Description
Nancy discusses the advantage of the figure eight tube for a travel and home friendly workout.
A
Hi
I'm
Nancy
Shaw,
with
healthy
living
today,
I
would
like
to
talk
about
the
figure-eight
resistant
to
the
figure-eight
tube
is
a
great
piece
of
equipment
found
in
a
lot
of
our
group.
Fitness
classes
here
at
Ames
parks
and
recreation
I
have
a
lot
of
advantages
to
using
the
figure
8
tube,
especially
if
you
like
to
travel,
and
you
want
to
take
your
workout
with
you
when
you
travel
or
if
you
work
out
at
home.
There
are
many
benefits
to
using
the
tubing
in
your
workout.
A
It's
a
cheap
piece
of
equipment
that
costs
about
ten
dollars
here
at
parks
and
recreation.
If
you'd
like
to
purchase
one,
it
adapts
easily
for
all
fitness
levels.
We
have
different
resistance,
so
we
have
the
yellow,
which
is
lighter
resistance,
Green
is
medium
and
then
red
is
a
harder
resistance.
Yet,
with
the
figure-eight
tubes,
you
can
work
every
major
muscle
in
the
body
and
get
a
full
body
workout.
A
A
First
thing:
I'm
going
to
do
is
start
with
some
card,
as
some
examples
of
some
cardio
exercises
how
you
can
up
your
cardio
using
the
tube.
So
if
you
just
normally
do
a
jack,
everybody
does
jumping
jacks,
you
can
add
a
little
bit
intensity
and
even
increase
the
work
through
the
core
by
taking
that
tube
and
holding
it
tight
and
taking
it
up
and
down
here
you
have
to
really
brace
your
core.
You
work
through
the
chest
more
and
definitely
adds
to
your
error
increases
your
cardio.
A
A
Some
of
the
exercises
we
can
do
for
resistance
exercises
include
chest
work.
We
can
take
it
in
back
right
at
about
chest
level
and
just
extend
it
in
front
and
back
working
that
chest,
bringing
your
hands
together
in
the
front
and
pulling
back
just
like
you
would.
If
you
were
laying
on
your
back
working
a
fly
with
free
weights,
we
can
loop
the
tubing
under
one
foot
and
bringing
it
up.
We
can
take
it
to
a
bicep
curl
and
what
the
tube
there's
definitely
a
different
type
of
resistance.
A
A
For
the
legs,
it's
one
of
the
favorites
for
people
to
use
for
leg
work
in
our
group,
fitness
classes.
So
if
we
change
to
the
green
tubing,
so
if
we
take
that
tubing
and
we
loop
it
underneath
each
foot
so
we're
actually
stepping
on
the
tube
we
can
start
by
taking
that
leg
and
back
working
the
gluteal
by
extending
straight
back
or
work
in
the
hamstring
by
adding
a
curl
to
that
exercise,
working
the
outer
side,
we
can
take
it.
We
can
just
tap
out
to
the
side.
A
A
We
can
even
take
the
tubing
and
use
it
in
some
core
exercises.
First,
by
standing,
embracing
it
bracing
the
core
holding
the
tube
in
front.
Just
any
sort
of
rotation
definitely
going
to
feel
all
the
way
through
the
core
rotating
side
to
side
and
a
figure
eight
manner,
or
we
can
take
it
down
to
the
floor
and
again
anytime,
we're
holding
that
tube
tight.
We
have
to
really
work
more
through
the
core,
so
you're
going
to
feel
it
taking
it
rotating
it
side
to
side
here.
A
So
again,
the
possibilities
are
endless,
with
the
figure
8
tubing,
it's
a
great
piece
of
equipment
to
add
to
your
workout.
You
can
again
where
cardio
and
any
strength
move
with
the
tubing,
and
you
can
purchase
these
here
at
Ames,
Parks
and
Recreation.
A
lot
of
our
group,
fitness
classes,
use
the
tubing
for
a
fact
of
work
out.
