A
A
A
Thanks
for
sticking
with
me,
as
I
promised,
I
do
have
a
special
guest
this
morning.
Lynn
carry
a
director
amés,
Public,
Library
and
Lynn
is
here
today
to
give
us
an
update.
You
SAT
with
me
last
month
with
some
other
members
of
our
moving
team,
and
we
talked
about
all
of
the
activity
that
was
happening
at
the
515
Douglas
location
to
prepare
for
the
move
and
I
thought
today,
since
this
will
be
airing
in
November,
and
there
are
some
significant
things
happening
in
November
I
would
invite
you
to
come
back
and
give
us
an
update.
A
B
So,
as
you
recall
last
time,
our
board
had
voted
to
close
the
library
from
November
16th
and
reopen
no
later
than
December
temp.
We're
still
on
schedule
to
do
that,
and
we've
been
working
very
hard.
People
visiting
the
library
will
notice
day
to
day
many
many
changes
and,
of
course,
today
we're
sitting
in
the
future
library.
A
A
Right
well,
thanks
for
pointing
it
out.
This
is
as
I
said
in
my
opening.
This
is
the
Ames
public
library,
effective,
December,
tenth
and
right
now
it
is
a
rather
vacant
retail
space
in
Lincoln,
Center,
620,
Lincoln
Center,
and
it's
as
we
speak
being
transformed
into
we
think
a
really
a
wonderful
library
space.
As
you
said,
the
staff
has
put
a
lot
of
time
into
preparations.
Give
me
a
little
bit
of
an
idea.
What
will
the
public
experience
when
they
come
here?
One.
B
Of
the
reasons
we're
so
thrilled
to
have
secured
this
space
is
because
we
will
be
able
to
have
a
full-service
library.
So
when
people
walk
in
the
door,
they
will
feel
like
they're
in
a
library
because
they
will
be.
In
fact,
it
was
kind
of
funny
one
day
as
staff
person
said.
So
what
are
we
going
to
call
the
place
at
six-twenty,
Lincoln
Center?
And
the
answer
is
the
Ames
public
library
right.
B
So
when
people
walk
in
they'll
see
that
we
have
all
of
the
traditional
things
that
they
have
come
to
expect,
there
they'll
see
a
reference
desk
ahead
of
them,
a
circulation
desk
off
to
one
side.
Some
comfy
seating
areas
with
magazines
and
newspapers
will
have
literary
grounds,
just
as
we
do
now,
with
some
used
books
for
sale
and
coffee
service
will
have
all
of
our
collection
housed
here,
which
is
nothing
short
of
amazing
right
to
be
able
to
fit
it
in
and
of
course,
it
will
be
a
tight
squeeze.
We'll
have
youth
services.
B
Teen
services
will
still
have
genealogy.
Microfilm
will
have
computers
pretty
much
everything
that
people
expect
from
the
library.
The
one
thing
that
will
be
different
is
that
we
won't
have
space
for
meeting
rooms
and
programming,
and
so
we're
working
with
other
community
organizations
and
you're
doing
a
lot
of
that
work
to
secure
other
places
and
to
make
sure
that
people
still
have
those
opportunities
in
the
community.
They
just
won't
be
able
to
be
at
the
library
and
the
way
that
they
are
right
now.
Yeah.
A
A
Well,
one
of
the
things
that
you
didn't
mention
that
comes
up
often
is:
what
are
we
going
to
do
about
book
sales?
We
have
a
wonderful
Ames,
public
library,
friends
foundation
that
works
behind
the
scenes
year
round,
to
make
our
twice
of
your
book
sales
such
a
huge
success.
How
we
going
to
be
handling
that
and
what
are
we
going
to
do
about
donations
of
materials?
We've.
B
Already
implemented
our
new
plan,
we
have
another
property
that
we
are
leasing
at
809,
east
lincoln
way,
and
at
that
location
we
will
have
book
sales,
large
book
sales,
we're
accepting
donations
there,
there's
a
schedule,
volunteers
or
maintaining
that
schedule
where
they
will
open
the
doors
and
accept
donations
will
be
able
to
take
a
few
things
at
the
library
proper.
But
we
are
asking
people
to
just
drive
an
extra
mile
and
drop
things
off
where
the
book
sale
will
be
a
Kareem.
So
those
hours
are
posted
on
our
website
and
we
will
maintain
those
regularly.
B
If
somebody
does
have
a
large
number
of
items,
we
can
make
special
arrangements
to
meet
them.
They're,
terrific-
and
we
have
this
incredible
sales
committee.
