A
B
Derek
no
two
days
are
the
same.
I'll
tell
you
that
it's
anything
and
everything
to
to
be
involved
with
on
our
construction
projects.
You
know
I'm,
basically
from
the
cradle
to
grave
of
a
construction
project.
We
start
off
with
kind
of
our
preliminary
design
and
our
public
outreach
with
the
neighborhood
that
we're
going
to
be
impacting
with
a
street
reconstruction
or
utility
improvements
to
be
completed
in
a
certain
area
of
Ames.
B
We
do
a
lot
of
outreach
in
questions
and
conversations
with
those
residents
trying
to
get
their
intake
and
input
that
will
help
better
the
design
that
we
put
together
ultimately
and
then,
basically,
we
see
that
project
into
construction.
We
hire
a
contractor
on
behalf
of
the
city
who
completes
plans
as
specified
as
we
put
them
together
and
then,
ultimately,
we
we
put
that
project
to
completion.
We
we
see
it
through
to
the
end,
and
then
we
do
our
restoration.
B
A
B
Derek
we
we
have
a
long-range
transportation
and
for
the
Ames
area
and
that's
kind
of
the
the
start
you
know
of
it
all.
We
we
plan
out
not
only
short-term
projects
but
long-term
I'm
talking
25
years
down
the
road,
we're
planning
out
improvement
projects
for
the
community
for
the
area
and
from
that
plan
we
pull
projects
based
on
our
budget
from
year
to
year.
B
That
council
allows
for
public
works
particularly,
and
we
identify
the
worst
of
the
worst
streets,
or
you
know
water
main
or
sanitary
sewers
that
may
need
to
be
improved,
and
from
that
we
prioritize
a
list.
You
know
of,
like
I,
said
the
worst
of
the
worst
ER
or,
if
there's
a
combination
of
a
cost
savings
where
we
can
include
a
street
improvement
with
a
utility
improvement.
We
kind
of
we
put
those
together
as
one
project,
ultimately
saving
money
and
able
to
do
more
so.
A
B
That
typically
depends,
you
know
if
it's
going
to
be
a
rehab
project
or
a
full
reconstruction
rehab
projects
can
be
have
a
life
of
anywhere
from
10
to
20
to
25
years
a
full
reconstruction
of
a
street
could
be
upwards
of
30
to
50
years.
It
just
kind
of
depends.
You
know
we
have
those
harsh
winters
here
in
Iowa
and
then
that
that
freeze-thaw
cycle
is
is
really
the
detriment
to
our
pavement
around
here.
B
A
Would
be
so
construction
season,
you
end
up
to
that
a
little
bit,
it's
more
or
less
when
the
ground
is
thaw,
so
you
can't
be
working
in
the
middle
of
the
winter,
so
they
have
basically
a
timeline
of
spring
to
fall
that
they
have
to
be
completed
in
yep.
Can
you
tell
us
about
some
of
the
projects
that
have
been
completed
so
far?
This
season,
yeah.
B
So
so
far,
construction
that
we
have
pretty
much
wrapped
up,
there's
just
some
minor
touch
up
or
vegetative
restoration
to
be
completed
on
Hayward
Avenue
in
canvas
town
has
been
completed
just
south
of
lincoln
way.
West
and
woodland
streets
has
been
completed
as
well.
In
addition
to
those
two
there's
also
in
the
cell
toe
area,
there's
Garnett
and
viola
may
that
we
have
completed
as
well
that's
kind
of
for
full
completion
that
we're
wrapping
up
here
that,
but
we
still
have
some
that
are
still
kind
of
under
construction.
Speaking.
A
B
B
Forward
to
next
year's
construction,
a
large
one
that
will
be
impacting
not
only
two
adjacent
property
owners
but
to
commuters
and
ames,
would
be
13
street
from
the
railroad
tracks
west
about
nine
hundred
to
a
thousand
feet
towards
the
aquatic
center.
We're
going
to
be
doing
a
full
reconstruction
on
that
stretch
of
four-lane
arterial,
so
that'll
be
a
large
project
that
will
be
impacting
a
lot
of
vehicle
traffic.
To
add
to
that
you
know,
6th
Street
will
be
another
project.
B
The
66th
street
bridge
will
be
basically
demolished
and
a
new
bridge
will
be
built
in
its
place,
so
that
section
of
6th
Street
will
be
closed
and
so
scheduling
is
very
key.
You
know
with
13
Street
having
construction
and
then
sixth
Street
and
then,
ultimately,
we
have
to
kind
of
play
ball
with
Iowa
State
and
their
road
construction
projects
as
well,
and
my
understanding
is
that
they're
going
to
be
working
on
the
stang
Road
bridge,
doing
a
bridge
deck
improvement
overlay
on
that
project.
A
B
We
have
a
construction
update,
webpage
city
of
Ames
that
o
RG
/
construction
updates
go
there.
We
update
that,
if
not
weekly
multiple
times
out
the
week,
just
like
Derrick,
said
the
the
project's
do
change.
You
know
each
day
we
may
be
jumping
from
one
construction
activity
to
the
other,
just
based
on
whether
based
on
just
timing
and
phasing
for
a
project
and
just
kind
of
that's
kind
of
where
we
like
to
put
information
out
there
for
the
residents
to
just
go
hey
what's
going
on
here.
Well,
that's
a
good
location
to
look
great.
A
Rudy,
thank
you
for
coming
on
the
show
there.
Thank
you
and
that
website
again
is
city
of
Ames
org,
slash
construction
updates
on
there.
You
will
find
detailed
information
on
each
project,
including
contact
information
and
for
your
calendar.
Friday
October
thirtieth,
is
trick
or
treat
night
here
in
the
city
of
Ames,
with
recommended
hours
from
5
30
to
7
30.
So
if
you
want
to
go
out
and
get
some
good
treats,
that
would
be
the
recommended
hours
here
for
the
city.
That's
our
show
for
today,
thanks
for
watching
and
tune
in
next
week.
