A
I'm
originally
from
ankeny,
that's
where
I
grew
up
and
then
I
came
to
aims
to
what
I
was
dating
after
I
was
state
or
while
I
was
at
iowa
state,
I
met
my
husband
Damian
and
we
decided
that
aims
would
be
a
great
place
to
raise
kids
and
we
both
got
jobs
here
and
the
rest
is
history,
so
I
work
for
mainstream
living,
mainstream
living
is
a
nonprofit
organization
that
provides
services
to
people
with
disabilities.
We
serve
about
500
people
on
a
daily
basis,
all
over
central
Iowa
and
I'm.
A
The
director
of
development,
so
I'm
in
charge
of
fundraising,
grant
writing
community
outreach,
I'm
sort
of
any
activities
that
involve
outreach
to
the
public
or
helping
to
raise
funds
to
support
our
services
and
our
consumers.
I
am
involved
in
some
other
different
nonprofit
organizations.
Since
I
joined
City,
Council
I've
tried
to
scale
back
those
a
little
bit,
but
I
am
still
on
the
board
of
directors
for
the
boys
and
girls
club
of
storey.
County
I
am
also
on
the
board
of
the
Iowa
Alliance
for
Boys
and
Girls
Clubs
of
Iowa.
A
So
it's
all
the
boys
and
girls
clubs
around
the
state
that
work
together
to
raise
funds
for
Boys
and
Girls
Clubs,
I'm
a
member
of
ames
noon
rotary
and
on
the
board
of
directors
there
and
involved
in
prairie
rivers
of
iowa
on
their
finance
committee.
A
lot
of
my
free
time
is
taken
up
with
kids
activities.
My
son,
who
is
11,
plays
competitive
soccer,
and
so
we
attend
a
lot
of
soccer
games
and
travel
around
the
state
to
attend
those,
and
then
my
daughter
does
competitive
gymnastics.
A
So
again
we
travel
a
little
bit
to
go,
watch
her
meats
and
things,
and
otherwise
we
like
to
spend
time
in
ames
spend
time
with
our
friends.
We
have
a
lot
of
good
local
restaurants
around
town
and
we
entertain
a
lot
of
our
house.
I
enjoy
reading
so
but
usually
kids
activities
are
what
keeps
us
busy.
There's
a
lot
of
things.
I
love
about
Ames,
I
would
say
I'm
working
in
the
nonprofit
community.
I
love
that
we
have
a
very
caring
community.
A
It's
very
easy
for
me
if
we
need
something
for
mainstream
living
or
even
for
one
of
the
other
organizations
that
I'm
involved
with
to
pick
up
the
phone
and
make
a
couple
of
calls
and
pretty
much
have
our
needs
answered.
So
I
appreciate
that
we
have
such
a
wide
variety
of
human
services
and
aims
and
a
lot
of
people
who
are
willing
to
support
them
and
the
people
who
need
them.
I
love
our
schools,
I
love
that
there's
lots
of
things
to
do
whether
you're,
a
young,
professional
or
a
senior
in
this
town.
A
We
just
have
a
lot
to
say
about
Ames
and
there's
a
lot
going
on
here
and,
and
we
love
being
a
part
of
it.
One
of
my
major
goals
is
to
encourage
other
people
to
get
involved
in
the
process.
You
know
it's
no
secret.
We
have
a
low
turnout
in
city
elections
and
there
are
a
lot
of
people
who
I
think,
are
interested
in
what
goes
on
or
if
they're
not.
A
They
should
be
because
a
lot
of
the
decisions
that
we
make
do
affect
people's
daily
lives,
where
they
live,
how
they
work
and
those
sorts
of
things.
And
so
I
hope
that
I
can
encourage
people,
especially
young
people,
they're,
not
quite
as
involved
in
city
government,
to
get
involved
in
the
process,
and
it
doesn't
mean
they
have
to
come,
speak
at
city
council
meetings
but
at
least
stay
engaged
and
try
to
participate
when
possible.