Yes,
that's
associated
with
the
Ames
Public
Library
friends
foundation.
In
fact,
there
and
now
an
award-winning
sales
committee
they've
been
honored
by
the
story,
county
Alliance
for
philanthropy
and
for
a
group
volunteer
efforts
and
we're
just
so
pleased
that
they
have
been
honored
in
that
way.
We
always
knew
that
they
were
special,
but
it's
nice
to
know
that
the
rest
of
the
community
recognizes
that
as
well.
B
So
they
are
always
thinking
of
new
and
creative
ways
to
market
and
reach
the
community,
and
they
are
planning
to
try
to
hold
some
mini
book
sales
at
at
the
library
at
Lincoln
Center.
So
we'll
have
the
big
book
sales
out
at
809,
east
lincoln
way
and
we'll
have
some
experiments
with
mini
book
sales
at
the
library
at
lincoln
center
and,
of
course,
will
maintain
literary
grounds
where
we
have
carefully
chosen
gently
used
books
for
sale,
yeah.
A
A
B
And
that's
been
one
of
the
great
buy
products
of
this
this
whole
process.
How
often
do
you
really
get
to
clean
house
yeah
for
for
private
people?
It's
really
move
right
for
us.
It's
when
you
move,
you
can
do
all
sorts
of
exercises
and
you
can
you
can
7s
and
you
can
buy
the
latest
management
book
and
figure
out
how
to
how
to
go
through
your
organization
and
evaluate
your
cross.
But
this
has
really
forced
us
to
literally
clean
up
our
offices
get
rid
of
things
that
we
don't
need
anymore.
B
A
Speaking
about
volunteers,
I'd
like
to
continue
on
on
that
topic
and
I
can
tell
you
as
somebody
who
works
at
the
information
desk,
one
of
the
most
frequent
comments
that
I
receive
is
you
know
how
can
I
help
with
the
move?
I
gotten
the
message,
the
library's
closing
you're,
moving
everything
down
to
the
last
paper,
clip
and
you're
going
to
be
doing
it
on
your
own,
but
clearly
you
might
need
some
extra
help.
So
how
is
what's
the
best
way
to
answer
that
question?
B
Many
many
people
participated,
I
think
was
over
a
thousand
volunteers
and
we
had
so
much
fun
and
got
the
work
done,
and
it
was
done
accurately
and
quickly,
and
many
people
remember
that
fondly
and
asked.
If
we're
going
to
do
that
again,
yeah
I
wish
we
could
I
wish
that
it
was
was
close
enough
and
proper
time
of
year
to
be
able
to
reenact
that.
But
unfortunately,
it's
not
we'll
be
moving
in
questionable,
whether
right
we're
moving
across
a
major
highway
exactly
and
across
the
railroad
tracks.
B
So
it's
just
not
feasible
to
do
the
book
brigade.
So
we
are
looking
for
a
variety
of
volunteers.
We
have
very
specific
needs
of
jobs
that
require
a
little
bit
of
brawn
and
some
physical
activity.
We
have
some
opportunities
for
people
to
help
out
by
baking,
cookies
for
breaks
and
those
kinds
of
things
and
all
of
those
efforts
are
being
coordinated
by
our
fabulous
volunteer,
coordinator,
Sarah
bulky
and
she
can
be
reached
from
our
website
or
via
email
at
s.
B
A
A
To
refer
folks
to
Sarah,
because
she
does
such
a
wonderful
job
in
coordinating
people
and
identifying
the
appropriate
task
for
individuals
who
wish
to
help
us
out
another
common
question
that
comes
is
what
about
my
materials
that
are
checked
out
when
you
close
on
November
16th,
what
am
I
supposed
to
do
about
the
books,
music
and
movies
that
I
have
checked
out.
So
what's
our
solution
there
we.
B
A
B
Reopened,
if
we
happen
to
get
to
open
early,
which
is
our
goal
still,
things
will
not
be
due
until
after
December
10th,
okay
people
will
not
be
accruing
finds
during
that
time
at
all,
so
get
a
little
bit
of
extra
time
right.
There
also
suggesting
that
people
stock
up
prior
to
our
closure,
because
we
will
not
be
able
to
satisfy
those
requests
and
need
for
more
items.
So
it's
perfectly
fine
to
stock
up.
B
A
A
A
Day
in
your
job
that
you
realize
that
you
have
an
opportunity
to
hear
about
the
impact
that
you
have
on
people
and
facing
this
closure
together
has
caused
people
to
really
be
quite
generous
in
there
in
the
comments.
