A
A
A
A
B
We,
if
it's
within
the
public
right
of
way,
so
if
you
can
think
about
between
the
sidewalk
and
one
side
of
the
street,
to
the
sidewalk
on
the
other
side
of
the
street.
We
consider
that
the
public
right-of-way
anything
that
happens
within
their
falls
under
the
jurisdiction
of
Public
Works,
so
you're
talking
street
maintenance,
snow
and
ice
control,
sidewalks,
trees,
sanitary
sewer,
storm
sewer,
water,
main
maintenance
of
all
those
activities
is
under
the
broad
umbrella
of
Public
Works.
B
B
Correct
it
was
it's
been
a
it's
been
a
unique
year
that
not
as
much
snow
had
a
little
more
ice
during
the
Middle
this
season,
so
that's
probably
a
little
more
challenging
than
the
snow,
but
yeah
we're
transitioning
out
of
a
snow
season,
we're
transitioning
into
what
would
be
our
traditional
street
patching
season.
But
right
now,
what
we're
waiting
for
some
things
to
happen?
A
B
A
Some
other
changes
going
on
improvements,
actually
that
people
might
notice,
we
like
to
say
the
city
of
Ames,
that
we're
a
cradle-to-grave
operation
and
that
we
have
a
public
municipal
hospital
as
well
as
a
municipal
cemetery.
Some
improvements
going
on
at
the
cemetery
that
people
may
be
able
to
see
just
driving
by
yeah.
B
One
one
thing
that
I
didn't
mention
in
our
broad
realm
of
what
we
do
is
also
the
municipal
cemetery,
so
we've
had
a
long
term
vision
there
of
improving
the
look
of
the
cemetery,
improving
the
function
in
the
cemetery.
A
lot
of
that
is
coming
to
fruition
here,
probably
in
the
next
one
to
two
years,
and
some
of
that
people
will
be
able
to
see
here
shortly
as
well.
So
some
of
the
things
that
they
would
see
is
the
first
problem.
Most
obvious
thing
is
going
to
be
the
cemetery
water
service
line.
B
So
it's
in
the
cemetery.
There
are
water
hydrants,
so
people
can
fill
watering
cans
and
for
flowers
and
that
sort
of
stuff
we've
had
some
problems
with
that
over
the
years
of
the
water
existing
water
lines,
probably
from
the
1930s.
So
it's
rather
old
we're
going
to
replace
the
entire
water
system
and
we're
going
to
put
in
a
newer
system
and
one
that
has
easier
to
operate
hydrants,
so
they're
going
to
require
less
force
to
open,
but
they're
also
going
to
be
self
closing,
so
you
can't
accidentally
leave
them
on.
B
You
know
a
lot
of
our
clientele
out.
There
are
of
an
age
where
sometimes
grabbing
a
handle
and
turning.
It
is
not
easy
to
do
so.
We
will
have
larger
handles
to
push
to
open
them,
so
the
water
lines
will
be
probably
the
first
thing
people
see
following
that
project.
We
should
see
some
finalization
of
the
cemetery
lanes
being
repaved,
so
some
of
the
the
roads
within
the
cemetery
we
call
them
lanes
there,
they're,
showing
some
age
they
again
are
from.
Probably
the
50s
and
60s
and
original
will
be
resurfacing.
All
those.
B
So
our
goal
here
is
to
have
all
the
the
roads
and
the
water
and
everything
look
new
in
the
cemetery.
So
it's
part
of
all
that
progress
moving
forward.
We
have
an
area
of
the
cemetery
called
the
Columbarium.
If
you're
not
familiar
is
what
a
columbarium
is.
It's
basically,
an
above-ground
place
that
you
can
take,
remains
or
cremated
loved
ones,
ashes
and
place
them
in
a
in
a
memorial
spot
there.
So
there
is
one
off
the
eleventh
Street
entrance
in
the
cemetery.
It's
about
80%
full
right
now.
B
B
Exactly
and
what
we're
looking
to
do
is
not
only
expand
our
columbarium
area,
but
also,
as
part
of
that,
will
be
repositioning
the
way
it
works,
trying
to
make
it
more
inviting
make
it
more
serene
and
peaceful
for
people
that
want
to
come
there
and
visit
their
their
loved
ones
or
family
members
or
friends.
Some
amenities,
such
as
benches,
better,
better
places
to
put
memorial
items,
sometimes
right
now,
they're
stacked
right
on
the
ground,
and
they
cover
up
some
of
the
lower
levels
of
the
Columbarium
trying
to
we're
trying
to
take
all
that
into
account.
B
We
had
some
public
input
on
that.
Some
of
that
sort
of
stuff.
We
had
some
input
from
local
funeral
directors
and
those
that
they
use
a
cemetery
a
lot.
