A
Hello
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
aims.
My
name
is
Ron
Edwards
I'm,
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
for
the
Ames
animal
shelter
and
animal
control
program,
our
first
two
guests
with
us
today
and
wanted
to
point
out
that
we
have
a
lot
of
kittens
right
now,
there's
actually
tin
kittens
that
are
looking
for
their
forever
homes
here
at
the
shelter,
so
I'm
going
to
show
you
a
few
of
them
today.
These
two
here
are
sisters.
A
A
She
actually
had
three
here
at
the
shelter
as
with
any
kittens
a
kitten,
they
have
lots
of
energy
and
want
to
run
and
play
Val's
a
little
bit
more
outgoing
right
now,
Harper's,
just
so
not
real
sure
about
the
camera
and
everything
that's
going
on
here.
But
again,
these
are
just
two
of
the
ten
kittens
that
we
have
here
at
the
shelter.
A
Let's
show
me
pretty
sight
that
are
looking
for
their
forever
homes,
of
course,
with
all
of
our
cats
and
kittens
were
looking
for
them
to
be
indoor
only
homes,
and
we
want
to
make
sure
that
they
maintain
all
of
their
claws.
Everything
that
they
came
with
we
want
them
to
keep.
So
declawing
is
the
procedure
that
we're
adamantly,
what
trying
to
educate
people
about
and
discouraged,
because
there
are
other
alternatives
to
decline
and
just
a
reminder
to.
We
also
provide
the
free
nail
trims
for
life.
A
So
you
know
want
to
keep
these
guys
safe
in
the
home,
where
they're
not
going
to
be
attacked
by
predators
or
possibly
hit
by
cars.
If
you
can
hear
them,
purring
I
lean
in
here
a
little
bit,
but
these
are
just
some
beautiful
kittens
again.
We
have
ten
kittens
right
now.
This
is
just
two
of
them.
We
do
have
two
that
are
kind
of
a
bonded
pair
there,
a
little
less
socialized
when
they
came
in
here,
whereas
these
guys
are
very
socialized,
but
we
would
still
like
to
adopt
them
together.
A
It's
always
good,
if
they're
a
bonded
pair
to
keep
them
together.
It
kind
of
gives
them
that
safe
zone
and
something
to
cuddle
up
to
and
feel
warm
with
them,
especially
with
a
cold
winter
that
we're
going
to
have
come
in
here,
and
it's
always
nice
to
have
them
with
each
other
where
they
can
play
and
spend
time
where
you're
at
work
or
at
school.
So
we've
always
want
people
to
consider
adopting
two.
If
it's
something
that
that
they
can
do
you
see,
these
guys
are
quite
relaxed.
A
A
And
our
next
guest
today
is
Gertie
and
before
we
start
talking
about
Gertie
I
need
to
make
a
correction.
I
said
that
those
were
sisters,
they
were
actually
brother,
so
Val
and
Harper
are
actually
brothers
they're,
both
neutered
males,
they
are
about
three
months
old
and
our
next
guest
is
gurdy.
Gurdy
looks
similar
to
value.
She's
got
some
more
white
on
her.
Let
her
talk
to
you
for
a
second.
A
She
is
one
of
our
kittens
available
for
adoption
she's
about
four
months,
so
she's
a
little
bit
older
than
the
other
two
you
just
saw,
and
she
is
a
spayed
female.
So
again,
the
last
two
that
you
just
met
val
and
Harper.
Those
are
brothers,
whereas
Gertie
here
is
a
girl.
Hopefully
the
name
will
tell
you
that,
but
Gertie
is
available
for
adoption
again,
as
I
mentioned
with
all
of
our
cats,
we
want
them
to
be
indoors.
She
does
have
all
of
her
claws
as
a
kitten.
A
That's
the
way
she
came
and
we
want
to
keep
her
that
way.
She
is
a
very
sweet
kitten.
We're
really
not
too
sure
why
she's
still
here,
she's
very
playful,
very
friendly,
is
just
really
purring
a
lot
here,
for
whatever
reason,
she's
kind
of
been
overlooked
a
little
bit,
so
we're
hoping
to
get
Gertie
at
home,
really
quick.
If
so,
if
you're
interested
in
her
come
on
down,
we
love
to
introduce
you
to
her
because
she
is
a
kitten
chances.
A
A
And
our
final
guest
for
today
is
tonks.
Tonks
is
a
beautiful
maine
catch.
