From YouTube: This Week in Ames - Ames Public Library
Description
Susan visits the recently opened temporary library at 620 Lincoln Way
A
So
I'm
here
with
interim
library,
director
lynn,
carey
lynn,
welcome
to
the
show,
thank
you
so
much
it's
nice
to
be
here
and
thank
you
for
hosting
us
in
your
beautiful
new
library.
We
haven't
been
here
since.
Don't
you
open
for
good
and
tell
us
a
little
bit
about
the
transition
to
this
note,
new
location,
your
hours
and
what
people
can
expect
when
they
come
well.
B
A
B
Did
open
early
through
the
efforts
of
our
wonderful
staff
and
tremendous
core
of
volunteers,
which
included
many
people
from
other
City
departments
and
community
members?
We
were
able
to
open
ahead
of
schedule,
and
so
that
was
really
fun
and
nice
to
get
back
to
what
we
do
best
and
that's
serving
our
customers.
Now.
B
Close,
the
one
thing
that
we're
missing
is
is
meeting
room
space,
but
otherwise
we
have
our
entire
collection
here
that
that
just
astounds
people.
But
every
item
is
available
here.
It's
a
little
bit
tighter
and
we've
used
top
shelves
and
bottom
shelves,
but
it's
all
here
and
what
they're
most
surprised
about
is
all
the
amenities
we
have
study
tables,
study
carrels.
B
We
have
a
wonderful
lounge
area
that
people
are
enjoying
setting
up
their
laptop
in
a
comfy
chair
reading
the
newspaper
we
also
have
literary
grounds
recreated
here,
so
we
have
a
little
bookstore
that
has
seen
brisk
business
during
the
holiday
season
and
we
have
a
coffee
and
tea
service
for
free
will
donation.
So
a
lot
of
things
that
just
make
it
a
nice
place
to
gather
in
a
place
to
sit
and
look
at
materials
and
boyfriend.
A
B
A
B
A
B
B
We
handed
the
library
over
right
after
we
moved
and
it's
currently
in
the
hands
of
abatement
specialties
and
they
are
taking
care
of
some
asbestos
and
lead
paint
that
are
there
they'll
make
sure
that
it's
all
clean
and
ready
for
the
general
contractors
to
take
over
mid-january.
All
of
that
is
on
schedule
and
we're
just
really
excited
to
break
ground
and
move
forward.
So.
B
A
B
A
B
Then
we're
back
in
business.
We
do
have
space
here
for
some
children's
programming,
so
it
will
be
the
full
complement
from
babies
through
teens,
so
watch
the
website
for
that
and
children's
programming.
What
programs
will
start
in
mid
january
january
fourteenth
we're
also
going
to
experiment
with
having
some
of
our
smaller
adult
programs?
Here
we
have
a
knitting
and
crocheting
club.
We
have
some
book
clubs.
B
A
B
A
A
B
Correct
we
have
another
property
at
809
east
lincoln
way,
and
we
have
posted
hours
on
our
website
as
to
win.
We
will
have
a
volunteer
there
to
accept
book
donations,
but
if
somebody
has
a
lot
to
donate,
they
just
need
to
call
and
we'll
make
arrangements
to
meet
them
out
there
and
pick
those
up
and
then
we'll
be
holding
our
book
sales
at
that
location.
Oh
so.
A
A
It's
not
too
late
to
still
get
those
holiday
discounts.
Both
discounts
are
available
to
the
firm
and
Aquatic
Center
and
the
Ames
dog
park.
You
can
get
more
information
online
at
city
of
ames
org.
Also
we
have
some
holiday
closings.
Don't
forget
that
on
tuesday
january
first
most
city
offices,
as
well
as
Ames
public
library,
will
be
closed
for
the
New
York
New
Year's
Day
holiday.
Well,
that's
our
show
for
today,
thanks
for
watching
and
tune
in
next
week
for
this
week
in
Ames.