These
are
things
that
we
could
do
to
make
this
more
of
a
an
inviting
place,
a
place
that
people
want
to
be,
and
you
know
try
to
try
to
serve
that
need
of
the
customers.
Yeah.
A
Now
I
we
talked
about
the
infamous
two
cemeteries
if
it's
the
only
city
cemetery,
but
there
are
others
as
well,
but
it's
the
largest
off
of
East
13th
streets,
50,
acres
and
kind
of
a
rolling
hill.
As
you
go
down,
East
13th
street
and
he
mentioned
eleventh
Street-
is
an
entrance
into
it.
It's
kind
of
a
new
one
that
it's
so
connected
to
the
to
the
neighborhood.
Yes,.
B
A
And
I
know
people
realize
how
expensive
it
is
because
if
you
view
it
off
of
13th
Street,
you
don't
see
much
land
there
is
and
how
difficult
it
can
be
if
you're
not
quite
sure
where
your
loved
one
is
located
to
find
them
and
I
understand
you're,
going
to
make
that
easier
for
somebody
to
locate
a
headstone.
Yes,.
B
This
of
this
past
fall.
We
started
piloting
putting
all
of
our
records
online
and
we
we
did
some
internal
testing
on
that.
We've
turned
that
over
to
the
public.
Now
it's
on
our
city
website.
You
can
actually
go
there
using
geographical
information
system
or
GIS.
You
can
search
for
a
loved
one.
You
can
search
for
anybody.
That's
buried
within
our
cemetery
that
we
have
records
of
and
you
can
you
can
look
them
up.
There's
electronic
maps.
We
will
give.
B
How
far
you
just
have
a
last
name?
Okay,
if
you
want
to
search
for
someone
by
the
last
name
of
Smith,
there
might
be
a
lot
of
Smith's
in
the
cemetery,
but
you
would
see
everyone
that
we
have
records
are
married
and
that
will
get
you
most
of
the
information
that
we
have.
There
may
be
a
few
things
that
aren't
on
that
website
that
if
you
want
some
more
information,
you
can
certainly
contact
the
cemetery.
We're
willing
to
provide
that
information
as
a
you
know
serves
you.
The
customers
needs
as
well.
Well,.
B
Are
you
know,
Memorial
Day
is
a
very
important
day
in
the
in
the
in
the
scope
of
cemeteries.
It's
probably
our
largest
day
that
people
come
want
to
provide
flowers
and
decoration
that
we
certainly
encourage
that
we,
the
what
we
want
people
to
be
aware
of,
is,
if
you
want
to
retain
those
flowers
or
retain
those
decorations.
We
asked
if
you
haven't,
removed,
I,
believe
it's
within
48
hours
after
moral
dates
are
probably
by
Wednesday.
B
Think
if
you
want
to
make
sure
you
retain
make
sure
you
pick
it
back
up
following
that,
we
typically
won't
do
a
large
cleaning
to
the
cemetery
after
that
make
sure
everything's
looking
good,
but
it
is.
It
is
a
busy
day
in
the
cemetery
we
put
up
the
flags
and
the
you
know
the
military
honors
are
there
and
everything
it's
it's.
It's
a
really
neat
way
for
us
to
showcase
what
we're
doing
some
of
these
changes
that
people
might
be
able
to
see
if
they
come
visit.
Yeah.
A
Well,
it
sounds
like
a
lot
of
exciting
projects
going
on
the
cemetery.
Not
all
happening
at
once
seems
like
they'll
take
some
time
to
get
those
done.
The
online
access
will
be
really
helpful
to
families
who
don't
live
here,
to
be
able
to
get
that
information
online
and
if
they
visit,
find
what
they're
looking
for
quickly.
Yes,.
A
Justin
thanks
for
coming
in.
Thank
you
again.
If
you
want
more
information
about
changes
happening
at
the
ancient
mystical
cemetery,
you
can
go
online
at
studio,
veins,
org,
forward,
slash
cemetery.
It
will
get
you
to
a
page.
It
will
get
you
a
lot
more
information
about
things
that
are
happening
and
access
to
that
database
on
how
to
find
your
loved
one.
Just
some
information
for
your
calendar
april.
Eight,
this
coming
up,
that's
a
saturday,
will
be
a
busy
day
for
ames.
A
We
have
the
a
municipal
airport,
hangar
ribbon-cutting
that
will
happen
between
8
30
and
nine.
Thirty
am
at
the
Ames
Municipal
Airport
make
sure
to
mark
your
calendar
to
attend
the
Ames.
The
ISU
fly-in
cyclones
will
be
having
a
fly-in
breakfast.
You
could
make
a
donation
to
them
and
enjoy
some
pancakes
also
remember,
step
into
storybook
set
morning
at
the
Ames
Public
Library.
Well,
that's
our
show
for
today,
thanks
for
watching
and
tune
in
next
week
for
this
weakening.
