Description
Athens Planning Commission - February 18, 2021
A
A
A
Okay,
the
next
order
of
business
that
we
have
before
us
is
the
election
of
the
2021
planning
commission
officers.
This
would
be
appointing
a
chair
and
a
vice
p.
Vice
chair
for
this
year,.
A
Okay,
I
am
willing
to
serve
in
that
capacity.
Okay,
the
chair
so
I'll.
Just
throw
that
out
there
and.
B
Here's
the
thing
for
me:
I
just
came
on
in
december:
austin
you,
you
know,
you
don't
don't
know
that,
but
so
this
is
really.
I
think,
my
second
meeting,
because
most
everything
else
has
been
canceled.
I
don't
feel
like
I'm
ready
to
be
an
officer.
I
guess
at
this
point,
but
certainly
not
chair,
totally
understand.
Okay,.
B
A
B
So
I'll
move
that
we
adopt
the
slate
of
steve
patterson
as
chair
and
nancy
bain
as
vice
chair,
and
I
second
that.
A
A
Okay,
we
have
disposition
of
the
november
19th
minutes.
Everyone
should
have
received
those
minutes.
A
So
if
there
are
any
noted
changes
or
comments
about
those,
if
someone
would
like
to
make
make
a
motion
to
adopt
the
november
19th,
this
is
going
to
be
kind
of
interesting.
We
may
have
to
suspend
or
or
not,
suspend.
We
may
have
to
table
those
minutes,
given
that
those
who
can
vote
on
this
would
be
members
who
were
on
the
planning
commission
back
in
november
and
john,
were
you
on
in
november.
I
was.
B
Not
okay,
you
know,
I
I
well
let
me
let
me
let
me
look
real
quick.
I
don't
think
I
was
on
in
november
you're.
A
B
B
A
So
do
I
have
a
motion
to
adopt
minutes
from
november
19th
so
moved.
I
have
a
first
and
a
second
all
in
favor
of
adopting
signified
by
saying
aye
aye
aye
opposed
same
sign.
A
The
disposition
of
minutes
are
adopted
cases
which
is
typical
that
we
have
cases
followed
by
communications.
We
have
no
cases
today
and
under
communications
and
a
communication
just
to
remind
those
who
are
watching
as
well
as
informing
or
new
members
to
the
planning
commission.
These
would
be
the
first
presentation
of
a
a
project
or
a
development.
A
Anything
that
would
come
before
the
planning
commission
would
come
up
first
as
a
communication
and
then
move
its
way
through
as
a
case
for
future
meetings.
So
we
have
no
communications
today
which
moves
us
on
to
report
from
city
planner
and
the
director
for
development
and
code
enforcement,
paul
loke.
C
Good
afternoon,
everyone
thank
you,
mayor
patterson.
It
should
be
noted
that
this
is
red.
This
is
relatively.
This
is
a
regular
that
we've
been
canceling
meetings
for
the
last
couple
months.
It
is
pretty
typical
for
us
to
have
two
meetings
every
month
on
the
first
and
third
wednesday
or
thursdays
of
every
month.
C
So
a
lot
of
it
is
that
some
of
our
case
work
has
slowed
down
as
far
as
planning
commission's
responsibilities
due
to
slow
down
and
development,
but
hopefully
that
will
be
picking
up
in
the
next
couple
months
as
well.
From
my
perspective,
just
a
few
things
to
report
this
afternoon.
The
first
is
that,
and
so
that
austin's
aware-
and
I
think
john
you're
aware
as
well
but
athens
city
council
did
approve-
did
adopt
the
2020
comprehensive
plan
at
the
end
of
december
of
2020
austin
I'll.
C
Make
sure
that
I
get
you
a
link
to
that.
So
you
can
review
that
just
for
your
for
background
knowledge,
I'm
currently
working
with
a
designer
to
take
that
document
and
make
a
attractive
final
publication
of
it.
The
current
document
is
just
a
text-only
document
and
so
we're
working
on
graphics
and
charts
and
all
that
information
and
photographs
to
make
it
look
interesting
to
read
so
that
should
be.