Maybe
a
mix.
The
kind
of
a
medium
hair
he's
got
some
of
the
tabby
striping,
but
just
the
softest
coat
imaginable
and
seems
to
be
just
so
loving
and
so
caring
tonks
came
into
us
as
a
stray.
He
didn't
have
any
identification,
so
we
were
not
able
to
return
him
to
his
family.
No
microchip,
no
collar,
no
tag
no
way
for
us
to
know
who
tonks
is
so.
We
named
him
tongs
because
we
wanted
to
give
him
an
identity.
A
Of
course
he's
not
accustomed
to
that
name.
So
the
new
family
can
pick
a
new
name
for
this
cat
as
they
give
him
a
forever
home.
So
tonks
again,
as
I
said,
he's
a
Maine,
just
the
most
beautiful
and
soft
coat
here
very,
very
friendly
is
just
really
enjoying
this
petting
here
we're
estimating
he's
probably
about
seven
years
old.
He
is
a
neutered
male.
He
came
in
to
us
neutered,
so
he's
somebody's
cat
out
there
and
for
whatever
reason
they
didn't
come
in
to
find
him.
A
It's
turnaround
for
everybody,
so
he
is
again
just
such
a
sweet
cat
again
with
with
a
lot
of
the
kittens
that
we
have
here,
he's
kind
of
been
overlooked
a
bit,
but
tonks
is
available
for
adoption.
He
does
have
all
of
his
claws
and
just
want
to
remind
our
viewers
that
we
do
provide
those
free
nail
trims
for
life.
A
So
if
you
were
to
adopt
tonks,
you
can
bring
him
in
here
for
his
nail
trims
and
we
provide
that
service
here
to
any
of
our
adopters
to
all
of
the
cats
that
are
adopted
here
from
the
shelter,
so
we're
just
still
kind
of
getting
to
know
him.
He
seems
very
active,
very
playful
and
all
around
just
a
really
really
nice
cat,
so
that
maybe
come
across
as
much
on
the
camera,
but
he
again
is
just
so
soft
and
just
such
a
sweet
cat.
A
So
if
you're
looking
for
a
cat,
he's
a
he's
little
in
a
shorter
sight,
but
he's
a
pretty
solid
kitty,
so
he
is
obviously
full
grown
and
again
we're
estimating
about
seven
years
old.
So
we
want
to
make
sure
that
tonks
has
a
forever
home.
Where
he's
going
to
stay
indoors
and
stay
safe
and
never
come
back
and
visit
us
here
at
the
shelter,
although
we
wouldn't
mind
saying
hi
to
tongs
from
time
to
time,
but
on
different
terms,
maybe
when
he's
coming
in
for
a
nail
trim.
A
Well,
that's
our
show
for
today
and
remember
that's
just
a
sampling
of
the
animals
that
we
have
available
for
adoption
here
at
the
shelter
we
have
10
kittens
right
now
but
available
for
adoption.
This
is
as
of
the
taping
12
adult
cats,
two
rabbits
and
fortunately
all
of
our
dogs
have
been
adopted
or
they're
on
holds
waiting
for
surgery.
So
that's
a
good
thing
for
the
animal
shelter.
We
don't
want
to
keep
them
here
for
long
periods
of
time.
A
We'd
rather
have
all
the
animals
home
and,
as
we
started
thinking
about
the
holidays
and
everything
we
want
to
make
sure
that
every
pet
has
a
home
for
the
holiday
and
that
they're
not
spending
their
time
here
in
the
animal
shelter
we
try
to
make
it
as
comfortable
for
them
as
possible,
but
it's
not
the
same
as
a
home,
so
we
hope
you'd
open
up
your
home
and
your
hearts
and
adopt
one
of
the
aims.
Animal
shelter
animals
keep
in
mind
too,
that
other
animal
shelters
have
lots
of
great
animals.
A
The
story
county
shelter
has
some
amazing
animals.
Boo
nari
Humane,
Society,
Animal,
Rescue
League
is
a
very
large
agency
and
they
have
lots
of
animals
that
need
help
and
lots
of
animals
that
need
their
forever
homes
as
well.
So
if
you
don't
adopt
from
us,
please
adopt
from
a
shelter
the
animals
are
desperately
needing
help
and
and
really
want
to
be
home
for
the
holidays.
So
thank
you
for
watching
and
thank
you
for
all
your
support.
