action
to
take
so
Kiki
and
actually
their
dog.
You
may
remember
from
a
previous
show:
Sheba
were
here
for
adoption
or
she
was
here
for
adoption
and
she
went
to
the
rescue
for
them.
A
The
Belgian
sheepdog
rescue
so
I
know
they're
going
to
find
a
great
home
for
Sheba,
but
Kiki
is
here
and
missing
his
mom
and
the
family
that
he
had.
He
is
about
six
years
old.
We
understand
he
is
a
neutered
male.
A
pretty
gentle
disposition
doesn't
seem
to
be
alarmed
by
anything
she's
kind
of
a
mellow
kitty,
but
definitely
looking
for
a
forever
home.
They
can
keep
him
and
care
for
him
he's
six
years
old.
So
by
no
means
is
he
an
old
cat.
A
He
hopefully
can
live
till
twenty
years
or
more
and
again
seems
pretty.
Gentle
is
pretty
content
with
just
hanging
out
here,
even
though
he's
in
the
Kitty
room
and
can
see
the
toys
and
everything
but
just
hanging
out
here
for
the
camera.
So
if
you're
interested
in
meeting
Kiki,
he
is
one
of
the
many
black
cats
that
we
have
right
now
here
at
the
shelter
I.
Have
the
staff
giving
me
a
count
right
now
on
the
Black
Cats
that
we
have
and
just
like
mouth
Kiki
is
a
beautiful
black
cat
little
Panther
here.
A
A
She
was
surrendered
by
her
owners
who
were
moving
into
a
place
where
they
were
not
allowed
to
have
cats
and
she's
interested
in
microphone
here,
but
she
is
also
a
sweet
kitty,
she's
a
little
bit
nervous
here
with
the
cameras
and
the
lights
and
everything
happening
in
the
room.
But
you
know
basically
a
kitten
six
months
old
is
still
very
young
and
you
know
still
a
lot
of
time
to
teach
them
the
appropriate
things
to
scratch
on
and
make
sure
you
provide
those
for
the
kitties.
But
jasmine
is
a
sweet
kitten
here.
A
Great
disposition
would
make
a
great
addition
to
a
family
or
someone
that
just
wants
a
companion,
so
maybe
a
student
that
just
moved
in
to
the
University
or
going
to
the
University
that
wants
the
compan.
You
can
probably
hear
her
purring
there
and
the
microphone
by
just
a
sweet,
kitten,
beautiful
gold
eyes
and
would
love
to
have
Jasmine
in
your
home
and
not
here
at
the
animal
shelter.
So
if
you're
interested
in
meeting
Jasmine
to
see
if
she'll
fit
into
your
home,
come
on
down
to
the
shelter
we'd
love
to
introduce
you
to
her.
A
And
our
final
guest
for
the
day
is
Harley
just
wanted
to
tell
everybody.
We
have
nine
solid
black
cats
that
are
looking
for
homes
right
now,
so
we
thought
we
would
change
it
up
and
bring
out
a
white
dog
here.
This
is
harley.
Harley
is
seven
years
old.
He
also
came
to
us
an
unfortunate
situation.
His
owner,
unfortunately
passed
away
and
the
spouse
could
no
longer
care
for
Harley
he's
about
seven
years
old
he's
a
Labrador,
Retriever
samoy.
It
mix
very
sweet
dog.
A
He
lived
with
another
dog,
so
we
know
at
least
has
a
he's
been
good
with
other
dogs
it
at
parts
in
his
life,
but
he
has
had
two
knee
surgeries.
So
horribly
is
not
going
to
be
a
dog
that
you're
going
to
want
to
take
jogging
with
you
in
the
morning
or
he's
talking
here
he's
trying
to
tell
you
about
him.
A
So
he's
going
to
be
a
dog,
you
want
to
kind
of
keep
a
little
bit.
You
know
relaxed
and
maybe
he's
going
to
be.
One
that'll
sit
there
in
front
of
the
fire
during
the
winter
and
and
watch
your
favorite
TV
show
with
you.
But
again,
Harley
is
about
seven
years
old.
He
is
a
Labrador
Retriever,
samoyed
mix,
sweet
dog,
very
gentle
nature.
We
haven't
seen
any
behavior
problems
with
him
at
all
and
he
does
have
a
good
report
from
the
vet
hospital
that
we're
working
with
to
place
him
into
a
home.
A
So
Harley
is
his
ignites
dog.
He
deserves
a
home,
that's
going
to
take
care
of
them
and,
as
he
gets
into
his
senior
years,
that's
going
to
love
him
and
care
for
him
and
give
him
everything
that
he
deserves.
So
if
you're
interested
in
Harley
and
when
I
meet
him
come
on
down
to
the
show,
do
we
love
to
take
him
and
put
him
in
the
yard
with
you,
so
you
can
meet
him
and
see
if
he
might
be
the
dog
for
your
family.
A
Thank
you
for
watching
this
episode
of
animals
and
names.
We
wanted
to
report
some
great
success
lately
with
getting
some
of
our
adult
cats
adopted,
and
it's
quite
a
miracle
to
have
so
many
adult
cats
adopted
when
we
have
kittens
available
for
adoption.
Typically,
the
adults
get
looked
over
and
people
head
straight
to
the
kittens
we've
had
some
great
adult
cat
adoptions.
I
want
to
thank
the
people
who
watch
the
show
and
share
with
their
family
and
friends
all
of
the
wonderful
animals
that
we
have
available
for
adoption
here
at
the
Ames
animal
shelter.
A
I
also
wanted
to
let
everybody
know
that
our
statistics
have
just
been
recently
updated
on
our
website.
So
if
you
go
to
ames
animal
shelter,
org
and
you'll
see
animal
shelter.
Statistics
on
the
sidebar
click
on
that
and
you'll
see
an
array
of
statistical
data
with
our
adoption
statistics,
animals
that
are
returned
to
their
owners,
I
mean
even
euthanasia,
statistics
statistics,
because
we
believe
in
complete
transparency.
A
We
have
everything
to
be
successful
about
and
share
our
success.
But
we
want
to
be
honest
with
everybody
and
you
can
see
on
our
website.
We
have
almost
a
ninety-seven
percent
live
release
rate
and
this
is
using
the
no-kill
standard
for
statistical
data
reporting,
so
really
the
highest
standard
and
statistical
reporting.
All
of
our
data
is
on
our
website.
Please
take
a
look
at
that.
There's
lots
of
information
there.
If
you
have
any
questions,
don't
hesitate
to
call
us
would
be
happy
to
talk
about
all
of
the
statistics.