One
thing
I
know
that
we're
trying
to
plan
for
as
we
prepare
to
the
for
the
closure
and
the
move
is
to
have
a
return
here,
I
believe
at
this
new
location.
Yes,
so
will
it
be
possible
for
people
to
return
things?
It's
almost.
B
There
will
be
about
an
hour
that
we
will
not
have
a
dropbox
available
all
right,
so
the
plan
is
on
November
16th.
We
will
stop
accepting
returns
at
515
Douglas
right
and
we
will
start
accepting
returns
here
at
six-twenty,
Lincoln
Center,
all
right
and
the
drop
box
is
located
on
the
front
of
the
building
just
near
the
door,
and
it
will
be
obvious
for
people.
One
thing
we
will
caution
people.
This
is
a
busy
parking
lot,
so
be
careful
when
you
cross
the
street
and
there
is
no
drive-up
book
return
right.
A
Okay,
but
certainly
it
is
not
required
that
you
return
anything
before
we
actually
open
again
for
service
and
I'm.
In
fact,
as
Lynn
said,
we
encourage
you
to
check
out
all
of
the
materials
that
you
think
will
help
get
you
through
the
holiday
weekend,
thanksgiving
weekend
and
movies
for
the
family
and
music
for
visitors
during
thanksgiving
dinner.
I
think
that
that's
just
about
most
of
the
things
we
wanted
to
discuss.
A
There
is
another
change
in
service-
that's
occurring
right
now
in
november,
and
that's
that
the
library
has
temporarily
discontinued
the
service
of
requesting
interlibrary
loans
from
other
libraries
on
behalf
of
our
customers
and
that's
really
a
timing.
We
would
not
be
able
to
return
the
materials
when
they're
due
to
our
lenders,
so
we
have
put
a
photo
temporary
hold
on
that
on
that
service,
but
otherwise
things
are
going
on
pretty
well.
As
usual,
there
will
be.
A
The
national
election
will
be
occurring
if
the
library
is
your
polling
place
on
Election
evening
all
day
on,
Election
Day,
the
library
will
be
open
to
satisfy
that
important
role,
but
otherwise
please
do
pay
attention
to
the
library's
website
and
stop
in
and
ask
any
questions
during
the
first
two
weeks
in
november.
If
you
are
uncertain
about
what's
happening
or
have
any
kinds
of
concerns,
is
there
anything
else
you
wish
to
say
we
do.
B
Have
one
last
special
program
at
the
library
on
November,
10,
Ames
native
Derek
Anderson
will
be
back
with
his
newest
book
that
he
has
illustrated
we're
very
excited
about
that
and
we
are
combining
that
with
a
holiday
book
sale.
Okay,
so
we
will
have
books
related
to
winter
holidays
and
books
suitable
for
gift,
giving
and
I
believe
our
teen
advisory
group
will
bring
their
popular
bake
sale.
Oh
great.
A
And
that's
really
special,
that's
another
one
of
the
most
common
comments
that
people
do
make
is:
will
there
be
any
kind
of
celebration?
Can
I
see
the
building
before
it's
closed
down,
so
we
will
vacate
it
every
last
book
and
office
supply
and
furniture
will
be
removed,
and
then
there
will
be
an
opportunity
for
the
public
to
enter
and,
as
you
said,
say
goodbye
to
the
space
as
it
exists
today
and
anticipate
with
us
the
fabulous
new
space
that
will
be
been
in
the
summer
of
2014
and
they.
A
And
down
the
hallways,
that
will
be
encouraged.
Okay,
if
they're
not
required.
Okay.
Well,
that's
great
lit
and
I
think,
as
our
viewers
can
see,
we
really
are
very
excited
about
what's
coming
up
and
we
appreciate
all
of
the
support
that
we've
gotten
from
the
community.
So
please
do
just
stay
tuned
and
we'll
continue
to
get
through
this
together,
thanks
so
much
for
being
here.
Thank
you.
A
A
Well,
thanks
so
much
for
being
with
me
today
and
I,
really
like
to
thank
Lynn
carry
for
taking
the
time
to
also
join
me
so
that
we
can
have
a
little
conversation
about
what's
coming
up
in
the
weeks
ahead.
Please
always
remember
to
check
our
library
website
aims.
Public
library,
org
for
up-to-the-minute
information
about
what's
happening
at
the
library,
give
us
a
call
as
information
desk,
239,
56,
56
or
stop
by
of
course,
during
the
period
when
we're
closed,
your
best
bet
is
to
stay
tuned
to
our
website,
where
we
will
have
update,
updated
information.