C
We
should
be
having
that
wrapped
up
in
the
next
couple
weeks,
also
preparing
to
close
out
the
from
with
working
with
our
city's
historic
preservation,
commission
preparing
to
close
out
our
certified
local
government
grant
that
we
received
on
behalf
of
mount
zion
preservation,
society
or
president
mount
zion
baptist
church
preservation
society.
I
believe
so
we're
wrapping
that
up.
C
Also
I've
been
working
a
lot
on
with
respect
to
helping
ohio
university
and
the
ridge's
advisory
commission
to
try
to
find
funding
for
the
issues
that
the
ohio
university
is
having
with
buildings.
Two
three
and
four
of
the
main
kirkbride
complex
of
the
ridges,
the
roof
there
has
been
failing,
as
many
of
you
were
probably
aware,
I
believe
woub
just
put.
C
D
C
Is
that
the
athens
county,
the
county
commissioners,
have
posted
the
position
for
the
county
planner
position,
and
hopefully
they
will
have
that
resolved
in
the
next
couple
months
and
there
will
be
a
full-time
planner
back
on
board
for
the
county.
That's
all
I
really
had
this
morning
or
this
afternoon.
If
any
members
of
the
planning
commission
have
any
questions
for
me
by
all
means
feel
free
to
ask
away.
E
Hi
this
is
david
riggs
good
afternoon
everybody.
The
only
thing
I
would
have
to
report
is
that
we
did
receive
two
site
plan
applications
for
two
different
developments
that
are
going
to
be
a
residential
multi-family
unit.
Buildings
you'll
see
those
at
the
next
planning
commission.
I
hope
they'll
be
available
next
planning
commission.
There
should
be
links
that
you've
received,
so
you
can
actually
start
to
review
those
plans.
Now.
E
We're
also
have
those
plans
to
the
different
departments
for
comments.
Police,
fire,
engineering
and
building,
as
well
as
paul
loeb's
office,
to
we'll
should
have
some
comments
ready
for
that
first
communication
meeting,
I
think
that's
the
fourth
of
march,
is-
is
that
that's
the
tentative
date
and
that's
all
I
have.
A
Thank
you
david
now
we
have
an
opportunity
for
citizens
to
speak
about
items
not
covered
on
the
agenda
and
I
am
looking
in
that.
I
don't.
We
have
zero
attendees,
so
I
don't
think
we
have
anybody.
Do
we
scott
or
ryan.
A
Commission,
the
only
announcement
that
I
have
is
that
we
may
likely
have
more
snow
snowfall
in
the
forecast,
so
everybody
please
drive
carefully
when
you're
out
and
about
and
as
I
often
bring
up
at
all
of
my
meetings
that
I
am
on
is
that
encouraging
people
to
stay
safe,
we
still
are
under
a
worldwide
pandemic,
with
the
coronavirus,
so
wear
a
mask
when
you're
out
in
public
or
entering
into
a
business
that
is
open
to
the
public
social
distance
and,
if
you're,
fortunate
enough
to
get
in
the
queue
to
get
your
vaccine.
A
A
The
athens
county
three
weeks
ago,
two
weeks
ago,
ranked
number
three
in
the
state
for
for
vaccinations
of
people,
age,
80,
plus
at
59.4
percent
that
is
likely
higher
now
than
it
was,
and
a
lot
of
that
is
credited
to
the
health
department,
as
well
as
our
pharmacies,
and
as
I
understand
it
now,
it's
it's.
The
vast
majority
of
pharmacies
here
in
athens
county
that
have
been
given
the
green
light
to
administer
the
vaccine
most
recently
is
fruit
pharmacy.
A
So,
if,
if
you're
in
that
age
group
that
is
up
there,
I
encourage
you
to
go,
get
your
vaccine
and
stay
safe.
That
all
said,
I
would
like
to
have
someone
make
a
motion
to
adjourn
the
meeting
motion
from
chief
pyle.
